Chapter 25 - Time for Encore!

Thomas kicked on the doorknob. "Damn it! It's locked!"

William laughed again, raising his hands up to make his dark tendrils higher.

I lifted up my baseball bat, ready to fight.

CRASH!

"WILLIAM AFTON!" yelled a voice.

William turned around.

It was Henry. He was hovering close to his face and his hands clenched in fists. His teeth were gritted, shaking in anger.

"Oh ho, ho, ho!" said William, crossing his arms. "Didn't expect you to return."

"Oh, I'm back alright," growled Henry. "And this time, I'm not going to let you hurt anyone else!"

His whole body was surrounded in black flames and his body was glowing white. He immediately flew towards William and actually punched him squarely in the chest. The former let out a yelp as he tumbled backwards, nearly falling over.

William was caught off a little, but he looked a little more excited. "I see that you've been growing stronger with those powers I gave you. But you're still weak because you keep worrying about your pathetic daughter!"

Henry smirked a little. "And I see that you've been loopier than before. Don't think that I forgot that you're still holding onto the death of your son!"

"Burn…" I said, feeling a new dark wave of rage steaming from the Puppet giant.

William suddenly turned dark. The cheerful tone in his voice turned riled and livid, the dark tendrils turned into spikes and his fists began shaking. The grin on his face turned upside down and his white mark turned dark grey.

"Oh really?" he said. "You're looking for a fight?!"

"Oh, yes, I am!"

"THEN COME AT ME, YOU BLOWHARD!"

With that, Henry charged again and William screeched, lunging at him. I watched as the small ghost fought against the tall animatronic entity. I noticed how fierce William suddenly became; he kept this cool demeanor the whole time and then it broke loose when his son was mentioned. That seemed to tip him off. The wild William attacked on Henry, but the latter didn't seem to be harmed. In fact, he appeared calm as he dodged and attacked, not changing his expression.

I looked back to see Athello kicking the door down. It went out in a crash and toppled down.

"Yes!" said Thomas. "One step close!"

We ran into a larger room that was all in grey. There were torches lined up on the walls; the flames licking up on the stone walls, daring to burn up anything that get in its way. On the far side of the room, there was the pentagram painted on the floor. It was in blood red, nearly fresh. And on there were Squidgy and Finn who were passing each other a large book.

"Do it!" said Squidgy. "Do it!"

"What do you expect from me?!" hissed Finn. "You know that I couldn't get this spell right!"

"Neither can I! You're more braver than me!"

"Finn!" I cried. "Squidgy!"

We made it to them, stopping by on top of the pentagram.

"Is something wrong?" said Thomas.

"There IS something wrong!" shouted Finn, shoving the book into my hands. "We tried saying those weird words, but I don't think it's working!"

"It's because I'm too afraid!" said Squidgy, seeing the battle going on from through the door. "We don't know if we can fulfilled this ritual!"

"Let me see," said Thomas, taking the book from me. "Let's see…"

I looked at the book and read the poem quickly. This one was about burning items.

"I'll do it," I said.

"We do this together," said Thomas, looking at me.

There was a loud crash from the other side.

"Do it already!" shouted Alex.

He held the book up. I kept my eyes on the page, beginning to read aloud.

We had come to this. After all the fighting, the arguing, the puzzles, the tears, the grief. It got us this far. I was worried that we would fail this. What if we made a mistake and ended up doing the wrong spell? What if we weren't able to do anything and let the world die? What if William got to us before we could complete this spell?

"Do your best, Katelyn," echoed Athello's words. "No matter they say what, we will get there in the end."

I growled a little. It was time to make a change. I still believed that I could fight and even if we couldn't, it was still worth fighting for. I did this for my family, for those who lost their loved ones and for my friends. Nobody else would have to suffer once we finished this. Nobody could take my life away from me.

I felt confident. Not only for myself.

Thomas gripped his fists, smiling. I was wondering if he was scared, but he looked…brave. He looked like he accepted the things that had happened and agreed that this all needed to end on that very night.

"Of earth and wind, of fire and water."

As me and Thomas spoke, a holographic wall suddenly surrounded us from the pentagram. The pentagram itself turned white and glowed. Astrological symbols and constellations floated around us. They nearly look like they came from Hell, but I wasn't bothered. Alex, Finn, Athello and Squidgy took a step back, watching us.

