Yudo slowly nodded while letting the two from the ground.
"What happened to you?" Carlita asked with tears in her eyes.
"I... merged with Yuri." Yudo answered slowly.
"Merged with..." Yuya started before his eyes widened in shock.
Yudo sat up before saying, "Carlita thanks for beating him before... He can merge our dragons again."
"He can... that's just like Yuya and Yuto." she whispered.
"Frost Storm Blizzard Dragon..." Yudo trailed off the name.
Amy looked down at that. "What's going on, why is this happening to the four of you?"
Yudo stood up as she asked that where he said, "Well, while I was with Yuri, I know what exactly Obelisk Force, and the Professor are working for in Duel Academy."
'What do you think you're doing?' Yuri questioned at that.
"You know why they attacked my home?" Carlita asked in shock.
Yudo nodded, "Something called the Arc-Area Project."
"Arc-Area Project?" Yuya asked in confusion.
"The Professor sends out Obelisk Force to Different Dimensions, and turns people into cards, and needing five different girls in order to power up a machine that has the power to unite all of the Dimensions into one world." Yudo explained.
Carlita's eyes widened at that. "Yuya... do you remember what Dennis said?"
"Uh yeah... He did say your one of the keys to a peaceful utopia before you dueled him." Yuya admitted hearing that.
"He said... small sacrifices." Carlita repeated before shuddering. "Is he planning on killing us?"
Yudo looked down at that, "But that's not the worst thing... Me, and Yuri had also encountered... HIM."
"Him?" Amy asked. "Who's him?"
Yudo looked up to her with tears, "The same guy... That murdered our parents..."
Her eyes widened before immediately embracing him. "Are you ok, he didn't hurt you did he?"
Yudo hugged her, "M-Me, and Yuri dueled him, and someone named Sayer..." He shook, "He take over the last of the duel summoning our combined Dragon, and defeated the two of them. Yuri left them for Obelisk Force but... I think he, and Sayer got away from them by now."
Yudo shook his head standing up, "Sayer is a bad guy. He trains Psychic Duelists to start a war in this Dimension from back then, and I thought he was gone but he's still around. Sayer can't be trusted."
Carlita suddenly frowned. "Can he brainwash people?"
He looked down, and nodded slowly. She shuddered. "When Declan was talking to him... it looked like something was happening to his head."
"She's right, they both kept grabbing their heads as though they had a bad headache." Yuya recalled.
Yudo blinked before asking Yuri, 'Do you know anyone from your Dimension that had that?'
'Not that I'm aware of.' Yuri answered only to pause. 'We have company approaching.'
Hearing that Yudo told the three, "Yuri said something's coming."
They turned to see five Obelisk Force and five members of Sector Security approaching from opposite directions.
"Uh oh looks like we're outnumbered." Yuya said looking around.
Yudo asked Yuri, 'Yuri can you give me your Violet Flash?'
Yuri frowned at that as Yudo's deck started glowing. 'What are you planning? Fleeing to another dimension?'
'No.' Yudo said before calling, "I activate Violet Flash!"
A bright light occurred blinding them before Yudo told the three, "Come on, while their distracted let's bail, and find the others!"
They nodded running off at that. They evaded both different sides trying to get after them eventually arriving to the front of the stadium where the rest of the Lancers are at.
"Over here you guys." Gong called noticing them.
Hearing that they ran over breathing as Yuya admitted, "Close call."
"That... wait, Yudo?" Julia asked in shock. "You're not dead?"
Seeing her Yudo waved a bit, "Hey Julia, how ya been?"
"I've been better." she frowned. "What happened to you, Madame Chairwoman told us you died."
"Well it's really strange..." Yudo admitted to her, "But the short version is that the Fusion Duelist who beat me, and I merged together."
"Fused... wait isn't that what Carlita said happened to Yuya and Yuto?" she asked. "A synchro duelist beat him and kidnapped Zuzu."
"What?" Yudo asked hearing that.
"No, I didn't kidnap Zuzu, I thought she was Rinrin!" Yugo who just arrived defended.
