Chapter 26 Civil War
Korra was completely furious beyond words. First her uncle made things difficult on her marriage and tried to turn her against her father with revealing his past actions 20 years ago. Now his troops arrived and treated her entire tribe like they were nothing but trash which infuriated her even more.
"What part of we're done did you not get? Why are your troops here?" Korra asked.
"Now that you've opened the southern portal, we need to protect if from people who would do the spirits harm." Unalaq said.
"Oh so that makes you think you can treat my people like lower class citizens right? You are a the worst example of a human being." Korra said glaring at him.
"I'll make sure they understand they cannot act that way. I have one task for you." Unalaq said.
"NO. I'm done doing what you say! I need to find my husband and repair the damage YOU caused!" Korra said.
"Korra...You have to do this or our tribes will never find unity again." Unalaq said.
"DON'T PLAY THAT CARD ON ME! You want power and nothing less! I see that now more than ever! There is nothing you can say that will ever make me work with you ever again!" Korra yelled about to leave.
"Korra please...Do this and I will leave you two alone. You have my word." Unalaq said making her glare.
"You've given your word before." Korra said.
"This is different. There is another portal in the North. Once you open it, spirits wan man will be able to move freely between the north and the South in a matter of seconds." Unalaq said.
"Incase your forgetting the solstice is over. How the hell am I going to open it?" Korra asked.
"The Spiritual energy is much stronger in the north. And now that you've opened the Southern portal, your energy is stronger as well." Unalaq said before she glared at him.
"If I do this and you don't leave...I'll close both those portals and make sure they can never be opened again by me or a god. Am I clear?" Korra asked.
"Yes. Do this and I promise I will never bother you two again." Unalaq said.
"I should have killed you when I had the chance if my father hadn't stopped me." Korra said walking away making him frown.
Arriving back at her home she sat down in her bed and sighed as she held her engagement necklace.
"Korra?" Senna said walking in.
"I just want to be left alone for a while mom." Korra said before they heard explosions outside making her rush out.
Rushing out she saw Sean fighting against Hermes who looked heavily wounded.
"I will not be bested by some brat." Hermes said before attacking him again but Sean grabbed him before slamming his back into his knee making him scream in agonizing pain before Sean threw him into a wall hard making him cough up blood.
"You picked a real bad time to piss me off." Sean said standing above him.
"I thought Spartans fought with Honor, and yet you seek to kill me when I have no way to defend myself? Not fair. But you have your own sense of honor, right, Kruger? And what has that honor brought you?" Hermes asked making him glare. "Nothing but trouble at every turn." Hermes said before Sean looked at his boots. "Today you may defeat me. But in the end Spartan you will never defeat your grandfather." Hermes said before Sean took out his blades and cut off his left leg making him scream in horror while Korra covered her mouth.
"We'll see about that." Sean said as he crawled away.
"LEAVE ME ALONE! STAY AWAY!" Hermes yelled before Sean grabbed his other leg before cutting it off before he died and was absorbed.
"Majorly league pain in my ass." Sean said before taking the shoes and put them on.
"Sean?" Korra said as she walked to him before he just dashed off using his new abilities making her sigh.
"Give him time. He just needs his space." Senna said.
"I think I can see exactly where this is heading. And it's all my fault." Korra said walking away making her sigh.
Meanwhile
Tenzin and his wife along with his one year old son were outside the temple while Kya fed some of the animals and Turok in the form of a Komodo dragon slept.
"Ahh, I haven't felt this at peace since..." Tenzin tried to say.
"Wahoo!" Bumi yelled jumping out in a robe with his underwear on making Turok chuckle as he woke up before turning human
"And it's over." Tenzin said.
"Good morning universe!" Bumi yelled with his robe opened making Kya cover her eyes.
"Bumi, My god! Please cover yourself!" Kya yelled mortified.
"Well, Lookee here. Vacation Tenzin has finally decided to join us for a change." Bumi said.
"Yes, he has. And it's I've really enjoyed having you two around. Reminds me of all those great vacations as kids with dad." Tenzin said making them frown
"Uh, I think your memory is a little foggy. Bumi and I weren't on those great vacations. It was always just you and dad." Kya said.
"No, that can't be right. What about the time he took us to Kyoshi island to ride the elephant-Koi?" Tenzin asked.
"We weren't there either." Kya said.
"Hmm. Oh, Remember Ember Island? Those amazing san palaces we built on the beach?" Tenzin asked.
"You mean you built. We never saw the place." Bumi said.
"I could've sworn." Tenzin said.
"No offense but it sounds like your old man played favorites with you because you were an airbender and they weren't. Something my people frown upon heavily wanting everyone to be treated equally in family." Turok said.
Thats when Jinora and Meelo arrived on air scooters.
"Hello having some fun I hope?" Turok asked.
