Chapter 27
Before getting out of the forest, Ash and Lillie decide to capture some Pokemon in the Lush Jungle, and the adults agree to wait for them as they are waiting in the Pokemon Center.
The first Pokemon they find is a Bounsweet, Ash asks Rotom about this Pokemon. "Bounsweet, the Fruit Pokémon. A Grass type. It's always emitting a delicious scent from its body. Lured by its scent, many flying Pokémon mistake it for a berry."
Dartrix has been liking the smell of the Pokemon, as it keeps charging at it, but it causes Bounsweet to get annoyed, in the end, it evolves as it uses the Rapid Spin to knock it down.
"Steenee, the Fruit Pokémon. A Grass type. Steenee's hard sepals are highly developed for protection, making its Double Slap move very powerful."
"I can tell." Ash sighs as he has Dartrix uses the Air Slash to make them easy to capture the Pokemon. Lillie notices a Pokemon and she says, "Ash! Look! It's a Comfey!"
Ash turns around and he notices the Fairy Type Pokemon, Rotom says, "Comfey, the Posy Picker Pokémon. A Fairy type. It releases a relaxing scent from the flowers it picks. The scent has a healing effect and can cure status conditions."
The Comfey puts the wealth on Ash and he says, "Wow...it is really relaxing..."
"I know." Lillie says, "I really want to have it as my Pokemon."
After a while, they manage to capture the Comfey with the help of Pikachu, but they also attracted a Pinsir as they fight against it and capture it in the end. They also meet a Castform as they also capture the Pokemon.
Before they decide to leave the Lush Jungle, they also notice two monkey-like Pokemon. Rotom says, "Oranguru, the Sage Pokémon. A Normal and Psychic type. Known for high intelligence, Oranguru have a tendency to be callous toward an inexperienced Trainer. Passimian, the Teamwork Pokémon. A Fighting type. It works on its teammates and attacks by throwing fruits. They undergo intense training together, and their mutual bond is remarkable."
Ash and Lillie are also fond of those two Pokemon and they try to capture them, but it turns out that they are not easy to capture due to their high intelligence and hard battling style. In the end, it takes a lot of time for them to capture.
After getting outside, Lusamine asks, "What is taking you guys too much time?"
"We are trying to capture an Oranguru and Passimian, they are hard to capture." Ash says, and Aurora says, "I am glad you are able to find them."
As they head back, they hear a cry of a Pokemon as they follow the sound, they see a Pokemon stuck inside the cliff. "What the..." Lillie asks, and Rotom says, "Wimpod, the Turn Tail Pokémon. A Bug and Water type. From beaches to seabeds, Wimpod live in all kinds of places. They eat anything, even if it's rotten. Nature's vacuum cleaners!"
"It seems like it is stuck, we need to save him." Ash says. After a short amount of time, they manage to save the Pokemon as it was at first scared and hide behind a rock, after Ash and Lillie's sweet talk to this Pokemon, it comes out and becomes Ash's Pokemon.
After that, they head to the Dimensional Research Lab, Nebby pops out of the bag again, and Lillie asks, "Nebby? What are you doing?"
The Pokemon just bounces around and Ash says, "Maybe it is just trying to use Pokemon Moves? Have you ever tried it out with Nebby?"
"No, only Teleport..." Lillie frowns as she turns to Nebby. "You...you always seemed to end up getting hurt, Nebby. So I never really liked Pokémon Trainers or thought that I would want to be one myself. But when I see Ash and some of my old self... It's like they've thrown open some door that I always thought was closed... They stride straight through it into the future... It seems...so amazing somehow..."
"That might be true." Aurora says to Lillie, who nods and Kukui says, "The professor is waiting to meet you, so why don't we go in?"
Ash and Lillie nod, and Lusamine asks Lillie, "So how were your trials? It must be quite trying to do three in a row."
"It was no problem, Mother." Lillie says, "It wasn't any trouble for us to tackle all three of Akala Island's trials."
"Indeed. Though I was thinking when Lillie will remember more memories since we just got another Z Crystal..." Ash says.
"I think Patience is the virtue for that, Ash." Aurora says as they head inside the lab.
Once they reach the top, Kukui waves to a woman and he says, "Hey there, honey!"
"Oh, hi!" The woman comes and greets them.
"This here's Professor Burnet. She runs the Dimensional Research Lab, yeah... And she's also my wife!" Kukui says.
"Wait, you are married? Professor?" Ash asks in surprise.
"You're Ash, right? Kukui told me about you. She said you were the reliable sort." Burnet says. "Three months ago... I found Lillie lying on a beach. Cosmog in her bag also unconscious."
