Hello my lovely and loyal readers of mine,
Thank you despite my mini Hiatus you all still read and reviewed this story. I love the fact that all of you continue reading Ray's story. I am so sorry for my Hiatus. I got a bit of writers block right before COVID and I was dealing with drama at work before the world shut down.
Then all of this COVID quarantine stuff happened. I was stuck with my father and sister. I wasn't able to get peace and quiet to work. I couldn't see my best friend for months. That's the longest we have been apart since we turned 18. My muse came back finally once I dyed my hair I started writing... But then I got called back into work. Fell in love but got into a toxic relationship that my platonic soulmate told was wrong for me. He cheated long story short and that destroyed the confidence that I had in love... Ya know adulting at its finest. But my muse and love for love came back. So in order to help make up for life and love getting in the way of this story. I quickly typed this chapter up for all of you. You guys are my inspiration.

Previously on Divine Beauty:
I feel a shiver that pulses throughout my system as I'm getting more popcorn. I get a flash of something purple as I grip my counter top. I shake my head and my magic pulls me through the floor and it pushes me out somewhere else. I look around confused seeing that I'm in a kitchen that is way too small to be my own. What the hell? I think to myself as I look around. I hear someone speaking Latin. I bend down and peek out behind the cabinets and all.
I see someone in a chair and as I focus I realize that it's Alaric that's sitting in the chair and he opens his eyes and gets up. I see Maddox standing up before he bends down at the waist with a small flourish of his arms.
"Alaric?" I hear Katherine asking curiously as she rushes over the door to leave, but she's trapped. Must be a spell. Alaric walks toward her with a much different swagger than the both of us are used to.
Alaric smirks a smirk that I know all too well, "Zdravei, Katerina." He gently takes her face in his hands making her look into his eyes. "Mmm... I have missed you."
Katherine's dead heart skips a beat as her eyes widen, "Klaus." I see her eyes connect with mine before I pull my magic and teleport back home. I look to see everyone confused and scared. My body shakes as I feel my powers buzzing and memories start flashing in my eyes and mind. I slide down to the floor and grip my hair as I rock back and forth. My powers pulsing out of me as the entire property shakes slightly. My eyes stuck on the wood floors as I keep rocking on the floor and I feel my hair lifting with my power.
"What's wrong, Ray?" Anya asks as she kneels down to me trying to calm me down but as she touches me she gets burned slightly.
"Sisters forever." Mel whispers as she kneels down and slowly crawls close to me as my chest feels like it's getting squeezed in a vice grip. My powers still buzzing through my veins as my vine slithers around me like a snake. But the use of our fathers tongue calms me down enough. My tongue flickers out and licks my very dry and cracked lips.
"Sisters forever." That calms me before I take a deep breath in as Mel comes in close and hugs me. I gather my voice once again , "We.. um we've got a huge problem guys. And trust me it's nothing like what's happened earlier this year." I look at the three of them and I see them look at one another confused, scared, and shocked.
Rayen's POV:
After my little incident and Mattie comes back from the bathroom, I have him stay over so he can be in a house that's protected. Also so I can tell him everything without vampires trying to compel him to forget everything. In return, I was finally able to speak the truth. I told him everything that's happened this year. From me getting these powers after getting hurt to recently losing my baby. His face shows his emotions to well. I'll need Anya to teach him how to have a poker face. We can all tell that he is shocked, but he surprisingly understands that I was overruled when talking about who to let into the knowledge circle. He takes everything in stride and confidence. After our little conversation the girls and Mattie head to sleep in their designated rooms while I go around the house feeling my nerves on edge and tingling. I hold my hands up and see that my fingers are twitching really bad. I shake them out before I get an idea too help easy my nerves. I sit down on the floorboards. My hands immediately slip into the wood like it was liquid. I gently push my powers out as I try to add little things around the house in the wood. I only stop and pull my powers back before walking to the picture that I have that is more precious than life for me. My eyes tear up when I see my dad and mom in their wedding attire soaked to the bone and smiling at the camera. The only picture that I have of them together. They never knew what was going to happen to them... to me.
I gently drag my nail on the frame and reinforce it with my powers. I don't want this to break so easily. My smile grows softly while tears fall down my face as I watch my magic weave into the frame. As I do my magic, my body heats up even more, and I know that it won't go away. Instead of going to sleep, I decide to go skinny dipping in my lake and I walk down to my lake. I take off my clothes and fold everything up before I create a little table to make sure the dirt doesn't get on them. I take a deep breath as the breeze caresses my naked body. The once smooth and unblemished skin of my that now has so many scars that bring so many memories. I dive in and the thought wash away as the water cools my nerves off as they start to overheat. I quickly look up at the stars feeling my heart pounding and internally sigh as the bottom of the lake keeps me grounded.
I thought that I pushed these silly school girl feelings away. Apparently I'm wrong in more ways than one. The stupid feelings are back and I swear they're tenfold by how my body is reacting. Grrr… I hate how he manipulated me. I float back to the top and look up at the moon and stars. My mind starts reeling thinking of how he could've pulled me to him. He must've somehow pulled my astral projection to him when I did that spell. I dive down to the bottom of the lake and wrap my hands around in the bottom. I look up and watch as the fish swim around me and in my hair. The moon and the stars are only slightly distorted. I smile as I can feel that I have cooled off and my heart rate is back to normal. I push up and just let myself float up. My body still warm from earlier, but cooled off dramatically. I let out a sigh before I lay back and float letting the moon and stars gaze at me. I get out after my fingers start to prune and I dry off before I start walking back inside the house. I wash off the lake water and get dressed into my pjs letting Riptide in. I lock up my property everything from the doors and windows to the front gate. I turn on my tv and turn on Hercules falling asleep almost instantly.
Meanwhile in Alaric's appartment
The current Klaus hijacking Alaric's bod's body opens his closet and takes out 2 different but similar shirts. Katherine is tied to a chair because this being part of her punishment. She looks disheveled, "Oh! Who is this guy, Safari Sam?" He asks as he turns and shows the shirts to Katherine. "Ok, bad, or badder?"
