Chapter 27
After Drandon and Lucine join the group, they go to the Poni Islands so that they can get the Dragon-Type Z Crystal in the Ancient Poni Cavern, once they are done, Ash goes to participate in this year's Pokemon League. He defeats the Elite 4 with ease until he meets Lillie as the Champion, which is surprising for him as he never thought that Lillie would be able to defeat Gladion and her team of Ice and Fairy Types actually gives him a hard challenge.
"So you are Red, I have heard a lot about you." Lillie says with her strong determination. "I hope to have a nice battle with you."
"The feeling is mutual." Ash says, but deep down inside, he is a little sad as Lillie is in a similar situation with Serena, as he had feelings for her until Team Rocket happened.
At the same time, Alice, Drandon and Lucine are the ones who are watching the battle, and then on the other side, there is the Alola Gang that Ash has traveled with before the whole Team Rocket control cloud happened. Alice is also showing worry for Ash, as Lillie was one of his best friends and he might be hurting to face her in the battle.
"So they were the ones who betrayed Ash?" Drandon asks.
"Yeah. Especially Ash had feelings for the Champion until the whole Control Cloud thing happened." Alice sighs. "I hate to say it, but as long as we act like it, they won't find out."
And much to the Alola Gang's surprise, he sends out Necrozma when fighting against her final Pokemon, which is Snowy the Ninetales. Mallow says, "No way...how did he have that Pokemon?"
"Not to mention, he uses Rayquaza to defeat Diantha, and a Diancie to defeat Alder, just how did he get a lot of Legendaries?" Sophocles says.
Lillie is staring at Red, she doesn't know why, she feels that she has met him somewhere. But still, she doesn't want to give up even though she is going to lose in this battle because she knows how powerful Necrozma is. But as much as she works really hard, she still loses her Snowy because of Photon Geyser.
Lilie says, "I knew that when I saw Necrozma I would have lost, but I must say that you are full of surprises."
"Thanks, it is my style." Ash says with a frown. After going to the Hall of Frame, Ash meets up with the three, but before they can leave, the Alola Group stops them as they have questions to ask them.
"What do you want to ask?" Ash asks.
"Can you tell us how did you capture those Legendary Pokemon? I know that not many people have them." Lana says.
Ash says, "That is easy, I traveled around the world, finding their habitats and helped them from getting hurt by evil people, and then they joined me for their own gratitude."
"If you have traveled around the world, can I ask another question?" Lillie asks. "Have you seen Ash Ketchum anywhere?"
This makes him tense up and Alice, Drandon and Lucine are worried about him. Ash says, "Yes, I have met him."
This causes them to be surprised and Mallow asks, "Where is he?"
"Before I answer that, I want to know, why are you finding him?" Ash asks with a curious tone, and they all frown. Lillie says, "He was my inspiration. Because of him, I was able to defeat my Brother and become the Champion of the Alola Region. I heard from the Kanto Champion that we had done something to him to make him avoiding us, we want to say sorry for him."
"I see. As much as I want to help you, but the last time I met him, he was battered and broken. People are saying bad stuff to him and also beating him like he is just a ragged doll."
This causes them to gasp, Ash continues, "But what makes him much more broken is that he doesn't have any Pokemon to shield himself, all his friends, his family, and his Pokemon have abandoned him as well. And that is when I saw it..."
"Saw what..." Lillie asks, afraid of what he is going to say.
"Saw him commit suicide." Ash says. "At Vermillion City, he jumped into the ocean and it was the last time I see him. I don't think he had survived that because of how many scars on his body."
This causes them to sad, especially for Lillie, Ash can't help but feel pity for them, but he can't. They hurt him, so they should realize how much pain did they inflict on them. "And I am sorry that I can't stop him. Everyone is cheering for his death, and I was conflicted to help him or not because I don't want him to feel guilty for helping him."
Lillie can feel her tears coming out from her eyes, but she still stays strong and she says, "It is fine...thank you for telling us..."
Ash nods as they go back to their AK151 as they are going back to the Sevestar Island. When they changed into Auto Pilot, Alice decides to talk with Ash and she asks, "I want to know, why are you lying to them? You could tell them that you are still alive, I somehow feel sad for them as well..."
"That is because I did die." Ash says, "My heart for Lillie has died and replaced for yours. And my friendship with them also died, it wasn't their fault but Team Rocket's."
Alice says, "So are you going to reveal yourself to them?"