"Of course." Jinora said grinning
"Wait a second...Wheres Ikki?" Pemma asked concerned.
"Who?" Jinora asked making her frown.
"Ikki. About this tall. Talks real fast a lot. I'm sure you know her." Pemma said.
"Uh..." Jinora tried to say.
"Were you two teasing her again like before?" Turok asked.
"No!...Yes." Jinora said looking down.
"She ran away." Meelo said making Pemma growl.
"Honestly I don't know why you three can't get along! Just look at Sean and Turok they at least do even though they aren't related." Pemma scolded them.
"Oh relax. Siblings always fight and tease. It's just a natural part of them I suppose." Turok said making her sigh.
"I guess.
"We might as well go find her before she gets hurt or something." Turok said turning into a large Lion and ran off.
Meanwhile
A group of Northern Water tribe soldiers walked through the town as everyone else glared at them making them glare back.
Suddenly however Snowballs hit them.
"Who threw those?" The Leader asked before looking up seeing a group of children laughing before he waterbent them down making them scream.
"You hoodlums think you're tough, Huh?" One asked.
"Pick on a waterbender your own size." One of the Southerners said with others backing him up before they readied themselves.
Thats when Korra arrived on Naga.
"Stop!" Korra said.
"Tell these thugs to go back to the North. They're not welcome here anymore!"
"These southerners need to stay in line."
"Everyone, calm down. You're all part of the same tribe. Start acting like it." Korra said trying to cool things down before they got worse.
"You're taking their side? We thought you were one of us." One of the Southerners said.
"I'm not taking anyone's side." Korra said before a snowball hit her. "Hey!" Korra said before seeing a little girl waterbending another snowball.
"Your the worst Avatar Ever. Kruger should have married someone better" She said throwing it before Korra caught it and melted it.
"WHY YOU!" Korra yelled pissed off.
"Enough!"
Everyone turned and Saw Sean walking to them.
"Sean." Korra said.
"Just ignore them. They aren't worth fighting in the slightest. Just a bunch of punks misusing their statues to do whatever they want." Sean said as the Southerners walked away willingly. "This is your only warning. Cause any trouble in my home and you will pay." Sean said.
"And just what are you gonna do about it God Slayer?" The Leader asked before Sean's axe went through his head shocking his men while Korra widened her eyes at the brutal kill.
"Anyone else?" Sean questioned making them run off in fear before Sean walked away.
"Sean wait." Korra said getting in front of him.
"Get out of my way." Sean said.
"Look I just want to talk. I know what happened 14 years ago. My dad told me. Unalaq tried to drown you when we were kids." Korra said.
"What about it?" Sean asked.
"If I knew that he tried to pull that when we were kids I never would have agreed to work with him regardless of what happened." Korra said.
"And you think that makes everything thats happening now ok? Korra look around you! The entire tribe is being pushed around like garbage. Unalaq doesn't care about unifying the tribe he just wants it to be the way he wants! And it is entirely your fault!" Sean said shocking her.
"My fault?" Korra asked shocked he would say that.
"You gave him a reason to stay because you opened that damn portal! Did you ever consider that maybe it was closed for a reason for even a second!" Sean asked making her look down. "And the fact that only you can open it proves an Avatar closed it for a good reason. And another thing if the Spirits were really out of balance down here then how come they didn't show up while you were gone! Why is it they only showed up when he was around! Why did one only attack me!" Sean yelled making her widen her eyes seeing that was true. "He's behind this somehow and he played you! After everything he's done you gave him what he wanted." Sean said glaring at her.
"Sean please." Korra said.
"Get out of my way." Sean said walking past her.
"Sean please!" Korra yelled before he slammed his axe down creating a wall of ice to prevent her from following.
This just made her break down crying as she held her knees close while Naga whined.
Later
Unalaq was in his throne room when he sensed Korra walked in.
"Are you finally ready to head to the North and open the portal?" Unalaq asked.
"No. And I'm not going to." Korra said shocking him.
"Korra you have to. The Dark spirits will..." Unalaq tried to say.
"Funny how they only showed up when you arrived." Korra said making him frown.
"What are you trying to say?" Unalaq asked.
"I think somehow you're behind this. You know a lot about spirits it wouldn't be surprising if you knew how to make them from light to dark and control them." Korra said.
"Your being ridicules. I have nothing to do with this." Unalaq said.
"Really? Then explain why no other Dark Spirits attacked while we were gone but they showed up when you were with us on our way to the portal? And how come the first one attacked Sean only and not me or anyone else?" Korra asked.
"A rather simple one. Like me they see him as a threat to the natural order and tried to fix it. Proving my theory even more so." Unalaq said making her glare.
"I should have killed you when I had the chance. You are worse than Amon and Tarlok." Korra said shocking him.
"Thats not true. Unlike them I don't use my gifts for myself." Unalaq said.
