Arc 5: Internships
After the sports festival, another challenge comes for our future pro heroes. Internships! Join Izuku, Yusuke and the rest of Class 1A as they are taken under the wings of various pros around to improve their skills as heroes in training.
Behind the scenes, there is talk of a mysterious man known as the Hero Killer. Will he be brought to justice, or will he have his way? Tune in and find out!
Arc 5 Chapter 1: Hero Names
Izuku eagerly waited for Ochako to come out of her apartment. They were gonna walk to class together. Yusuke reluctantly started walking without Izuku. Ochako made her way down from her apartment to see a happy Izuku.
"Deku!" she said.
Ochako then jumped on Izuku hugging him tightly. Izuku was surprised but he hugged back.
"I'm not too heavy am I?" she asked.
"Of course not," Izuku said with a smile, "So, ready to go?"
"Yep!" Ochako said latching onto Izuku's arm.
They were walking to the train station and got onto a train. Someone tapped Izuku on his shoulder.
"Hey, you're that kid who was at the sports festival!" he said.
"Oh yea, you were pretty great out there!" said another person, "Congrats on your victory!"
Izuku was surprised that nobody made a big deal about him being All Might's boy. Izuku and Ochako started walking off the train and walking to U.A.
"This is no time for an idol stroll Class President!" someone said dashing by.
It was Iida.
The students of Class 1A were talking about after the sports festival.
"I had a lot of people talking to me on my way back here," Kirishima said.
"Same here!" Mina said.
"Me too," Ojiro said, "One guy said I almost had Urameshi until the last moment."
"Well you both ARE martial artists." Said Toru.
"Fair point," Yusuke and Ojiro said in unison.
Izuku and Ochako walked into the classroom and everyone turned to Izuku.
"Well if it isn't the champion of the Sports Fest!" Kaminari said.
"Come on guys, I only won by dumb luck," Izuku said.
"More like dumb skill! I'm still feeling that punch Izuku!" Yusuke said rubbing his cheek.
He noticed the two of them holding hands.
"Wanna tell us what this is all about?" he asked.
"Oh! Uh... w-we started d-dating." Izuku stuttered.
"Yea," Ochako said with a smile, "After being dared to ask me out, we decided to become an item."
"Alright! Who's the genius that dared them?" Toru shouted.
"That would be Moi," Mina said with a smile
'Why am I not surprised.' Both Izuku and Ochako thought at the same time.
Aizawa then walked into the room. He was completely bandage free with no cute whatsoever. Everyone immediately silenced.
"Good to see your bandages all gone Mr. Aizawa," Tsu said.
"That old lady's treatment works wonders," Aizawa said, "Alright. Everyone get into your seats. Today's lesson will determine your future."
'oh no,' Kaminari said, 'another history lesson?'
"Today, you'll be choosing your hero names." Aizawa said.
"Awesome! Hero names!" said everyone.
"But first, concerning the pro hero drafts, it will be based on those who think you will be ready in the next few years or so. It's a way to show them how ready you are in the future."
"I see," Yusuke said.
"Its a bit of a spread, but our top two heroes got most of the spotlight," Aizawa saaid showing something on a board.
Izuku and Yusuke got the most drafts from pro heroes.
"Dude, Yagi and Urameshi got the most votes!" Mineta said.
Momo looked at Todoroki's numbers.
"You must be proud," Momo said, "Getting all those numbers."
"Most of them were from my father," Todoroki said.
"Wow Deku! You got so many pro heroes wanting to intern with you!" Ochako said hugging Izuku tightly.
Bakugo was fuming with rage seeing his rival get so many votes.
"How the hell did you manage to get more votes than I did?" Bakugo asked.
"Probably because you have an anger problem," Kaminari said.
"Everyone will have a chance to work with some pros," Aizawa said, "While you have had some experience, the training will still be worth your while."
"This is cool!" Ochako said with a smile.
"But remember to find a good name for yourself…" Aizawa started.
"Or else there will be true hell!" said a voice.
It was the R-Rated hero Midnight walking in. She saw Izuku and ran up to him giving him a big hug.
"Your Auntie Midnight missed you so much Zuzu!" she said, hugging him tight.
Izuku blushed from embarrassment.
Mineta was fuming with jealousy.
"DAMMIT YAGI, WHY DO YOU ALWAYS GET THE HOTTEST-"
He was stopped mid sentence from a slap in the face with a tongue.
"Thank you Asui," Aizawa said as he started to fall asleep, "Midnight will be taking care of..."
He then fell asleep.
Midnight then gave everyone a white board.
Later on people started writing down hero names for themselves.
Yusuke was thinking of using his father's name, however something was stopping him from doing it.
'No,' he thought, 'I can't use that name.'
"So who wants to go first?" Midnight asked.
"I'll go madam Midnight!" Ayoma said walking to the front of the class.
"That kid has guts," Ojiro said
"I cannot stop twinkling!" Ayoma said for everyone to fall out of their chairs comically.
"Are you fucking fucking me?" Mina asked.
"I think it will be better like this," Midnight said, making some edit, "Take out the 'I' and shorten the 'cannot' to 'can't'."
"That sounds grand madam Midnight." Ayoma said making everyone hit their heads on their desks.
