Hey y'all! Welcome back to 50 Nobleshipping Drabbles! This has always been a prompt I loved. I love magical elements in general, but these two just go so well together for some reason despite being complete opposites. It's just such a cool concept and I couldn't help but write a prompt for it!
Disclaimer: Yu-Gi-Oh and all of it's characters belong to Takahashi Kazuki-sama. I only own the prompts and the one-shots.
Prompt #26: Fire and Ice. Rating: K
Critias huffed as he walked through the tundra, thankful for the heat his body gave off. His tail twitched and he used it to brush away the snow as he walked. He eventually came across a cave and hurried inside, the storm he had been walking through getting worse by the minute. After walking a bit away from the entrance he set up camp, snapping his fingers so the firewood he had immediately ignited. He sighed as he began preparing the food he had, cooking it.
He looked up, brushing his blonde hair from his lapis eyes. He thought he had heard something deeper into the cave, but wrote it off as simply the wind blowing through the cave. He slowly ate his meal, then put everything away before getting ready for bed. He crawled into his sleeping bag, keeping the fire lit to keep any animals away and provide extra warmth. He slowly closed his eyes, falling into a deep sleep.
A few hours later he woke up to find his fire was out, ice crystals forming on the floor and walls around him. He also heard the same sound as before, this time recognizing it as singing. He quickly got up and began following the singing, drawing his sword as he did. What or who on Earth could be singing at this time of night, especially in the depths of a cave? Critias frowned, wandering further into the cave.
He eventually came to a large cavern, lighting a fireball in his hand to see properly. As he did the singing stopped and a gasp was heard, Critias spotting movement out of the corner of his eye. "Hello? It's alright, I won't hurt you…. I heard you singing, you have a wonderful voice…." he said, hoping to show the owner of the voice he meant no harm.
Slowly, a figure came out from behind one of the rocks. It was a man, his long amaranth pink hair contrasting with his light blue outfit. His aqua eyes cautiously watched Critias as he came out of hiding. "Vhy are you here?" he asked quietly. "I was taking shelter from the storm….. what are you doing in this cave?" asked Critias, looking the other male up and down. "Yes… zhis is my home…." said the aqua-eyed male, glancing around.
Critias looked around as well. "Did you make all of this ice?" asked Critias, noticing all of the ice crystals around them. The other male nodded. "Yes….. I often use them to make jewelry…." he said, smiling at the thought. Critias nodded, smiling as well. "I'm Critias….. can you tell me your name?" he asked. "My name is Zigfried…." said the German, smiling. Critias nodded. He felt that, despite their opposing elements, a friendship could form between them, and he knew Zigfried felt the same.