"The dark colors suit you better." She says in a bored tone as she checks him over.
"Oh, thank you, honey. Ok, pop quiz. The dagger and white ash are in the Salvatore's possession, correct?" He asks as he continues to get dressed so he can act like Alaric.
Katherine nods trying not to be sassy (which is hard for her), "The dagger was used to kill Elijah. You'll find him in the basement of the Salvatore house."
"Ok, that dagger needs to stay exactly where it is. The last thing I need to do is resurrect Elijah. Ohh, that guy is a buzzkill." He nods and rolls his eyes as for some reason his chest feels lighter.
Katherine moves her head and looks at him, "Don't forget you're on the outs with your girlfriend Jenna."
Klaus nods his head as he buttons up his shirt. "Right. Elena's aunt. For all the lies about Isobel. What else?" He asks as he starts walking over to her.
"That's it." She says as he gets closer to her and touches her face making her flinch away slightly because of pure fear running through her body.
He smirks as he looks down at her, "Oh, so jumpy."
Katherine looks up at him, "Please, just... kill me. I've told you everything that I know."
Klaus practically raises his eyebrow at her and he bends down putting his hands on the chair arms. "You see, I believe that you believe that but what would you not know? What could they be keeping from you? Hmm? Anything? Tell me." She looks at him in the eyes and he easily compels her.
Katherine tells him in a monotone voice. "They were trying to see if Bonnie could find a way to kill an Original without a dagger."
He stands up straight once again, "Bonnie the best friend?" She nods her head slightly, "And then you said she didn't have her powers anymore."
Katherine is leaning back as she sees that he shows irritation on his face. "She doesn't or didn't. I don't know. You kidnapped me, remember? I'm kinda out of the loop."
"Well, we'll have to get to the bottom of that."
Katherine starts pleading, "Please, just kill me, Klaus, and be done with it." In her tone you'd expect a tone of resignation and slight hope, but instead it's fear.
He automatically snaps back tilting his head slightly, "And show you kindness? I've searched for you for over 500 years. Your death is going to last at least half that long." He takes out his pocket knife and opens it for her. "I want you to take this knife... And stab yourself." He compels her as he takes the knife and give it her before she stabs her thigh. "Now take it out." She takes it out and her wound heals almost instantly. "Now while I'm gone, I want you to do that over and over and over again and if you get bored, switch legs."
She sighs, "Where are you going?"
He bends down once again, "I'm gonna go lay eyes on my precious doppelganger." He kisses her on the forehead and she gasps softly. "Oh, don't look so glum, Katerina. The fun is just beginning. Again, please." He leaves and Katherine stabs herself again.
Back to Rayen's House
The four of us woke up surprisingly early and we quickly had breakfast that Anya made for us. She makes us French toast, bacon, eggs, and sausage as she cooks for us we all get ready fro the day. I feel really full. like to the point of combustion. I put on a pair of light washed skinny jeans, a dark green crop top with angel sleeves that reach down past my fingertips, and a pair of thigh high heeled leather boots. I smile slightly in the mirror in my bathroom, my body and my head feels better as I slowly work on my makeup.
I turn on my music and sing as I put foundation on as I push my magic in through my house letting everyone hear my radio. I start working on my eyebrows as i pull my magic back into my body. I add a dramatic black gel cat eyeliner before using a highlight on my cheekbones and inner corner of my eyes. "Girls what color lipstick should I wear?" I yell out and Melody comes in wearing a pair of shorts with fishnet leggings underneath them, a shirt that has the moon phases on it saying, 'it's not a phase', and a pair of ankle combat boots. Her makeup is like mine so far except she has white freckles and red lipstick.
She looks over my outfit and tilts her head, "Let me see your lipsticks." She walks in behind me and opens my lipstick holder. "Hmm what kind of mood are you in? Gothic, Ethereal, Soft girl, or Earthy?" She asks as she pulls out green, black, white with sparkles, and pink matte liquid lipsticks.
"Let's go with Ethereal Goth." I say with a smile as she hands me the black one and I easily add it on as I feel a shiver run down my spine. It's like my body can tell something big is gonna happen. Matt walks in and leans against the door as he watches us. You can tell actually knowing everything that has happened is better for his mental and physical health. He looks a bit lighter and relieved than he did when he came over. I tilt my head as he watches us get ready like we're aliens, "You feel better now Mattie?"
He nods and rubs the back of his neck, "Yeah, I have a better head about everything now. Can you guys take me to Caroline's house to talk to her?"
"Of course we can." Anya says as she is laying down with Riptide on her stomach. We nod and grab my keys before we pile into my car. We get to her house and we send him off. I hope Care actually does the right thing and not try to use her compulsion on him. It won't work because I wove my plants into his shoes' fabric, so he can't be compulsioned. He looks back and waves as he has his backpack over his shoulder.
"Will he be okay?" Melody asks as she looks at him in the back of the car.
I nod, "Care wouldn't hurt him unless is was accidental and she wasn't paying attention to her special awareness." They nod and wave at him as he reaches the porch.
Third Person's POV:
As the girls drive away waving at him, Matt's stomach is starting to feel uneasy. They told him the truth and he lied to the girls. But he promised the sheriff and he never goes back on a promise. He sighs as he turns back to the door. He'll tell them if it starts to get too dangerous. He quickly knocks on the door and Elizabeth opens the door with a confused look on her face. "Caroline left early for school."
Matt walks in, "I know. I came to see you. I don't know what to do. What to say, how to act around her-"
"You can't let on that you know?" She says as she closes the door.
They move into the living and they both stay standing. Matt drops his bag on the floor, "She wants me to take her to the dance. What am I supposed to do?"
"Take her to the dance." She says calmly.
Matt instantly responds, "I'll never get away with it. She knows me too well, she'll figure it out."
She sighs, "Damn it, Matt, just do it. She's my daughter. She's my baby. I just, I need some time."