"You're not really french are you?" Sato asked.
Mina jumped up
"The hero from another planet Alien Queen!" Mina said.
"Wait, you mean like that horrible monster with the acidic blood?!" Midnight asked, "I don't think so!"
"Dangit!" Mina said pouting.
"That one wasn't ok?" the class asked.
Tsu raised her hand and said, "I think I got one, how about I share?"
Asui... slap!
"I said call me Tsu!" She said to the author.
Tsu walked up and showed her name."The rainy season hero Froppy!"
"That's delightful, so cute!" Midnight said, "A name like that seems like it would make you approachable!"
The crowd went wild for Tsu's hero name and chanted.
Kirishima went up with his hero name.
"The sturdy hero, Red Riot!" he exclaimed.
"So you're paying tribute to Crimson Riot I see!" Midnight said.
"Yeah! He's my idol!" Kirishima said.
"You have a lot to look up to with a name like this," Midnight said.
"Then I accept the challenge."
Izuku was looking at his board thinking of some ideas.
Flashback
Izuku rushed into the kitchen. He had a whiteboard with dozens of names he thought of. He rushed to Inko and jumped up and down.
"Mommy, mommy look!" Izuku said.
Inko turned around and smiled.
"You want me to help you pick out your hero name?" Inko asked.
"Yeah!" Izuku said.
"Alright. How about, All Might Jr? OH! I got one, All Mighty!" Inko said, "Or maybe Mighty boy. Or Mini Might!"
"Yea that's me!" Izuku said as he jumped up and down.
"Mighty man, or captain All Might," Inko said, "Oooh, what about Super All Might!"
"Super!" Izuku said.
"Oh I just know you'll be a great hero Izuku!" Inko said picking up Izuku.
'Those names did put a smile on my face when I was little,' Izuku thought, 'But now that I have my dad's quirk, I gotta set a good example.'
"Alright who's up next?!" Midnight asked.
Kaminari was thinking of a name but having difficulty.
"Damn, what can I do for a name?" he asked.
"Hey I got an idea for you Kaminari," Jiro said, "what do you think of using Jammingyay."
"Ooh like Hemmingway who wrote a farewell to arms," Kaminari said, "Fancy."
"No, you're strong and powerful," Jiro said holding her mouth, "But you always tend to… jam your brain!"
She started to laugh.
"Oh come on Jiro stop fucking with me!" Kaminari shouted.
Jiro went up with her hero name.
"The Hearing Hero, Earphone Jack!" she said.
"Oooh that's a good one," Midnight commented.
"The Taping Hero: Cellophane!" Sero said.
"The Tentacle Hero, Tentacole!" Shoji said.
"The Martial Arts Hero: Tailman!" Ojiro said.
"Sweets hero, Sugar Man!" Sato showed his name.
"Perfect," Midnight said.
"PINKY!" Mina yelled.
"Make those looks work for you girl!"
"I hope I can live up to this one," Momo said showing her hero name, "The Everything Hero, I'm Creati!"
"Creative!" Midnight said.
Momo went back to her seat and saw Yusuke struggling to come up with something.
"Hey Urameshi. You seem to be struggling." Momo said.
"Ugh. Is it that obvious? I can't think of a name to save my life!" Yusuke said.
"Why?" Momo asked.
"Its... complicated," Yusuke said, "Family drama with my father..."
"Oh. Well how about I help you!" Momo told him.
"Really?" he asked.
"Yeah! Let's try to come up with something creative." Momo said.
"Ok," Yusuke said, "Well if it helps, my quirk gives me the will to defend others with my power."
"Hmm. Okay, how about Guardian Spirit?" Momo asked.
"Or maybe Guardian Demon!"
Yusuke than came up with an idea with the names Momo thought of.
He then went up to the front of the class and shared his name.
"The spirit of justice: Willpower!" he said.
"I'm Willing to accept that name!" Midnight said
Next up was IIda. He was thinking about the hospital visit with his older brother. Tensei Iida has been in the hospital because of an accident with a villain. Because of the incident, his hero career had been cut short.
"I'm sorry brother. I cannot take the family hero name yet."
"I am Tenya," he said, showing his name..
"Are you sure?" Midnight asked.
"Yes," he answered, "I do have a name in mind but I need to prove myself."
Bakugo went up with his name.
"King Explosion Murder," he saida.
"I'm gonna say no to that one," Midnight said.
Ochako went up with her hero name to show to everyone.
"This is a name I thought of," Ochako said with a smile, "The rescue hero, Uravity."
"So adorable!" Midnight said, "Another example of a good hero name."
Izuku then went up with his hero name and shared it with the class.
"This has to be my name," Izuku said.
"You sure Yagi?" Ojiro asked.
"Back then I wasn't really fond of this name, but someone special to me helped turn the meaning around, and now I embrace it," he said, "This will be my hero name. The Symbol of Hope: Deku!"
Ochako smiled as she saw the name. Meanwhile Toshinori was going through some heroes that recruited him. One name came to mind and it surprised him.
"It can't be….." he said.
"LORD EXPLOSION MURDER!" Bakugo shouted.
"...That's basically the same damn thing," Midnight said, deadpanned.