"And yet you tried to stop my wedding with lies about how you could stop a wedding if the person getting married was related to you. You left out the parts about you could only do that if you beat Sean in combat like Athena said. You didn't do it because you know you would lose in seconds like always. He beat you when he got back after 2 years and still beat you when he was heavily injured from fighting Ares who you brought here in the first place. You wanna know what the Irony is?" Korra asked.
"What are you talking about?" Unalaq asked.
"Your the reason he became the God slayer in the first place." Korra said making him frown.
"And how do you figure that?" Unalaq asked.
"If you had kept your mouth Shut Sean never would have gotten curious about where he came from and arrived at Avalar when you tried to drown him. You lead him down that path. Every god he's killed...Was because of you." Korra said making him widen his eyes seeing that was true. "I'm not opening that portal. And nothing will change my mind." Korra said leaving.
"Korra as the Avatar you..." Unalaq tried to say before she airbent him into the wall making him groan in pain.
"I may be the Avatar but i'm not some tool. You have ruined everything for me! I see perfectly why your wife killed herself. To get away from you in Death!" Korra yelled running away making him growl.
Meanwhile
"Ikki? Ikki where are you?" Tenzin called out.
"Over here, Dad!" Bumi called out in a child like voice before appearing from the bushes laughing. "Just kidding. It's me." Bumi said making him sigh as Kya rushed to them.
"There's no sign of her anywhere." Kya said.
"Why would Ikki run off like this?" Tenzin asked.
"The hell did you expect? Jinora and Meelo teased her. This is a usual reaction most of the time." Turok said.
"Ah, It's probably my fault." Tenzin said.
"Probably." Kya said.
"Excuse me?" Tenzin asked.
"I'm guessing you've been so busy with your DUTY to republic City that you forgot your duty to your kids." Kya said.
"Duty." Bumi said laughing.
"What are you. Five years old?" Kya asked.
"Kya, your right. I haven't been spending enough time with them. I wish I could be as good a father as dad was to us." Tenzin said.
"Uh hello Earth to son of Avatar who played favorites by accident." Turok said snapping his fingers in front of his face. "Your father clearly played favorites amongst you because you were an airbender. Hell when my old family was alive they would have lectured him to the point he would feel nothing but shame for his actions and believe me they could." Turok said.
"What do you mean when they were alive? Turok how exactly did Sean find you when he was at Avalar?" Kya asked concerned.
"I..." Turok tried to say but sighed. "I don't wanna talk about it. Besides its old history." Turok said before turning into a wolf and sniffed the ground before running off to fine Ikki.
"Well, he's clearly hiding something." Bumi said.
"Something clearly happened in the past that he doesn't want anyone to know." Tenzin said.
Meanwhile
Senna was walking to Korra's small hut before she heard her sobbing.
"Korra?" Senna asked before she walked in seeing her on her bed holding her knees.
"Not now mom. I just really need to be left alone." Korra said before she sat next to her and held her.
"Korra whats wrong?" Senna asked making her rub her eyes.
"I tried to talk to Sean but all he did was explain everything was my fault. He wouldn't even listen to me. I may as well have just ended my marriage!" Korra cried.
"Korra that isn't gonna happen he just needs his space. You can understand more than anyone why he's angry right now." Senna said.
"I did all of this thinking I was helping the tribe but all I did was make things even worse." Korra said.
"Korra the problems between the north and the South started long before you were even born. You can't solve them in a day. You're only human. Besides things might be out of your control anyway." Senna said.
"What are you talking about?" Korra asked.
"Varrick's been plotting a rebellion against Unalaq." Senna said.
"What? Please tell me Dad's not part of this?" Korra begged.
"I don't know. But I don't want you getting caught in the middle of it." Senna said.
"If I don't stop this now things will only get worse." Korra said rushing to Naga.
"Korra wait!" Senna said as they rushed off making her sigh before she headed back home.
When she arrived she found Sean outside next to a fire.
"Sean?" Senna said walking to him making him look up.
"Hey." Sean said.
"Sean I need an honest answer from you. Are you gonna divorce Korra?" Senna asked making him widen his eyes in shock.
"WHAT! Where in the hell would you get that idea from? I'm pissed at her sure but nothing would make me leave her." Sean said.
"Thats not what she thinks. Sean she is scared and terrified your marriage is over." Senna said making him sigh.
"Fuck. I admit I said some things that were over the line but I didn't actually mean them. I just wanted some space to cool off. Damnit. Where is she I gotta make this right." Sean said.
"She's going after Unalaq because Varrick is trying to start a rebellion." Senna said making him rush off.
When Korra arrived at the palace she found the guards were already knocked out.
"Oh, no." Korra said before rushing to his room only to find some rebels outside his door before someone carried him out knocked out cold. "Put him down." Korra said.
