it's significantly longer than my last chapter, at least by enough to matter.
disclamation: I do not own Vampire Knight in any way, shape, or form. I do not even own Zero's point of view in this fanfiction at all. I'm just going along with the storyline of the entire series. all of the manga's ownership rights are reserved for and credited to Matsuri Hino-san.
After the two of us were finished with inspecting the two Sun Dorms, my dear Yuuki and I were now standing outside of the Moon Dorm, the place where the vampires slept during the day.
Yuuki: We've never been inside the Moon Dorm before. I'm a little nervous. Are you?
It was a nice trial on my dear Yuuki's part, but I was not nervous even in the slightest. I also seemed to remember that one time she tried to elope with that Kaname Kuran when he lived in the Teachers' Dorm in the beginning of the Night Class, as I have always called it. Of course, I just waltzed right into the grounds of the Moon Dorm like it was no big deal, I was so calm about it.
My dear Yuuki and I were met with by an old man at the gates to the Moon Dorm. He scowled at us, and my Yuuki grew even more nervous than she already was.
Yuuki: Um, hi. We just…
The old man interrupted her if only to tell us we could go into the grounds.
Old Man: You're from the Disciplinary Committee. Go ahead.
I suppose that while my dear Yuuki was scared of the look the old man was giving us, I was not scared one little bit, especially since he seemed to just be doing his job. With the old geezer's approval, we walked into the grounds of the Moon Dorm for the first time since the Night Class had begun.
Once we got to the Moon Dorm's building, Yuuki stopped us as she walked up the steps faster than I could keep up.
Yuuki: Oh, hold on.
Yours Truly: Huh?
Then, my Yuuki turned around to face me.
Yuuki: Before we go inside, I wanna see what it is that you shoved in your pocket earlier.
So, my dear Yuuki was onto my secret. Let's just say that my secret is one I never wanted her to find out about in any way, shape, or form. 'Why?' you might ask. It was because I knew she would hate my guts the minute she found out, she would be so scared of me. I just turned my face away from her to try to keep what was left of my secret to keep from her knowledge.
Yuuki: You're hiding something, aren't you? As a Disciplinary Committee prefect, there's a moral code that…
Then, my dearest Yuuki tripped forward. I did not know what came over me as she tripped forward. I suppose that my need to be her direct hero overpowered my clear thinking because as soon as she started to fall forward even further, I grabbed onto her so she could avoid being injured in her fall.
Yep, my need to be this chick's direct hero definitely overpowered my clear thinking. It always did whenever I was near my dearest Yuuki. I could barely help myself, though. I was a teenage male. Of course, I would have had those kinds of hormones stir around from within my body. I was a hormonal beast in human form, and I knew it.
It suddenly occurred to me that Yuuki was a lot more nimble than she was being right now. It did not dawn on me soon enough, however, because once I caught my dearest in my arms, I pushed her up to see that she had stolen my blood tablets from me. She giggled at me about it.
Yuuki: Guess I've got it, now.
Drat! Those were the only things Yuuki needed just to connect the dots about my secret, if she were smart, that is. Then, Yuuki looked at the case of blood tablets and only asked me…
Yuuki: What is this? Medicine?
If there was one thing that threw luck into my favor, it was that Yuuki was not very smart and could not figure out right away what they were. I just grabbed the blood tablets out of her hand, anyway.
Yours Truly: It's none of your business, OK?
Then, I just ran away from Yuuki and our duties to the school since I needed time away from them all.
I should have known better than to think that Yuuki would just leave it at that, though.
Yuuki: Zero, hold on. Don't leave!
Then, she got up and began following me.
Yuuki: Hey, are you sick or something?
I was sick, alright. Sick of lusting for my dear Yuuki's blood, that is.
Yuuki: Wait, Zero.
I could hear her from the gates of the Moon Dorm, but I was intent on ignoring her and leaving.
Yuuki: Come on. You can't just leave here without telling anybody.
Watch me, Yuuki!
Yuuki always acted like this. She pretended to have become my new mother when I first moved in with her and the idiot headmaster. She kept on acting like she was my mother when she was an entire year younger than me in reality. I found out why she had been as nice as she was in the beginning of our time together when she first introduced that Kaname Kuran to me in hopes that I would give him a chance. Yeah right, I would never give any chance to be shown any kindness to the same kind of vampire as the one that killed my family.
Yuuki had always nurtured me like a mother would just to make herself look mature enough for that Kaname Kuran. It was no way to look good for an older guy but from the way she had always patted my head in the past, it seemed to be a good way to at least look mature for her age.
Puh-lease! Yuuki was an entire year younger than the one she was treating like her son in order to look mature for her vampiric crush. That kind of love would just never work in her favor. For all I cared, that Kaname Kuran could just go to hell along with that woman and every other one of their breed of vampires.
