Here's the second part of the training days. I started using a spinner to see which POVs I would write some, so it's completely random. I hope you enjoy!

Training Part 2

Lyla Perry, 18, D1 Female

Glint and I were getting along surprisingly well. It turned out that he wasn't as bad as I thought he was. I was glad I was getting to know him better. If it wasn't for his constant reassuring smiles, I didn't think I could get through the Games. With all of the constant worrying about my family, it was hard to focus on anything else, but having Glint to share that burden with help immensely.

And I had made up my mind. I was going to tell all of Panem what my father did to my siblings and me. Flash and Ruby agreed. They said that it would help us get sponsors, especially since we weren't going to be part of the Career pack. Neither of them liked that but we had told them it was nonnegotiable. We had made up our minds.

Glint tapped me, breaking me out of my thoughts. "You okay? You were just standing there with the daggers in your hand. I couldn't tell if you were going to kill someone or cry."

"Yeah, I'm fine," I said shakily. "We just have to get through the next few days."

"Then you can expose your father for the horrible human being he is," Glint said, smiling. "Anyway, I found us two allies."

"You did?" I asked, surprised. I didn't think GLint had it in him to make friends.

"Yep!" he said, excited. He waved at the pair from 7. The boy was shorter, but you could tell that he was in shape. The girl was obviously young, but she also had a slight build.

"Good job," I said, giving him a smile.

"Lyla, this is Salix and Grove. They're from 7."

"It's nice to meet you," I said warmly. Grove looked scared of both of us. I could tell that she thought this was a joke.

"You really want to ally with us?" she asked hesitantly. "I mean you're from one of the richest districts. And we're from a district that produces lumber."

"We wouldn't be able to do much without lumber," Glint said quietly.

"That's true," I said. "And no, we're not kidding. Glint said you two were good, and I trust him."

"He did?" Grove asked.

"Yep!" I said. Glint shot me a glance, confused as to why I was lying. I shook my head, trying to convey to him that I was just trying to get them to trust us, as much as you can trust anyone in the Games. "So, what are your strengths?"

"Well, we've spent a lot of times in the woods, so we know a bunch of edible plants," Salix started. He pointed at the daggers in my hands. "And I tried those out yesterday. I wasn't too bad at them."

I nodded, then looked to Grove. "I learned how to make a fire yesterday. And I tried out the spears. Wasn't too bad at that."

I looked at her, surprised. I hadn't expected her to know anything useful, but even I didn't know how to make a fire. "Do you want to go over to the spears? I can give you some pointers. If that's okay."

"Okay," Grove said, giving me a small smile.

"And I can give you some pointers with daggers," Glint said to Salix. Salix said something back which caused Glint to laugh, but I didn't hear it.

"What's District 1 like?" Grove asked suddenly. Then she looked away, nervous I might not answer.

"Well, it's pretty nice, I guess," I said. "I've always had everything I needed. I'm not trying to rub it in your face. I don't think it's fair either. What's District 7 like?"

Grove stopped walking and stared, completely stunned that I might actually be interested in what she has to say. I laughed.

"What, did you think you were going to get to ask all the questions?"

"Well no, but I guess I didn't expect you to care," she said.

"Of course I do," I said. And it wasn't a lie. I did care about what the other Districts were like. I smiled at her and began walking towards the spear station again. She ran to catch up to me.

"Well, there's a lot of trees obviously," she said, smiling. She kept going, gaining confidence with every word. "I always climbed the trees. I got pretty good at it too. It wasn't exactly nice - we did go to bed hungry sometimes - but it was home. And I wouldn't trade it for anything."

We had reached the spear station at that point. The instructor made towards Grove, obviously going to help her, but I waved him aside. He looked at me skeptically, not believing that I would actually help a competitor. "Hand me one."

Grove gave one to me. I demonstrated how to hold it, and a few basic blocks.

"I don't know much about these," I confessed. She looked back, surprised.

"You don't?"

"No. I mainly trained with ranged weapons and daggers," I said, laughing. I handed her the spear. "Here. You try."

I stole a glance to where Glint was standing with Salix. They had stopped training, and were just talking. They both were smiling. I was glad Glint had made a friend, even if they would become competitors in a few days.

