Eyes On You

Recovery Girl was having a really good day, and honestly she was surprised it was lasting for so long. Usually during Sports Festivals she would have at least a handful of students in her stadium infirmary by now. But she hadn't seen a single hair of a student so far.

And that's when her door got kicked open.

"HEY OLD LADY! YOU HERE?!" She heard and sighed as her dream of having an injury free Sports Festival went down the drain. She let out a huff of breath as she turned around in her swivel chair to glare at the child that called her an old lady.

The words she was going to yell died in her throat as she stared at the panting blond kid in her room as he held a redheaded girl in his arms, one whose face was contorted in pain. "Place her on the bed." She ordered and the boy obliged, quickly moving and setting the girl on one of the many beds across the room.

"What happened?" She asked as she came over, looking for damage. She almost cursed when she saw the skin on her face, more prominently around her eyes, held most of the damage.

The blond looked worried, but didn't answer. A third child, one who she had not seen come in, who was pink answered instead. "There was some guy that could copy quirks in the paintball match, he copied Bakugo-kun's quirk and used it on Kiri." She answered.

Recovery Girl turned towards the blond who's eyes hadn't shifted away from his friend on the bed, and the look of pain on her face. "What's your quirk boy?"

"I have nitroglycerin like sweat…" He whispered before gritting his teeth and gulping. "I can make it explode.." He added, his fist clenching at his side.

Recovery Girl held in a sigh as she prodded at the girl on the bed. "Are you awake, dearie?" The girl gave a grunt of assertion. "Open your mouth up then." The girl did so and Recovery Girl popped a gummy into her mouth, "Chew that, I can heal the skin near your eyes but I'm not confident in being able to heal your eyesight.. I'm afraid your sight might be damaged afterwards." She said as she stalked off.

Bakugo held in all of his curses, all of the profanities he knew, as he grit his teeth. "I'm going to tear that shit apart." He said calmly to no one. It held no anger in it, and it sounded more like a promise one that he would differently make happen.

Mina looked worriedly between her horn buddy and one of her new friends. She had known Kirishima for the longest time and she didn't want her friend's dream and life in general to be ruined because of something some jerk in a festival did because he was just an asshole.

She held her hands together and messed with them as she audibly heard the sound of Bakugo's hand clenching harder.

"Bakugo-kun, maybe we can get someone to heal her eyes?" She suggested nervously to try and raise Bakugo's mood. The boy just stood there with his head down for a while before it jolted up. "Eh? Bakugo-kun?"

"Deku…" He muttered.

Mina raised a brow, "What about Midori?"

The blonde stood blankly for a while, "HE HEALED HIS FUCKING EYES AFTER THE BATTLE TRIAL!" He yelled and get smacked in his shins, courtesy of Recovery Girl, "Fuck!" He yelled as he grabbed at his leg.

"If you're gonna yell do it somewhere else! My patient needs to rest for, she might have to drop out.." She grumbled that last part but the two still heard it.

Bakugo grumbled before bolting it out of the infirmary. "Bakugo-kun, wait up!" Mina yelled as she chased after him. But the boy kept on sprinting, feeling inclined to even use his explosive speed turbo, he was sweaty enough to do it, but he decided against it.

He raced through the halls of the arena before finding himself in the center again, all the other students gathered there. His eyes briefly traveled to the scoreboard, finding that his team, along with Deku's and Ponytail's, would be moving on. Along with some asshat named Shinso, a team from 1-B, and they were currently deciding who the 16th participant would be.

But honestly, he didn't give a damn about that right now, his eyes went across the crowd as Mina finally caught up to him. "You could've gone a little slower, you know.." She got out between pants for breath.

She was largely ignored as Bakugo found who he was looking for, "DEKU!"

Izuku

Izuku and his team, along with Itsuka's, walked across the field looking for their classmates. The greanette still didn't have a shirt on and he squirmed under the gaze of Tokage. Eventually they found Momo's team though.