Seeing him arrive with Rin and Lulu Yuri smirked. 'Well then, I think it's time for my five on one duel and this time I'm not holding back any of my skill.'
'Uh don't you mean four?' Yudo asked him, 'I don't see Zuzu with them.'
Hearing that Yuri frowned. 'Where is she?'
"Where's Zuzu?" Yudo asked.
Yugo answered, "She's okay. I felt it was too dangerous for her so I left her back at where me, and Rinrin live at. We can pick her up right now."
'He left her alone with the Obelisk Force and whatever it is these security officers are planning?' Yuri asked in shock. 'She's probably going to be turned into a card.'
'In which case we gotta hurry.' Sentital told the two.
Yudo nodded before telling Yugo, "We gotta get her now!"
"Alright come on!" Yugo said running off as they followed him, and Rin.
They arrived at their small house where Yugo called, "Zuzu! Zuzu you in there!?"
There was no answer. Hearing that they ran in where they saw the place was in shambles and Zuzu was nowhere to be seen but they noticed a Sector Security helmet.
"She's not here!" Yugo looked around looking worried.
"What's with this helmet?" Kit asked picking up the Sector Security helmet.
"Roget has her!" Rin realized.
"Who's Roget?" Yudo asked hearing that.
"The director of Sector Security, and a ruthless man." Yugo frowned.
'And our spy in this dimension, I was wondering why he never reported back to the Professor. I had to do my own investigation in this dimension to locate Rin.' Yuri added.
"A Fusion Spy?" Yudo asked hearing that, "So the Professor sent him to find Rin ahead?"
Everyone turned to him at that.
"What are you talking about?" Kit questioned.
"Yuri just told me, Roget was a spy from the Fusion Dimension who never reported back." Yudo answered.
"How do you know he's not lying about that?" Gong asked him.
"I trust him." Yudo answered simply.
"Well in that case we need to get to Roget before something happens to Zuzu." Yuya decided.
They all nodded in agreement at this before Declan said, "We will split two teams. Half of us stay in the Friendship Cup while the other frees Zuzu."
"Speaking of which, who's even still competing in that?" Sylvio asked. "With everything that's just happened I can't remember."
"Amy had won the first match of round 2 against Shay, and now the remaining duelists in the tournament are Rin, Sylvio, Lulu, Celina, Crow, and Zuzu." Carlita answered.
"Then the seven of us will head there along with Yudo and Carlita while everyone else heads to Roget to try and rescue Zuzu?" Sylvio suggested.
"I will take Zuzu's place in the Tournament." Yudo told him, "I don't think Roget will let Zuzu out of his grip for any reason, so it be appropriate if I take her place by then."
"I wasn't even thinking about that, I just thought... the three of you should stick together." Sylvio admitted.
"We still will. Just in the tournament." Yudo explained.
"I know that, I just..." Sylvio started only for Sentital to suddenly gasp.
"It's him."
"Huh? What is it Sentital?" Yudo asked hearing that as Yuri listened as well.
"Do you remember why I influenced your duel with Yuri?" Sentital asked him.
"Cause so you can keep me away from something." Yudo admitted.
"Yes." Sentital answered. "I wasn't sure why it felt stronger than before but now I'm certain. It was Declan."
"Declan?" Yudo blinked, "What do you mean?"
"The looming presence that sought to erase you from existence, it's Declan Akaba." Sentital told him.
"But... You said it felt stronger here... So maybe it was something else?" Yudo asked.
Yuri frowned before his eyes widened. 'Or maybe not.'
"What do you mean?" Yudo asked him.
"I mean, what if it's the same as us?" Yuri inquired. "We somehow merged when I defeated you... if it felt three times stronger here than it did in the Standard Dimension and Declan came to the Synchro Dimension... assuming someone else did too it would be three times more powerful."
"Then... Declan can also merge with someone?" Yudo asked shocked.
"What?" Declan asked in confusion hearing that.
"In theory, the question is who?" Yuri asked before frowning. "Well, either way it makes the solution simple. Card him."
Yudo hearing that shook his head, "I'm not going to do that Yuri."