"I know, but..."
Liz cuts him off, "Look, if what Caroline told you is true, she's not the only one. The Salvatore's are vampires. The Gilbert family is in on it. Rayen has to be in on despite being human she's a little to calm and nice around everyone. Tyler Lockwood is God knows what..."
"A werewolf and Rayen doesn't have anything to do with it she has powers cause of her Native American side of her family." Matt instantly comes to defend the only person that spoke up and tried to keep him in the loop. The Sheriff nods and looks at him curiously, "And the girls living with her are her auntie and cousin. They have no idea about what's going on in this messed up town."
She sighs thankful that there is one family that is still human, "There's no one in this town I can trust. I just need to take a beat and figure out what to do." She looks down as her stomach starts to churn.
"That'll never fool her."
"Yes, you will. As far as she knows, you don't remember anything. Buy me some time. Please, Matt." Matt's stomach starts to churn even more.
Rayen's POV:
After we take Matt to Care's house, Anya drives us to all the way to Richmond, so we can shop without being noticed by anyone. So we easily find an occult shop using Mel's powers and walk in easily. We stop and take a deep breath in smelling all of the scents of the city. It smells like fall. Pumpkin and vanilla, along with the hint of perfume from the girls that are parked on the other side of us. We figured out this morning that we were low on witchy supplies. So today is mostly just to stock up our witchy items especially since we have no need to hide who we are here. Since no one knows us. We get out and walk in the smell of a dragon fruit incense wafting into our noses and I can hear all of us just collectively sigh. It feels like home and we look at one another. Our smiles free of worry and stress. Which has come with being in Mystic Falls... unfortunately.
"Alright everyone remember, I am paying and if you try to stop me from doing so then I'll swat you." Anya says while raising her eyebrow at us and we both smirk.
"Don't threaten us with a good time." We say in unison Anya rolling her eyes and we all grab a separate hand cart before going to different parts of the store.
I walk towards the candles because I need some new ones cause mine are all being used in the house. I easily let my instincts lead me around the store. My hands shooting out softly and easily grab the ones I need. I hum a little tune as my magic leads me to the herbs and mini gemstones in potion bottles. Suddenly before I know it my cart is full and I look for the girls. I bump into someone as I grab a lapis lazuli raw stone baggie and I look up to see Greta. She and I freeze. Her eyes search mine as I put the baggie in my cart.
"Oh my gods, you remember don't you?" She asks and I nod. Knowing it's not her fault. It's still Klaus's.
"Of course I do." I say and I start grabbing what I need. "Are you here with him?" I ask as I look over at her shoulder while we shop.
"Yeah. You know I have to be where he wants me. I'm just glad he let me drive here to get what I need." She says as she moves her hair out of her eyes as she looks at the assortments of quartz.
I feel something twinge in my stomach, "Did you guys know?" I ask softly as I see a little baggie for a child. She gives me a hug from behind putting her head on my shoulder and her tears soaking my shirt.
"We did. I am so sorry. He would've been beautiful and so protected. I wish I could turn back time, so you can save him." She sobs and some tears of mine come falling off my cheeks.
"So do I." I whisper and she lets out and audible cry. "I didn't even get to raise my precious baby boy and if I knew that Klaus was the father then I would've taken precautions." I say as I pull away and look at her before wiping my tears. "Tell him exactly that." She nods before leaving and paying for her stuff. I finish off my shopping and it's like nothing happened. We go about our day.
"I think we need to have a self care day. We all need it." Melody says as she points to a high end looking spa. "And plus that one looks like so much fun." Anya and I look at one another before nodding. We take our stuff back to the car and we walk back with our RBFs on.
"Welcome to Diamond Treatment, where we make sure that you are as sparkling as a diamond when you leave." A young person (Can't really tell their gender don't want to be disrespectful) says with a customer service voice. They look at us and their jaws drop before their freckled alabaster cheeks blush. "H-how may i help you?" They put their black side fringe behind their ear and let it curl behind to stay put.
"Yes, darling sorry to make you nervous but i was wondering where your service menus were?" I ask and they blush. It looks so cute on them.
The bend down behind the desk and hold up a little black menu book. "I'-I'm sorry. I forgot to set them out. We don't get very many people around this time of day."
"No problem darling. Thank you." I smile and walk over to the desk before looking at the menu, "We would like to have the Moussaieff Red packages for the three of us. I would also like to have us all get some stuff done to our hair." I say as I look back to notice their nametag, 'DS' and I smile. "And i would like to pay for your spa to close down for the rest of the day. I will gladly pay for it."
DS looks amazed as their bright blue eyes light up like fairy lights, "Are you sure miss?" They ask and I smile, "It's going to cost so much." They say nervously. I nod before pulling out my black credit card. Their eyes widen to owl proportions and they nod. "I'll go tell the owner." They quickly walk over to their privacy door to the back. I turn around and I see my girls smiling.
"You actually spoke like our great grandmother did at the casino when she would talk to our new hires." Melody says with a smile and tears eyes. She and I hug before they come back and gently guide us back before we get started. I smile as I sigh and let my magic settle.
Which means the three of us get deep tissue massages, a new hair color for all three of us, and the best facials to top us off before we go to dinner. My new hair is now nothing like my old self. Melody now has a deep navy blue hair with multiple different shades of lighter blue hidden in it while Anya got her hair bleached blonde with candy red tips and I got rid of my emerald green hair. Now I am a fiery blood red head with gold and tiger orange highlights. It makes me feel powerful. I check myself in the mirror and see a tattoo and piercing parlor in the reflection.
I turn to the girls as we get to the car, "Who wants to get piercings?" I ask with a smirk and their eyes grow to saucer plate size.
Meanwhile at Alarics' Apartment:
Klaus continues to go through his host bodies' closet looking for something to wear. His face scrunching up in disgust as he looks at the lack of pizzazz, "Ah, you're right. This witch is all juiced up and aiming to kill."