Maria Angelias, 17, D4 Female

The first day of training, I felt like everyone was going to be laughing at me. I volunteered for myself, something nobody ever does. Maybe they didn't know. But I wasn't going to waste my time worrying about it. The second Kaiden and I were in the room, we went to the trident station for maybe an hour. Vita agreed that we should focus on our strengths then meet up and intimidate the younger kids. Vita was our only true ally; Kaiden or I would kill Julian as soon as we got the chance. The pair from one seemed to be making an alliance with the lower districts, leaving Vita as our only ally.

"Do you think we should try to get some more allies?" Kaiden whispered as we walked over to the sword station, where Vita and Julian were at. They were sparring, and Julian was doing horrible. He really wasn't great at anything he did, just mediocre.

"Don't be ridiculous!" I whispered back. "We have to stick with the other Careers, and that's final."

"Whatever," he muttered, turning to look towards where Glint was laughing with the boy from 7. I couldn't help but wonder what they found so funny. But that wasn't worth thinking about.

"Good morning," Vita said politely once she had put down her sword. She had turned her back to Julian, who was glaring at her back. I could tell how humiliated he was that he got beat by her.

"Morning," Kaiden said back, smiling. I wanted to kick him. She was to be our ally, not friend. There was no need to smile at her.

"What's that bastard from 1 doing with the boy from 7?" Julian spat. "There's no way he actually finds anything someone from one says funny."

"It doesn't fucking matter!" Vita hissed. "Drop the subject. Now!"

I could see why Vita wanted Julian out as soon as possible. I had only known him a day, but I was already looking forward to sticking something in his back. And then maybe stab him a few more times, for good measure.

"So what are we going to do for the rest of the day?" Kaiden asked.

"You wanna spar?" Vita asked. "Julian's not much of a challenge."

Julian just glared, clearly not trying to have Vita's wrath turned on him again.

"Sure," Kaiden answered. He grabbed a sword and waited for Vita.

I turned around and surveyed the room. The girl from 1 was helping the girl from 7 on bow and arrow, while their partners worked together at one of the survival stations. The two boys were laughing constantly, and every few moments the boy from 1's eyes would travel down the boy from 7's body. I decided I would go and introduce myself. Maybe convince them to drop the deadweights.

I decided to talk to the girl first. She seemed like she would be easier to convince.

"Hello," I said as I reached the two girls.

"What do you want?" the girl from 7 asked suspiciously. I ignored her and spoke directly to the girl from 1. "Can I speak to you? Privately, of course."

"If you have something to say to me you can say it to Grove as well," she said. "I'm Lyla, by the way."

"Maria," I answered. "Anyway, I was hoping to convince you to come join the Careers."

"No," she answered without hesitation. Grove practically glowed with excitement. I glared.

"Is it because of Julian?" I asked. "Because I can get rid of him. None of us like him either."

"Who's Julian?" she asked, confused.

"The boy from 2," I said. "You know, that guy that's made his only personality trait his desire to kill blondie over there."

I motioned towards her partner.

"He wants to kill Glint?" Lyla asked, surprised. "Shit. I should go talk to him. Thanks for the info."

She grabbed Grove's arm and jogged over to the survival station Glint was at. I saw Lyla motion at Julian, then Glint stand up, his face red with anger. I quickly rushed over to them.

"I'm just going to go talk to him," Glint was saying.

"No you're not!" the boy from 7 said, grabbing Glint's arm. Glint shrugged him off.

"Yes, I am," Glint said. "It's not like I'm going to beat him up or anything."

Just then, Peacekeepers marched into the room, went to the girl from 12, and dragged her out, with her kicking and screaming all the way.

"What was that about?" I wondered aloud.

"What are you doing here?" Glint snarled. "You need to get back to your little alliance before you tell us anything else."

I glared then walked back over to where the rest of the Careers were standing. Vita and Kaiden weren't sparring anymore, though they were both panting. I assumed there wasn't a winner. That was a good thing for when we split off from them. I was pretty sure Kaiden and I would stick together for a little while, even after we parted ways from the Careers.

"Did you hear what she was screaming?" I asked once I was within earshot.

Kaiden answered without turning from the door. "'I'm not pregnant!'"

Thank you for reading this far! The next chapter will be the second half of the second day of training, and there might be two for the third day. If you've read this far, please leave a review. I love hearing what you have to say about my story. Let me know what you think I should call Glint's alliance.

Sponsor System: My sponsor system is pretty easy. All you have to do is answer a few questions, and for each one you get correct, you get ten points. I keep a tally of everyone's points on my profile page, and once the Games start, you can PM me with and item and who you want it to go to, and that tribute will get it in the next chapter!