"Momo, Ochako, Sho!" Izuku called out with a smile as he found them. Though he had to stifle a laugh when he saw Ochako stuck in the arena floor. "How did that happen?" He asked with a chuckle.

He saw Momo and Ochako light up like fireworks and he tilted his head in curiosity. "What's wrong?"

Yanagi came beside him, "I believe it is due to your current state of attire Midoriya-kun." She said blandly. The boy quirked a brow, before looking down and remembering he wasn't wearing a shirt, promptly covering himself with his arms.

"Ah! Momo can you make me a shirt, please!" He asked as he covered himself with his arms. The red faced raven haired teen turned around, a pink glow being seen, before handing him a basic white-tee shirt. Izuku quickly put it on and apologized.

"It's fine Izuku, really, but how did you lose your shirt?" Momo asked as she calmed her blush down.

The greanette's eyes lit up as he pulled out a notebook-

"Where did you get that?"

And motioned to Komori Kinoko who hadn't spoken until now, "Komori-chan's quirk! It lets her summon, create, manipulate, basically it's all about mushrooms. She summoned a bunch in the hallway me, Hatsume-chan and Yanagi-chan were in. But I didn't get to see any of it in action! So I'm kind of mad at myself for getting rid of the mushrooms before I could see what they could do!" Izuku's eyes filled with stars as he continued to talk about what he wondered about Komori's quirk, the girl herself flinching away because she didn't want to be put on the spot with questions.

Tokage pouted and wrapped an arm around Izuku's neck, bringing her to his bust, "Yeah and what about me! My quirk's pretty damn cool too!" She yelled.

Izuku's hair stood up as his eyes seemingly glowed with excitement, "Your quirk is really cool too Tokage-chan!" He said with a wide smile. "Momo! She can split apart her body and move them telepathically! It's so cool!" The boy almost vibrated with excitement.

"Tell her the thing I did with my arm stump!" Tokage smiled and Izuku's mood drooped.

"That was the most disgusting thing I've seen in my life Tokage-chan…" Izuku groaned. "But it is a very useful ability..!" He regained his vigor as he began writing about his fellow greanette's quirk in his book. Tokage let him go as he began to mumble, going so fast that none of them could understand.

Well almost none of them.

"Thousand, but what about her costume! If she loses a part of her costume, let's say a sleeve and she regrows her arm then what can we do to make it regrow or something like that?!" Mei bounced next to him as he paused.

He put a thumb on his chin and developed a look of thinking, before a lightbulb appeared above his head. "DNA costume! Some heroes use their own DNA with things like hair to make their own costume! Maybe that could work Hatsume-chan!"

Mei grinned widely, "That sounds perfect!" She yelled before turning to Tokage, "Greeny! Give me your hair!"

"What! I'm not giving you my hair!"

"Do it come on!"

"No!"

"Come on!"

"NO!"

Izuku chuckled a bit as Mei clammored Tokage to say yes. He looked at his notebook, looking at his two new entries with Tokage and Komori, before closing his notebook with a smile. "Everyone at UA is so amazing.." He muttered to himself.

He looked at his friends and saw Ochako still stuck in the floor, he stifled a laugh as he approached, "Ochako, need some help?" He asked as he kneeled next to her and placed a hand on the ground.

The brunette sweatdropped and rubbed the back of her head, "Couldya?" She asked and Izuku nodded.

He closed his eyes as he focused on the ground beneath him, 'Ok..I want the concrete to develop water like properties.. focus, change its state… earth to water. Let it go from solid to.. letting it flow.' He breathed deep as he pressed down, his hand sinking into cement. He opened his eyes and smiled as Ochako grabbed onto a hand he offered and was pulled out of the cement, the elemental repeating the process but backwards to solidify the cement soon after.

He stood and smiled. "Izuku." He turned to Momo as she spoke, "I didn't know you could do that." She said.

The boy smiled, "I didn't either, but it took concentration, I don't know if I can work up to it not taking as much or not, but I wanna work on that after the festival is over."

