Cut to The Batcave

Bruce Wayne and Victor Stone are at the Batcomputer running several calculations and closely examining the Motherbox. Bruce is running diagnostics and Victor is going through holograms with various readings.

VICTOR

"You sure this will work?"

BRUCE

"The facts support the theory. And what's the worst that can happen? We kill him again?"

VICTOR

(Shrugs)

"Good point. So if we're gonna do this, we'll need to-"

Just then, an alarm goes off. They see on the Batcomputer that a radar has popped up, showing the reason for the alert. An unidentified flying object is approaching Earth'a atmosphere, fast. Bruce presses a button marked JL as he makes his way to his Batsuit.

BRUCE

"Something powerful just entered the atmosphere."

VICTOR

"I've already calculated the projected landing sight, 20 miles South of Blüdhaven. I'll meet everyone there."

He takes off flying as Bruce's regular Batsuit emerges from its containment.

Cut to An Empty Field - Night

Batman lands the Batwing near the anticipated crash site. Cyborg is already there, and as Batman walks over, a flying Wonder Woman carrying Aquaman lands. Cyborg scans the skies.

CYBORG

"Whatever it is, should be visible soon."

WONDER WOMAN

"Any idea what we're looking for?"

BATMAN

(Shakes his head)

"All we know is something with a huge energy signature is barreling towards Earth."

Flash skids to a halt next to the others.

FLASH

"Towards Earth? You mean like, an alien?"

BATMAN

"It's possible."

FLASH

"Oh wow, this is happening. I've always wanted to meet an alien! Unless it's a bad alien... Y'know what? Maybe I'll just hang back."

Then, the League sees something pierce the clouds. It looks like some sort of meteor, except it's glowing a slight green. It hits the ground with a huge bang and they rush over to it. Everyone looks into the crater and sees... a GREEN LANTERN. He's laying on the ground practically dead as the League cautiously approaches.

Wonder Woman enters the crater and checks for vitals. Suddenly, the Green Lantern regains consciousness, breathing fast and heavily. He tries to get up but is so injured he can't move. The compassionate Wonder Woman can see the pain in the stranger's eyes and places her hand on his own.

WONDER WOMAN

"It's alright... breathe slowly."

The Green Lantern gets his bearings and slows his breathing. Finally, he speaks.

GREEN LANTERN

(Very weakly)

"He's... coming..."

WONDER WOMAN

"Who's coming?"

GREEN LANTERN

(Coughs)

"... Mongul."

The Lantern coughs some more and dies. The ring removes itself from the Lantern's finger and flies off into the sky, in search of a new lantern.

WONDER WOMAN

"Arthur, help me with him!"

The Atlantean jumps into the crater and starts to help Wonder Woman carefully lift the stranger out. However, Batman gets contacted by Alfred over his comms.

ALFRED (VOICE)

Sir, there's been a max priority alert."

BATMAN

"Where?"

ALFRED

"The Kent Farm. The sensors you left are going off. You're not going to like this..."

Cut to Kansas - Kent Farm - Night

We get a look at the grave of Clark Kent. The ground has been disturbed and his coffin uncovered. It lays out open in the open, empty.