"Maybe not now." Ash says, "By the way, Alice. Where are we now?"
"We are on top of the Hoenn Seas. There is still a distance before we reach the Sevestar Island." Alice says.
"Hoenn...Maybe I should go for this place before Sinnoh..." Ash says, and Alice asks, "Why are you avoiding Sinnoh? I mean...you already have 8 badges from there, but why aren't you going there?"
"I know what you mean, the Champion Cynthia is not an easy one, besides my mother, she is one of the strongest females in the league." Ash says, "Not to mention that I lost the League is because I lost to two Legendary Pokemon...it gives a scar in my heart and I want to wait until I finish Hoenn and Johto to go there."
"I see...I think I understand your pain." Alice sighs.
But just then, they notice a brown spot on the ocean and Alice says, "Ash? I think there is something over there."
"Really? Maybe it is just some bad people polluting the ocean by throwing the trash." Ash says, "But if you want, I'll check out what it is."
As they use their telescope, they notice that the brown spot is actually a coffin. "A Coffin? And it is shaking..."
"Does that mean somebody was trapped inside the coffin? We have to save whoever is in it." Ash says as they use the plane to grab it into the air. Drandon and Lucine are also rushing towards them and Drandon asks, "What's going on?"
"We found a coffin, and it probably contains a person who is still alive." Ash says, "We are going to bring it back to Sevestar so we can know what is going on."
Drandon and Lucine nod as they quickly go back to Sevestar Island. After the landing, they put the coffin on the beach as Ash also gathers everyone to see what is going on. Some people are terrified at whoever is in the coffin, Eve, being one of the bravest people, asks, "Should we open it?"
"We have to open it, I can feel whoever is in the coffin was still alive." Ash says as he opens the coffin, inside the coffin is a boy who is one year younger than Ash. Alice and Tox, being the doctors who specialize in humans, rush towards the boy and they try to check his heart pulse and breathing. Tox says, "His breathing is a little weak. If we are able to save him in time, then he might be still alive."
"Quick, we have to bring him into the medical bed." Alice says as they rush into Ash's room so that they can put the boy on it.
Ash and Alice change into Eason and Gus, along with Tox, they use any means to make the boy's heart stable. Valerie and Delia also hear the news as they also come to the medical room along with Dr. Colress.
"Please be alive." Ash says as he continues to do CPR on the boy, eventually, he starts to cough out ocean water and he slowly opens his eyes, much to everyone's relief.
"Calm down, you are still weak, just let us make sure you aren't in danger." Alice says as they continue to heal the boy, once it is over, Ash asks, "Are you feeling better?"
The boy nods as he looks around, he finds himself in some sort of hospital-like room. He asks, "How am I still alive?"
Ash smiles at him and he says, "You are really lucky that our plane was just flying across the Hoenn Ocean. We noticed the coffin floating on the water and we pick it up before it sinks into the ocean."
The boy can't believe that there are people who spot him inside the coffin and they are willing to save him. A lot of people in the room are looking at him with curiosity at his expression. "I am sorry, I didn't think that somebody will save a weakling like me..."
"Weakling? What are you talking about?" Delia asks. "There is no such thing as a weakling, don't you say yourself like that."
The boy then introduces himself as his name is Mark. He was from a family who owns a resort in Dewford Town. He has been working as a worker instead of their own son, and after making many mistakes, he was being put into the coffin and he was thrown into the sea by his evil parents. He hoped that he would have a quick death, but floating on the ocean is torture to him.
"How could somebody do that to you?" Elline gasps. "I can't believe there are evil parents like them..."
"This is really terrible. You don't deserve this..." Luke sighs while shaking his head.
Ash and Delia look at each other, and then they nod. Ash says, "Mark, since your family think that they executed you, how about you become a member of our family instead? We will show you the family love that you deserve to have."
Mark is surprised. He doesn't know the family in front of him, but the family wants to adopt him. "But..."
"Don't worry, Mom and I are Aura Users, we can see through your pain inside your heart." Ash says.
"Aura users? You mean the kind of people who can use Pokemon moves freely..." Mark gasps.
"Yes, and we will also let you become one, but it has a risk, if you failed, then you will die. So it has to be your choice." Ash says.
"I'll do it." Mark says, much to everyone's surprise. "I don't care how hard it is, I want to become an Aura Guardian so that I can show that I am not a weakling."
Ash smiles as he says, "Mark, I like your determination. So let's go outside so we can start it." Then they all go outside of Ash's room.