Katherine legs are bleeding profusely and she is still doing what Klaus told her to do earlier that day, "That's terrible." Maddox is in the kitchen look around for some real alcohol.
"We're gonna have to kill her, Maddox." He opens a drawer before he looks to the kitchen. "Do you think this Alaric guy has anything vintage?" He looks at the shirts and sees that there's something under. He opens it and sees a lot of weapons to kill vampires. "Crossbows, wooden bullets and automatics? Who is this guy, again?" He asks as he's holding a small crossbow.
Katherine says in a matter of fact tone, "He's the local vampire hunter."
Klaus tosses the weapon onto his bed while walking over to Katherine. "Ahh. Well, that explains the clothes."
"All I could find. Guy likes his bourbon." Maddox hands him a glass and Klaus gladly accepts it.
Klaus takes sip of it before he turns to look at Maddox with a sigh as the alcohol slides down his throat., "I knew there was something about him I liked. There's a high school dance and I'm gonna need you to take out witch bitch."
"If she has that much power, she can sense me coming from a mile away. I won't be able to get near her. You have to do it."
"In this body? I'm a Haggard history teacher. She can easily hurt me. I mean, not me, Klaus me, but you know what I mean." Katherine is listening to them in hopes that somehow she can use it to her advantage.
"No witch could handle channeling that much power. It'll kill her. It would kill me. You just have to make her use it." He says as he gets closer to Klaus so he knows it's true.
"You mean like provoking her to death?"
"Won't take long. Just keep attacking her until it kills her. His body, Alaric's, will last longer than hers will."
"How? He's human."
"I can help in that department. I can do a spell to protect you." Maddox says with a smirk before Klaus looks down at Katherine and she lowers her head in submission. "Um.. Klaus, what about... Rayen?" He asks as he looks at Klaus. His eyes locking with his Warlock's.
"We try to keep her away. You know how she is about those who are close to her." Maddox nods as he starts cooking their breakfast.
Back to Rayen's POV:
Once we get finish our girl selfcare day and getting our piercings. I got my girls pierced, Melody got snake bites, and Anya got her belly button pierced. We find a little diner and we easily get a table. Which gives me a flashback of Ni-Klaus and I eating at some fancy restaurant before a vampire tried to kidnap me. I easily used my vine to torture him before I staked him. After all, he broke my Cartier choker that Klaus got me for a 'just because' present. Though I think it's cause he had to cancel our date night the week before cause of something to do with his business.
"Hey Ray, you okay?" Mel asks as I snap out of my trance.
"Sorry about that. Erasure flashback." Unfortunately they've been coming back in waves today. It seems like Greta's spell is finally being pulled from my brain. Thank god. I hated trying to think back to what happened in Europe and being blocked by a fog or a wall depending on how important the memory was. The girls have actually had to catch me because of my body freezing up cause of it.
"Are you feeling okay after this one? Should Mel use some herbs to help you?" Anya asks as she looks over the menu and I shake my head.
"No I'm fine. I just hope that these stop soon. I don't want to see happy memories of my ex lover when he was just manipulating me to break his curse." I say stopping the conversation there. I don't notice that Anya looks over at Melody with a shake of her head. We finish our dinner easily and the waiter was perfect so we easily tipped him the entire check amount on top of the original amount. Mel and I take a nap in the car while Anya drives us back to Mystic Falls and all of it's supernatural bullshit and Tom-fucking-foolery.
I open my eyes and the edges of my vision is blurry. it's fake. It's a memory. Or is it? I see that Klaus is in his body but this time, It's our first meeting. My eyes tear up as I see his smile. Is it fake? Could I have been wrong? I shake my head and wipe the tears that are nonexistent. Everyone is staring at us even though we don't see it. I watch as we walk looking completely in love. The scene changes and my heart clenches.
"What- no no no no I can't be still- No." I say as I get slammed back into my body.
I yelp with my hand over my heart trying to calm it as I open my eyes to see that we're in front of the high school. I feel the hairs on the back of my neck standing up and my magic is buzzing. I look to Anya and Mel, "You feel that?" I ask softly as if anything louder would alert everyone to our presence. They look just as shocked as I do.
"We should check it out. The Decade dance is happening tonight when I got the text from Care." Mel tells us and we all jump out of the car. I gather my magic and move it to my hands ready to use my magic at any time. Mel does the same and Anya just smirks as we walk in like we own the place.
We walk in and see that everyone is dancing to their hearts content. I smile as Care, Mattie, and Jeremy come up and give me hugs. I nod to the girls and Anya goes to mingle with the chaperones. The girls and I dance all the while Mel mingles with everyone. Someone taps on my shoulder and it's Alaric, but I know the truth. "Care for a dance Ray?" He asks as he holds his hand out and a slow song comes in.
I nod, "Sure Ric." I take his hand before he and I are dancing in a very appropriate adult and teenager manner. It feels so weird to be dancing with my teacher even though his soul is being pushed back by my exes. I keep my eyes looking around the room.
"W-Rayen, I forgot why aren't you on my class roster anymore?" He asks curiously and I look up at him. I noticed that he was trying not to say my nickname."
"I finished this school year back when I was in Europe after I was hurt." I remind him as we dance. "It was a lot easier than people think plus teacher like to drone on with insignificant details."
"You are a very bright young woman. Good job on finishing this years work." I can feel his nerves in his body as we dance. "I um I also heard a rumor that you were dating someone?" He asks as I can feel his body tense up. My eyes flicker up to his and I see Nik-Klaus's reflecting back into mine.
"That's wrong. I was once in love-" Alaric looks down at me, "but he was just using me." His eyes reflect sadness and hurt making my heart clench.
"Oh? I don't think he was using you. He might have been hurt in the past and that carried over to your relationship cause he didn't want to hurt you."
"If that were so he could've told me anything. I know I did. Excuse me." I excuse myself and walk away as I feel my heart beating faster than that of a hummingbirds wings. I go towards the punch bowl and I dunk my cup in the punch before chugging it down. Someone spiked it. I smirk before I get some more punch.
