CREEPY

Newkirk tried very hard not to cringe. But there was something unnerving and creepy about Carter's laugh.

Of course, Carter's off-putting performance was intentional- the German sentry was less likely to engage a little old woman with an obviously mentally unbalanced son.

But Newkirk couldn't help but wonder if Carter wasn't actually acting. If, beneath that mild-mannered exterior, Carter truly was the kind of disturbed individual that he was currently playing. He just seemed to slip into the role so easily.

After all, the man was a pyromaniac- his go-to solution was to blow people up. That just wasn't normal.