"Turn around, Avatar, and pretend you didn't see anything." One of them said.
"Look I'm really not in the best mood here. I don't like him anymore than you especially since he may have ruined my marriage but this will only make things worse." Korra said.
"Things are already bad. And it's all your fault!" One said before they attacked her all at once before a wall of ice blocked them shocking her.
"Ok. Now I'm pissed." Sean said appearing next to her before blasting them with lightning making them scream in pain before they passed out.
"Sean." Korra said surprised.
"Look. I admit I was royally pissed at you for taking his side. But everything else I said I said out of anger. I didn't actually mean it. I understand why you agreed to work with him from the beginning. I was just too angry to accept it." Sean said making her look down.
"If I knew he was so willing to kill you when we were kids I never would have..." Korra tried to say before he kissed her making her kiss back as she wrapped her arms around him.
"I know. I forgive you." Sean said as tears ran down her eyes as she held him.
"I love you." Korra said.
"I love you too." Sean said holding her close as she smiled at him before Unalaq came to and saw them and frowned.
"So...You two are still together." Unalaq said not happy his meddling didn't end their marriage like he hoped.
"You can try all you want but it's not ending for us. And your grip on the South ends now." Sean said making him scoff in amusement.
"Absurd. The Tribe needs a leader. And I'm the only one qualified to lead them." Unalaq said.
"Lets let them decide then when they agree for independence away from the North." Sean said shocking him while Korra smirked.
"You know what I like that idea." Korra said.
"YOU TWO WOULDN'T DARE!" Unalaq roared.
"Try us. And I think Tonraq would fit the position since he was meant to take his father's place in the North and would have treated his people with respect and not force anything on them like you do. Enjoy your grip while it lasts. The South will soon no longer be under your control." Sean said as they left making him growl in rage.
Walking outside Sean sighed as he looked at his feet.
"Why did you keep his boots anyway?" Korra asked about Hermes's boots.
"Quicker speeds." Sean said before a powerful roar was heard making them look seeing a giant metal statue of Helios arriving at the tribe.
"Oh you have got to be kidding me!" Korra yelled in disbelief.
"I'll give you one guess who sent this one." Sean said looking at the palace as Unalaq was seen making them glare. "I'll handle this." Sean said pulling his blades out.
Thats when Korra remembered the vision she had at the portal.
"Sean wait." Korra said stopping him. "I don't think thats a good idea. Let Reznov and the others handle it." Korra said.
"You really think they can handle that on their own? I've handled worse." Sean said rushing off after it.
Korra looked worried before looking back at Unalaq before noticing he was gone making her gasp.
"Korra!" Tonraq said as he and Senna rushed to her.
"Are you all right?" Senna asked.
"Yeah...But I have a really bad feeling Unalaq is up to something." Korra said worried for her husband.
Sean jumped on the colossus before it tried to smash him but he landed on the face before stabbing the right eye making it roar in pain before throwing him off into a building making him fall down into it.
"Ok that didn't go so well." Sean said jumping out before seeing the Colossus who roared at him before Sean had his wings appear before flying up and landed on the face before making an X formation scar on both sides of the face making it roar before it smacked him away.
"Ow." Sean said annoyed before it went towards Korra and her parents. "OH NO YOU DON'T!" Sean yelled jumping on the hand before stabbing the hand making it roar as it came off.
"Ouch." Korra said before Sean flew into the air.
"Ok this thing is getting on my nerves." Sean said as he took the blade of Olympus out before cutting his way inside.
"He's gonna destroy it from the inside out." Tonraq said before multiple explosions occurred.
"That should bring it down." Korra said as Sean jumped out of it before landing on a building.
"DO YOU SEE ZEUS! DO YOU NEED MORE PROOF THAN THIS!" Sean yelled before seeing it was about to fall on top of him. "Oh fuck." Sean said about to jump but couldn't. "WHAT!" Sean yelled seeing his feet were frozen to the ground making him look seeing Unalaq using his bending to keep him in place with a sick grin. "YOU MOTHER!" Sean yelled before it crashed down on top of him.
"NOOO!" Korra screamed in horror as Senna covered her mouth before Korra and Tonraq went looking for him.
From the Rubble Sean emerged as his armor began to crack apart before he fell to his knees and vomited blood.
"That son of a bitch." Sean said pissed off before getting waterbent into a wall hard making him groan before seeing him above him.
"At long last you are powerless to stop me." Unalaq said before creating an ice dagger before stabbing him several times making him groan in pain before encasing his head in water making him gasp for air. "Now...I'm going to finish what I tried 14 years ago. And the natural order will be restored." Unalaq said before Sean blasted him backwards making him gasp in surprise.
"Maybe your forgetting...But I command the sea now...Including the ability to breathe underwater. Your still no match for me." Sean said before blasting him with electricity making him roar in pain before falling to his knees.