"Yudo, what's going on?" Amy asked him hesitantly.
Yudo turned to her before looking down, "Sentital told me that he had me attack in the wrong order which allowed Yuri to beat me but it was so he can rescue me. Cause otherside from Aknadin, Nightshroud, Don Thousand, and the Fusion Dimension there is something that wants to erase me but I don't know why. He said it's three times stronger here now, and he senses that it's from Declan."
"In other words I'm a threat to your safety." Declan noted.
"We can figure it out once Zuzu is safe." Yugo told them.
They nodded heading out as they walking Yudo turned to his adoptive brother, "Declan, don't take of this meaning I don't trust you anymore. I still do, I just want to figure out why Sentital is saying that, and why he sensed that."
Declan adjusted his glasses. "That's going to have to be lower on our priority list. Stopping Duel Academy and our father comes first."
He paused after saying that.
"Along with dealing with the man who murdered your parents."
That made Yudo look down, "Why... Why did he go that far for Frozen Heart?"
Amy walked over and hugged him. "I wish I could tell you little brother."
Yudo hugged her back as they arrived at the Friendship Cup. They noticed the crowd looked incredibly frustrated and impatient that the tournament was being delayed.
"Did they really not care their home was in danger?" Lulu asked with a frown.
Rin frowned at that. "I doubt it."
Finally seeing a chance to know them Yudo told the two, "Oh, I uh... Don't believe we met."
"We... sort of met." Lulu pointed out.
"From Yuri yeah." Yudo said before saying, "I'm Yudo... Yudo Akaba." He looked at Lulu, "And your Lulu, and she's..." He turned to Rin saying, "Rin... or Rinrin as Yugo said?"
"Just Rin." she answered as Melissa noticed them.
As Carlita embraced Lulu for the first time Melissa said, "Alright everyone all the contestants are here! Well Zuzu is gone but still we can continue until then!"
"Excuse me, miss?" Yudo asked. "I'm taking Zuzu's place."
"Hm?" Melissa asked hearing that, "Your taking Zuzu Boyle's place? If that's the case then what's your name?"
"Yudo Akaba." Yudo answered.
"Well this isn't something that happened..." Melissa gave thought before saying, "Well duel fans what do you think? Should we give this young man a chance?"
"Just get on with the duels." one wealthy looking man shouted.
"We've waited long enough." a wealthy woman agreed as they all started complaining about the delay in the tournament.
Seeing and hearing that Rin frowned.
"Alright guess that means he's in!" Melissa said before telling Yudo, "You'll be taking her place in the second round."
Yudo nodded before Melissa called, "Alright sorry for the long delay everyone but we are here for round 2 again! So now let us see who's next after Shay was defeated by Amy!"
The holograms with Yudo replacing Zuzu appeared before they disappeared one by one leaving two which is Lulu against Yudo. Lulu blinked before turning to Yudo. "I guess it's our turn?"
Yudo smiled nodding, "Guess so."
"Wait Yudo."
He turned to Amy who gave him two cards as he looked blinking, "You had Masquerade, and it's Chaos Form?"
"Yeah, Carlita gave them to me." Amy said before smiling, "Now their back to you."
He smiled before telling Amy, "Thanks Ames." With that he added his Numbers to his Extra Deck.
Lulu frowned slightly seeing them only to close her eyes as she got on her Duel Runner and into position. "If you two don't mind, I just want to duel Yudo... not both of you."
Yudo hearing that asked Yuri, 'Do you mind that Yuri? Their will be another chance where you can duel her but now as Duelists we have to honor the requests of our opponents.'
Yuri only smirked. 'As long as someone else doesn't interfere I'll stay out of this one. Though I should warn you Yudo... don't underestimate her.'
Yudo nodded before telling Lulu, "Okay, Lulu. As long as no-one gets in the way he won't come. And I'll tell you even with me being Carlita's boyfriend don't take me lightly."
Lulu smiled. "I wasn't planning on it."
They both readied themselves at the starting line going down before a buzz sounded as Melissa called, "Now begin with Crossover Acceleration!"

