Chapter VII Strategy, Strategy, Strategy
Ophelia didn't bother to read their minds because no one would bother to team her. Why? She has ten million points and everyone are going after her. The blonde girl wouldn't blame them if they prefer to steal her points than teaming up.
"Now then, I will explain the rules of the cavalry battle." Midnight raises her hand. "The time limit is fifteen minutes. Each team is worth the total of its member's points, and the riders will wear a headband with that number on their foreheads. Teams will try to grab each other's headbands until time runs out, and try to keep as many points as they can. Stolen headbands must be worn from the neck up. So the more you steal, the harder it'll be to manage them! And the most important thing is that even if your headband gets stolen, or if your team falls, you're not out!" She explained.
"Either ten or twelve teams need to pass through the next round." Aileen commented and Crystal nodded her head.
"This is going to be tougher than I expected..." Ophelia is completely calm despite her bounty is high compares to everyone.
"You're way too calm Ophelia..." Gallade commented and sweat dropping while she returned with a peace sign. He would never understand her carefree expression.
"During the game, it'll be a cruel fight where you can use your Quirks or summoning Pokemon." Midnight pointed out since the three girls have their special permission to show off their team. "But it is still a cavalry battle. You'll get a red card for attacks that are trying to make people fall on purpose! You'll be removed immediately!"
Bakugou clicks his tongue. "Damn!" He swears and glaring at the calm happy-go-lucky Ophelia.
"Now, you have fifteen minutes to build your teams. Start!" Midnight declared.
Aileen, Gallade and Crystal are immediately been swarmed by the other students to be their team. "Woah!"
"PICK ME SYCAMORE-SAN!"
"PLEASE LET ME BE ON YOUR TEAM!"
"LARUSSO PLEASE LET ME JOIN ON YOUR TEAM!"
Aileen claps her hands three times to stop them and they did. "Sorry, guys! I'm partnering with Ambrosius and may the best team win!" She wished them luck and approaching the blonde girl. Aileen sighs heavily whereas she's plucking the flowers out of nowhere. "You're really hopeless, Ophie..." Ophelia couldn't do anything unless it's an emergency. It's hard to believe behind her intelligence, she's always carefree, no sense of direction and happy-go-lucky type of girl.
"Lee-lee!" Ophelia's face brightens to see her friend and hugging Aileen tight. "My hero!"
"Gah! You're choking me!" Aileen pushes her head away. "You're my friend and rival, Ophie. It would be a shame if you won't make it to the next round."
"Meanie!" Ophie pouts and blinks her eyes. "Hey, where's Gallade?"
"He's... there?" Her purple eyes blink to see Gallade is teaming up with the indigo-haired boy who declared war. "I guess that leaves us two."
Ophelia wraps her arm around Aileen's shoulder. "Together, we're an unstoppable team!" She declared and everyone heard her declaration.
It's going to be difficult to get the headband when two young powerful Class A are teaming up together. They have no chance to get it so easy especially they have Pokemon.
Back in the commentary box Professor Sycamore, Alexa and Diantha are watching the girls closely. "It's going to be hard for the others to take the ten million on Ophelia's headband." Diantha commented with a smirk.
"Behind her sneakiness and happy-go-lucky person, Ophelia is smarter than you think." Professor Sycamore explained calmly. "Two sides of the same coin and Crystal is the glue to make sure no one falls behind."
"I'm curious about this LaRusso Crystal... how did she gain powers?" Present Mic asked them curiously. "During the obstacle race, LaRusso didn't break a sweat using her Quirk."
"It's not our place to say how she gains power." Diantha answered calmly. "It would ruin the surprise. It's unusual for Gallade to team up someone else when Aileen didn't involve." She noticed Gallade is teaming someone else without Aileen's side.
"Wait a minute..." Professor Sycamore squints his eyes to watch the screen closely. "Can you zoom in on the camera please?"
"Ye-yeah, sure!" Present Mic looked startled at his requests but obeyed. "Whatcha looking for Prof?"
"Look at his red eyes..." Professor Sycamore points at Gallade's eyes. "No showing emotions but blank. The Gallade I know is always expressing his feelings and somehow-"
"Someone must've hypnotized him but the question is who?" Alexa finished Professor Sycamore's thought.
"I hope Aileen can figure it out to wake Gallade-"
"Or Gallade can fight it with the help of their bond." Diantha interrupted Professor Sycamore and they're looking at her. "Aileen obtain both mega stone and key of Gallade right? Soon, Aileen can sense Gallade's distress and she can save him. It's also the same way our bond with Gardevoir."