"All of the elements that we share, all the emotions we keep in this bottle."

A fireball swirled around us, floating above us.

From the other side, we could hear William yelping in shock. A noticeable flame appeared in our sight.

It was working!

"Take this water and this earth, let the wind and fire blow through the air."

I raised my voice higher, feeling a fire burning in my heart.

"Burn all of those trapped souls! Let them be one in Your prayer!"

The whole place shook a little as a slight tremor rumbled across all the lands. Me and Thomas kept repeating the poem as the pentagram glowed brighter and the fireball above us expanded. We didn't feel the heat from it, but we could see the flames burning from parts of William's body from the door gap.

"This can't be legal…" said Alex.

"Keep going!" said Athello. "One more time!"

"Of earth and wind, of fire and water!
All the elements that we share! All the emotions we keep in this bottle!
Take this water and this earth! Let the wind and fire blow through the air!
Burn all of those trapped souls! Let them be one in Your prayer!"

The fireball above us suddenly exploded, sending bright orange flames flying in all directions. We ducked, but it only went through us. We didn't even felt the temperature. The flames spread throughout the room and absorbed through the walls. After a few seconds, we could hear a series of screams and screeches.

That meant…all the animatronics should be on fire already.

The only way to free their souls from the Remnant-made suits.

"I-It's almost done!" chirped Squidgy. "It's almost done!"

"No, it's not!" screamed Finn, pointing in front of us.

William crashed through the wall, not bothering to go through the wall in his ghostly state instead. His whole body was nearly on fire, electricity sparkling out. However, his body didn't seem to be burning quite yet. His eyes were glitching from white, to black and to BLEEDING blood red. Behind him, I could see the unconscious outline of Henry who was lying still on the floor, his eyes glowing red.

"I guess ghosts can be defeated as well…" said Thomas.

William laughed maniacally as dark tendrils poked out of the walls and swung around. One of them grabbed the book out of Thomas' hands and squeezed it tight. I screamed as I watched the book slowly turned black before it turned into dust and faded away.

"NO!" Thomas screamed.

"Ya see, kids?!" said William as he floated towards us. "You think you can try to stop me?!"

"F-Finn?" said Alex. "Do you guys remember the other spell?

"We didn't memorize the stupid poem!" snapped Finn.

"I'm sorry!" cried Squidgy. "We didn't have time to! We were trying to survive!"

William grinned as he towered over us, flexing his fingers as if thinking which one of us he would like to kill. The dark tendrils around him grew in size and surrounded us like castle gates. The whole place was turning dark as all the torches went out. The temperature even dropped, making me shiver.

"You have no idea who you are playing with," he said, venom dripping from his voice. "This is a nightmare you won't wake from. Death cannot save you from whatever plans I have for you. Don't you see?! I'm the creator of Freddy's! I'm the prophet of Satan! I'm the one who is going to do things right for him! You think you can beat me?"

"We can!" shouted Athello. "No one is always invincible!"

William chuckled. "You f***ing moron. Don't you see? I'm the one who controls this power. I'm the one who control the animatronics. You know you can't stand up against them, kids. You're not the type! And the only reason why you didn't do anything is because you can't stand on your own, weaklings!"

I was about to argue back, but I hesitated. Even though I was no stranger to insults, it took me hard. As much as I hate to admit it, I was still scared of trying to do the right thing. I was still even unsure if I wanted to stop William, even I believed so. I wondered if it was worth it coming here, only to be stopped again.

"You know that you can't do anything. You know that if you did better than your parents, then you wouldn't be a FAILURE in the first place."

"Don't need to excuse yourself. She deserves it."

Those voices got into my head, but I pushed them aside. At the moment, I felt lost. I was stuck. I was speechless.

I looked to the side to see Thomas shivering. There was some sort of hopelessness in his eyes as he slowly bent down. His hands were shaking and nearly moving as if he wanted to cover his whole head. I could see the shine of tears forming in his eyes.

"Thomas…" said Alex gently. "H-He's not talking about you."

"I don't think he knows," whispered Squidgy. "Please remember. It's not true."

Thomas sniffed, nodding. He wiped his tears away, trying to mask his grief.

I looked around. This was it. This was nearly the end. However, that didn't mean I lost my voice just yet.

And not everybody did.