Sapphire Swallow lets me attach a Lyrilusc monster in my graveyard as an Overlay Unit, Cobalt Sparrow means you can't target her with effects, and Beryl Canary gives her an extra 200 attack points and you can't take control of her."

"Actually, I'm not." Lulu answered. "First since I have a Lyrilusc with at least three materials Bird Sanctuary lets me draw a card."
She drew her card before smiling.
"Then, the other effect of Bird Sanctuary attaches Lyrilusc - Prom Thrush and all her materials to Asssembled Nightingale." The two flew into Nightingale's Units.

"6 Overlay Units..." Yudo trailed off.
"There's one other thing you should know Yudo." Lulu mentioned. "Lyrilusc - Assembled Nightingale doesn't just gain 200 attack points for every one of her Overlay Units, she also gets a direct attack for each one."
"Say what...?" Yudo blinked before counting the units on Nightingale, "So... She can attack me 6 times with 1400 points!?"
'I told you Lulu was a difficult opponent to beat.' Yuri smirked. 'She didn't use all of those cards when I dueled her either.'
"Assembled Nightingale, attack Yudo's life points directly!" Lulu called.
She charged before Yudo called, "I'm not out yet! I activate Covenant's effect!" His spell glowed, "Since your attacking, I can summon a Crystal from my hand!"
"But that won't help you Yudo, Assembled Nightingale attacks directly so summoning a new monster won't change things." Lulu pointed out.
"Maybe but I can still summon something that can help!" Yudo called summoning Ghost.

Ghost flew in front of him lifting a blue energy barrier.
"The second attack!" Lulu called.
Nightingale charged in attack striking Yudo this time. (Yudo: 2300/Hand: 0)
"What, why did my attack only deal 700 points of damage?" Lulu asked. "Assembled Nightingale has 1400 attack points."
"Crystal Seal negates half of the damage I would take once a turn." Yudo explained.
"Well alright, but Assembled Nightingale attacks again." Lulu mentioned.
Nightingale charged but a blizzard appeared stopping her, and pushing her back. Lulu frowned seeing that.
"Blinding Blizzard?" she asked.
Yudo nodded revealing the card.

'Man, she's quite tough when that's ready... And I guess Nightingale's ability when using a Overlay Unit uses Defense for it's low attack power... How did you manage to beat her?' Yudo asked Yuri.
"I used her strategy against her, and added copies of Dimension Wall to my deck." Yuri answered. "Along with her not using all those monsters."
Yudo nodded drawing before calling, "Okay, I use Level 7 Sage, and Ghost to build the Overlay Network!"
The two flew up entering the Overlay Network.
"So now, I Xyz Summon! Level 28: Titanic Moth!"
A huge humanoid like moth that is orange, and white striped rose up with a red 28 on it's abdomen appeared with four wings.

Yudo called, "Covenant's effect activates!" The spell glowed as he said, "Since I had just summoned a monster, I can draw 1 card!" He drew at this looking before calling, "And now battle!"
Titantic Moth prepared itself for attacking. Lulu looked at the attack only to smile. At least until Yudo called, "Since their are no other monsters on the field, Titanic Moth can fly past your Nightingale to you directly! But when it does so it only attacks with half it's power!"

"Hold that thought Yudo, I use Assembled Nightingale's special ability, by using one Overlay Unit my Lyrilusc monsters can't be destroyed by battle or card effect, but more importantly I don't take any damage!" Lulu countered.

"Huh?" Yudo asked as Titanic Moth fired streams of jet fire which Nightingale blew away with winds, "So I can't damage you as long as she has an Overlay Unit?"
"That's right." Lulu smiled. "I think we both know how this duel is going to end Yudo."
"Well I'm not done yet. Thanks to this! Rank-Down-Magic Crystal Armageddon!" Yudo called activating a different Xyz spell.

Yudo smiled hearing that, "I gave him to Carlita for her to remember me since she promised her teacher not to use any..."
Hearing that Lulu closed her eyes. "Of course he'd tell her that, he knows the danger of the Numbers firsthand."
"So who is he?" Yudo asked her.
"... His name is Kite Tenjo, the single strongest duelist from the Xyz Dimension." Lulu answered sadly.
