Younger was an understatement. The Sesshomaru she knew was taller and far more intimidating. This person, however, was neither. Sure everything about him screamed Lord of the Western Lands, but there were a few key points missing from his overall appearance.
His face, for starters. While blemish-free and a perfect shade of porcelain, the stripes that normally complimented his high cheeks bones were gone, as though they had never existed. Fortunately, the crescent moon remained intact on his forehead.
A gold and black unusual outfit adorned his slim form, and despite lacking any chest armor, or honeycomb designs with flowers, the style suited him. Then again, she was certain he could pull off any look. Admiring his appearance further, she realized his hair was pulled back into a high ponytail and not only that, but he smelled strangely of roses.
In all honesty, he looked good. More handsome than she remembered. But she shrugged those thoughts aside and fluttered her lashes while acting the part of a damsel in distress.
"Excuse me?" Sesshomaru said, arching a silver brow. "Do you realize who you're—"
"Oh, Sesshomaru!" She quickly interrupted him, holding him tighter by the waist. "I'm so glad you're finally here! Had you not come along… that demon…" She said, pointing. "would have taken me away to be his bride!"
No amount of blinking could further reveal the confusion he wore staring between her and the other demon. And yet, despite this, he did not push Kagome away, at least not at first. Soon enough, she recognized the thin line of displeasure form on his lips.
"Y-y-you're… t-telling me… that's your fiancé?!" The demon asked, stuttering. "T-the Great D-D-Dog General's son?!"