"Here's the thing, Mr. Afton," said Squidgy. "The reason why you're doing this is because you didn't choose to speak up about your belief in 'Satan'. Even though nobody believed you, you didn't try to ask others – including your best friend Henry – to help you. Find out what was bothering. And instead, you gave yourself in with this obsession. Was it really worth killing people? Does it make you feel more better than normal?"

William's grin faded. "Eh…no. But I feel alive after I did these new techniques of killing…"

"No need to try keeping that act, man," said Thomas, finally finding his strength. "Nobody should and look what that made you; a murderer with no friends."

"Just look at your own pitiful life," growled Finn. "You lost your children only because you fed them this idea that 'fighting is a normal thing to do in life'. You broke up with your wife because you didn't accept her support. And you killed Scott because you didn't want him to find out what you were planning to do."

"And then," added Alex. "Instead of telling your friends about your grief, you lied, manipulated and stayed away from everyone all just for you to be in your own murderous thoughts."

"You know what, William?" I said, clenching my fists. "If you were brave, if you believe that people can help you, then you wouldn't be like this. Right here; alone."

I glanced at Athello. He was surprised by how bold I said that to the serial murderer known to hurt several people. He observed all of us with hardened grey eyes. For once, I saw his eyes softened a little. A smile crept onto his face.

William had a full body spasm once he heard my words. His eyes were glowing and the dark tendrils were shaking violently.

"You…shut…UP!" he snarled. "It doesn't matter now since he is supporting me! You will just end up as my own children, devoting your loyalty to me!"

RING! RING! RING!

Something was buzzing in my pocket and it caught me off guard that I jumped upwards. My phone fell out, bouncing on the floor. It was a wonder how the glass didn't break.

It was an incoming call from my uncle.

I groaned sadly. "Why out of all times now?"

As I stared at the buzzing phone, I could hear the faint ringtone of my band's song 'Raging Wind'.

"God, where are you now?
Please come here to pure this world.
Please protect me here and now.
Cleanse me of all my sins.
"

A loud zap caught my attention. It came from William who bent down as a blue electricity current went through him.

"What the…?!" he said. "What is this?!"

"God, where are you now?
Please come here to pure this world.
Please protect me here and now.
Cleanse me of all my sins.
"

William gasped again, the blue electricity through his entire body. I swore I saw a small blue flame leaping from his chest before disappearing.

"No…no…no…" he whispered. "Not THAT spell!"

"What?" I said.

"God, where are you now?
Please come here to pure this world.
Please protect me here and now.
Cleanse me of all my sins.
"

The pentagram suddenly glowed light blue. The astrological symbols and constellations around us changed shape. Except that they changed into something more…interesting. I recognized some of the symbols I would see used in religious groups when celebrating Christmas.

"It sounds like doing a satanic ritual."

Sara's words echoed in my head.

"It's…not a satanic ritual," I said. "Isn't it?"

The phone finally stopped and the screen went black.

I realized what we had to do.

Unfortunately, William was next to us.

"OH NO, YOU DON'T!" he shouted. "I'M NOT GOING TO LET YOU USE THAT UNHOLY SACRIFICE OF A FILTHY LAMB!"

He lunged towards us, but a couple of hands suddenly pulled him back just before he could reach the pentagram.

It was Michael and Elizabeth.

"SAY THOSE WORDS!" shouted Michael. "DO IT!"

I nodded, looking back at my friends.

"We have to say those words?!" said Finn. "They are just part of our song!"

"It's our only chance!" I said before beginning the unknown spell. "God, where are you now? Please come here to pure this world."

Blue electricity rushed through the three animatronics' bodies. They gasped, but Michael and Elizabeth kept their grip on William. The latter started chanting something in Latin, but another animatronic appeared in front of him.

Golden Freddy.

"Surprise, fatty!" said Cassidy's voice.

She lifted up a hand and placed it over William's forehead. His whole body suddenly turned gold and his eyes were glowing gold as well. The black tendrils around us began to shrink away, hiding themselves in the safety of the walls. The shadows in the rooms slowly disappeared as if all the spots of the room had been lightened up by the sun.

"NO, NO, NO!" he shouted, his voice glitching out. "THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING! WHAT IS THIS?!"

"Please protect me here and now," I said. "Cleanse me of all my sins."

Thomas looked at me with doubt, but he joined in.

"God, where are you now? Please come here to pure this world."

All four animatronics in the room went on fire, in blue flames.

