Catra was snoring quietly against Adora's chest, Fang sandwiched between them purring contently in his own peaceful sleep. Swiftwind was watching over the sleeping pair with the same worried gaze as Adora held, it felt as if they were mirroring one another. Adora still felt her heart pumping anxiously, it felt surreal to have her childhood friend curled against her once more. 'Are we friends again? Are we more?' Adora had to stifle a frustrated groan, as happy as she was to have Catra safe in her arms once more, there was a long conversation ahead. Adora let her head fall and rest against Catra's mane of hair, as daunting as the thought was it could wait until later. A soft knock came at the door and Adora raised her head as her bedroom door opened, Glimmer quietly slipping in and approaching the bed with a comforting smile.
"Hey, she's back asleep?" Glimmer asked softly, Adora nodded in reply.
"Yeah, being out there took a lot out of her." Adora mumbled back, Glimmer humming as her eyes traveled towards Catra once more.
"You think things will be ok between you two?" Adora hummed unsure of how to answer, instead tightening her grip onto the small girl.
"I don't know." Adora answered honestly. Glimmer's pale eyes lifted to stare at Adora's features worriedly, but the pink haired girl didn't push her foster sister anymore instead resting a comforting hand on her shoulder.
"Mom wants to talk just us, come on." Adora nodded, Glimmer turning to leave to allow Adora a moment to squirm out from under Catra. It took quite a bit of work, Fang was awoken, he whined angrily, but Adora eventually managed to lay down the still sleeping Catra onto the bed. Glimmer was waiting in the hall outside, the pair of foster siblings making quick steps to Angella's home office. Entering Angella was deep in thought, brows creased, chin over her hands, but upon glancing up at the teenagers a smile crept onto her face.
"Girls come sit please." Adora and Glimmer plopped down in the chairs before the older woman's desk, shooting back equally caring smiles. "How's Catra?"
Adora hummed for a moment in thought. "She's okay, just sleeping." Angella nodded in understanding.
"I'm glad, Miranda said she would be by to get her and Fang whenever it was safe. But I was sure to let her know Catra was welcome to stay as long as possible." Angella's words put Adora at ease, there was no doubt that Angella wouldn't let Catra stay where it was safest for her but having confirmation was comforting. "But, the reason I wanted to talk to you both is because this made me realize something." Angella began, voice low and almost hesitant, Adora raised a brow curiously. "I don't want any crazy emergency separating us, when you were out in that blizzard Adora all I could think was how if you were ever taken from us.. It would be devastating." Glimmer nodded in agreement, Adora felt her eyes go wide suddenly feeling very guilty for scaring her foster family.
"I'm sorry Angella." Adora mumbled but was quickly shushed by a comforting hand laying over her own, Angella was smiling down at her.
"No Adora, it's okay." Her foster mother comforted, squeezing the teen's hand gently. "What I mean is.. if something ever happened. I would want to be the one to come and get you." Adora tilted her head confused and Glimmer shot her foster sister a comforting smile. "I want to always be the one to come get you, Adora. I want to legally adopt you." Angella finished with another squeeze to Adora's hand and the blonde felt herself blink a few times trying her best to keep up with what was just said. Glimmer squealed excitedly latching onto Adora's free hand. "Is that.. alright with you?"
"Please say yes! We'll get to be sisters for life!" Glimmer begged, pale eyes shining excitedly. Adora felt like she was watching the scene from above her body, there was no way this was real there was no way Angella wanted her to stay forever there was no way she was being.. adopted?
Pushing past the quickly forming lump in her throat, blinking back tears, Adora squeaked out. "Are you serious?" Angella and Glimmer softened, the pair instantly surging forward to bundle Adora into a group hug.
"Of course! We want you here forever!" Glimmer promised squeezing Adora with all the force she could muster, Adora blinked through the tears that leaked down her face. 'They want me..'
"Yes!" Adora squealed the answer, no longer able to hold back the tears that were now freely flowing. Angella and Glimmer chuckled lovingly, their own tears falling as they wrapped up Adora even tighter.

Catra woke up feeling sore all over, with a groan she pushed herself into a sitting position. Fang tumbled from her chest into her lap and gave an indignant meow. "Sorry bud." Catra chuckled, scratching his ear and stretching herself out with another groan. Looking around with groggy bicolored eyes it took her a moment to realize why her room looked so odd, as it was not her room but the familiar room of Adora. The brunette also became very aware of the large white dog snoozing at her feet. Body suddenly stiff Catra slowly crept from under the covers attempting to stand but hissing in pain as her wounded ankle sent her crashing back to the bed. Fang watched with concern and mewled softly in his friend's direction, she did her best to smile reassuringly. "I'm okay bud." She promised gruffly, pulling her leg up to inspect the hurt ankle. Thankfully it was covered, bandaged lovingly. Checking over her shoulder Catra saw the snow had stopped falling but instead was laying thickly on the ground. "How long was I out?" Catra mumbled to herself, brows creasing. Everything since she had stepped out of her home to look for Fang felt fuzzy- wait.. FANG!
