So this challenge is the comeback challenge and is pretty much the only chapter that doesn't include any Cody in it. This chapter is also a bit shorter than before. This chapter mainly serves as a check in with the previously eliminated contestants and their thoughts on the game. Also want to note that I didn't do all the foods in the canon episode and decided to do a few others.
Also this chapter is gonna set up a few things later down the road as there will be a Season 2 for Action. I haven't quite finalized the cast for who will make it. The only ones completely locked in are Cody (duh he's the main character), Bridgette, Beth, Justin, and Courtney (the latter three got more character development in Action so likewise they will be in Season 2). As for the rest I haven't quite decided yet.

Chapter 24: Brunch of Disgustingness
Mess Hall (Narration)
Chris and Chef were waiting in the Mess Hall for the eliminated contestants as each of the past eliminated contestants came in one at a time.
"Welcome pre-merge contestants first of all we need to get seating arrangements down so girls sit on the left table guys sit on the right, as you all know you guys are competing today dor a second chance at this game. Here's how it'll work, Chef Hatchet here will prepare a nasty meal for you, the last one to finish per table is eliminated, and if you puke the meal and you don't want to be eliminated you have to still eat it. No exceptions. Everyone understand the rules?" Chris asked at the everyone nodded their head.
"Allright Chef prepare the first meal." Chris ordered Chef Hatchet to do who mumbled under his breath and Chris walked away.
"So what would you guys do with a second chance eh." Ezekiel asked the guys.
"Win the competition duh Zeke." Justin said, sounding clearly annoyed.
"For me it's being reunited with my little buddies Noah and Cody. I'm so proud that both have made it so far." Owen cheerfully said.
"Dude, you sound like a proud father." Trent told Owen who had a sheepish smile on his face.
"I mean I am proud of the guys, I don't think anyone expected Noah and Cody to make it this far. What do you think DJ?" Owen asked DJ who looked deep in thought.
"Oh sorry what was that?" DJ asked.
Meanwhile on the Girls Table
"Izzy is so excited to do this. I want another shot. This game needs some Izzy!" Izzy proudly acclaimed making most of the girls cringed.
"That's something Izzy. I just want to return to the game to make things right with Heather." Beth said, looking ashamed. "The way I treated her during the end of my stay wasn't justified.
"I just want to get some revenge on Sadie. She's not the innocent little sunflower she portrays herself as." Leshawna said as Courtney nodded but Katie didn't agree.
"She's nice. When you get to know her." Katie said trying to defend her friend.
"Girl. I know you two are best friends but she gave Courtney a black eye shoved Heather in a face full of mud and ever since you left she has been not as good as she was at hiding her true colors." Leshawna said until Courtney interjected
"They aren't part of any rainbow I have ever seen in my life.
Eva then butted in. "Yeah Katie I get defending your friend but she needs to leave this game asap before she does something she regrets. I assume Courtney if you return you'd be happy to see Duncan again?" Eva asked.
"Of course. I just hope he's doing okay right now." Courney said.
Before any of the girls could say more Chris showed up with the first dish.
"Ghost Pepper Hungarian Soup. This stuff is hot enough to burn ice into water instantly. All you guys have to do is clear the soup and advance to the next round." Chris explained while Chef handed the bowls to each competitor.
"3,2,1! Go!" Chris said. Almost instantly Owen and Eva were the first two done.
"Ew oh my gosh. This is so hot my mouth feels like it's on fire." Katie said trying to calm down
A few minutes later Leshawna, Ezekiel, Trent and Courtney had finished.
"I don't know if I can do it. Maybe I should give up." Katie said, sounding overwhelmed.
"No! Katie you got this!" Trent called out to his girlfriend who got a sudden confidence boost and finished.
"Izzy and Beth, one of you ladies need to finish!" Chris said. The pressure of it all got to Izzy as she then chugged the hot soup while Beth couldn't take it anymore as Izzy finished.
"Izzy is done which means Beth you are out. We still need two males to finish." At that moment DJ finished. "Make that one more." Geoff had barely touched his soup seeing almost mentally out of it. Justin seeing his opponent struggling so much decided to take advantage of it and managed to finish even if his mouth felt like an inferno.
