XXVI. Hey.. Beach!

"Yes! The summer season is here! Surely everybody has plans to ease the heat, am I right? Time for the beach, the feel of that summer breeze? That's why here's some..." Static crackled as the car stopped.
"We're here! Finally.." Il-hwan grinned and looked back at his passengers that all seemed to be waking up from his greeting. "Boys? Go and unload our things." The man got out of the car with Jin-woo and Jin-ho in tow.
"Then we girls will try to set up our spot now.." Kyung-hye smiled and pulled Hae-in towards the sandy shore.
The place was crowded.. people buzzed with excitement, enjoying themselves with the place. Some opted to swim, some chose to play sports, and some even decided to just lay down under a shade.
The older couple thought it was great for the family to have some time for themselves, vacation of some sort. They even invited their future daughter-in-law and their youngest's boyfriend to make it all more exciting. A day at the beach would be fun for all of them.
"...Well this is really surprising-"
"Which one oppa? The fact that it's too crowded today? Or is it because Hae-in unnie is in her swim wear?" Jin-ah grinned teasingly and elbowed her brother's side.
She noticed how her brother's eyes scanned the crowded sandy shore before his gaze landed at the said woman who just got out from the changing room, donning her black two piece that outlined the lady's figure definitely. It boldly showed her mature yet sleek aura.
There was a pause before Jin-woo grunted and clicked his tongue. "Hmm.. both? Though for the latter part, it's nothing I haven't seen.."
Jin-ah gasped and stared at him shocked. "I-I do not need to know that certain part of your life oppa!"
"..What? I'm just saying-" Jin-woo laughed softly before freezing in his tracks as his father slung an arm over his shoulder.
"Ohh.. my son, I'm proud of you!" Il-hwan cackled and then gave him a hard slap on his shoulders. "Just make sure to be careful.."
"Ok dad.. Please stop with the topic now?" Jin-woo grumbled as he sprinted away.
"I haven't expected that there would be a lot of people here today! Right on our vacation day even.." Kyung-hye sighed as she laid the blankets down with Hae-in helping her.
Jin-ah still kept a look of disgust on her face as Jin-woo looked over. Hae-in just blinked innocently and just stared at the two.
"Hyung! I got the umbrellas!" Jin-ho greeted as he set down the umbrellas for their spot's shade. "This good?"
"That's all good, Jin-ho. Thank you." Il-hwan smiled as he set down other things they had. Everyone settled into their nice spot.

..It wasn't even a long time when Jin-ah's 'lady instincts' tingled. She quickly nudged Hae-in's side. Hae-in looked to where the younger one was staring at.
"Oh.."
"..What do you think, unnie?"
"..Hmm did they notice?"
At the same time, both looked to where the boys were, and of course, they were oblivious once again.
There were a bunch of girls by the mini bar that were eyeing the two. Some were trying to get the guys' attention and the others were just fawning over them.
"Well that's not a nice sight.." Hae-in grumbled.
"What did you say, babe?" Jin-woo looked at the woman as he handed her a canned soda.
Hae-in just stared at the man poker-faced as she took the soda from him. "Well, nothing at all. Just be a good boy over there, yeah?"
"Huh? What are you saying?"
"Shh.. stay there with Jin-ho would you?"
Jin-woo just looked at her with a puzzled expression. o.o
Hae-in stood up and tossed the soda to the bin before stretching her limbs, doing warm up exercises. "Jin-ah. You ready?"
Jin-ah stood up and nodded, tying her hair up in a bun with a determined expression on her face.
"Jin-ah?"
"Hae-in?"
Kyung-hye just watched the scene with a grin on her face, fully understanding what was going on. The boys' bewildered expression just made her more amused.
Jin-ho watched with a confused expression when his girlfriend and his noona walked away.

"What's happening, hyung?"
"..Don't ask me, I don't know what's happening either." Jin-woo scratched his head as he looked at Jin-ho. Both confused.
They just watched how the ladies took their determined steps towards.. the bar?
But before they could, they were stopped in the middle...
'Please step up to those who want to play for our beach volleyball tournament! Pair up and try your luck! ..Ohh oh! Look we already have volunteers!'
..Okay, plan is ruined.
Hae-in and Jin-ah were almost to the mini bar but suddenly were pulled by the announcer. She slung her arms around the two, thereby trapping them in her grip.
"What a lovely pair! Surely you will find this tournament fun!" The woman grinned. Her toothy smile hiding her devilish delight of what she just did.
"Wha-?"
"No! Unnie what-"
"Well, as compensation you can choose your opponents from.. hmm. These people here!" The woman added and then pointed to the people by the building.
Coincidentally, the mini bar was also there.
Jin-ah's eyes suddenly twinkled. "Oh.. then those girls over there? You know girls versus girls would be more fair, won't it?" She pointed to the woman by the bar... to where those girls are.
"I'll go with what she decides." Hae-in spoke expressionless.
"Then let's have it! Please come here!"
Loud whines and complains can be heard..

The referee blew her whistle. It's time to serve. Hae-in held the ball in her hands and slow drew out a breath. Tossing the ball up she hit it towards the other side with great control and precision.
Jin-ah moved quickly even though the sand hindered some of their movements. She was able to follow through and hit the ball back into the air.
FWEET! The whistle blew again. Point for Hae-in and Jin-ah!

"Hyung, what's happening.."
"..I don't know, Jin-ho."
"Noona looks like she's about to kill someone.." Jin-ho gulped.
"Yeah.. she's colder and-" Jin-woo shivered. "She just looked here.."
"Jin-ah's giving me subtle looks too. What did we do-"
"I don't know.. but there is a storm brewing that's for sure." Jin-woo mumbled.
'Oh lookie here! What a rally! A battle of stamina for these girls- who will prevail? Ohhh Ms. Cha's preparing to hit! Annnd damn! That's their win!'
The referee finally blew the whistle for the last round. She nodded before lifting her hand to point at Hae-in and Jin-ah's side of the net.
"We won unnie!" Jin-ah squealed loudly.
"..What a game." Hae-in smiled gently and placed her hand up in the air.
Jin-ah laughed and high fived with the older woman.
The match became an outlet for the girls' annoyance.. It was a victory for the 'sisters'..
Kyung-hye just laughed when the girls got back with the men in tow. "Won did we?"
"Won what?" Il-hwan's head popped out from the car as he looked over.
"Just tidy up the things, dear. You all are dense about these type of things." Kyung-hye shook her head and sighed.
"So true mom! It's annoying!"
"Dense? He's the true embodiment of that.."
Jin-ho and Jin-woo looked at each other.. still lost on what was the whole ordeal about anyway.
The day was something they did not expect, but still, it was a memorable one for everyone.

Currently I am waiting for our new update for the manhwa.. last chapter was funny and awesome af hahaah (I made Jin-woo's mid finger panel my phone's wallpaper... I don't really know why-)

Oh god ikr? Manhwa I don't know what they are trying to do, must be really focused on Jinwoo's op-ness or something? And yes, I laughed seeing Jinwoo at the hospital. Just makes you disappointed seeing the difference from the novel and manhwa. Hope they won't change the amusement park date that much. I'll really flip if they do haahha.