Finn, Alex and Squidgy joined in.

"Please protect me here and now. Cleanse me of all my sins."

The whole room was bathed in white light and the holographic wall forming from the pentagram turned light blue. There was a silver streak that swirled around us before it divided into multiple streaks and flew upwards into the ceiling.

"God, where are you now? Please come here to pure this world."

"NO!" screamed William, wrenching free from Elizabeth and Michael. "NO, YOU DON'T!"

Athello placed a hand onto my shoulder, joining in.

"Please protect me here and now. Cleanse me of all my sins."

I looked up to see the burning William charging towards us, letting out a screech that was a combination of the original animatronic screech, a mechanical howl and a VERY man-like bawl. However, the power of the pentagram was growing stronger. I felt it in my chest as it became more lighter than the luggage I had to carry on my shoulders for my life.

"God, where are you now? Please come here to pure this world. Please protect me here and now."

"I'LL KILL YOU!" shouted William.

I could see him right in my face soon.

"CLEANSE ME OF ALL MY SINS!" I shouted.

Everything went white.

There was silence.

I didn't hear the roar of William.

I didn't hear the shouts of my friends.

I didn't hear the shine of the power reflecting off the pentagram.

I didn't hear the crackling of the blue fire.

I blinked.

I blinked again.

I couldn't feel anything.

I didn't feel cold or hot.

Everything just…stopped.

I wondered if I was dead.

"Katelyn…"

It was a voice.

"Katelyn?"

I blinked again, trying to lift my hand up to grab something.

Another hand grabbed onto mine.

"Katelyn!"

I blinked again and that I was able to see. In front of me was Thomas. To my surprise, the dirt and stains on his face and hands were gone, leaving him spotless. He was looking at me, eyes watery.

"Don't scare me like that," he said. "Are you OK?"

"I…I think I am?" I said.

I looked around at my surroundings. For some reason – and to my relief – we were teleported to outside of the base. On the surface ground. There were several animatronics who were knocked out or torn apart. And unfortunately, that included the Freddy quartet who were lying on top of each other. The remaining animatronics looked at themselves, noticing the blue electricity going through them.

And then, the blue flames came up, resuming the burning party.

Those that were still standing suddenly stopped and stared at the fire as it spread all across their bodies. The dead ones went on fire. I was nearly afraid that the grass would even catch the flames, but the blue fire didn't seem to affect it, even though it licked on the grass.

"Guys!" called a voice. "You're OK!"

I looked to the side to see Patrick, Savion and Leon rushing up to me. They observed my body, checking if I had any injuries. Sara rushed past me and grabbed Finn in a tight hug.

"It's OK, Sara," said Finn softly, wrapping her arms around Sara. "We did it…"

Elvis and Yellow followed behind, happy to see that Thomas and Alex were in one piece. Elvis even went to Squidgy and caught him in an embrace, playfully noogieing him. Squidgy chuckled, saying that he was fine.

I spotted Mark looking around at the burning animatronics. He came to us, whistling to catch our attention.

"Guys…" he said. "It's…it's done. Look."

We all looked at the animatronics that laid dead on the ground. The blue fire slowly went out, leaving the place in nearly darkness. Then, something spectacular happened.

Ghosts in different colors came out of the suits. Their bodies provided enough illumination for us to see. They slowly floated out from their former bodies, groaning in pain or panting rapidly and holding onto the chests. Most of them looked around in confusion with faces of fear and regret. Some of them looked at us, either waving awkwardly or smiling in gratitude.

I looked over at where Freddy, Chica, Bonnie and Foxy rested. Four ghosts suddenly flew out of them.

One was a boy with combed brown hair and blue eyes. The second was a boy with black messy hair and green eyes, wearing purple-rimmed glasses. The third was a girl with bright blonde long hair and blue eyes. The fourth was a boy with red spiky hair and green eyes. They looked at each other, murmuring among themselves. They looked back at their animatronic bodies, whispering what happened to them.

I heard a faint whistling near the entrance of the base. Slowly appearing into our sight was Charlie and Henry. Because of the removal of William's corruption, I could see Henry's normal appearance, even though he was in a slight violet tint. His hair and beard were still silver, but his eyes were brown and his skin was a healthy shade of peach.

"Dad!" cried Mark, rushing to them. "Charlie!"

