Wanda's POV:

"It's been six months," Steve said softly. "And we still don't have a lead."

This was the first time I had been to the compound this month. I had tried to come and see the twins a few times each month but it just hurt so much. Bucky had told them about Mya during month two. Every day I wake up hoping it's the day that we're going to find her and every day I lay in bed disappointed.

"I know," I said with a sigh.

"Maybe you should stay here for a little while," he suggested. "What if I went to go look for her now?"

"I can't let you do that," I told him. Glancing over at him I saw that he had begun to pace around the room. "I should be the one to find her."

"I know," he murmured. "But maybe you should take a little break. Stay with the twins, I mean you are their mom as well."

"I know I am," I whispered. "But it hurts to look at them."

"How do you think Mya felt for five years?" he asked softly. Steve walked over to me and grabbed my hands. "You need to be there for them as well. They're going through the same thing."

"I should go," I told him. My hands fell from his. "I'm going to go home."

"You haven't been back there in months," Steve noted.

"Yeah," I whispered. "But it feels right. And maybe she'll go back there first?"

It wasn't a question but I asked it like it was. Steve walked me out the front door towards my car. I opened the car door and turned back to him.

"Promise me that you'll call if anything happens," I told him. He pulled me into a tight hug.

"I swear on my life," he whispered in my ear.

We pulled away from each other and he let me get into the car. I shut the door and turned on the vehicle. Steve watched as I pulled away from the compound.

I walked on the crowded streets of Times Square. My hood was pulled over my head and it covered most of my face. My eyes were focused on the ground as I walked. I had told myself that going on this walk was just because I needed to get out of the house, but that was a lie. I had been walking around the twenty-third house on Cornelia Street for the past week reliving old memories. Steve called the other night asking if it was fine with me to start training the twins. I had figured they had already started but I suppose not.

While I was lost in my mind I ran into someone. I glanced up quickly. Her vibrate blue eyes met mine for a second before they flicked away. I was so caught off guard I didn't run after her when she walked away from me.

"Mya!" I shouted, chasing after the girl.

She didn't look back at me instead she took off through the crowd. Her blond hair laid on her shoulders and she wore a black hat on the top of her head. She was dressed in all black. I looked around me for a moment before I darted into the crowd after her. She ducked into an alley and I was quick to follow after her. I watched as she reached the end and turned left following the rush of people. I stopped at the end of the alley and stood on the tips of my toes trying to find her in the large number of people. Seeing a black hat I took off again. She had started walking thinking that she had lost me in the crowd but I was smarter than that. I got right behind her and tapped on her shoulder.

"Where have you been these past six months?" I asked out of breath. As the woman turned around I saw that it was not Mya.

"I'm sorry?" she asked. We stood in the middle of the sidewalk staring at each other.

"Oh," I muttered. Tears formed in my eyes. "I'm sorry I thought you were someone-"

"You're an Avenger!" she shouted. The crowd around us stopped to get a good look at me. People pulled their phones from their pockets and started to take photos or videotape me. I spun around seeing that there was no real exit for me. The crowd inched closer and closer towards me. They shouted my name and asked me for things. The noise was becoming too much to bear.

"I'm sorry… I thought you were someone else," I mumbled to the lady. The crowd continued to grow in size and in noise. My ears rang and a headache began to form in the back of my head. I tried to push through the crowd but they just pushed me back towards the lady in the small opening. Again I walked towards the crowd but this time I was shoved to the ground. My knees slid against the slick pavement.

The crowd shouted at me and I had gotten to the point where it was too much. I grabbed my ears trying to block out the noise but it was too much. My head spun and a scream escaped my lips. The crowd went silent and I looked around. Ropes or red energy choked everyone around me and they were all gasping for air.

"No, no, no," I whispered. I tried to pull back the energy and at first, it didn't come back to me. I tried not to freak up and I finally got it. Most of the people were on their knees trying to check their breath. I saw my moment and took off running back towards Cornelia Street.

Mya's POV:

I watched the events below me play out. Wanda grabbed her head and fell to the ground. Energy shot out and began to choke the crowd.

"Good job," Hayward said through my earpiece. "Now the world can see how much of a danger she is."

"How did she know who I was?" I asked. In the back of my head, I knew there was something that Hayward hadn't told me about the girl.

"I don't know," I could tell that Hayward was lying. I watched cautiously as Wanda took off down the street. Glancing across the street I saw the building across from me had a lower roof than the one that I stood on.

"I'm going in," I said to Hayward. Jogging to the edge of the roof I took a deep breath.

"No," Hayward commanded. "Get back here now!"