"Sean!" Korra yelled rushing to her husband who vomited blood before she held him close.
"He...Froze my feet to keep me in place...And tried to drown me again!" Sean yelled pissed off making her glare at him as he got up and glared before Tonraq blasted him with water into wall making him grunt.
"This is the last straw Unalaq." Tonraq said glaring at him.
"You are all fools!" Unalaq said.
"Tell it to someone who fucking cares." Sean said as Korra and Tonraq helped him up. "Your finished. Once the people learn everything you've done...They'll cry for independence and you will have no choice but to pull back...Or war will be declared from all over the world...And my people in Sparta...Will wipe you out." Sean said glaring at him as he was carried away making him growl.
"And as for that portal once he's healed up I'm sealing it back up again. And this time I'll make sure it can never be unsealed." Korra said.
Meanwhile
Bumi grumbled as Kya used her waterbending to heal him.
"I told you those rocks were slippery. You're lucky you didn't kill yourself." Kya said annoyed.
"You done with the lecture, Mom?" Bumi asked annoyed.
"Oh, Grow up. You haven't changed one bit since we were kids. You're still trying to prove you can do everything a bender can. Well, you can't. Deal with it." Kya said.
"And your not our mother. You don't get to tell me what I can and can't do. So deal with that. UGH!" Bumi said as she dropped the water she used on his head.
"Good luck healing yourself with your non bending powers." Kya said as he shook off all the water.
"Hey, back me up here, Tenzin." Bumi said.
"Kya's right. You're the oldest of us, but you always acted like the youngest. I had to become the responsible one." Tenzin said.
"You think you're the responsible one? Where were you after Dad died and Mom was all alone? Because I was the only one who packed up and moved my whole life to be with her." Kya said ticked off by that remark.
"Sure, after years of flitting around the world, trying to find yourself. It was time for you to settle down somewhere. You two have no idea how it feels to have the future of an entire culture on your shoulders." Tenzin said.
"Oh, Boo-Hoo. Must've been real hard for you, flying around the world with dad. Riding Elephant-Koi all day." Bumi said.
"Oh so thats what this is about." Tenzin said before Turok in a bull form rammed them into a wall making them groan.
"What the!" Bumi yelled before the stone wall pulled them in leaving only their heads out.
"ENOUGH!" Turok yelled. "This nonsense is going to end now. You idiots are oblivious to what you have because of your father because he played favorites. Your gonna sort this out." Turok said.
"Turok we don't have time for this. Ikki is out there." Tenzin said.
"I'll find her. God my brother and I have issues at times but we sort that shit out in a heartbeat cause thats what siblings do. You wanna know how my brother found me? Perseus after killing my entire tribe using a rare poisonous gas killed them all like a coward when they couldn't move or fight back to brag about how he killed a tribe of warriors singlehandedly. I was the only one he didn't find because of my mother. He found me and took me in as his brother. Something I was grateful to have but you idiots are too blind to what you have." Turok said before turning into a cheetah and ran off leaving the three behind to sort out their differences.
Meanwhile
Sean groaned as he was recovering from his injuries from last night due to Unalaq.
"This is the last straw. He has got to be stopped." Korra said holding his hand.
"He will. But for now I need to recover since who knows what else he has planned." Sean said as he laid down in bed.
However thats when said person walked in the house.
"What do you think your doing here? GET OUT!" Tonraq yelled.
"No. Kruger is Under Arrest and will stand trial." Unalaq said as his forces moved in.
"Trial? For what?" Korra asked glaring at him.
"For conspiring to assassinate me. Now out of my way." Unalaq said before Korra got in the way.
"Make another move...And I'll kill you." Korra said.
"Either I take him in...Or I take your parents in since they held meetings with the rebels here." Unalaq said.
"We were trying to calm everyone down." Senna said.
"Varrick is the one who created a rebellion." Tonraq said.
"I'll deal with him later. Now move aside." Unalaq said.
"No." Korra said.
"Stop." Sean said making her freeze as he stood up with a groan. "Just for the record I know your lying about this trial. But it's gonna fail anyway." Sean said as his troops handcuffed him before taking him outside to a truck.
"You seriously can't help it can you!" Korra said glaring at him.
"This time I have reason for this. One of the Rebels admitted it was his idea to have me killed." Unalaq said.
"Then why did he help me stop them last night. That makes no sense!" Korra yelled.
"Clearly to gain my favor but it failed. Though Rest Assured I have appointed Judge Hotah to oversee the trial. He will deliver a fair verdict to your...Husband." Unalaq said leaving.
"I very much doubt that." Korra said running off.
Meanwhile
Asami and the others were in Varrick's office.
"Where's Varrick? We should've closed our deal an hour ago." Asami said.
"Maybe he died from one of his crazy ideas." Luke joked making Julia and Reznov laugh since he was crazy.
