Question 27: If you were to become a close friend with your partner, please share what would be important for him or her to know…

Kurt often caught himself staring at his left hand were a beautiful engagement ring now laid. He was daydreaming about their wedding at all his free time – and some other times too. Everyone who knew Kurt well knew about the wedding box he kept under his bed with everything he dreamed his wedding would have. The only thing Kurt could never had planned was a groom more perfect than Blaine. He was beyond Kurt's wildest dreams. And yet he was the one who knew nothing about Kurt's box; but he would soon.

Kurt had been planning weddings ever since he was old enough to know what it was. First, it was his Power Rangers', then his father and Carole's and finally Mr. Schuester's almost wedding and the small ceremony that was. Now, he had his own to plan and everything had to be more than perfect. For him and for Blaine. Wait a minute! Blaine! His sweet, compassionate Blaine might not be comfortable in a big white wedding like Miss Pillsbury once hadn't been. How to bring this up?

Once he got home that night, he saw that Blaine wasn't there yet. Kurt thought it was for the best: he would have to say goodbye to his childhood dream of a big wedding party in favor of the man he could never have had dreamed of. Blaine was more important than anything and Kurt knew what had to be done.

He went trough the contents of the box one last time. All the bridal magazines he had collected for years, the samples of fabric, the sketches of his suit he had drawn. None of it mattered anymore; all that mattered was Blaine and making him feel as comfortable as possible at his own wedding.

He was already on the building's corridor to throw out the box and the rest of the trash, when Blaine arrived.

"Oh, hi love. What are you doing outside?"

Kurt accepted the peck Blaine gave on his lips and tried to conceal the box with the big bow on top behind him. But Blaine saw it and got curious:

"What is that you're throwing out? Isn't that the box that lives under your bed?"

"You went through my stuff, Blaine Devon?"
Blaine smiled at easy despite Kurt's frown. He answered rubbing Kurt's arm:

"No, of course not. But I clean the apartment. I've seen the exterior of this box many times. I thought it was something important for you…"

Kurt pursed his lips trying to fight his tears:

"It was, it's not important anymore."

Blaine's eyes pierced him:

"You're hiding me something."

"No, I'm not." Answered Kurt, throwing the rest of the trash away. He looked at the box one more time and sighed. When he was about to throw that too, Blaine's hand on his wrist stopped him.

"I'm not letting you throw away something that's clearly still important to you."

Kurt could feel the tears forming in his eyes. Those traitors! Maybe Blaine wouldn't notice, but Blaine's thumb was soon clearing them.

"Kurt…"

"There are things that are more important."

"Things can coexist, gorgeous. Let's go inside and talk about what's been bothering you."

Kurt was ready to follow him and Blaine added:

"Bring the box."

Kurt sighed once more, but carried the box with him inside. Blaine left his bag and other things in a chair and sat on the couch. He patted the sit next to him for Kurt to follow. Kurt sat down with the box on his lap and kept staring at it.

"Gorgeous, look at me. What's wrong?"

Kurt finally looked into his fiancé's eyes. Blaine had an eager look encouraging him to go on. Kurt rolled his eyes and opened the box. Blaine looked at him first:

"May I?"

"You might as well."

Blaine seamed in wonder:

"Kurt, this is… it's awesome! Half the work of planning our wedding is done. And you have such a good taste. Everything has two or three options, so I can feel like I'm participating too. For how long have you had this box?"

"Since I was a kid."

"Aw! You are one of those who always dreamed of a white wedding? How cute."

Blaine approached him to a kiss, but Kurt wasn't really in the kiss. Blaine leaned back with worry written all over his face:

"What's wrong, gorgeous?"

"None of this is important anymore. I wan you to know that I'm okay with it. That's why I didn't want to show you the box."

"You are making less and less sense, Kurt. You don't want to get married anymore?"

"NO! Of course I want to marry you! But I know you don't want a wedding and that's fine. As long as there's you and me, I'll be fine."

"Why wouldn't I want a wedding?"

Kurt took both of Blaine's hands in his and look into his eyes:

"It's okay, honey. You are more important than anything."

Blaine shook his head chuckling:

"My darling, I proposed to you because I love you."

"I never doubted it, Blee. But I helped plan the wedding of my Glee club instructor and my guidance counselor, Miss Pillsbury. She had OCD and was prone to anxiety attacks. They loved each other very much and wanted to be together. But on the wedding day, she couldn't do it. She couldn't walk down the aisle and she simply didn't show up at the church or at the party. I know it must be hard for you to do the same and that you are putting a brave face for me. I want you to feel comfortable. We can have a small gathering and I'll be fine; I'll have you."

Blaine kissed his cheek smiling:

"Kurt, you'll be fine; but I want you exultant."

"No, Blaine, we aren't having a big wedding if you are not comfortable with it."

"But have you even considered that people are different? Miss Pillsbury is a guidance counselor; I'm studying to be an artist. I like to be on the spotlight. I may have had an off period, but I love it. Besides, walking down an aisle to wait for your smiling face to follow would be absolute bliss."

Kurt wasn't entirely convinced, but the things Blaine was saying were like music to his ears:

"Do you swear it?"

"I do. See, I'm already practicing."

Kurt grinned and welcomed Blaine's lips approaching his.

"Blee, maybe you should be the one waiting for me to walk down the aisle, so you wouldn't feel so nervous."

"I'm not the least nervous, gorgeous. But it's a gay wedding, we can break all paradigms. Do you want to walk down the aisle together? Have Rachel officiate the wedding while Mercedes sings for us to enter?"

Kurt bit his lower lip thoughtfully:

"I want to make all those decisions with you. If you like the box, we can take some ideas from there. But I want something that screams Kurt and Blaine. Our wedding, like we'll plan together."

Blaine got up and extended a hand for Kurt:

"Come here."

"Where are we going?"

Blaine smirked:

"I want to show you some ideas I have for the honey moon."
