As the day seemed to drag on wherever we looked we just couldn't find him.
I had left Marian in the great hall to await for me for further instructions.
Much to her disapproval.
Wouldn't be Marian otherwise.
Once I had finished talking to a few guards by front gate I headed back towards the steps of the main entrance.
Sir Jasper was busying himself by taking a slow stroll along the battlements.
Before I reached the bottom step I turned my head and caught sight of Alan walking back towards the portcullis.
With four guards in tow.
Quickly I hurried over towards him.
As he walked he looked up to see the princes envoy looking down upon the people below.
Once I went under the arch did I then stand face to face with Alan.
"They are looking everywhere.
Their even drenching the ponds but he is just nowhere."
Hearing this I look up at the princes envoy who had briefly stopped his pacing to watch our conversation.
What for I don't know.
It's not as if he could hear what we where saying.
He then proceeded to stroll along.
I turned my attention back to Alan and said calmly
"Keep searching"
With that said we both turned and headed back the way we came continuing the search.
Come on think.
The whole town depends on me.
'Just keep calm.
The sheriff will be found and Nottingham will be safe.'
Yes your right.
For everyone's sake I must keep a cool head.
Sir Jasper soon came back down from the battlements and strolled across the court yard.
I on the other hand walked over to the guards beside the entrance to the battlements.
Where Sir Jasper had just come from.
Marian's point of view
Unable to wait any longer I grew impatient and decided to walk out to the front steps of the castle.
Hopefully I could help do something.
Well that was my thought but as I stepped outside I was looking around for a signal of someone needing assistance.
I wasn't expecting to quickly come into contact with someone baring the princes royal seal on his chest.
"And who might you be ?"
He said as he hurried up the steps and was now standing in front of me.
Was this the princes envoy by any chance ?
"Lady Marian"
I simply replied as he took my hand in his own and stepped closer to me.
Too close for my liking.
'Keep calm'
Keep calm ?
Right now I would like to kick him where it hurts.
'Well be polite then.
He could be the person in charge of the army for all we know.'
Very true.
His eyes looked me up and down as if I were some horse on display.
He brought his mouth close to my left ear and whispered.
"Let me give you something to suck on"
Please let me be sick all over this fool man.
Or push him down the stairs perhaps.
'Be polite'
Before I could give him a reply his hand which held mine was brought up towards his face.
Pulling his mouth away from my ear and he focused on my hand.
My engagement ring.
He seemed to be examining it.
"What is this ?"
What a question to ask.
So calmly I stated the fact that it is my engagement ring.
He tutted at this.
"Now why would you want to go and do that to me for ?"
Did I just hear that correctly ?
"Excuse me ?"
"Oh come now lady Marian,
Still no matter.
How about I give you some practice.
Work you in for your owner."
This is a nightmare surely.
The absolute front on this man.
A wicked smirk spread across his face as he saw my expression of both shock and disgust.
Can I slap him at least ?
'As much as he deserves it you must wait until you find out who he is.
If he isn't the one in charge then slap him.
Hell even tell Guy and see what happens but if he is then you must keep him sweet for as long as possible.
Everyone's lives could depend on it'
"Who is the lucky man anyway ?
No one of any worth no doubt."
"That would be me"
Guy said happily as he now stood beside me.
Surprised the stranger dropped my hand and took a step away from me.
I placed my hands on Guys chest as his arms slipped around my waist.
"What did I miss in this conversation?"
Guy asked calmly.
Honestly I was impressed at how he was keeping his temper under control.
Since the stranger didn't speak I thought I had best do it.
'Kill with kindness'
"Well my betrothed he had so kindly offered to entertain me."
Guy nodded saying.
"That is very kind of him."
A smile appeared on my lips as I turned my full attention to Guy while saying.
"I must decline his offer for I have all the entertainment I could ever need right in front of me."
With that I softly brought my lips up to his.
Melting into a long awaited tender kiss.
The stranger just hurried away.
Out of sight,
Out of mind.
For the first time since our engagement we showed our love out in the open.
For all to see.
Including one of Robin Hoods men,
Will Scarlett.