"Geoff is out joining Beth. Now if you guys mind, head off to the confessional cam to give your final thoughts on your time in the game." Chris told them. "Starting in the merge and from here on out everyone gives their final thoughts in the confession cam before officially leaving once and for all. Understand?" Chris asked at the end, which got both Beth and Geoff to nod their head in agreement. "All right head out."
Confessional- Beth
"Ugh I wanted to return to the game so badly. Maybe Chris will have another season. Actually knowing him he would. But regardless my time on Total Drama Island was a disappointment. This past week when I was out of the game. I realized how much I messed up. I was in such a good spot on the team and no one was paying attention to me and then I took that stupid tiki doll turned on Heather way too soon and gave Cody every reason not to trust me when I showed him the thing that cursed my team. I wish good luck to all the competitors even Heather and I hope when this show is over her and I can talk things out.
Confessional- Geoff
"I didn't want to return to be honest. Bridgette needs to realize she likes Cody and the longer I'm there the more I am delaying the inevitable. I know Bridgete will be crushed. I didn't return but she will thank me someday that I didn't stand in the way of what she truly wanted. As for my time on Total Drama Island? It has been a blast as I have made lifelong friends with guys like DJ, Trent, and many others. To whoever returns you have my full support dude or dudette and I wish all the competitors the best of luck.
Mess Hall
"Allright competitors it is time for the second round. Pizza time. More specifically pizza covered in live grasshoppers, jellyfish and anchovies. Each of you gets a slice. The last guy and girl to finish are out" Chris said.
Immediately once again Owen finished, same with Eva and Courtney. Justin was the fourth one to finish and soon after Ezekiel finished.
"Alright for the guys it's down to DJ and Trent. For the ladies it is down to Izzy, Leshawna, and Katie. Come on people finish up we got our next food dish ready to go!"
"Izzy's done!" Izzy proclaimed out loud showing an empty mouth.
"Sorry Katie! I am not leaving this game like this!" Leshawna defiantly said as she finished her slice.
"Katie's out!" Chris announced as Trent saw his girlfriend had her head hold down in shame. Trent decided to bow out as he didn't want to be apart from Katie as DJ finished.
"Trent's out which means Trent and Katie can head to the confessional for some final thoughts." Chris announced. "Also not doing it together."
Trent and Katie both complained at the same time "Aw man." before looking at each other and blushing as they headed out of the Mess Hall.
Confessional- Katie
"I wanted to return so badly to calm Sadie down, because from what Leshawna told me the past few days in regards to Sadie the anger and blind rage in Sadie has only just started. As for my time on Total Drama Island, it was something that now I've had a couple weeks to think about it. I have regrets but not for the reasons you may think, I regret sacrificing myself for Sadie. I had forgotten how unhinged Sadie gets without me, and now that I am gone from the game for good, I can only wish luck for Sadie that she gets under control but I know that's not gonna happen and wish good luck to everyone in the game. I'm just glad I met Trent, he is such a gentleman and he is such a great boyfriend."
Confessional- Trent
"I couldn't go on when I saw Katie was out. She has been one of the best things in my life these past few weeks and I wanted to stay with her at the loser resort. As for my time on Total Drama Island, if it wasn't for Katie I don't know if it'd be worth it but she is amazing. It did suck to get mauled by a bear, but I am a quick healer. I wish Cody the best of luck and hope he can calm Sadie down, not to mention finally ask Bridgette out. If anyone can do it it is him. He's a good guy. Good luck Cody you deserve it.
Mess Hall
"Round three." Chris announced "And it's bug cake!" Chris aid as every person was shown frosting and bugs scattered around the cake slice.
"You are sick McLean" Courtney said. "Oh my god, it's moving, it's moving!"
"That is a lot of insects." DJ said looking like he was about ready to throw up.
"Ready set go." Chris announced and it was off.
Owen once again was the first one done followed by Courtney, Leshawna, and shockingly Ezekiel who was unphased. However Leshawna couldn't keep it down and puked it up right away.
"Something's coming up" was all Leshawna could say before she began puking.
"Ew nasty. Remember Leshawna if you puke it you have to scarf it down still."
"You belong in a fucking prison Chris!" Leshawna said as she began putting it back down and this time she kept it down for good, despite that she was shaking.