Crystal is about to approach the two girls. Someone grabs her wrists to prevent her from going with them. "Crystal-san!" The black-haired girl turned around to face Tetsutetsu. "Are you planning to join their team?"
"Ye-yeah, why?" She stuttered and Scorbunny jumps on Crystal's head. "They're my friends and I can't leave Ophie alone, since she always annoys Lee-lee to no end."
"You three are childhood friends?" Tetsutetsu asked with a surprised look on his face and cried in tears of joy. "You're so manly, Crystal-san! You're staying true loyal with your friends despite you're in a different class."
"Besides that... those three are also rivals despite their friends, Tetsu-kun!" Scorbunny explained. "Crystal is going to team up with them so they can all get into the next round."
"I'll join!" He declared and holding her hands gently. "I'll be your shield to protect the headband with my life!"
"Eh!?" Scorbunny nearly slips and hugs Crystal's neck. "We're not in the war! I mean- technically we are- but that's not the point!"
Crystal sweatdropped and smiles. "Why don't we ask Ophelia and she can decide." She suggested and dragging Tetsutetsu with her.
Aileen lifted her eyebrow to see Crystal is holding a hand with a messy gray-haired boy. "The boy with similar Quirk of Eijiro." She whispered under her breath.
"Are they dating!?" Ophelia squeals to see them holding hands. Their black-haired girl with emerald eyes isn't into a relationship until she found one."Our girl is growing up!" She wailed and Aileen slaps her head. "Ouch!"
Meowstic sighs heavily and shook his head. "Idiot."
"Hello." Aileen greeted them with a soft smile. "Are you going to join us?"
"Yeah." Crystal nodded her head. "You need another person to make sure Ophie didn't go crazy on you and Meowstic."
"She already did on us many times." Aileen and Meowstic answered in sync while they sweatdropped at their blunt answers.
Crystal smiles nervously and blinks. "That's strange, I thought Gallade is joining you guys." The blade Pokemon is missing to join them.
Aileen sighs heavily with a worried look on her face. "That's what I actually thought. Somehow... I feel like Gallade is in danger." It's unusual for Gallade not to inform Aileen where he's going unless it's an emergency.
"Are-are you guys actually twins?" Tetsutetsu asked curiously.
"No." She answered truthfully. "Gallade is my partner and friend. He shared the same surname with me because Gallade grew up with us."
"Gallade is a Pokemon like me." Meowstic spoke up and Tetsutetsu's eyes twinkle.
"That's so manly that you girls have your own Pokemon like Crystal and I!" He pumps his fists.
"Eh!? You have a Pokemon, too!? Um..." Ophelia didn't know his name.
"I'm Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu I know my parents name me by the same surname and they love it." He introduces himself and points his thumb on his chest. "If you let me join your team, I'll be your shield to protect the headband with my life!" He declared.
Ophelia and Aileen froze as they're staring at each other. "Is he the long-lost twin brother of Eijiro?" Aileen couldn't help but asked Ophelia curiously.
"They act the chivalrous gentleman and their Quirks are pretty much similar." Ophelia commented and tilting her head.
Crystal noticed they're having a mental conversation leaving Tetsutetsu and herself clueless. "Mind filling us in with your telepathy talk, Ophie?"
"She can do that!?" Tetsutetsu asked with a surprised look on his face to find out this girl can communicate through minds.
"Yup!" Ophelia answered and jumps in surprise at her voice on his head. "Don't worry, I do read people's minds but I didn't. We can talk with each other like this so no one could hear our plans." She taps her head and winks.
"That's awesome but wait, is my Quirk look similar to your classmate?" Tetsutetsu asked curiously and scratching his neck. "Hey, I'm sorry for being rude and thinking all Class A are full of themselves." He feels guilty to assume all of them are the type of people to show off. Tetsutetsu realizes they're not but being humble.
"There are few of us who have a pretty much huge ego and there's nothing to apologize. As for having similar Quirk- you guys do have the same but different name." Aileen assured the gray-haired boy. "What makes you want to join our team? People are avoiding us because she has a huge bounty compares to us."
"Your speech catches my attention and motivates me a lot, Sycamore-san." Tetsutetsu answered truthfully as the girls and Pokemon are surprised to hear his sincerity tone. "You push us to ensure we unleash our potentials. You also see us as your rival and I really appreciate it. That's why I vowed to help you guys out despite we're in a different class."
"Welcome aboard Tetsu-kun!" Ophelia accepts Tetsutetsu to join their team. "Your name is quite a mouthful but to give you a nickname and you can call our first names too." She smiles softly while closing her eyes.
"You have to tell us what Pokemon you have later, Tetsu-san." Aileen spoke up and her lips twitch up. "We need to plan out our formation."