"It is nice for you found my daughter...who knows what will happen to her if you weren't there." Lusamine says as Lillie can only blush in embarrassment.
"Hm? No Hau today?" Burnet asks Kukui, who says, "Hau? He's out doing his own thing. But he'll be the real deal someday... He could even become a kahuna, just like old Hala before him!"
"You really think so!" They turn around and see Hau rushing towards them. Ash says, "Hau?"
"Whoa-ho! Well, yeah, I really do." Kukui says with a smile.
"Good to see you again, Hau! It's been a while since I last saw you." Burnet says.
"Anyhow, I brought Ash and Lillie here because I wanted you to tell them about some of the mysterious phenomena here in Alola." Kukui says.
"I'd be happy to! The mysteries of Alola, huh? Then you've got to mean...the Ultra Wormhole." Burnet says as she looks at Lusamine, who nods and says, "It's extremely rare, but sometimes a hole opens in the sky over Alola. It appears that this rift leads to a different and unknown dimension."
"Mom, you know about this?" Lillie asks, and Burnet says, "Aurora, Lusamine and I have been researching about this for a long time. The reason that people think there may be a mysterious dimension is because of the legends of fearsome Pokémon appearing from the Ultra Wormhole."
Nebby is jumping around as it seems to agree with Professor Burnet's words. "It's very weak as proof, but I can't ignore it. There is also plenty of evidence already in the Pokédex for the existence of different dimensions, right?"
"Fearsome Pokemon?" Lillie asks in confusion.
"Even normal wild Pokémon sometimes attack people, right? But the Pokémon that appeared from the Ultra Wormhole went way beyond that." Burnet says.
"They were called Ultra Beasts... And they were feared. If the stories are to be believed, the guardian deities of the islands fought desperately against them." Lusamine says. "It's all legends and folktales. It's hard to know how much is true, that's why I decide to research about this."
"And we would be very happy if we could somehow unravel the mysteries of the Ultra Wormhole by studying the dimensional disturbances!" Aurora says.
"We've recorded several known relationships between Pokémon and different dimensions in books. You can find them on the bookshelf in this lab." Burnet says.
"No thanks, I think we already know enough about them." Ash says. "Though I wonder what happened three months ago with Lillie..."
"You want to know what happened three months ago? Well, I'd wanted to learn more about Nebby... I mean, about Cosmog. So I decided to come to speak to Professor Burnet. But I got lost along the way...and ended up wandering about until I collapsed on the shore...She listened to my story, staying up all night to hear it all. And then she even got her husband, Professor Kukui, to lend me his loft to stay in... And she told him to help me investigate Nebby's origins, too. Professor Burnet has been so kind, and she's still helping me try to find a way to get Nebby back to its own home..."
"Sounds like she has been more a mother than me, huh?" Lusamine asks, and Lillie says, "I didn't really mean to upset you, mother...it is just..."
"Relax, I was the one that tells her to take good care of you." Lusamine says, "After all, Burnet knows about my split self and she knows where I am. So I told her to take care of you until Aurora brings Ash here."
"I see..." Lillie says.
Kukui says, "How about that, Ash? Lillie? If Ultra Beasts are really out there, I wonder what kinds of moves they can use... You've finished all three of Akala's trials. Woo! And now comes the big match against Olivia—the island kahuna! It's the biggest and badest trial of them all here on Akala—the grand trial!"
Burnet says, "Good luck! Olivia's house is past Diglett's Tunnel. It's in Konikoni City! But watch out for Team Skull!"
Hau says, "I'm off to check out Diglett's Tunnel next! It's a whole cave made by Pokémon, right?"
But just as they head outside, Ash notices a crack appears in the sky, and Lillie notices Ash and says, "Are you okay, Ash?"
"It must be my imagination..." Ash mutters, "I am fine, Lillie."
"Hey, Ash, Lillie! So you've made it through all three captains' trials, yeah? Then you should go meet Kahuna Olivia! She lives in the town past Diglett's Tunnel. Diglett's Tunnel is...let's see... From here, it's kinda near the PMC! It's easy to walk right past it, though, so keep your eyes peeled! Now it's malasada time for me!"
Hau searches the map and he says, after that, he leaves and Lusamine says, "Since it is getting late, I have booked our rooms in the Hano Grand Resort, why don't we stay there for a rest?"
"I think that is a good idea, mother." Lillie says as they head there to rest.
Here is a new chapter, and you can see that I made a lot of changes from the game in this story since Lusamine has an evil self and a good self, and the fact that the good one is acting like the one in the anime, and the evil one is like the game. I hope you like this. The next one will be more Pokemon capturing and Konikoni City.