Momo nodded, "Perhaps we could theorize about it during our lunch date, no?" She asked with a tilt of her head and a smile.

Izuku's face instantly gained a red hue. "Y-Yeah, we could do that." He responded with his best attempt at a smile. Though it came off a bit wobbly.

The rich girl clapped her hands together, "Alright, and I can't wait to hear your thoughts about redesigning my costume as well!" She said with a wide smile.

"Ok.." Izuku said as he looked away. He looked around the stadium to distract himself just a bit, and his eyes landed on the scoreboard, "Momo you guys passed! So did we and Kacchan's team too!" He said with a smile, he noticed Tetsutetsu's team also passed and he was excited about those possibilities. And Aoyama and Ojiro had passed with someone named Shinso too!

That was interesting, he wondered what quirks Tetsutetsu's team had, and that Shinso guy too.

He was going to ask Itsuka about Tetsutetsu's team as he held his book in his hands but he heard a yell, "DEKU!" One he knew only one person would ever say, and one that held pain and anguish in it.

It sounded strained. 'Kacchan's voice never stains..'

"I swear it's like he has super vocal cords as a power too or something." He heard Kokoro say it, but he didn't respond at all. He turned and saw his friend running to him, Mina following behind. Both looked very tired.

Before he knew what was happening he was right next to his friend, his lightning activating on its own and allowing him to appear next to Bakugo. The blond panted, squatting with his hands on his thighs, "Kacchan, is something wrong? You look really tired, have you seen Recovery Girl?" He asked as he reached for his friend.

The blond knocked Izuku's hand away before planting his own on his friend's shoulder, "Deku, you healed your eyes, right?! When that shit happened during All Might's stupid fucking battle trial! Right?!" He shook the greanette by his shoulders.

"Ah y-yeah I did! Why do you ask?" Izuku asked with nervousness in his voice, he had never seen Bakguo be so… serious before.

"Can you use that shit on other people?!" His friend shook him again. By now, the people Izuku was talking with and other surrounding students, had crowded them, wondering what was going on.

Izuku nodded slowly, before determination burned in his eyes and he spoke, "Yes, I can." The greanette felt whiplash when he saw a look of hope or something similar appear in his friend's eyes. Nothing was said to him, but he knew there was someone that needed help. "Where are they?" He asked.

"Old hag's infirmary.." The blonde got out and Izuku nodded.

"I'll see you there then, and-" He laid a hand on his friend's shoulder "Everything will be fine, I promise!" He said with a smile.

"I DON'T NEED YOUR DAMN SYMPATHY, NOW GET YOUR ASS OVER THERE!" Bakugo yelled.

"Roger roger Kacchan!" Izuku said with a salute and rushed off. He ran through the halls, signs on the corners pointing towards the arena seats and to the infirmary. He twisted around the final corner and quickly entered the room, he spotted Recovery Girl and Eiko in the room, no one else though.

The Youthful Heroine turned around at the souund of someone coming in and cursed when she saw Izuku, "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE NOW! I SWEAR IF YOU BROKE SOMETHING I'LL-"

Izuku put his hands up as if it was a robbery, "Nothing! Nothing I swear! Plus don't hit me!" He pleaded. The old pro huffed and sighed.

"Alrighty then, explain, what are you doing here then?" She asked as she pointed her cane at the boy, making him shiver slightly. "No one just ups and visits here."

Izuku chuckled, "I'm actually here to help Kirishima-chan" He said and his gaze drifted to the girl on the bed, "I assume something happened with her eyes?" He questioned as he remembered Bakugo asking specifically if he healed his eyes, and the way the girl's face was scrunched made it seem like her face was in mild pain.