"Would you relax? This place is great. And the best part about it? Eska doesn't know I'm here." Bolin said making Reznov and Julia scoff in disgust since Bolin started dating her and unsurprisingly she treated him like a slave.
"You have the worst taste. Honestly I don't think even Amara's sisters would date her brother or fuck him for obvious reason. And Even the guys back home in Avalar would rather die in battle than fuck her" Reznov said.
And thats when she and her brother along with soldiers walked in making Bolin freak out.
"I wasn't hiding!" Bolin said quickly making them snicker.
"I'm not on the hunt for you. Currently." Eska said.
"We search for Varrick. Our father wishes for him to stand trial." Desna said.
"What did he do?" Asami asked?
"He is a traitor to the Water Tribe, along with our cousin's husband who was arrested." Eska said.
"Say what?" Reznov asked.
"What?" Asami asked.
"Sean were arrested?" Luke asked.
"Yes. Your powers of deduction are impressive. Then again you are friends with freak of nature." Desna mocked before grunting as Reznov blasted him with lightning.
"OUT MOTHER FUCKERS!" Reznov yelled as lightning bounced off him while Julia glared as did Luke making the troops run out in fear.
"Very well. Boyfriend! Bow to me when I exit!" Eska ordered making him do that. "You are so cute when you grovel." Eska said as they left before Reznov growled and pulled him up hard.
"OW!" Bolin yelled in pain.
"WHAT the fuck is wrong with you! Be a fucking man! Stand up for yourself you fucking dumb shit!" Reznov yelled.
"I gotta be honest he's right. You need to stand up for yourself." Asami said.
"I tried to break up with her, but Mako gave me terrible advice. Thank you, Mako." Bolin said.
"Just end it already. Hell my mother if she was alive would be disgusted." Luke said.
"Bolin, you need to be honest with her. Tell her how you really feel." Asami said.
"Yes...Tell her she's a waste of flesh and not even the gods that Kruger has inside would fuck her." Reznov said before Julia smacked him upside the head. "Ok I might have earned that." Reznov said making Luke snicker.
"Honesty is for fools, kid!" Varrick said though muffled
"Varrick? Where are ya?" Luke asked.
"Somewhere Unalaq will never find me." Varrick said before appearing out of the platypus bear. "Inside Ping-Ping!" Varrick said.
"Ok, I'm impressed. Cost is clear You can come out now." Reznov said.
"No way, Mister. Not until I know it's. absolutely, 157% safe." Varrick said before a cup of tea appeared from inside. "Thank you, Zhu Li." Varrick said.
"Wait she's in there?" Asami asked surprised.
"Zhu Li never leaved my side." Varrick said drinking his tea only to spit it out in disgust. "PYUGH! You forgot the honey!" Varrick said annoyed.
"Sorry sir. There isn't any in here." Zhu Li said.
"No Honey? We're in a bear, for crying out loud!" Varrick said.
Meanwhile
Everyone was at the courthouse for the trial.
Sean however was chained from his arms spread out to hold him in place with the chains attached to the walls.
"This is inhuman." Senna said seeing some of Sean's wounds reopening due to his position as he growled.
Thats when Korra was asked to step forward.
"According to Unalaq's testimony, you attended a meeting where Varrick tried to incite a civil war. Is that true?" Hotah asked Korra.
"Yes." Korra said.
"And was your husband present at that meeting?" Hotah asked.
"No he and I...Had some issues in our marriage because of Unalaq which was his intent." Korra said.
"That is all." Hotah said making her frown as she glared at Unalaq who grinned at Sean making her growl.
"It's gonna be Ok Korra." Tonraq said.
After a few more questions everything came to an end.
"I have now reached a verdict. Sean Ashburn Kruger. I find you guilty of plotting Chief Unalaq's assassination." Hotah said shocking everyone. "The Punishment for this crime...Is Death which will be carried out at once." Hotah said further shocking everyone.
"Any last words?" Unalaq asked grinning.
"Yeah one." Sean said grinning which unsettled him. "You said there was a witness that claimed it was my idea to have you killed." Sean said.
"I did. Proving that not everyone here is a fool and you are not as welcomed as you think." Unalaq said.
"Then where is he?" Sean asked making him frown before everyone wondered the same thing. "If there is this so called witness we should hear it from him." Sean said making him glare.
"I don't have to bring him forward just so everyone else can later attempt to take his life." Unalaq said.
"Then how do we know your telling the truth? You've lied on countless occasions especially on my wedding about you being able to stop it by your word alone." Korra said.
"This conversation is over. Kill him." Unalaq said as his men were about to do do only for Sean to pull one of the chains out of the wall before wrapping it around Unalaq's left arm making him groan as he tried to remove it.
