Men in Black and DC crossover

(A/N: I own nothing read last chapter and read Velgamidragon's We Are the Men in Black.)

Four months after they had recovered Kir from the FBI and the hospital, three months after she regained enough of her muscles and nutrition that she had lost in her coma to return to work, Vodka was staring worriedly at his girlfriend from across the table.

She was mostly picking at her meal, just mostly picking at it and only occasionally eating some and…and he had noticed some things. She had seemed so hurt and upset but as if she were trying to hide it from him, despite the fact that he could see the pain in her eyes sometimes…

She was also working so hard on something that she couldn't tell him about and he understood that for the most part. She was CIA and his bosses granddaughter. She had clearance for things that Vodka didn't even know existed he was sure but…most of the time he had noticed she spent a lot of time in the file rooms now. And she was working so hard on whatever it was that he was scared she'd burn herself out. At first he thought that she had a new assignment from Gin or the CIA but Gin hadn't given her any assignments and the CIA didn't have any clearance or reason to get into the MiB files.

It was…it was almost as if she was trying her best to avoid him. His mind immediately latched onto that and he looked down as he poked at his food as well now. She was so withdrawn…he hadn't seen her like this even on the worst days of her PTSD and survivors guilt.

He…this was his fault. He had failed her on that mission where she was taken and he had failed to find her for three months. He…he had failed her and he wouldn't be surprised if she no longer wanted anything to do with him. Wouldn't be surprised if she…hated him now and was just too polite and nice to come out and tell him.

"Hidemi…do…do you no longer want to be with me?" Vodka finally asked her, wanting her to go ahead and tell him and stop wasting her precious valuable time with him if it were true.

"What?!" Looking up at her he saw the way that her eyes were wide and she looked so confused and hurt and stunned as she stared at him.

"You've been…you've been withdrawn and…work obsessed ever since we got you back from the FBI and Grey Goose…I…I don't know if you're mad at me or disappointed that I failed you so badly but-"

"Koji no!" Hidemi was immediately up and moving towards him with tears in her eyes as she stared at him.

"Honey no. No god no! I'm not mad or disappointed or anything like that! I…I have an important mission from Ano Kata to do that I can't tell anyone about and I don't want to have to lie to you about it." Hidemi said and Vodka relaxed a little when she was perching herself in his lap and had her hands on his cheeks to make him look her in the eyes after she removed his eternally present sunglasses.

"But…you're so…so withdrawn and work obsessed and it's…" Vodka trailed off as she kissed him and she had tears in her eyes and on her face as she stared at him.

"I…I learned something at the hospital and…and it wasn't good. I can't tell you right now because it's…it's too deep and fresh and I don't want to worry you when I'll live and be fine I just need something else to focus on. That's why I've been so withdrawn and work obsessed. I promise what I learned won't kill me and it's in no way your fault or anything you could have prevented. I just…I just need time to think about it and come to terms before I tell you." Hidemi said and she swallowed thickly. She should have known that Vodka would notice how differently she was acting and think the worst. His horrible self-esteem would ensure he had…but she couldn't tell him what had happened. It would break him and he'd blame himself…or worst case scenario he'd hate her and no longer want anything to do with her.

"Are you sure? If…If you don't want me anymore then…" Vodka was cut off by his girlfriend kissing him passionately on the lips, her arms wrapping around his neck and pulling his head further down to kiss him harder.

"I want you. I love you. Koji you are the only man I love and nothing will ever change that. Of that I am one million percent certain." Hidemi whispered breathily as they separated and she rested her forehead against his as she felt his arms circle her waist.

"Whenever you're ready…I'll be more than happy to listen to what happened and help you in any way." Vodka said relaxing a little now as he smiled at her, reassured that she wasn't tired of him or no longer loved him.

"I know my teddy bear. I love you Koji, so very much." Hidemi said softly and he kissed her nose.

"I love you too Hidemi, so much more than I can ever say." Vodka said tucking her head under his chin as he held her and she relaxed into him.

"Let's….Let's go to bed dear." Hidemi said after a few minutes of the two of them being silent and holding each other.

"It's too early for sleeping though." Vodka said confused as he glanced at the clock in their apartment. It was only six o clock…

"Not to sleep. Let's make love Koji, I want to remind you exactly how much I love you." Hidemi whispered with a small blush on her face and he blushed as well.

"You know we don't have to do that for you to prove you love me." Vodka said and she smiled up at him.

"I want to. I don't have to but I want to. Besides…you and Gin are leaving for Germany to help Riesling with something involving her original organization at the end of the month and will be gone for at least a month and a half if not two months." Hidemi said and Vodka admitted she had a point, he was leaving for Germany with Gin at the end of the month. He didn't really have to go along with Gin for this assignment but…

He couldn't find what he wanted in any of the shops he went to around here…so maybe if he went to Germany he'd find what he was looking for.

For now though his beautiful loving girlfriend, who he hoped to marry one day, wanted to be intimate and he was more than happy to oblige her.

Neither one knew of what was going to be happening soon that risked tearing them apart.