Recovery Girl huffed again, hopping off of her rotating chair and approaching Eiko's bed. "Yes, I actually called Aizawa and Yamada to ask if they saw anything, Monoma from 1-B." She wanted to pinch her nose, that boy was a problem, "His quirk is copy, if you didn't know. Somehow he copied an explosion quirk and then used it on the girl's face, I can only assume her eyes were open, I have no idea how her face isn't gone right now but I can assume it was due to her own quirk." She shook her head, "There's a high chance her eyes are damaged and my quirk is useless with those things-"

"But mine isn't." Izuku cut in, his words making Recovery Girl turn to him in curiosity. He saw her look and decided to explain, "After the battle trial I found out I can use water to heal, I'm not sure if I can do it with other elements but I can do it with water, I healed my own eyes with it." He explained.

Recovery Girl stood, accidentally dropping her cane, "You're quirk is bullshit." She said, inadvertently making Kokoro laugh. "Healing quirks are rare, to have a healing property in your quirk! It's almost unheard of!"

Izuku put his hands up again, "Well I can do it, so it's not impossible, right?" He offered with a nervous smile.

Recovery Girl huffed, "Do it, I'm going to observe, and after the sports festival you will be my nurse's assistant, got that?" She pointed her cane at his throat, which considering the tip was the edge of a needle, was very threatening.

Izuku gulped, "Y-Yes ma'am."

"Good, now let me observe." She said and Izuku nodded. He went to a nearby sink and turned it on, making little water bubbles float around the room. He raised a brow before turning the sink off. "What's all this about?" Recovery Girl asked.

Izuku turned to her, noticing she was looking at the floating bubbles of water around her infirmary. "Oh, my water condenses when I use it to heal something. So I usually need a lot of water to do something." He explained as he stood over Eiko's bed. "Hey Kirishima-chan, are you awake? Can you hear me?" He asked in a low, kind voice.

He got a stiff nod in return. The girl's eyes were shut and scrunched up, an obvious sign of the pain she was in. "Ok, I'm going to heal you, so don't freak out. I need you to stay calm, ok?" He got another nod.

He sighed as the bubbles of water that surrounded him converged into one massive bubble that sat above Eiko's bed. Izuku closed his eyes and took a deep breath. 'Peace and Concentration..' He thought to himself as he emptied his head.

Nothing mattered right now, besides helping Kacchan and Eiko, that was his one and only duty right now. He had to do this. It was his job as a hero and as a friend to those two. 'I can..' Izuku thought as he released another deep breath.

Recovery Girl watched in wonder as Izuku's hair greyed and then turned to white. "What in the world.." She muttered but otherwise decided to stay quiet.

Izuku opened his eyes and gazed at Eiko, she looked like she was in so much pain. 'No.. I must..' Izuku nodded as the bubble of water swirled around the room, the liquid glowing white. Izuku's face was emotionless, not smile, nothing was present but determination.

Recovery Girl looked around the room, apparently a lot had happened with the reckless boy she had first met, what had he learned? How much training had he put in? How much had he developed his skills? Were some of the few questions she had, but also. 'WHY IN THE BLAZES DID NO ONE TELL ME HE COULD HEAL PEOPLE?!' She was going to have Nezu's, or maybe Aizawa's, probably Toshinori's, head for this.

The water made its way to Izuku's outstretched hands, the bubble condensing to the point where it barely fit in Izuku's hands. Izuku looked at Eiko, "You're going to feel something over your eyes, don't worry it's safe." Izuku said and the redhead nodded again. Izuku placed his hands over the girl's eyes and kept them there.

Eiko flinched a little when she felt the strange thing over her eyes, it felt like water but not at the same time? It felt like water, but also it felt very relaxing in a way. Like it was washing her worries away. But soon, the feeling washed away. And she felt as if the water was gone as well.

Izuku sighed and removed his hands, his white hair fading back to its natural color as well. "That should be it Kirishima-chan, try opening your eyes." He said. The girl sat up in her bed, her eyes fluttered open, wincing at the brightness of the room but not of pain at all. He eyes just needed to adjust. Eventually she opened them all the way back up and looked around, seeing Recovery Girl and then Izuku. "Are you ok?" He asked.

She numbly nodded. Her eyes only burned for a few dozen minutes. But it felt like a lot longer to her, and it was extremely painful too. So now that it was gone, she was relieved but also felt slightly numb. "Yeah, I'm good." She said distantly.