I look around to see that Ric- I mean Klaus has disappeared. Something is going to happen I can feel it. My magic is very uneasy and that's not a good thing. As I watch everyone is dance on the dance floor changing the pace to something fast. I don't know how long it this happiness lasts and it all changes in an instant. Once Mel and Anya get back to me we watch as Dana goes out on the stage.
"Thanks for being here, everybody. We have a special shout-out tonight." I watch as the 'Keep Elena alive gang' all stop in front of the stage. She looks down at them, well Elena in particular. "This is for Elena. From Klaus." A song starts playing and I look to see that Elena is starting to freak out. I can't stop the feeling of jealousy spike in my heart. SO instead I push it down and lock it up.
"So he is here." Anya says as she looks out at the crowd. I didn't tell them about my magic pulling me to him the other night.
"He hasn't told you anything?" I ask curiously and I turn to her.
She shakes her head, "No. He hasn't said anything since I came here except to watch over you and you told me to tell him your message."
"I feel a massive witchy power build up and it's getting ready to snap." Melody tells me as we lock eyes. My body surprisingly not telling me anything. "Close your eyes and pretend to fix your shoe. Connect with the wood in the school it will tell you." I nod and do as she says. My magic letting my hands slide into the wood of the gym floor like it's sand. I take a deep breath before pouring my magic into the wood. It soaks it up like a sponge. It shows me the entire school plan and where the most stress is. I feel something off about it and the wood whispers to me. My heart thumps so loudly it's making me shake in turn making the floor shake. I get pulled out of the wood leaving a burnt mark and broken pieces reaching up like hands.
"You could've killed her stupid!" Mel hisses and I open my eyes looking up at who pulled me away.
Damon of course, "What the hell were you doing?" He hisses at me and I growl as the floor shakes more. My anger rises as the second tick tick by.
"I was trying to feel the magical stress that the wood in the school is feeling." I growl as I pull away and slap his arm not hard but not soft. Just enough to send a message through it.
"Klaus took Jeremy." My eyes widen and I look at the girls.
"Stay here and get them out if need be. I'm going to grab Jer." I say as I walk out of the gym and I start roaming the school looking for them. I can feel my magic rolling off me in waves as my vine is slithering around my body trying to help me. The flowers' petals open and glowing slightly.
I get close to the Alaric's classroom when I hear voices. "Ok, so where are you taking us?" I hear Elena ask and I tilt my head as if I can hear better like that.
I lean against the wall as I hear Alaric's voice, "Just a little further."
Elena says confused, "What... Something's not right."
Bonnie asks Klaus, "Where's Jeremy?" They stop making him laugh.
"I just had to get away from that dance. The sixties, uchh. Not my decade. He laughs darkly, "I mean, whose call was that, anyway? I much prefer the twenties. The style, the parties, the jazz."
I walk closer and I see Alaric's back as I stand in the shadows. "Alaric. Are you on vervain?" Elena asks as I slowly slide my vine down my arm. He slowly walks towards her.
"Now why would you ask me that question, Elena?" He stops and looks at the both of them.
"He's being compelled." The girls start moving back and I roll my eyes as I can feel Klaus's amusement.
"Nope. Try again." Bonnie puts herself between him and Elena.
"What's going on?" Bonnie asks as she puts her hand out ready to use her powers.
"Ok, I'll give you a hint. I am not Alaric." He keeps walking towards them and I roll my eyes before I make myself known. My magic so upset it's making my hair swirl slightly. I'm so glad I went with pasties to cover my new piercings. I so could not handle wearing a real bra right now.
"Come on, who else has the audacity to lure you where no other humans or vampires are to get your attention?" I growl as I let my heels click on the floor while I walk towards them. They all look towards me in shock.
"You knew?" He says as he tries to walk towards me and I use my vine to slice his hand. His eyes showing that he is proud at that fact.
"Of course I did. The minute you ordered Maddox put you in that body. I got pulled to his apartment for some gods forsaken reason." I walk over to the girls and they look at me appalled.
"Why didn't you tell us?" Bonnie asks and I roll my eyes.
I scoff and glare at them, "The same reason you guys never told me about the ritual for him is to use me as a battery again."
"Come on Wonder, it wasn't like that." My eyes widen and I look at them to see that they made the connection from what the others have talked about.
"You have no right to say anything Klaus. Let alone using that name again." I growl as his eyes look down looking guilty. He snaps his eyes back up to hide the hurt.
"No, it's not possible." Elena says as I play with my vine wiping off Ric's blood off it. "You were dating him?" I look up at Elena making sure that Ric is near so he can hear the response.
"Yes Elena, I was, what a mistake that was. Had a great time with him, helping his 'business', gaining a title, my memory was wiped with a spell cause compulsion doesn't work on my kind, miscarried my little boy because I didn't know that werewolf venom was poisonous to a child who had vampiric traits, and got my memories back because witchy magic doesn't work. So yes it was possible." I growl as I walk behind the girls. Klaus's face changes instantly when our child was mentioned.
Klaus looks at me with a look that I can't decipher, "Just relax, Elena. I'm not here to hurt you. You're not on my hit list tonight." He looks at Bonnie and his expression turns dark, "But you are." I watch as she throws him against the wall with her powers. He gets up easily. "Now, did I mention that I knew a witch? You're gonna have to hit me a lot harder than that." He rushes over her so she throws him against a display case. He laughs. "By all means... Fire away!" He gets up, "If you kill this body, I'll just get a new one. Maybe Jeremy."
"Go Ray and Elena. Run. Run!" She and I do as she says and run. I turn to see that Bonnie closed the doors with her powers and she catches up with us just as Damon joins us.
"What happened?"
"Klaus is in Alaric's body and Klaus was the guy that knocked up Ray in Europe." Elena just blurts out making me growl at her.
Damon looks down at me, "What?"
I roll my eyes, "Shut up Elena it was in the past. His body is being used as a conduit for Klaus's mind and soul. You guys haven't really been upfront with me so I didn't have to with you." I say as his eyebrows slightly furrow before he looks at Elena.
