Hiccup and Snotlout stood there on the cape, getting ready to start their duel.

"I know you don't want me to hold back, but I think it's only fair that I give you handicap since you're injured," said Hiccup.

"I don't need your pity!" Snotlout roared. "I, after all, have 8000 men on my side! If you don't surrender now, I'll order them to attack!"

"What?" Chopper stared bewildered. "Why didn't he tell me?"

"How can you fall for that?" said Toothless rolling his eyes.

"I'm not taking pity; I'm just making this a fair fight," said Hiccup. "Throughout this entire duel, I'll stay in my human form."

"Do whatever you want, but I'm going to win this and claim the Going Tiger!" Snotlout yelled.

"Then let's get this started," said Hiccup.

Hiccup then charged towards him, clenching his fist, and true to his word, he remained in his human form. However, Snotlout then suddenly coughed out blood and then fell to his knees, causing him to pause.

"What happened?" said Fishlegs, terrified.

"Snotlout, please don't die!" Chopper pleaded.

Snotlout then immediately took advantage of Hiccup's hesitation quickly punched him across the face.

"I thought you were smart, Captain," he said, brushing away what turned out to be tomato ketchup on his chin. "Can't believe you fell for a simple trick! Snot Hammer!"

He then began unleashing a barrage of punches before Hiccup had a chance to regain his footing. His quick jabs worked, and Hiccup felt the ground, but only for a split second as he quickly jumped back onto his feet.

"That was a dirty underhanded trick," said Hiccup.

"What you expect from pirates?" Snotlout smirked, and then he quickly tossed a large rock at him before he had a chance to react. "I'll also be careful you step because there are some nasty caltrops."

Hiccup looked around and saw that he was right; now down during his quick jabs, he took the opportunity to drop some caltrops on the ground. The rock grazed him on the shoulder, causing him to lose his balance, and he fell right down on top of the caltrops. He immediately cried out in pain as the spikes punctured his skin.

"He's controlling the battlefield," said Chopper.

"Who knew he had this in him," said Ruffnut.

"Yeah, he never demonstrated this kind of skill before," said Tuffnut.

"Listen, Hiccup, you can pity me if you want, but I'm going to beat you and take the Tiger with me!" Snotlout yelled determinedly. "And I don't care what it takes!"

Astrid and the others could only watch, knowing they can interfere.

"Snotlout," said Astrid.

Hiccup had picked himself up just in time to be hit in the head by another rock. He toppled over then quickly placed his hand on the ground treading on yet another cow drop.

"I'm getting real sick and tired of these games," said Hiccup.

"I'm not playing around," said Snotlout raising his fists. "I'm not going to let you dismantle the Going Tiger, not after everything we've been through together! I'm not going to give you an inch!"

Snotlout then began pitching more rocks at incredible speed towards Hiccup, forcing him to dodge them. He had to watch where he stepped, or else he would step on the caltrops, and Snotlout used this to his advantage. He tossed yet more rocks, forcing Hiccup to roll out of the way, thus getting punctured by more caltrops. Hiccup was able to dodge every single one of Snotlout's attacks by jumping around on the rocks.

The two of them were now completely exhausted. Snotlout might not have moved as much, but he had a lot of power into those throws of his. Hiccup could tell by looking into his eyes that he wasn't even done. He was starting to question his decision to remain in his human form.

Hiccup then starts to smell gas all around him; he quickly turned his head and saw a breath dial admitting some sort of flammable gas.

"I toss that breath dial earlier along with my throws," said Snotlout as he began pulling out a box of matches. "You are so focused on my attacking even notice the smell, and now your completely surrounded by gas."

Astrid and the others were completely astonished.

"Gas?" Ragnar stared.

Fishlegs' eyes widened. "Don't tell me he's…"

"Sorry," said Snotlout as he is stroked a bunch of matches and then tossed them with all his might into the gas.

The moment the flames touched the gas, there was a huge explosion; it was so powerful that Astrid and the others could feel the shockwave.

"That one is going to sting," said Toothless.

"I can't believe that Snotlout has actually got the upper hand against Hiccup," said Tuffnut.

"Only because he's refused to transform," said Ruffnut.

"Do you think that Snotlout was counting on that?" Chopper asked.

"I don't really know," said Ragnar.

"Hiccup!" Astrid cried.

"Snotlout!" Fishlegs yelled.

The explosion was powerful enough to cause water to strike the ship, and some of it landed on the figurehead, but if anyone didn't know any better, it looked as if the ship was crying.

