Small update from 26 April 2021 is underlined like this in AN.
Hey everyone!
I'm so sorry that this isn't a chapter. I've honestly been trying to write the next chapter in this story for weeks now. I've reread what I already have so many times that I'm pretty sure I have parts memorized and I've stared at my screen so long that my eyes started to burn just trying to get some words to come out. The only thing I could come up with was what happens after, where are characters end up. Who they end up being in the end.
I didn't want to do this. This story got me back into writing. It is a combination of ideas that popped into my head. Small quick writes that flowed together and made a story. It gave me breathing space when I needed a break from more fleshed out works and your support gave me the confidence to keep writing. But I've grown a lot since I started this, both as a writer and a human, and I can't continue writing multiple chapters for a story that doesn't really flow together. Having reread this as many times as I have, there are a lot of plot holes and just weird things that my brain didn't think about because I was just writing what popped into my head (like just how big the age gap is between Viktor and Ginny is or how flat the scenes between Hermione and her biological family really are). However, I don't want to leave you hanging.
A week from today, I will be posting a longer sort of epilogue that will give closure to this story and what happened with Voldemort and all our favorite people. You'll get to see some of their children and see how close they all still are. It won't be the drawn out, slightly more detailed book ending that we were hoping for but our characters will have an ending. I'm not posting it right now because I wanted you to have the same opportunity that my A Marauder's Daughter readers have to choose the next story I'll be posting.
Below are two summaries (+ a little extra info) for stories I have already partially finished. Post a review with your favorite of the two and I'll reveal which story gets the most votes a week from today when I post the last chapter of this story. (The story that gets the least votes will still be posted, it will just wait until the winner is finished.)
The Power He Knows Not: Hermione can put up with a lot of things for "the greater good". What she can't put up with is being blamed for her own parents death by people who were supposed to be protecting them which is exactly what Dumbledore does at the last Order meeting Hermione ever attends. This is a fatal mistake for the so called "light" side and the beginning of the Grey. Though Hermione's only intention when leaving Grimmauld Place that night was protecting what little she had left. (HermionexViktor focus with a big side helping of HarryxRon.-Also has an already written one shot spin off involving Petunia, Lily, and Severus.)
For the Love of a Daughter: Bellatrix LeStrange wasn't always crazy. Being tortured to the brink of insanity by her not so loving husband put her on the edge, being forced to give up her baby girl pushed her to insanity. What happens when she finally meets her beautiful daughter? The supposed mudblood of Slytherin, Hermione Jean Granger. (Triad!HermionexHarryxDraco. Slytherin!Harry/Hermione. Snape and Sirius play big roles. Organized grey side. 26 April 2021 Update-Draco and Hermione will not be cousins in this story, I won't say the reason why here because it does play a bit of a role later in the story when it's actually revealed to the characters but just know that they are in no way blood related and that they will never have an "oh shit, we're cousins" scare after Hermione's heritage is revealed.)
Again, I am so sorry this isn't a chapter.
Love always,
Adrien