"I wouldn't do that. Little nasty spell was just put on it. Now you have to answer my question truthfully. Or else the chain will kill you in an instant." Sean said shocking him. "Now...Was there actually a witness who claims the idea to kill you was my idea? And better answer truthfully." Sean said grinning making him growl before lowering his head.
"No...There never was." Unalaq said making the crowd from the South shout at him in rage.
"I KNEW IT!" Korra yelled before freeing her husband who fell into her arms making her smile as she kissed him.
"Fine! The trial was a sham to remove him. Since all of you are fools!" Unalaq said.
"One last question. And everyone so has the right to know this. Ares came here because you summoned him correct?" Sean asked making those from the South widen their eyes in shock while Unalaq growled.
"Yes...I summoned him." Unalaq said further angering the South.
"And if he had destroyed the Tribe just to kill me...How would you react to that?" Sean asked.
"I would have been perfectly fine with that." Unalaq said making more shout out in rage that he cared so little about them. "Now get this chain off of me!" Unalaq roared.
"Why? Theres nothing wrong with it." Sean said shocking him. "I lied about the spell. Korra told me you didn't know about the pearls so I knew you didn't know how spells worked. I can only cast spells through words and I said nothing. You really should have done your homework on me as I have on you." Sean said making him seethe in rage that he had been played.
"And now the South will want to severe all ties with the North for independence. And it once more is your fault. Proving you are the worst leader of the North." Korra said.
"ARGH!" Unalaq roared trying to blast them with Water but Sean beat him to the punch...Literally. Unalaq crashed into a wall before Sean stood over him.
"Your finished. The South will never be yours again. And we're gonna close that portal. I have a feeling you had an alterer motive for wanting it open." Sean said as they left.
Later
"Why are we going after Hotah?" Korra asked as they waited for his care to pass.
"Call it a hunch. I have a feeling he knows certain things. Unalaq said he was honorable and fair. And yet he never asked me any questions. Does that sound fair?" Sean asked making her frown before his car approached before Sean jumped on it making him groan before Sean pulled him out and slammed him into it.
"What do you want?" Hotah asked in fear.
"Information. During the Trial you never once asked me any questions which leads me to believe you were hired by Unalaq." Sean said.
"Look I was just following his orders like I always do." Hotah said.
"Uh oh. You messed up." Mimir said.
"What are you talking about?" Korra asked.
"Nothing." Hotah said quickly before Dojo appeared with his mouth open wide as Korra hanged him in making him yelp in fear.
"Unless you want to be Dojo's snack you'll spill everything you know." Korra said.
"I've worked for your uncle for years." Hotah said.
"So he told you exactly what to say? Word for word?" Sean asked.
"Yes! Everything!" Hotah said.
"Is there anything else we should know?" Korra asked.
"He's trying everything to get you back on his side. But he wants your husband and father out of the way. Just like when he got your father banished." Hotah said shocking them.
"Wait what?" Sean asked.
"What do you mean got my father banished?" Korra asked.
"N-Nothing!" Hotah yelled.
"KEEP TALKING!" Sean said with his eyes glowing green.
Later
Sean and Korra ran back home.
"Tonraq!" Sean yelled as they rushed in but found Senna on the couch sobbing.
"Mom?" Korra asked as she sat down next to her.
"What happened?" Sean asked.
"Unalaq's men came and arrested Tonraq." Senna said.
"FUCK! I'll bet you anything he did this once we learned the truth." Sean said.
"What truth?" Senna asked.
"Unalaq has been lying from the very beginning. Those barbarians that attacked his tribe 20 years ago? Unalaq hired them and told them to hide in the forest knowing he would go after them. He wanted him out of the way so he could become chief." Sean said shocking her.
"But...Why?" Senna asked.
"He wanted to enforce his ways on the North. He can't accept that times are changing and wants everyone to be like him. Spiritually enlightened." Mimir said.
"Talk about a guy who can't accept reality." Dojo said around Sean's neck.
"Hmm. We'll bust Tonraq out. Dojo go tell Luke and the others whats happened and tell Varrick he fucking owes us one for starting all this crap or I'll kill him...Slowly." Sean said.
"Right away." Dojo said slithering off.
Later
At the prison a Northern water tribe soldier stood guard before a water blade went through his throat making him choke on his own blood before dying.
Thats when Sean and Korra came up.
"Lets find him." Korra said.
"Wait a second hold up." Sean said as his eyes glowed green. "I don't sense him here." Sean said.
"I'm sorry, Korra." Unalaq said making his presence known. "You'll never see your father again." Unalaq said.
"Where's my father?" Korra demanded glaring at him.
"On a ship heading to the Northern Water Tribe. There he'll serve out his sentence." Unalaq said.
"Bring him back. Or I'm taking you out and the entire northern water tribe by myself." Sean said.