Izuku nodded, "Alright, I'm gonna go, I think Kacchan and Ashido-chan will be here soon to check up on you You made it to the tournament too so don't forget to head to the stadium when you're ready." He left soon after, finding his best friend and Mina in the halls, he smiled. "She's alright, go check on her." The blonde sprinted past him towards the infirmary, Mina letting out a breath of relief, giving him a thank you hug before following Bakugo.

Izuku smiled at their backs as he made his way back to the arena.

"Good job Midoriya, you're tapping into your power easier now, and you managed to help a friend as well, I'm proud." Tamada said to Izuku as the boy wandered through the halls.

The boy nodded after a second. 'It's not enough though, I need to do better if I want to be the best hero I can. I need to lower the time it takes me to enter my elemental states, to the point where it's almost instantaneous. For now it takes too long, it's not viable in combat.' No villain would just give him time to power up, only an idiot would do that. He knew this, he knew he had to do better, but for now he was happy. He helped a friend after all.

He smiled to himself again "KID TWELVE O' CLOCK!" Kokoro screeched as Izuku bumped into someone. The boy jumped back real quick, this had happened with Endeavor and Izuku didn't know if it was him again, he raised his head, only to see another hero in Endeavor's place.

There was no mistaking it, the slim but sharp costume and the spiky grey hair. Despite the short stature of the man he still had an aura to him that commanded respect. The crimson scarf and the dark blue mask that accentuated the man's eyes, which commanded fear out of criminals, there was no mistaking it! "NUMBER FIVE HERO: EDGESHOT!" Izuku yelled and his cry echoed through the halls, probably sounding throughout the arena.

His famed notebook was once again in his hands, manifesting out of thin air, and the teen was instantly upon the man. "Mr. Edgeshot sir! May you sign my notebook please!" He pleaded as he opened his notebook to his page on the hero.

The man took a step back, he had dealt with fans before but overexcited fangirls and fanboys were always a tough one for him. He was a quiet, borderline antisocial man. He preferred to stay in the back when things happened in groups, so being confronted like this in a lone hallway wasn't particularly something he wanted.

His gaze fell to the notebook the currently bowing boy was holding out for him to sign. He sighed as he took it, "Very well." He said, his mask moving to match his jaw as the words came out. He eyed the page the boy opened it up to, it had him on it. Notes about his abilities, physical abilities as well as his quirk, and then a drawing as well.

The boy had him drawn in a cool looking pose, holding a giant four pointed shuriken. It almost made him chuckle, since the kid added it for the cool factor, Edgeshot didn't use shuriken so there was no point in drawing it.

But all the other information was correct, the written information that is. It actually made him smirk a little. He grabbed a pen out of his pouch and signed under the drawing. The signature was wild and spiky, matching the pro's outfit but contrasting his personality. He nodded and held the notebook out for the greanette who was grinning ear to ear.

"Thank you Edgeshot sir!" Izuku smiled as he took his book back, holding it to his chest like a christmas present he had waited all year to get. 'That's two out of 9 for the top 10!' Izuku cheered in his head. Of course he knew how numbers worked but he didn't want his autograph.

"No problem kid." Edgeshot said as he turned down the hall and walked away. Izuku smiled and nodded to himself, turning to head back to the stadium, "Wait!" At the call he turned back around, Edgeshot was standing away with his arms crossed. "Your skills have garnered some of my peer's attention, you have eyes on you Midoriya, even those that hate others and see personal strength as absolute have taken an interest in you, I've seen it myself, so don't disappoint. Perhaps if you win, I might send you an internship letter." The grey haired man spoke with eyebrows down in seriousness.

"I- thank you sir." Izuku bowed at a ninety degree angle, when he rose he saw that the man was gone. "He really is a ninja.. so COOL!" He smiled, running back towards the arena. There was still the tournament to be done.

END

Ok, yeah this is shorter than most other chapters but I actually wanted to end it here, so sorry if you wanted something longer.