"Go find Stefan. Now. Ray you find-"
"I will make sure that no harm comes to the humans on this property." I glare at him as i can tell my eyes are glowing. He looks slightly hurt that I'm still brushing him off. Well, it sucks doesn't it.
"Okay." Elena says as I close my eyes go back to my position that I was at in the gym. I easily zone out once again and the wood comes out of the flooring. I smirk as I can feel my powers working. I let out a breath as my vine grows and caresses me for protection. It's feels comforting. I gasp lightly as I shiver letting my power flow out to protect the humans in the school. I can hear Bonnie's footsteps retreating and going to the cafeteria.
I can hear Klaus talking to Bonnie, "What took you so long? Now, do you want to do this the easy way or the hard way?" I hear cracking and I gasp as my chest thumps loudly. Something had to have just broken and I wince softly. "The hard way. Got it." I hear him getting off of something and then something else cracks making him groan. "What? You'd kill your favorite history teacher?"
"It's what Alaric would want. And he'd want you to suffer first." Bonnie says and I can feel my eyes welling up.
"Look at you." There's a small pause. "Is that all you got?"
"Let's find out." She says as I hear other footsteps. One human and the other Vampire. The other footsteps have to be Vampire as well.
"There you are Elena." I hear Damon say exhaustedly.
"What are you doing? Where's Bonnie?" Elena asks with fear in her voice and I can feel my head starting to buzz as I'm holding onto the connection with the wood in the entire school. I tune everything out, so I can keep the Normies safe. The entire school is a buzz with the magic that Bonnie is carrying and using. I grip my fingers tighter around the wood and I push more power into it. I get pulled away as something slides down my face. I probably have a bloody nose. I open my eyes to see that Damon pulled me away.
"No more. You can't keep going." He says as he wipes my face and I see that his eyes show his veins making me roll my eyes.
"Fine, take me to Bonnie. I may be able to help her." I say as I stand up and wipe the blood off my face. More than likely smeared.
He walks with me to the cafeteria and I see Stefan and Elena trying to get into the cafeteria. I look over to see Bonnie looking at Elena with a smile and then as if in slow motion her eyes roll back. Her knees buckle and she falls on the floor. Everything stops. My jaw drops as Elena and Stefan open the doors and rush over Bonnie. It's like all the sound has been sucked out. One of my first friends, is gone. I drop down to my knees and scream as I watch Elena cradle Bonnie in her arms. I lost another person. Gods damn it! I stand up as I see the Stefan take Elena away. I walk over weak from over using my powers and as Damon closes Bonnie's eyes. I use my vine and slice the meaty part of my hand. I let out a little hiss as I help gather blood in my hand.
"May you find guidance to the other side Bonnie. The spirits of your ancestors will wait for you." I whisper as I draw a crescent moon on her forehead with my blood and kiss her cheeks. "Don't need me anytime soon this shouldn't have happened." I whisper before I walk out and the girls drive me home. Letting me mourn in silence before they make me eat. At this point I feel nothing. Not even Care has messaged me or Ty or Mattie. Why would they? In their eyes I probably betrayed them.
Melody forces me to drink some water and take my iron pills, change into a pair of sweats and a tank top, and mediate with her in the woods on my property. As I am sitting outside with her Anya left to go get some new blood donors for her. Mel has me sitting in the grass while my hair is down and my feet in the dirt. The roots around me wrap around my legs moving under my jeans slightly to touch my skin. I suddenly feel energized as the roots move to rest against my skin. I feel likke they're wrapping around my hands like someone else's hands holing mine.
"Deep breath in... Deep breath out. Slowly focus in on your breath and your power." Mel says as I slowly let my power seep out of me. "Now push it to the edges of your property." I nod slowly before doing it and letting my power slither like snakes through the earth. A shiver runs down my spine as I feel cold hands resting in my hands and they grip my wrists. They don't feel hostile though instead they give off a safe and comforting feeling. "Okay now feel all of the newer plants that are protecting the property."
"Vervain, Wolfsbane, Basil, Bay, Mugwort, and Sage... both white and regular." I say softly as the plants light up behind my eyes.
"Good. Now the traps that Anya put find them all and strengthen them." I take a deep breath and my vision changes to find them all and I slowly push my power to help the plants around them to strengthen them.
"Done. And seriously pits with vervain and wolfsbane infused water in the bottom? What if a human gets caught or animals?" I ask as I open my eyes looking up at Melody.
She smiles, "Anya will get them out and mind wipe the humans and relocate the animals." She says as she crosses her arms. "In her words: Her sleep schedule is dependent on how much sex and blood she gets."
I close my eyes as the hands squeeze mine again, 'Keep your concentration.' I hear a male whisper and I get a jolt of Deja Vu.
Unknown world or realm... Possibly the In-Between:
I open my eyes once again and I see that I am still in my spot. But this time my father is in front of me. Behind him the plants look a bit more spiritual. They're glowing slightly. He smiles as his eyes are closed. "This is meant to see if you can use your powers yet my little Sassy."
"Okay papa." I say with a smile as I close my eyes.
"Okay little one, Tell me how many rose bushes there are and what their species are." He tells me while I push my powers out to the edge.
I quickly spread my powers out and let them light the bushes up. The glow with my energy. "12. 3 are Damask rose bushes, 5 are Dog-rose and vervain hybrids, 2 are China rose Bushes and the last two are black beauty roses. Why are you teaching this to me papa? Melody is trying to help me out in reality." I ask as I open my eyes again. He keeps our hands connected as he has some plants move some hair out of my face.
"Because little one, your powers are growing and it's turning you into how you are supposed to look. The green hair isn't meant to stay. It was just for our tribe and the children of Nature to recognize you as it's protector." He says as he opens his eyes my eyes reflected back at me and I tear ups as he cups my cheek. "Everything is for a reason, my little Nunnehi." I smile and tear up as I lean into his hand. It feels so real. Hell he even smells the same. Everything about him is the same. His mismatched eyes, long black hair that's always braided back, and the scar he got when he was younger. (Imagine Adam beach except with a scar on his cheek bone reaching behind the top of his ear. Like a crescent moon. His eyes reflect the opposite of hers. His long hair reaching his waist and braided back with Native American tattoos covering his arms and back.)