I paused for a moment. Looking across the rooftop I saw the door that led back down into the building. My feet followed Hayward's command but my mind screamed at it to follow Wanda. As I approached the door my hand reached for my ear. Gritting my teeth I pulled the earpiece out and threw it on the ground. I gasped for breath trying to fight for my own thoughts and body. The fog in the corner of my eyes cleared a little.

"Wanda," I muttered when I realized what I had done. My thoughts were once again my own. I had full control of my body again. I turned my head to look across the roof. Taking a deep breath I broke into a dead sprint towards the edge.

My body soared through the air but I knew I wasn't going to make it to the other rooftop. I glanced down quickly and saw the ground quickly approaching.

"Crap, this isn't going to feel good," I muttered. I hit the ground and stuck the landing. The crowd that had just come in contact with Wanda shouted at me but I simply ignored them and ran down the street. My knees felt shaky from the jump I had just landed but I couldn't let Wanda get that far away from me.

To my left, I saw a thing of red shoot up into the air. I looked down at my wrist and saw that I still had my bracelet on. With a quick double-tap, my suit appeared over my clothes. I shot a thing of web at a nearby building and took off after Wanda. It didn't take me long to figure out where she was going. Pushing myself to go faster I swung towards Cornelia Street. I swung around the corner and landed on the street just as she began to shut the door and lock out the world.

"Wanda!" I shouted. The door stopped closing and slowly opened. I saw her peek her head out the doorway and when she saw me her face hardened. I rushed towards her and pulled her into a tight hug. "I am so sorry!"

"Where have you been?" she asked quickly, pushing me away from her. I stumbled backwards into the street.

"What?"

"You've been gone for six months!" she shouted at me. "You disappeared without a trace!"

Tears began to form in her eyes.

"It's not what-"

"Then what is it, Mya?" she asked, interrupting me. "What is it? You left and think it's ok to show up again six months later?"

"No," I said defensively. "A lot happened."

"Yeah?" she scoffed.

"Wanda?"

"My heart, my hips, my body, my love trying to find a part of me that you didn't touch!" she said to me slowly. Tears fell from her eyes and hit the pavement below her. She walked towards. "Gave up on me like I was a bad drug!"

"No, it wasn't like th-"

"Our songs, our films, united we stand!" she said, cutting me off. "Our country guess it was a lawless land! Quiet my fears with the touch of your hand paper cut stings from my paper-thin plans."

"Wanda, please!" I begged.

"My time, my wine, my spirit, my trust!" she continued. "Trying to find a part of me that you didn't take up! Gave you too much but it wasn't enough?"

"It was more than enough," I said rushing towards her. I grabbed her hands and looked into her eyes.

"But I'll be alright it's just a thousand cuts," she whispered, pulling away from me. I grabbed her wrist and pulled her back to me. It reminded me of that first night we spent together after I took her home from the club.

"I didn't run that night," I whispered. "I was kidnapped. I have spent the past six months in the same cell… the one that Allie… died in. I promise you I didn't run I wouldn't have done that to you."

Her hand reached for my face but I flinched a little.

"What did they do to you?" she asked softly. I knew that she knew something was wrong when I flinched at her touch.

"Please, don't," I whispered. I held her hands and placed my forehead on hers. "I'm here now, that's all that matters."

There was a noise from behind us and I spun around. Hayward stood across the street clapping. A small laugh escaped his lips. I stepped in front of Wanda shielding her from the wicked man.

"So cute," he laughed. "But I'm going to need Mya back."

"What?" Wanda asked softly.

"I'm not going with you!" I shouted at the man.

"It's not up to you," he said with a wicked grin. "Желание, Ржавый!"

My eyes widened and I stumbled backwards into Wanda.

"What is going on?" she asked quickly.

"Семнадцать!"

"Get back!" I muttered to Wanda trying to get around her. She knew something was wrong but she didn't move.

"Mya?"

"Рассвет, Печь!"

"Please, you need to go!" I told her, pushing her towards the door. I watched as she stared at the man across the street. Her eyes flared red and energy formed in her hands.

"What are you doing to her?" she shouted.

"Девять!" Hayward said with a large smile. I knew the deed was almost finished and it was a matter of seconds before I was completely gone. I could feel the serum starting to mess with my head pushing away thoughts of my own.

"Добросердечный!"

"Go!" I said with one final gasp.

"Возвращение на, родину на, родину вагый. Солдат?" he asked, walking across the street towards me. As his feet hit the pavement I felt myself standing taller not wanting to disappoint him.

"Я жду приказаний," I told the evil man waiting for further orders.

"Kill the girl," he told me, waving his hand towards Wanda. "She's useless to us."

My muscles tensed knowing in the back of my head that what I was about to do was wrong. For a moment I thought I was going to be able to break free from the serum's control, but I knew that it was hopeless when my body prepared to attack Wanda.