DJ was the next one to finish and Izzy finished making Eva and Justin the next two out.
"Damnit!" Eva cussed under her breath. While Justin just looked silently and seemed content he was out.
"Justin and Eva this is the end of the road for both of you. Head on out." Chris said as Eva looked angry.
Confessional- Eva
"Ugh. I wanted to win this game so badly. But my damn temper got in the way. I have my reasons for winning that I'd rather not say and now I have to go home the last place I wanna be. I can only hope there is another season to show people my true strength. As for Total Drama Island, I met some people I normally wouldn't associate with and on the brightside yeah. I have calmed down these past few weeks and I wanted this second chance to show that everyone that I have changed, as I am always judged due to my tough exterior but if you don't provoke me I like to think I am a decent person. If there is a second chance I hope I get it but if not ugh, this seriously sucks.
Confessional- Justin
*flashes a mirror to admire himself* "I'm not sad to leave. This game was only for 100,000$, now if it was for a million dollars then you'd see my more competitive side, something no one here would be ready for. If I get a second chance in the game, I might take a page out of Sadie's book and be a bit more vengeful. As for my time here, I got outplayed and taken out before I could make a name for myself. On the brightside this show even if it doesn't get another season I at least got exposure for my modeling career. I know the neck modeling agency needs a spokesperson and I am always available."
Mess Hall
"I am so enjoying this,'' Chris said, chuckling. "Anyways round 4! The next food dish is Cheez-Its dipped in (gags) Nutella. Chef, why the hell this meal?" Chris moaned before handing it out doing his best to not puke at the disgusting meal.
"That's not Nutella!" Courtney said getting her meal doing her best to not gag.
Chef then chuckled, "Yeah the Nutella is expired to say the least." Chef told everyone which got Chris to run out of the place to puke his guts out. "While Chris deals with that. Time to eat Maggots!"
Owen was about to eat when he took one bite of the contraption and he saw a live cockroach in the meal which instantly got the big guy to pass out. Not anting to waste any time DJ and Ezekiel instantly closed their eyes and despite both gagging both managed to get their meals down.
"Owen is out. Ladies we just need two of you" Chef began to say until he saw Izzy eat the whole thing "Okay make that one of you." Chef told Leshawna and Courtney, unfortunately for Leshawna she puked again and this time she forfeited as it wasn't worth it in Leshawna's eyes anymore to go through anymore pain.
"Leshawna you and Owen are out head on out to the confessional for some final thoughts" Chef said as Leshawna who looked sick and Owen who was in pain very slowly walked out of the Mess Hall.
Confessional- Owen
"Ugh, I guess that means my time is up. I really wanted to return and be reunited with my little buddies Noah and Cody. Besides Izzy they are my best friends here. Overall, Total Drama Island was a great experience. I fell in love with Izzy and met some great friends. I wish I could have stayed longer. I do find it funny that food took me out both times. I hope Izzy returns and more importantly I hope either her, Noah or Cody win. They are really great people and friends for life."
Confessional- Leshawna
"Damn it. I was so close. Ugh. I just couldn't do it anymore, no matter how badly I wanted to see Harold, my precious stomach just couldn't take it any more. For my game these past few days have given me some time to think. First of all Sadie, girl you are a snake in the grass and I can only hope karma gets you one way or the other. But with my stay in the game there was one thing that made this experience all worth it and that's Harold. He is one of the greatest guys you can ever know, I can only hope he finds a way to win, but even if he doesn't I know he and I are meant to be together and I look forward to seeing where this relationship takes us."
Mess Hall
Chris came back in after the last round grossed him out. "Attention campers, this is the final round. Whoever completes their meals first for the guys and girls respectively wins a second chance at the prize. Also as a bonus the two of you that get back in the game you also earn automatic immunity in the next round of the game. As for the losers, you are out of the game for good. This next meal is taking a while so I'll be out for a few minutes."
DJ decided to speak up when he saw the coast was clear "Hey guys no matter who comes back let's all agree to work together."
"I agree eh. The rest could easily pick us off if they feel like it eh." Ezekiel said.
"I guess" Courtney said, sounding unsure.