Catra whirled around to face her beloved cat again who mewled at her, lunging forward to bundle the feline up in her arms. "Fang! You're safe! I'm so sorry buddy!" Catra cried, tears welling into his fur, he purred his forgiveness and Catra laughed happily.
"He showed up here this morning." A voice startled Catra out of her embrace with Fang, whirling around to face the doorway to see Adora there leaning against the doorframe. She was smiling softly, hair down, icy blue eyes roaming over Catra with an emotion she couldn't quite read, Catra felt heat rush down her body. A thick silence laid over them for a stretch. "Hey." Adora tried to greet awkwardly, Catra remained quiet. Fang however struggled from her grasp and trotted over to the blonde, rubbing against her legs affectionately. 'Traitor.' Catra thought bitterly for a moment, but melted as Adora reached down to give him an affectionate scratch. The dog seemed to be awoken with the commotion, as he was now thumping his tail happily. "That's Swiftwind, by the way, I got a dog." Adora chuckled her nervous laugh, Catra felt herself smile. 'She's always wanted a dog.'
Swiftwind seemed to become interested in Catra as he nosed his way into her lap, startling the brunette for a moment before she began running her clawed nails through his short fur. His tail thumped harder and Catra smiled down at him.
"How're you feeling? You've been asleep for a while." Catra looked towards Adora again, the blonde was staring at her with soft eyes.
"I'm okay." Catra finally croaked out, Adora's smile instantly lit up the room. Catra resisted the urge to laugh. 'What a dork.'
Another awkward silence fell over the pair. After a moment Catra swung forward her wrapped up ankle, sending Adora a questioning look. "What happened to me?" She asked cautiously, Adora's smile dropped a little.
"I'm not sure honestly, when I found you in the snow you already had it." Adora explained slowly, Catra nodded. Hopefully her memories would come back but for now, it was a mystery. "Do you.. remember anything?" Adora asked cautiously, Catra quirked a brow.
Catra pursed her lip in thought, honestly the snow storm felt like a blur. "Not really, just that Fang was missing, I went out to find him and then I woke up.." Catra trailed off, cheeks turning a soft pink as she remembered what had happened the first time she had awoken. 'Oh, that explains awkward Adora.' Catra felt a small smile curl over her lips, tilting her head as she looked at Adora with all the confidence she could muster. "I woke up, to a blonde trying to shove their tongue down my throat."
Adora's face turned redder than any tomato Catra had ever seen, icey blue eyes bulging and jaw snapping open in a similar way to a fish. "T-That's-! No-! I mean- I just-!" Catra began to cackle at the other teen's panicked stuttering, she could swear even Fang was giggling by Adora's feet. Unable to form a coherent thought Adora crossed her arms over her chest with a huff, lip puffed out in a pout. "You kissed me back.." She mumbled lamely, earning her a few more giggles from the brunette.
"I did." Catra agreed, flopping to her side to lay herself over the canine with a smug grin. Fang trotted back to the bed, swiftly flicking hit tail for Adora to follow which the girl gladly did. At first the blonde attempted to stay untouched from Catra, but the smaller girl seemed to have other plans as she planted her legs over Adora's lap. Fang settled between the two, curling up with a content purr.
Silence followed, both girls unsure of how to react to the newfound closeness even if they both had spent the last weeks desperately wanting it.
"Adora? I'm-" Adora shook her head as Catra attempted to apologize, cutting off the brunette.
"I'm just happy you're here and you're okay." Adora murmured, smiling softly down at her with a softness that Catra could not help but melt into. "We'll figure the rest out, ok?" Catra felt her eyes swell with emotions, before slowly nodding in acceptance.
"Okay." Catra mumbled her agreement, snatching Adora's hand into her own and threading their fingers.
"I love you, Catra." Catra pulled her lips into a smile.
"I love you too Adora."
A/N: Alright friends, this is where we part ways for now! I am debating if I would like to continue with a squeal/epilogue because I'm not terribly happy with the end but for now.. this is the end friends. Thank you all for coming along for the ride and all the support along the way, I can't express how much it's meant to me.