"Okay!" Ophelia gives them a thumbs up before analyzing her team then smirks. "Tetsu-kun is going to be the middle. Lee-lee takes the left side and I'll do right. Crissie, you're going to be our rider." She formulated her plan. "You're more on fighting skill. She can use her bracelets or lasso to help Tetsu-kun to defend our headband. It's also easy for our small Pokemon to sit with her."
"Did you bring your Pokemon by any chance, Tetsu-san?" Aileen asked the gray-haired boy curiously.
"Hawlucha is with my parents and I didn't bring him here." Tetsutetsu answered truthfully.
"A flying/fighting dual Pokemon type." She answered with a smile. "Their unique of fighting never ceases to amaze me." Tetsutetsu nodded his head eagerly.
"Thanks to Crystal-san's help, I manage to understand Pokemon a bit with the help of the Pokedex." The black-haired girl couldn't help but blush slightly before looking away.
"Oh, la la~ someone's- ow!" Ophelia cried out in pain by Aileen's whack.
"Stop teasing, Ophelia Fay." She glares at her golden eyes and Ophelia laughs nervously.
"Aye~" She stuck her tongue out with a cute smile.
The times up and everyone managed to find their team. Midnight stretches her arms. "Now then, it's about time to get started!"
"After fifteen minutes to form teams and talk strategy, twelve cavalry teams are lined up on the field!" Present Mic declared.
"There are some interesting teams out there." Aizawa muttered and looks surprised to see his two girls are teaming up with two Class B students.
"Now, let us hear those battle cries!" Alexa exclaimed happily and the crowd cheers happily. "It's time for U.A's bloody battle!"
Crystal tied the headband around her neck and making herself comfortable. Tetsutetsu grips Ophelia and Aileen's hands to ensure their formation won't break easily.
"Light the signal fire!" Present Mic screamed.
"Guys..." Ophelia exhaled softly. "I'm the one they're after due to the highest bounty on my head. No one wanted me to team up until you guys came."
"Don't get sentimental on us, Ophie." Crystal teased the blonde girl. "We made a decision to stick with us. It's going to be boring without your craziness."
"Oi!"
Tetsutetsu laughs in amusement. "Are you girls usually teasing each other out?" He couldn't help but ask curiously.
"Yeah, we don't need someone to tell us they are being tense or nervous." Meowstic commented and looking at the different teams. "This is how we usually do to relax."
"Jokes aside. There is no doubt some of them are targeting us." Aileen spoke up. "We know our tasks and responsibilities to guard our points. We can use our small Pokemon to help us out."
"It's going to be hard to balance if we use them as our personal flying platform." Crystal commented and smirked lightly. "They're in for our surprise."
"I'll help you guys to protect the points at all costs!"Tetsutetsu vowed and they smiled.
"I'm counting on you guys." Ophelia smiles softly at them before looking at the other teams with her unusual serious expression. "It's time to show what we're made of."
"All right!" Alexa exclaimed happily and couldn't wait to see her favorite people in action. "You've made your teams, right? We won't bother to ask if you're ready or not!"
"Now, let's go!" Present Mic yelled causing Professor Sycamore, Alexa and Diantha to cover their ears. "Counting down to the brutal battle royal! Three!"
"We're aiming for..." Bakugou cracks his knuckles and glaring at Team LaRusso's coldly. [Team Bakugou points 665]
"Two!"
"One thing..." Todoroki whispered and looking at them. [Team Todoroki points 615]
"Come and get the points 'cause we're not that easy to get defeated." Crystal vowed with a smirk.[Team LaRusso points 10,000,515]
"One!"
"Start!" Midnight yelled and slamming her whip.
"It's basically a battle for the ten million points!" Tetsutetsu exclaimed and the team are running towards them.
"We're sinking!" Aileen gritted her teeth to feel the ground turned into a bit of liquid. Tetsutetsu recognized someone's Quirk and it's one of his classmates.
"It's Honenuki's Quirk!" Tetsutetsu groaned. "He touches any places to make it a bit liquid."
"Scorbunny use ember to attack Riko's team!" Crystal ordered her rabbit Pokemon.
"Got it!" Scorbunny hops high into the air and creates a small flame before blowing it on Riko's team.
"Woah!" Riko blows the fire using her Quirk to avoid getting hit.
"Hold on tight guys." Ophelia warned them and uses her psionic energy to levitate everyone. "Raichu use thundershock on Jiro's team." She opens her Pokeball to reveal Alolan Raichu. "Use psychic to help me descending down."
"Here I go!" Alola Raichu releases a huge amount of thunder to shock Jiro's team completely into crisps. "I didn't mean to shock them hard." He wailed and uses psychics to help Ophelia.