"But Ezekiel you need to stop being sexist and DJ needs to stop being so soft" Izzy said excitedly.
"I promise I will eh. What says you DJ?" Ezekiel asked DJ who was sitting next to him.
"I'll try, what do you girls plan to do differently if you guys have a second chance since Zeke and I are gonna change things about us?" DJ asked.
"I simply want to get Sadie out." Courtney defiantly said, sounding clearly annoyed at the girl for outplaying her and getting her out. "She is on a power trip soon and she needs to be taken out and I wanna be the one to take her down."
"Oh really Courtney, I just want to reunite with my friend Noah and make him feel happy as Izzy likes to keep her friends happy." Izzy proudly said.
Chris then came back in with four plates covered up as he announced the last dish "Okay guys and girls we have one last meal and this will be different for the guys and the girls. So are you guys ready?" Chris asked.
"Yes, bring it on Chris! I am so freaking ready!" Ezekiel proudly claimed.
"See that's the spirit Ezekiel so we'll have the guys go first and the meal is a veggie burger!" as Chris presented the dish.
"A veggie burger?!" Courtney said out loud.
"A veggie burger?" Chef said, looking confused.
"A veggie burger? How could you do this?" Ezekiel said, sounding both shocked and annoyed "Where's the meat?!"
"Alright enough chit chat, get eating!" Chris said as DJ didn't mind it but did seem sick from all the food.
"I can't do it no I can't do it! I'm out." Ezekiel said.
"Alright then Ezekiel is out which means DJ has earned his way back into the game." Chris announced.
"Aw yeah!" DJ said before looking over to Ezekiel who was clearly distraught about losing after coming
so close to re-entering the game.
"Zeke don't beat yourself up." DJ told Ezekiel as he brought the prairie boy in for a hug. "You're a good guy and you made it so far in the challenge. I'm sorry I won Zeke, just stay strong. Don't let anyone tell you can't because today proved you can do something if you put your mind to it".
"Thanks DJ. Good luck in the game. What do you plan to do when you get back?"
"Besides win, make things right with Tyler and help the dude out." DJ said.
"Enough with this mushy stuff. Izzy and Courtney here's your dish. Cockroach smoothie, ingredients include cockroaches, expired milk, toilet water and some leftover anchovies from the pizza all mixed together."
"THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!" Courtney yelled out. "They get an expired veggie burger and we have to drink a cockroach smoothie? This is bullshit."
"Tsk, tsk, Courtney I seem to recall you claiming in your pre-season bio that you had a very strong stomach." Chris snorted back.
"Well yeah but-"
"Then you should have zero problem drinking this." Chris finished for her.
"Fine, let's just get this over with." Courtney said as Chef handed both girls the smoothie.
"First girl to finish wins and joins, DJ back in the game." Chris told them.
"Good luck ladies." DJ said.
As both women tried to drink the smoothie both kept on gagging all of a sudden a look of fire was in Izzy's eyes as she downed the whole smoothie in one sitting as she downed it thinking of wanting to make Owen proud and more importantly she remembered what Geoff told her on the way here.
*Flashback*
"How's my little buddy Noah doing?" Owen asked Geoff on the boat of losers on the way back to the island for the comeback competition.
"Yeah I am excited and curious how my Nono is doing" Izzy said.
"Oh dudes, Noah and Duncan got in a fight and Noah ended up in the infirmary. It was wicked." Geoff said.
"Is he all better now?" Owen asked, concerned.
"He is but Duncan told me that Noah is jealous of him and Gwen's friendship." Geoff said.
"Oh" Izzy sat there in thought.
*End Flashback*
Mess Hall
See even though Izzy was dating Owen and was very committed to the relationship, she felt a special friendship with Noah, nothing romantic but from the way Geoff was describing Duncan and Noah's feud, Izzy had this gut feeling that Noah wasn't just mad at Duncan and there was more to the story and she wanted to find out what as she wanted Noah to be happy.
"Just like that Izzy is done with her meal. Sorry Courtney you're out." Chris announced shocking DJ and Ezekiel
"WHAT! No! No." Courtney began to say before calming herself down. "No, no it's fine I did the best I could and nothing more you can ask for. Good luck Izzy. You deserve it." Courtney said as she turned to her fellow camper.