"I can't take this any more," said Fishlegs looking at the others.

"We can't interfere, Captain's orders," said Astrid.

"Hiccup! Snotlout!" Chopper yelled.

The shockwave of the explosion had been powerful enough to knock Snotlout off his feet, but he began to rise. He knew an explosion like that wouldn't stop Hiccup for very long.

"I'm no fool," he said as he looked towards the smoke. "I realise it will take more than that to beat you even a known human form."

Sure enough, stepping out of the smoke was Hiccup; he was a little scorch but otherwise fine.

"I know you, Hiccup," Snotlout continued. "You fight every battle with all your strength, but I'm ready for any technique you might throw my way."

Hiccup and Snotlout then charged towards one another, raising their fists, but when Hiccup swung his fist, Snotlout ducked. He then grabbed Hiccup's arm and then tossed him right over his shoulder, slamming him into the ground. Hiccup felt the wind knocked out of him, but he saw Snotlout swinging his fist down towards him when he looked up.

He quickly rolled out of the way, causing Snotlout's fist to hit the ground, and it cracked slightly. However, he kept up with the onslaught of fists forcing Hiccup to be on the defensive and not allowing him to counter-attack.

Hiccup finally managed to find an opening and clenched his fist and swung it towards Snotlout. His fist made contact with Snotlout's face sending him crashing to the ground. Hiccup did give him a chance to catch his brethren immediately charged in swinging his fist with all his might.

"It's time to put an end to this!" Hiccup yelled.

Snotlout then got his feet just as Hiccup swung his fist, but when it made contact, he was completely unfazed. Hiccup looked down and saw that he was holding an impact dial, which he used to absorb the blow from his fist.

"Recognising this?" he said. "I bet that punch would have hurt. Let's find out! Impact!"

He then swung his palm and struck Hiccup with the impact dial right in his face. Hiccup roared out in pain as he was sent flying backwards, and Snotlout was blown away as well.

"He used an impact dial," said Fishlegs.

Snotlout cried out in pain as the impact dial had done damage to his already damaged arm.

"I won't lose to you!" he yelled defiantly and then fell down to his knee.

Hiccup managed to land on his feet, the impact dial had caused some damage, but it wasn't enough to bring him down. Snotluot looked at him and realised that he had lost; he was all out of tricks.

Hiccup then clenched his fist with tears in his eyes; he struck him hard in the chest. The blow was strong enough for Snotlout to cough out some blood, for real this time, and everyone knew that it was over.

"Snotlout!" Chopper cried.

Snotlout then collapsed to the ground.

"At least at over now," said Toothless.

Hiccup then fell to his knees, a fight had warned him out more than he expected, but the result was the same. "You idiot… you knew we would end like this. You knew you could never beat me!"

Hiccup then rose to his feet, turned his back on him and began making his way back to the ship.

"Why did this have to happen?" Fishlegs asked.

"Do whatever you want with the Tiger," said Hiccup knowing full well that Snotlout was still conscious. "I won't let anything hold us back. We're getting a new ship and sailing forward. So long, Snotlout. It was fun while it lasted."

Chopper was in tears and then quickly grabbed his medical back.

"Chopper, leave him alone," said Ragnar grabbing his arm before he could jump off the ship.

"What are you saying?" said Chopper looking at him, shocked. "He was already heard before the fight. If I don't help him, who knows what will happen."

He broke free from Ragnar's grip, but this time he grabbed both his arms and pulled him back. "He isn't part of our crew any more!"

"So what?" Chopper yelled and transformed into his human form. "I'm a doctor. It's my duty to treat him!"

He then tried to back this Ragnar, but he dug and then quickly pinned him to the railings.

"It's bad enough that he lost the duel!" said Ragnar looking into his eyes. "If you pity him in a time like this, you'll end up hurting him more than any of those injuries! I know you have good intentions, but all we can do now was given dignity in defeat. He knew when he challenged Hiccup to a duel, this is how it might end."

Hiccup then approached the ship, and they could tell that this entire ordeal was hard on him than anyone else.

"It shouldn't have come to this," he said.

"This is what it means to be captain," said Toothless looking solemn. "You can't doubt yourself. In times like these, if you lose your confidence, then who can we have faith in?"

Chopper then reverted back to his hybrid form and then jumped off the ship towards Snotlout. However, instead of tending to his injuries, he left some medical supplies for Snotlout.

Astrid took a deep breath. "Let's pack things and go. After everything that's happened tonight, we can't return to the ship."