"Thats your answer to everything. Simple kill anyone in your way. But what else would I expect from a spawn of a man who killed his first wife and child 10,000 years and then had you." Unalaq said making him growl.
"At least my father didn't willingly have his own people murdered like you did. You ordered those thugs to kill your own people like they mean nothing. And for what? To enforce your will on your people? I'm willing to bet you had your own father killed so you could take over immediately." Sean said.
"So what? My ways have paid off. My entire tribe is spiritually enlightened." Unalaq said proud.
"Against their will. Once they learn the truth however though they'll turn on you." Sean said.
"You make it sound like they'll listen to you. Their loyalty lies with me as I am their chief. Just as your people's loyalty lies with their king. Thats how it's always worked." Unalaq said.
"Only difference between you and his people is the King or Queen of Sparta would never kill their own people so casually. Your just a mad power hungry dog." Mimir said making him glare.
"If you start a war the Dark spirits..." Unalaq tried to say.
"Funny how they only showed up after you did. Your doing this somehow I can just tell." Sean said making him frown.
"You have your views which like the rest of the world are completely flawed." Unalaq said before attacking them only for Sean to dash at him with insane speed making him gasp before Sean delivered a deadly blow making him crash into the wall. Sean was about to attack again when Unalaq created a thick wall of ice and ran off.
"Forget about him we gotta find my dad." Korra said.
"She's right brother. You can deal with him later." Mimir said.
"GRRR! FINE!" Sean yelled as they rushed off.
Arriving on Varrick's boat they saw him and the others.
"Where's your dad?" Bolin asked.
"On a ship heading north." Korra said before they saw the blockade of ships in the way.
"I'll handle this." Sean said pulling out the Blade of Olympus before it started to glow brightly before Sean sent a wave of great and destructive power towards them destroying a large number of them allowing them safe passage
Meanwhile
Turok in his Bison form had Ikki on his back after they had a nice talk about the good things of having siblings from his point of view before they arrived back at the temple.
"Thank you Turok." Pemma said before noticing something. "Wait...Where are Tenzin, Kya and Bumi?" Pemma asked.
"Right here." Tenzin said walking to them with Kya and Bumi.
"So have we learned a valuable lesson?" Turok asked amused.
"We're good now." Kya said smiling before Tenzin placed a hand on Turok's shoulder.
"Turok I am sorry for what happened to you in the past. But perhaps it helped you become someone far wiser than I initially realized. The one thing you value most like your brother is Family even if it's not by blood." Tenzin said making him smile.
"Yeah...Thats something he made me realize." Turok said.
Meanwhile
After finding Tonraq and the rebels they told the truth.
"So once we knew the truth, we couldn't sit by and do nothing." Korra said.
"My own brother betrayed me. And our entire tribe." Tonraq said.
"Whats our next move?" one of the Rebels asked.
"I've been running from my past for too long. It's time I put my brother in his place." Tonraq said.
"You have our support, chief Tonraq."
"Ours too." Korra said holding Sean close.
"No. You both have to head back to Republic City and get the United forced to help us by letting them know the South decided for independence and Unalaq is forcing his will on the people. The South can give a good fight until you show up." Tonraq said before his daughter hugged him.
"I love you dad." Korra said.
"I love you too." Tonraq said.
Soon the rebels made it to shore.
"He'll be fine Korra." Sean said holding her close making her sigh as she rested her head on his chest.
"I really need to thank you, Korra." Bolin said.
"For what? I started a civil war." Korra said.
"You didn't start anything. Unalaq did this and clearly has been planning for some time. Although...I can't help but wonder." Sean said.
"What is it?" Korra asked.
"Why did he really want the Spirit portals open. There has to be some endgame." Sean said.
"Doesn't matter. Now my relationship with Eska is finished." Bolin said proudly making everyone sweat-drop.
"You are gonna die a virgin." Reznov said making Julia and the girls snicker while he looked offended as Luke and Sean chuckled.
"Oh, looks like we have company. And not the fun kind!" Varrick said as they saw some large wave approaching them.
"The hell is that?" Luke asked before Bolin took out a scope before gasping in shock before rubbing his eyes to look again. To his horror it was Eska with makeup running down her face with an enraged look. (No matter how many times I see this I'm still horrified)
"Yikes!" Reznov said in shock.
"Oh boy. And I thought Amara went crazy when you two got engaged." Luke said.
"Compared to this she looked and acted sane." Korra said.
"No doubt." Mimir said.
"Yup." Dojo said.
"Anyone feel like throwing the groom overboard?" Julia joked making the girls giggle.
"NOOOO!" Bolin screamed in fear.
"Varrick get us out of here." Sean said.
"Why do you think I built this boat!" Varrick said before driving away from the crazy bride.
Authors Note: WOW! This chapter turned amazing! I didn't think It would be so long but I'm not complaining. And now the Civil war for The South's independence begins.