"Courtney and Ezekiel this is the end of the road, head on out to the confessionals for some final words." Chris said and both did as instructed, both looking upset for coming so close but understanding nonetheless.
Confessional- Ezekiel
"Ugh. So close and yet so far eh. I did the best I think I possibly could. I just couldn't take it anymore. Congrats DJ and Izzy on returning eh. I wish them the best of luck and Cody. I still remember him helping me out in the real world once this show is over. Total Drama Island has been a fun way for me to meet new people. I just wish I could have had this second chance to show the world I am not sexist and to show there's more to me than that meets the eye eh. Good luck to all my campers. Bye!"
Confessional- Courtney
"Damn it. I really wanted to win the challenge and get back in the game like I think I deserved. But Izzy won fair and square and there's nothing I can do about it. (Sighs) As for Total Drama Island, all I have to say is that for Sadie, may karma bite you in the ass like you so righteously deserve. DJ and Izzy good luck in the game. But most of all to the bad boy Duncan who stole my heart and despite being someone I normally wouldn't associate with, he warmed his way into me despite my protests and I really hope he finds a way to win this game. If I ever get a chance to return I will show the true competitive side in me and more importantly I will show everyone that my elimination is not a fluke.
Mess Hall
"Congrats DJ and Izzy not only do you guys return to the game but you each have immunity from this next elimination." Chris told the remaining two. "I'll go tell the remaining campers their reward they got is over and to meet you guys here."
"Yo Chris what was their reward?" DJ asked.
"Video call message from home." Chris told the two.
"Aw man that'd be great so I can speak to my momma. But this second chance is worth it." DJ said as Chris was walking out.''Wouldn't it be great to talk to your family Izzy" DJ said happily not noticing Izzy's frown on her face.
"What huh? Yeah Izzy would like that." Izzy said half heartedly but DJ could tell she wasn't being honest.
"Is something wrong Izzy?" DJ asked.
"No. I'm fine. Say DJ, do you want to work together now that we are back in the adventure?" Izzy excitedly said.
"Sure. I did suggest that. (sigh) I hope Tyler's doing okay from what Geoff described it seemed like Tyler was rather emotional to say the least."
"Honestly DJ it feels like with the people left we are entering a war zone in this game heh he BOOM BOOM!" Izzy said, sounding very happy.
"Ah you scared me Izzy."
"Oops sorry." Izzy said as she heard footsteps coming in. "Ooh someone's coming looks like it's time to meet our opponents. Ready for this second chance?"
DJ simply nodded and unknowing to him, he said in unison with Cody who was opening the door at the same time the same thing Cody had said when he first came into the game.
"I'm ready!"
So just like that Izzy and DJ are back in the game. I decided on Izzy and DJ for multiple reasons. For Izzy I liked her dynamic with Noah and I wanted to expand on it a bit more and also have Izzy play a role in Noah's story this season. For DJ I wanted him and Tyler back together as writing their dynamic was also fun, and I wanted DJ to continue play a role in Tyler's arc and to also be there for some comic relief. As for who didn't return and why I didn't bring them back.
Ezekiel had pretty much no storyline I could expand on beyond just Cody teaching him about the real world but I didn't think it was smart to bring him back just for that. Eva and Justin have no storyline and would have been filler characters (both will be important later on). Owen would have been more of the same being a goofball but I knew with izzy returning I didn't want both Izzy and Owen there as I only wanted one of them involved in Noah's storyline. Katie was someone I did consider briefly but I need her out of the game to continue to feed into Sadie's revenge, paranoia and antagonistic role. Courtney was the one I was debating with a lot but I backed out as I knew I would give her more attention and character in Action. Trent was never someone I considered as he also would have been filler or at least close too it and I'd rather have Izzy involved in the Duncan/Noah feud than Trent. Beth like Courtney is someone I am gonna expand on in Action so she was never a candidate for returning, Leshawna's storyline this season was over and I needed her out to serve a couple of people still in the game stories (mainly Harold and Sadie). Lastly Geoff, was also never considered since his story this season ended when he broke up with Bridgette.
Next chapter will be the reveal and the day after aftermath for the comeback challenge and how everyone reacts too it.
