Sonic was warped on a little island in the middle of the lake. He saw the water start to rise. "It worked!" he shouted. "The lake is coming back!"

"Yes, Sonic. You have successfully defeated the evil beast and restored Zora's Domain to its original state. Well done," said a voice. Sonic looked to one side and saw Sheik. "Oh, hi there, Sheik," said Sonic. "The people of Zora's Domain are alright now," said Sheik. "And the ice covering Zora's Domain has melted at last."

"Great," said Sonic. "So, can you tell me where the next sage will be?"

"Yes," said Sheik. "The next sage is actually Impa. She was born and raised in Kakariko Village."

"I remember her telling me that when I was a kid," exclaimed Sonic excitedly. "Indeed," said Sheik. "And when I saw those clouds on my way to the castle, I thought Impa made the sky gloomy."

"Well, Sonic, perhaps Impa will know what happened to the sky on that day. Look for her in Kakariko Village and she'll tell you what happened," said Sheik. "We will meet again soon." And with that, she threw another deku nut in front of her and disappeared. Sonic looked about him. "How am I going to get off this island?" he wondered. Then, he remembered he was wearing a zora tunic. It had protected him from drowning in the Water Temple and he could just swim to shore. So that's what he did. He made his way to Kakariko Village to find Impa.

But when he got there, he discovered it was on fire!

"Oh, no!" Sonic cried. Suddenly, a shadow whipped by him and knocked Navi off his shoulder. "Navi!" He shouted. He gently scooped her up in his arms and found her unconscious. He saw Sheik not too far ahead. "Sheik! Why would you do this to Navi?" he shouted. "Sonic, get back!" shouted Sheik in reply. Sonic stood back and a shadow knocked Sheik to the ground. "Sheik!" cried Sonic. He put Navi on his shoulder and rushed to her side. He knelt down and picked her up carefully in his arms, but he was pushed back too.

Soon the shadow disappeared and Sonic opened his eyes. He found himself in the hospital nowhere near Kakariko Village. A middle aged woman with long white hair tied up in a braid, a white dress and a stethoscope around her neck was smiling down at him. "You're going to be alright," she said. "I am Dr. Crystal. You are at the Hylian Hospital. Pushy called us when she saw you lying on the ground and thought you were seriously injured. We whisked you to the hospital as quickly as possible. You do not have any broken bones. You're just… really shaken up. Sheik is getting her lungs healed by a breathing tube. It will take a while. And Navi was taken to the animal hospital where Dr. Frost will nurse her back to health. This will take a while, but your friends will be okay. Since you are Hyrule's final hope, we used an energy potion to speed up your recovery. You should be able to move now."

"Thanks, doctor," said Sonic. "But what about the shadow? And Pressure? Is she okay?"

"I think Pressure's okay," said Dr. Crystal. "But we didn't see her. The shadow that attacked you and your friends was a beast, but I don't know where it came from. Pushy might know where it came from." She took out a rusty guitar. "Sheik wanted me to teach you a melody that can teleport you to the shadow temple. It's called the Nocturne of Shadow and it goes like this." And she played a few notes on the guitar and Sonic followed her. After four tries, he was able to play the "Nocturne of Shadow" all by himself. "Well done, Sonic," said Crystal. "I'll check you out of the hospital so you can go to the shadow temple. Leave Sheik with me. She'll be just fine."

"Okay," said Sonic. As soon as he was checked out of the hospital, he ran back to Kakariko Village. A short rainstorm had put the fire out and Sonic found Pushy near her house. "Pushy!" cried Sonic. "Sonic, you're okay!" exclaimed Pushy as she embraced Sonic. "Pushy, I need your help. Do you know where the shadow came from? The one that attacked me, Navi and Sheik?" Sonic asked her. "Yeah," said Pushy. "It came from the well. It's actually a shadow beast called Bongo Bongo." Sonic laughed. "That's a funny name!" he said. Then, he cleared his throat as Pushy continued. "Bongo Bongo escaped from the shadow temple through the well. The only way to stop him is to seal him away in the shadow temple. I can help by luring him back into the well." Pushy clapped her hands together as loudly as she could. When Bongo Bongo heard her rhythm, he slithered towards her and she led him into the well. Bongo Bongo slithered back into the well and Pushy brushed off her hands. "Okay, he's in the well," she said. "Take this lens of truth. It'll help you find his weak spot when you battle him." She gave him an eyepatch, which he put over his left eye. The eyepatch made his eye see unusual things. "Wow," he said. "It'll help you find hidden objects, avoid booby traps and find the weak spots of your foes," said Pushy. "This is so cool!" exclaimed Sonic. "A magic eyepatch that I can actually see out of. Thanks, Pushy!"

"Good luck, Sonic," said Pushy. Sonic played the Nocturne of Shadow again to warp to the shadow temple. The lens of truth helped him find the entrance in no time and he stepped inside.
