In the shadow temple, Sonic found it easy to find the right path with the lens of truth. He went to a lower level and found the tectonic twin he was looking for.

"Pressure!"

"Sonic!" grinned Pressure, running up to embrace him. "We've been looking everywhere for you," said Sonic. "Pushy's been worried sick."

"Oh, I'm sorry," said Pressure, "I'm sure I'll be in a lot of trouble when I go home, but I can't leave yet. Did you feel the ground shaking?"

"Yeah, it did rumble when Bongo Bongo came out of the well," said Sonic. "That's because Bongo Bongo can shake the ground by stomping on it with his disembodied hands. It's creepy," said Pressure. "I escaped to the Shadow Temple to hide from Bongo Bongo, but now that he's back in the temple, you're my only hope. If you get too close to Bongo Bongo, his claps will knock you on the ground and you'll end up with a sore bottom after the fight. But if you wear these hover boots, you won't bounce too much. They can absorb the blow from a shockwave clap like when Bongo Bongo stomps on the ground." She handed him a pair of hover boots. When Sonic put them on, he felt a little lighter and found himself hovering one inch off the ground. "See? Now you can walk on air!" giggled Pressure. Sonic chuckled. "Thanks, Pressure. These'll come in really handy!" And off he went.

The lens of truth took him to the upper level where he found the map. In the next room, he found the compass. After travelling up one flight of stairs, he found a big chest in front of him. The chest contained the boss key, and, after Sonic travelled a little ways forward, he soon found the boss door. Using the key to open the door, Sonic found himself in the boss room, but where was Bongo Bongo?