"It's fine Raichu, you're helping us to protect the headband." Meowstic comforted Raichu while he's whimpering.
"Now then, even though barely two minutes have passed since we've started, it's already turned into a free-for-all! Fights over the headbands breaking out all over! Ignoring the ten million points and going for the second to fourth places isn't bad, either!" Present Mic exclaimed. "Can they actually get the ten million points without the Pokemon guarding them!?"
"Incoming at two o'clock." Ophelia warned them and narrowing her golden eyes at Shoji.
They heard a familiar voice from Shoji's back. "Fighting? No, this is... a one-sided pillage!"
"They're making a tank style with Mineta and their unknown third team." Aileen explained. "Your friend is coming back as well, Tetsu-san and Crissie. We need to make a space."
"No matter how much we summon Pokemon, we can't be caught standing still against multiple opponents." Tetsutetsu explained. "Riko's Quirk can also allow her to summon butterflies."
"Does she has limits on how much she summons them?" Ophelia asked curiously and glancing at both sides.
"She can only summon once or twice otherwise, her stamina decrease." Crystal answered. "To summon winds, she needs to be careful because her oxygen will decrease as well."
"Summoning winds more may lead her to damage lungs completely." Aileen commented with a grim look on her face.
"That girl has completely serious drawbacks." Meowstic couldn't help but feel sorry for Iida's girlfriend.
"I'll block Shoji's team off." Aileen explained."Scorbunny use flamethrower on Riko's team." She traps Shoji's team to create a water sphere.
"Okay, time for me to shine!" Scorbunny yelled happily and summoning flamethrower big before kicking it like soccer. "Take this!" Riko's team dodging it successfully.
"They're actually more challenging than I expecting." Riko muttered with a smirk.
Ophelia's eyes glowed and floating up with the help of Raichu. Tetsutetsu noticed an ash-blond boy is flying towards them. "Eh!? It's the porcupine Bakagou!" She yelled in surprise.
"Don't get carried away!" Bakugou yelled and about to snatch Crystal's headband.
"Like I would let you!" Tetsutetsu yelled and his legs turned into steel to slam Bakugou down. "I can't believe he got separated from his team! Is that even allowed!?" He exclaimed with a disbelief look on his face.
Sero uses his tape to grab Bakugou safely before he hits on the ground. The R-Rated Hero smirked. "It's a technicality, so it's okay!" She answered Tetsutetsu's question. "It wouldn't have been if he'd touched the ground, though!"
"They seriously need to explain their rules in detailed." Meowstic muttered and Scorbunny simply laughs.
Ophelia and Alola Raichu manage to land safely on the ground. "Thanks for the save, Tetsu-kun." Crystal thanked Tetsutetsu and he smiled with a proud look on his face.
"I can't let you girls do all the hard work by yourselves. I'm here to help too!" Tetsutetsu vowed and Ophelia smirked.
"We just can't relax for even a minute." Aileen glares at Ophelia and she smiled cheekily while they're running away from them.
"As expected, everyone's after the first-place team, and Class A is in hot pursuit!" Present Mic yelled. "Everyone's got skill!"
"Now, shall we take a look at each team's points... it's been seven minutes! Here are the current rankings up on the screen!" Alexa announced and the crowds look confused. "Eh? Wait a minute..."
"Other than team LaRusso, Class A isn't doing well..." Present Mic explained. "Bakugou, what!?" They find out Bakugou's point is zero.
"Yikes... whoever stole Bakugou's points is going to face hell." Ophelia commented as Aileen and Meowstic nodded their head.
"At least he won't be chasing us for now..." Crystal pointed out and smiles nervously. "I feel sorry for Monoma."
"They shouldn't provoke Bakugou if they know what's good for them." Aileen commented with a smirk. "Knowing him, he'll get the headband back."
"Someone has a crush on our walking Voltrob." Ophelia teased Aileen causing Meowstic to whack her head. "Ow!"
"Focus, Ophie! We still have eight minutes to survive this battle." The constraint Pokemon reminded her. There's no time and place to tease Aileen's love life when they need to survive this event.
"Yes~" Ophie narrowed her gaze at the team right in front of them. "Todoroki..." She muttered under her breath.
"Less than half the time is left now!" Present Mic announced. "The cavalry battle is about to enter the second half! In this unexpected rise of Class B, who will wear the ten million points in the end!?"
Todorki narrowed his eyes at them with a cold expression. "I'll be taking that now." He declared and Crystal simply narrowed her emerald eyes.
They need to survive the game at all costs if they want to make it to the next game.