"I miss you papa. So much. " I whisper while my tears fall over my cheeks and he cups my cheeks. "It's been so hard. I have lost so many people that I love. Mom, Markus, the Gilbert parents, Zach, Vicki, and my baby boy." I put my hand on my stomach. "And now Bonnie's gone... I could've stopped it." I start sobbing before he pulls me into his arms. My face smushed into his chest he just lets me cry uncontrollably in his chest.
"It's okay honey. I got you. Bonnie is still alive, but they needed your reaction to really sell it to Niklaus that she is dead. They have a plan." He says as he pets my hair down and tilts my head to look at him. "And don't worry Rohan is being taken care of by your mother."
I look up at him and he wipes my face, "You guys have been taking care of him?" I ask as he smiles and kisses my nose making me smile.
"Of course, We have watched over you the entire time since our Passings. The only ones who haven't are those that moved on or are watching over their own families or they are in the process for getting reincarnated." He says with a smile as the two of us stand up.
"Do you want to see them?" He asks as I smile and nod furiously. We stand up and walk into the house. I hear mom singing, "Honey! We have a visitor!"
"Who is it? If it's Markus and Lillianna to come over and steal Rohan away. Tell them it's our day with our grandson." I hear her say making me giggle.
"And what if I wanted to hold my son?" I ask and she comes around the corner looking younger and free of worries. In her arms a beautiful baby boy with blond hair and my eyes.
Her eyes tear up and she walks over wrapping me in a hug, "You shouldn't be here." she whispers and I roll my eyes as I hear the little one between us start whining. "Hold your son honey. I'm going to talk to your father." She says and I look at her with a smile as she moves Rohan into my arms.
He looks at me and puts his hand on my chest over my heart before smiling, "Hi honey. I'm sorry I wasn't able to protect you." A tear slides down my face and he gurgles as I start to sway and I give him a kiss on his forehead. He pats my face with his little hand and giggles. I smile as I spend time with my precious little boy.
Meanwhile Third person POV:
The girls are watching as Rayen is being covered by small vine like roots. Melody gets closer worried as she has never seen it like this. She gets close and tries to put her hands on one of the roots before It gently smacks her hand. Anya chuckles and gently pulls Melody away.
"We probably shouldn't pull her from that. If it has anything to do her powers or the spirits then we don't want to mess with her." She says as Melody looks at her cousin.
"Should we stay here an watch her?" Melody looks at Anya and Anya pecks Mel's lips making her blush.
"If you'd like. I could make us a little back and bring out some blankets so we can be here for her if she needs it." Melody smiles and nods.
"Please. I don't want to leave her alone out here." Melody looks down before Anya comes out before speeding into the house and coming back with hot chocolate in thermos', a couple blankets, pillows, and Melody's Bluetooth speaker.
"I also brought a speaker so we can have some music as we watch over her and look at the stars." Melody smiles and helps to set up a little areas, so they can be comfortable.
As the girls have a little date they put on some music. The first song to pop up is the perfect song for this moment. DJ Got Us Falling In Love Again by Usher. Rayen is spending time with her family in the in-between something is happening over at the Salvatore house. Elena is sitting next to the chimney with tears in her eyes wrapped in a blanket. Stefan walks up holding a glass of water while seeing her in a frozen state. Stefan says softly while handing her the glass. "Hey. Here, drink this."
But Elena being distraught and stubborn, "I can't."
Stefan insists in a softer tone, "Yeah. Yeah, you can." She reluctantly takes the glass, but cries while she does it.
She starts crying into her cup, "This is my fault."
Stefan gently sits down next to her, "No, no, no, no, no. No. Hey. This was Klaus. Listen to me. Klaus did this." He gently caresses her face. Damon arrives making Elena and Stefan look to him.
Elena suddenly angry and stands up about ready to charge the vampire, "What did you do with her?!" Her tears now out of anger and not sadness. He looks at Stefan with an exasperated look on his face.
"Will you please calm her down?" Damon asks his little brother.
"Don't talk like I'm not standing right in front of you."
Damon walks closer and looks at her in the eyes, "Please calm down."
Elena starts crying more as she looks at him, "You knew! Didn't you? You knew that if she harnessed all that power, that she would die, didn't you?"
Damon rolls his eyes, "Yes. Yes, I knew." Her anger gets the better of her and slaps him. It doesn't even faze him. "You need to listen to me, and prepare for what I'm about to say. Bonnie had to die. Klaus using Alaric's body was a total surprise. She wasn't prepared for that. And he wasn't going to stop, and we weren't going to be able to stop him until he knew she was dead. He had to believe it." He sees the clarity enter her face. "She cast a spell. She's alive, Elena. Bonnie's ok." She just stands there in complete and utter shock as she takes in all the information. He goes to the stairs leaving her there while Stefan follows him up.
"You know, you could have told me." Stefan tells him as Damon stops at the bottom of the stairs.
"How do I know when you're going to go blabbing things to your girlfriend?" He looks at his younger brother and continues on his way.
"You even understand what you put her through?"
"See, that's why I didn't tell you. 'Cause you would have never been able to do it. Don't get me wrong, Stefan. I don't mind being the bad guy. I'll make all the life and death decisions while you're busy worrying about collateral damage. I'll even let her hate me for it. But at the end of the day, I'll be the one to keep her alive." He goes upstairs while leaving his brother to look at him.
At the Abandoned witchy house
Jeremy has his laptop on his legs with Bonnie in front of him. Candles all around and unbeknownst to them Markus is watching with his girlfriend next to him. They listen in. "You sure it's safe here?" He asks and Markus rolls his eyes while Lillianna rubs his forearm.