Charlie gasped as she and Henry were suddenly embraced by Mark. She squirmed around a little, looking fearful. However, when she looked at me, I gave her a warm smile as if telling her that she didn't need to be afraid anymore. She nodded and buried her chest into Mark's. I could see tears of joy trickling down his cheeks.

"Patrick!" shouted a girl's voice.

Patrick turned around and a girl with dirty blonde hair and brown eyes flew into him, throwing her little arms around him a hug. He laughed a little as he returned the embrace, crying a little.

Thomas tapped on my shoulder, pointing to three more souls appearing at the front entrance. It was Michael, Nate and Elizabeth. The three Aftons looked around as all the ghosts came out of the animatronic suits, gazing around in confusion.

"It's over now," said Athello. "They are free."

I smiled a little. I realized that maybe all of the hardship was worth it after all. Maybe it wasn't so hopeless in the end. I fought all this time and the two groups meet up to finish this off. I thought that nobody would find peace, but we made it in the end. The souls of the murdered wouldn't have to be under William's thumb anymore. The rest of the world could finally breath again.

I felt proud of myself. I felt as if I did something right for once. But the thing that made me happy was how close I was with my friends and how they helped me.

There was a series of gasps and screams as something appeared behind us.

It was the ghost of William Afton.

He growled as he got off the floor, rubbing his face. He looked down, his eyes widening in shock when he realized he wasn't in his animatronic body already. He looked up at us, his dull green eyes glowing in displeasure.

Henry narrowed his eyes, standing in front of all of us to face William.

"You're still here," he snarled.

"Wasted, man," sneered Alex. "Focus more on actually STAYING alive."

William looked around to see that his entire army had crumbled down. His powers were gone. And judging by how the darkness seemed to fade away, the pentagram was eliminated. He groaned, shaking his head.

"Congratulations," he hissed. "You lot finally did it. You won. Now what?"

"All of the lives you took away can now be free," said Henry. "The agony of every tragedy and the poor souls can finally begin to fade away. Although for you, the darkest pit of Hell has opened to swallow you whole."

Black tendrils of shadows suddenly burst from the ground and wrapped around William's wrists, turning into chains. They began to drag him downwards. William shook around twice in a fruitless attempt to escape, but he stopped. It looked like he gave in to his crimes, glaring at us.

"Don't keep the devil waiting, old friend," said Henry, crossing his arms.

"Wait!" said a voice. "Hold on!"

Elizabeth suddenly flew towards William and grabbed him, delaying the chains from dragging him into the surface.

I gasped. Everyone gaped at Elizabeth.

"Elizabeth," said Henry sternly. "No. Stay-"

"I know," said Elizabeth firmly. "But I'm his daughter."

Thomas took a step forwards. "Elizabeth…don't do this. Just come with us. You don't need to deal with your father anymore."

"He's already finished!" said Elvis. "No one is going to help him out from this one. He's done!"

"No, guys," said Elizabeth. "No. I know that you all don't like him more than I do, but I don't think he was born to be a murderer."

Charlie's eyes glowed a little, seemingly knowing why the youngest Afton child was doing this.

"Elizabeth…" she whispered solemnly, peeking from behind Henry. "You still remember who he was before…"

"Oh c'mon!" complained the boy who possessed Freddy. "Let's talk facts, shall we? We don't owe that cruel man a thing. He got nobody to look after him because he murdered all of us! Didn't he? The reason why you're standing up for him is because you're easy to manage. We can't believe a word he said. We know what he is like. It's like he has no feelings!"

"Yeah!" said the boy who possessed Bonnie. "Lock him up in prison like he did to all of us!"

"We can't let him stay around here!" said the girl who possessed Chica.

"He's different to all of us," said the boy who possessed Foxy.

There were more threats from the other ghosts who yelled awful things at Elizabeth for backing on her psychotic father. For me, I had no idea what to say. I thought that William was a monster after everything he did, but after hearing Michael's side of story, I wondered if it was brought up on his own and not naturally. I wondered if William wasn't always vengeful in the first place.

"Everyone!" shouted Michael. "Hold on! I like to say something about this."

Everything went silent as he floated towards William.

"Now let's not be a mob!" he said. "You can blame my father for starting this, but it was me who did it. I was the one who started this. I was the one who killed my younger brother right in front of him. And from that, he lost all of his sanity because he didn't know what to say to others. And he had this…mindset over this black magic for years…it broke loose when I broke Nate."

