Here's the next chapter. Please read and review love Moon x
Albus Dumbledore was a very sane man. He knew he'd been kept in jail longer than necessary but then again without the elder wand did it really even matter anymore. Even after he'd said they'd broken it no one seemed to care. They were all so foolish. They'd damned themselves now. Without it they definitely had no chances for survival. He was only so excellent because that wonderful wand had made him so. They would soon see how weak they had made him. Back at the school those yearly hangout and study rooms were finished. All they years loved it in particular the Slytherins. This was an opportunity to finally show that they were more then what you saw in class. In class and indeed quidditch they were competitive as hell and man did it show. They didn't mind it showing at that point but because of people like Marcus Flint unfortunately everyone thought they were all brutish. Marcus however was having to learn to tone himself the hell down as his house was no longer willing to stand by while he tarnished their image any further.
Severus was shocked at his houses turnabout in behaviour. They had adopted a new no nonsense policy and anyone who wished to go against this new regime would either be cursed in a duel or tossed out of the house and as most people didn't want to do that everything stayed the way they said it should. Marvolo was stunned at the change in his former house. He couldn't pinpoint it but something about them all was exceptionally different and it did give him the chills. He'd always hated not knowing or understanding others. It is after all why he often tortured so many people. He made his way to the staff room for lunch in order to get to know the rest of the staff. It wouldn't do to not be their friend after all. He was however in for the shock of a lifetime after which he'd never be the same. He entered and everyone greeted him kindly before continuing with their conversation as he helped himself to some of the curry on offer today.
They were currently discussing a first year Slytherin student called Dean Shafiq. At first nothing at all seemed to be off until it was mentioned that he had not started school as Dean Shafiq. "Excuse me Minerva but did I hear right that Mr Shafiq didn't start school with that surname? Can you tell me how it happened?" he asked as she smiled at him.
"Oh of course Marvolo. He actually started as Dean Thomas but he'd been showing extremely good wandless magic abilities which Filius here noticed wasn't normal for a muggleborn. Now Harry Potter had said he'd taught him but as we all know wandless magic can never truly be taught. You are either born with it or not. It was suggested he take an inheritance test and so he did!" she said pausing to take another bite of her lunch. Marvolos head was already spinning wildly and he found he needed to take a deep drink of water to settle himself for whatever the hell was coming up next.
"Well you see when he took the inheritance test we'd learned that his father had been a squib born to the Shafiq family and disowned whereupon he was adopted by the Thomas family. Dean however had a large block on his core which the late Lord Shafiq who had been demented in his old age had force fed the boy at some stage. Dean had his core unblocked and essentially became the new Lord Shafiq. Can you believe his mother had also been a squib of the Nott family? He went from muggleborn to pureblood in an instant!" she said as he exclaimed oh my goodness and fainted out cold.
He was revived and vomited profusely so madam Pomfrey gave him a pepper up potion which did make him feel better. He was honestly horrified. He asked for a calming draft in case he'd need one later and she gave it to him with a smile. He had heard of course that Pureblood people threw away their squib children through the grape vine but in all honesty he had assumed it was a lie. He had always thought that squib children died because they had no magic to support them to live any further. In fact Lucius Malfoy had told him he was right before when he'd mentioned it. He guessed it was family pride or something which made lying to him so easy. This literally changed everything. What if he had been wrong all along because those stupid pureblood fools lied about everything they ever told him? Did no one at all grab how major this was? What if muggleborn people never needed to exist at all? What if they all came from squibs? Hang on he was getting too ahead of himself and that wouldn't be good at all. How could he fix this?
Maybe he could say he wished to prove the dark lord wrong about Muggleborns coming from nothing. He wished to test the inheritance of all muggleborn students. Hogwarts currently had twenty five of those so he would need twenty five tests. Hell he'd even pay for them if he needed to. He needed to know and he needed to know now. If this was actually true he'd need to change his tactics totally. Maybe then if it was true he'd just need to attack and kill muggles and or the pureblood idiots who recklessly threw their squibs away. From now on those purebloods had a death sentence attached to them instantly if they'd thrown out a squib child. Not only was it reckless but they had whole branches of family who missed out magical relations because of their stupidity. Summoning a bottle of firewhiskey he put a torture potion inside it and sealed it again. He had a compulsion charm keyed only to Lucius Malfoy on it and sent it off with a house elf. A few days in Saint Mungos feeling like he may die even though he never would, would teach Lucius to lie to him in future. He had much planning to do. Oh this would be interesting.