Bonnie says with a small smile, "Yeah, I'm sure." He takes something from his bag and starts massing with it. Bonnie tilts her head curiously, "What is that?"
"It is MiFi. If we're gonna be stuck here, then we might as well have Internet."
Markus looks at his girlfriend and she smirks, "We can't do anything here and you know it honey."
He growls lightly, "Yeah yeah. I honestly want to hurt them. She blessed her afterlife." He says as she pecks his cheek.
"Let's go check on the leeches see what they're doing." She says with smile as she phases out. He smirks.
"Let the chase begin." A small breeze makes the candles flicker and the two alive humans to shiver.
Bonnie looks at Jeremy with a toot of her head making her curls slightly shake. "You don't have to stay down here with me."
"Hey, look, I'm not letting you out of my sight." Jeremy and Bonnie look at one another with a slight tinge of awkward in their smile.
Bonnie breaks the silence, "I... I need you to talk to Elena for me. Tell her how sorry I am for what Damon and I had to do."
Jeremy smiles as he types on his computer, "Well, um... Why don't you tell her yourself?" He turns the laptop, so that Bonnie can see Elena thanks to the webcam. The tears in both of their eyes apparent.
Back at the Salvatore House
Elena is talking with Bonnie via webcam. Happy that one of her best friends is alive and not dead like she thought 20 minutes ago. "Elena, I'm so sorry." Bonnie apologizes.
"It's ok, it's ok. I just needed to see that you were okay for myself." Bonnie starts crying.
Bonnie's tears start falling down her cheeks, "There wasn't enough time for me to tell you." Lillianna shows up in the Salvatore boarding house before going to find the boys while Markus phases in and glares at Elena. He leaves and goes to check on the Original in the basement while Lillianna sneaks around the house.
Markus goes down into the basement and slips into the room that Elijah is in. Getting a wicked idea, "Now what can I do with you?" He asks as he looks at the closed door and smirks before we switch upstairs to Lillianna and the other occupants of the house.
"It's ok, seriously. Damon explained it all to me." After they talk for a title bit she goes up to Damon's bedroom. Damon walks of his bathroom grabbing a glass of his favorite alcohol. Elena joins him at his doorway.
"Ugh. Look. Klaus had to think she was dead. Your reaction had to be real."
Elena walks in and leans against his bed frame. "I understand why you did what you did. Klaus was fooled, and Bonnie's alive."
"Here's to duplicity." He takes a sip letting the alcohol warm his throat and Lillianna peeks in.
"Oo love drama." She says softly as she leans against the doorframe.
"But let's get one thing straight, Damon. Bonnie will not die for me, I will not let that happen." Lillianna rolls her eyes and yawns.
"That's the savior complex thingy that Mark was talking about." Lillianna says as she watches Damon's face get harder.
"We need to kill Klaus, Elena. Real Klaus. Who will probably be coming to pay you a visit soon now that he knows that Bonnie is dead. She's the only one who can do it."
"We'll find another way."
Lillianna rolls her eyes, "Yeah and hopefully you don't kill Ray in the process."
"I hope so." Damon nods solemnly.
Elena moves her hair out of her face, "Look, I shouldn't have hit you."
Damon nods accepting it and Lillianna's face is in shock. "Apology accepted. Let me be clear about something. If it comes down to you and the witch again, I will gladly let Bonnie die. I will always choose you." She doesn't say anything for a moment before looking in his eyes.
"Good night, Damon."
"Good night." She looks at him and leaves as she walks down the stairs she gets a bad idea. Lillianna follows her as she goes down into the basement before she walks into the open room with the desiccated original. Lillianna looks over at Markus as he is standing against where the dead vervain leaves are.
"What did you do?" She asks her boyfriend and he smiles.
"In order for Rayen to get a break there needs to be a new player and he is the one to help." Markus says before he gently wraps her into his arms. "Now let's go get Rayen back to her body." They phase out while she looks down at Elijah's body and removes the dagger.
In the In-Between:
As mom and dad tell me stories while the cook and I have some alone time with my son. He loves when I make my vine move around and dance like a cartoon character. I just wish I could take a picture. He looks so much like Nik but with my eyes. He is beautiful.
"I'm sorry that all this happened to you, little one." I look up as Rohan crawls into my lap and I cradle him in my arms letting him rest his head over my heart. His little fingers splayed out resting slightly.
"It okay papa. It made me grow stronger." I say softly as he comes and sits on the ground next to me. "I even fell in love."
"I know. I approve of him, but I don't get to say anything. I'm not allowed to until he tells you something." I lay my head on his shoulder. We sit there in silence as my eyelids fall. A peaceful sleep. Rohan and dad snoring both in tune but different tones. Mom cooking as the air around us becomes electrified. My vine settling back on my skin. "Go back to your body little one and kick some ass."
She sits down next to the body as the removal of the dagger sends a wave of earth magic to Rayen.
Back to Rayen's property:
My eyes pop open and I see Melody and Anya cuddled up. I smile as I feel roots around me and I move them putting them back where they were before. The look so cute! I thinks to myself before I manipulate the plants to help me carry them and their picnic area. I move them into the house before having the house put them in Anya's room.
I look at them as they cuddle closer Riptide meows and jumps up on her bed and cuddles with them. I aww and close the door before opening the kitty corner door. I walk to my bathroom before arming the house and making sure that the caretaker's family is doing alright. Once my anxiety is satiated I do my nightly routine. Face, teeth, hair, cleaning my piercings, and pj's. I look at myself in the mirror and I remember holding my baby boy. I still feel his little hand on my chest my tears start sliding down my cheeks and I walk to bed. My body shuddering as I sob my heart out. I am so glad my family is taking care of his little soul.
"Goodnight and sweet dreams my family and all those I love in the In-Between." I sob as I feel a cold hand over my forehead.
"Sleep well my darling descendant daughter. This emotional day is done." I hear whispered above me through my bleary eyes I see family. I grab my stuffed animal and pull it close to my chest.
