After yesterday, all the big 3 kids and Annabeth stayed in Cabin 3. We wanted to be as close to Percy as we could because he would be going through a hard time.
When I woke up in the morning I felt that the mist was disappearing. I don't know how I felt it or what I was feeling, I just knew. maybe it was instinct. With that, that would mean everyone in camp would see Percy's many scares.
When he let the mist fall yesterday, I saw Percy but different. Gone was the person I saw in him and out was this scared being that should not exist. I'm not saying he looked that bad, it was just different, scary almost. He had permanently black eyes from those punches mixed with that curse, along with tons of other bruises on his arms and legs. Some of the scars were always there, like the scorpion bite in his hand and some from battle. Again, I don't know why he didn't hide everything, maybe he couldn't. Then when the mist was gone you could see tons more scars across his body ontop of ugly bruises. At that moment I wanted to kill the 2 people in charge of this, Nero, Smelly Gabe and those bullies.
Everyone started to wake up at around 7:45 AM. Silently I send everyone who was awake a just act normal look. I knew Percy hates sympathy and pity. At 8 there was a knock on the door. Jason who was closest opened it.
"Hey guys." Rachel said
"What's up come in." Annabeth answered
Rachel came and went over to Percy who was still half sleeping. "Wake up Fish Head." and slapped him upside the head. You would think that's a little harsh but acting like nothing happened would be best. "I have a present. Leo, Apollo and I made it with a little help from Will."
Since Percy was still basically asleep, he didn't know what the present was yet.
"Sick, thanks Rach." Percy tiredly exclaimed as the compactable crutches sprung open.
"Mostly thank Leo and Apollo. I just painted it to make it a little more interesting. Even that was Leo's idea."
"Still thanks."
The crutches had a base color of blue. On the bottom it was celestial bronze so it could be used as a weapon. As for the patterns, Rachel somehow included all of us. There were waves, lightning bolts, wind, shadows, jewels, fire, swords, arrows, an animal that was like a ton of animals at once, ect. It really was a work of art.
Just then Leo came in. "Looks like I'm right on time."
"Valdez, these are amazing, I don't know how to thank you." Percy said
"How about you try them see if there's anything to fix and I'll also tell you the enchantments on it. As you probably already saw they can compact to become pocket sized. Also much like Riptide you can't lose them. There's also a force field kind of thing that Apollo did to help hold your weight evenly until the mist comes back."
When Leo finished Percy stood up and tried out the crutches. Let's just say we had to catch him - alot.
After a while he was able to keep some balance but it wasn't until Will came to help that he made much progress. I guess being the doctor son of Apollo made Will good in all fields of medicine, who knew he was such a good physical therapist.
After about an hour Percy was shaky, but good enough for someone with not properly healed bones. Percy made jokes about how it was good that we don't need to write anything because his already bad hand writing would just be worse. We laughed, but inside we knew how much Percy was hurting.
We went to breakfast at 9. There should have been tons of strange looks towards Percy, but there were none. One look towards Piper told me charmspeak was involved. It wouldn't work indefinitely but it could last a little bit. From breakfast until lunch it was mostly helping Percy gain some strength back. It was going ok. I had a spar with him, it was interesting but Percy held his own. He couldn't win of course, but that's to be expected. Right before lunch the demig-ds who were going on the quest to Salem left.
When the conch horn blew we all left for some food.

We left right before lunch. This wouldn't be the longest quest trip ever. Argus would drive us to Broadway. According to the books I read, there is this giant building that to the No-Maj or mortals just looks like an office building but with the right code opens up to be a wizarding hot spot. (Nope definitely not based of of the new HP store in NY.) After out group got all the items on our list we were to head to Penn Station and get a train to Boston. Then we just had to find a way to Mount Greylock. That's where we believe mom is. Either there or Salem.
well another chapter done. hope you like this story. byeeee