Patrick shivered a little when he felt Nate hiding behind him, peeking around to watch Michael speaking up to the crowd.

"And if so," said Mark, looking more concerned than loathing. "Then why should we give William another chance? He killed a lot of people and hasn't feel guilty about it. So…isn't it kind of right for him to face his punishment."

"Not this kind of punishment," said Michael. "I thought the same after I killed Nate, but…not this kind of cruelty. If anything else, why not just send him to a therapist in prison for 10 years?"

"Exactly," said Elizabeth, squeezing her father's arm tightly. "He wasn't like that before I died. He wasn't like that before Nate died. It was all because he lost us. We were his children…and he loved us."

William gasped a little, staring down at his daughter and son defending him. There was some kind of light reflecting in his eyes as he thought about what they said. There was a look of doubt that spread across his face. There was anger in him, but there was confusion, sadness and…regret there too.

He…wasn't so scary anymore.

The chains finally released him and disappeared.

There was a moment of silence as we waited for what William was going to do. It didn't look like he was going to explode or even go back onto his crazy murder spree. He didn't look grateful or happy. In fact, he looked…sad.

With a bitter look, he closed his eyes and ran away into the woods.

"Daddy!" yelled Elizabeth, chasing after him.

Nate was about to follow, but Michael stopped him.

"It won't be long…" reassured Michael.

We all stood there and watched the two ghosts disappeared shortly in the woods. To be honest, I was shocked by this. Since the chains actually let go off William, did that meant…he was given a second chance? Did he recognize his mistakes? Did he realized how wrong he was all the time? If that seemed to be the case, then it confirmed my suspicions.

Nobody grew up as a monster. William didn't. Everyone is human after all.

There was a loud siren behind. It turned out to be from police cars that were heading to us.

"There is going to be a LOT of explaining to do," said Thomas.

I nodded, scanning through the crowd of the lost souls. While they were still shocked over William's last chance, they immediately became afraid. I think that they were afraid of being sentenced to punishment or just framed as murderers since they were ghosts and couldn't do anything. Some of them began to break down, crying. Some of them slowly wandered off, trying to get away from the scene. I noticed that most of the children – namely the first murdered children – were staring at Henry as if asking for help.

Henry could only stare at them back with a lost look. He didn't know how to comfort them that everything would be OK.

At first, I thought I was dreaming, but right there near the woods…were the ghosts of my mother, father and my aunt.

They were in different shades of purple, losing the dark blackness that used to cover their entire bodies.

I tried to look over the crowd to see them. Without a reason to, I waved my hand upwards, hoping to catch their attention.

When my mother and father saw me, they both gasped. I thought that they would be happy to see me, but…they had the opposite effect. Dad looked away, ashamed. Mum was starting to tear down, hiding into Dad's chest to hide her face. When I called their names, they didn't bother to look at me. With trembling hands, they slowly hid into the woods.

Barbara turned to me with a concerned look on her face.

My smile faded away. At first, I didn't get what this meant. However, I thought back to the last time I saw them this morning.

"You don't know how to fight like a real man."

"You don't know how to be a good leader."

All wounds have to heal in the end.

AN: In the FNAF stories I read, I saw some that talked about William Afton going to Hell or facing his fate without a chance for redemption. So here, I decided to give one last chance. After all, the Aftons need to fix their family relationship and bond together. I don't want to leave all of them helpless. I know not everyone will be happy about this, but I feel that there should be some sympathy towards my version of William. Everybody leaving him for dead without consideration isn't going to be a good characteristic. But anyway, there are still people who won't forgive him...

The dialogues the guys said to William just before they found another way to execute the ritual is based on some quotes from 'Birds of Prey' and 'Meta Runner'. I want to describe a big good picture of how he is described as in the FNAF universe. If all suspicions that his son was the victim of the Bite of 83, then we could all say that William Afton has turned from a nice guy to a deranged serial killer, wanting to find pleasure to hide his pain. But yet, he never feels better. The devil keeps dragging him away from the light. And no matter whoever he follows or what his motives are, he has forgotten about the things he loved and the people who are around to help.

Yep, if you guessed correctly, Sara IS right about the lyrics of 'Raging Wind' to be...spiritual/demonic. While I can't confirm on what it does, all I can tell you that it may hold holy power or prayer to those in crisis.
