Chapter 26 Into the Door

Eraqus' POV

My classmates noticed me staring at the door and came back to me.

"What is it Eraqus", Hermod asked in concern. "Is something wrong?"

"Okay", I started. "I know that this is going to sound crazy, but I have a feeling that Xehanort went through that door."

"How do you know that", Baldr asked.

"I don't", I replied. "It's just a feeling I have inside my heart."

"Well", Vor started. "Master Odin always says that a Keyblade wielder should always follow their heart!"

"That is true", Hermod agreed. "However, last time one of us opened a door we didn't know anything about, it...well...you know."

"So what do we do then", Bragi asked.

With that...I stared at the door again...and made up my mind.

"I'll go in", I revealed.

"You what", all of my classmates asked in shock.

"Its like Vor said", I started. "I can feel it in my heart that Xehanort is in there, and I need to listen to my heart."

"But it could be dangerous", Hermod pointed out.

"Hey Eraqus", Bragi started changing the subject. "Sorry to intervene, but may I asked why you still care about finding Xehanort?"

"Huh", I asked in confusion. "What do you mean? He's my best friend! Why wouldn't I still care about finding him?!"

"It's just...", Bragi started. "He used darkness. I thought you hated darkness?"

With that...I looked at Bragi in shock before turning away.

"It's...it's true", I started. "I do hate darkness, but...but Xehanort is my friend!"

"And the darkness", Bragi asked. "Remember what Master Odin said, Eraqus. There's a good chance Xehanort used darkness to get to Scala Ad Caelum too."

"Look", I started. "We don't know how Xehanort got to Scala Ad Caelum exactly. Even if he did use darkness, he may have not done so willingly."

"Eraqus has a point", Hermod agreed. "I doubt that Xehanort would've known how to have gotten here on his own. Somebody must've taught him."

"Exactly", I agreed. "That's why we need to find Xehanort, so that we can find out who taught him how to use darkness."

"If you say so", Bragi replied before looking at the door. "So, are we going in here or not?"

"It looks like we have no other choice", Hermod replied.

"But", Vor started. "Will...will we be okay? What if it's dangerous?"

"You don't have to go in if you don't want to Vor", I revealed.

"Yeah", Hermod added. "You can stay here."

"Alone", Vor asked fearfully.

"Not alone", Hermod replied. "I'll stay here with you. You guys okay with that?"

"Yeah", I replied before looking at Baldr and Bragi. "Unless any of you guys want to stay here too."

"I'll go with you Eraqus", Bragi replied.

"Me too", Baldr replied.

"Okay then", I said. "Then let's get going."

"Not so fast", Hermod started. "We don't know what awaits you beyond that door. You guys should wear your Keyblade armour."
