CH 27
"Jack, you better get changed"
"Yeah" then he started taking his BDU clothing off.
"Thor, Major Ferretti got my bracelet, he will push the button when they are all ready to be beamed up"
"O'Neill, what do you have to change for?"
"Well, we have to when we are meeting the leader of our country"
"I understand"
Sam watched Jack get changed; once done and his BDU clothing folded up and put in a corner, he looked at Sam then he put his hands in his pockets and pulled out two boxes.
"I hope they still fit" he opened the first box and pulled out Sam's wedding ring and slipped it onto her finger, then Sam did the same back.
"Yep, still fits" Sam said smiling.
Then Jack closed the box and put it in his pocket, then opened the other one and pulled out Sam's engagement ring and slipped it onto her finger. Then he closed the box and put in back in his pocket, then bent over and gave Sam a kiss, then they broke apart, they looked around.
"Ah, sorry sir, we didn't know Thor was going to beam us down" the President stood up from his desk and walked around.
"That's ok, Colonel; it is not every day this sort of thing happens" he said smiling then he shook their hands.
"Oh"
"Colonel, did you manage to find Adrian Conrad?"
"Yes sir… he's a Goa'uld. I've already spoken to General Hammond, he is going to get in contact with the Tok'ra."
"Good job, Colonel, and since we still got some time… you both are going to get you hair done… especially you, Colonel"
"I know sir but if I leave the mountain the NID catching me…"
"I understand" he walked over to the door and opened it and turned to them.
"My personal hairdresser will be waiting for you both" Jack pushed Sam's wheelchair to the door.
"Thank you, Mr President" Sam said.
"We will talk later" Jack pushed the wheelchair out and the door closed behind them.
"Colonel, Captain, if you will follow me" One of the men said.
Jack pushed the wheelchair as they followed the guy down to a room to see a man and a woman there. Once they were inside, the door closed.
"Colonel, Captain, shall we, now Captain can you stand up and walk?"
"Yes"
"Good, Colonel, can you help the captain please" Jack helped Sam to stand up and he pushed the wheelchair back a bit.
"Good, can you take your jacket off, we don't want it to get wet" Sam took her jacket off and passed it to Jack, then the woman walked over to her side.
"Can you follow me dear, and we can get your hair wet"
"Ah, ok"
Sam and the woman walked into the bathroom with a chair with a tilted back. She helped Sam into it, then she picked up a plastic covering and put it around Sam's neck and fastened it, then she helped Sam to lay back. Then she took the clips out of Sam's hair, then turned the taps on and checked the temperature before she started wetting Sam's hair.
The back of the chair was over a bath so the water would be going down the drain. The woman didn't say anything while she wet and shampooed Sam's hair, then rinsed it. Then she put conditioner in it and rinsed it. When done, she used a towel and put it through Sam's hair for a minute, then she put it down on a bench.
"We are finished"
Then she helped Sam up and walked back out into the room and over to a chair where she sat, then the woman turned to the Colonel who already got his jacket off.
"This way, Colonel" Jack follow the woman into the next room. Sam could see the guy combing Sam's shoulder length hair.
"How would you like your hair, done short or leave it long?"
"Long, Jack loves for me to leaving it long"
"Ok, I'll just trimmed the ends for you my dear; would like a fringe?"
"Yes thanks"
"Ok" when he finished combing, he started sorting Sam's hair and started trimming and cutting the fringe. While he was doing that, Jack and the woman returned. Jack sat down in the other chair and the woman started combing Jack's hair, then she got the barber's clippers out and started cutting Jack hair. By the time the woman finished cutting Jack hair, the guy finish cutting and trimming Sam's hair, then he put hers into a French plat. When done he removed the plastic sheet that was around Sam.
"There you go Captain"
"Thank you" then she turned and smiled when she saw Jack with his hair cut.
"Well, Sam, what do you think?"
"You look great"
"So do you… thank you," he said the last part when he looked at the woman.
"You're welcome"
Jack got up and he helped Sam up and over to the wheelchair, then he picked up Sam's jacket and helped her to put it on, and when she was ready he helped her back in the wheelchair. Then he put his jacket on and picked up both his and Sam's hat. He passed Sam hers, then they shook the couple's hands and thanked them once again before Jack wheeled her out of the room.
A few minutes later Jack wheeled Sam into the oval office to see Jacob in his dress blues looking at both Jack and Sam.
"Dad, when did you get back?"
"Not long after you were beamed up onto Thor's ship, Teal'c suggested that we try to dial the SGC once the gate was set up, so we did and we called George, he told me what was happening, so I returned"
"Oh, of course there would have been enough power to make a worm hole connection" Sam said. They looked at her when she said it.
"What?"
"Sam, your brain never sleeps"
"Funny, Jack"
Then there was a knock on the door, the President walked over and answered it, then he opened it to see General Ryan walking in. Both Jacob and Jack stood at attention, then they and Sam saluted which he did in return.
"At ease" they relaxed, then he shook Jacob's hand.
"Hi Jacob, good to see you again"
"You too, Michael, how is the family?"
"Growing"
"I bet they are" the chief of staff turned and looked at Jack and Sam, then shook their hands which surprised them both.
"Colonel, Captain, this is an honor to meet Earth heroes"
"Ah, thanks sir" Jack said.
"Since you both are here… Captain Carter in recognition of your work you have done in the past three and half years minus the eight months, it has given me the privilege to promote you to Major – congratulation, Major Carter"
He stepped forward with Jacob and they changed Sam badges, then they stepped back where Sam saluted General Ryan which he did in return.
"Congratulation, Major Carter"
"Thank you Mr President"
"I'm proud of you kiddo"
"Thanks Dad" when he gave her a hug then she looked up at Jack who was smiling, he bent over and gave her a kiss.
"Well done Major… Sam"
"Thanks Colonel…. Jack" then he straightened up.
"You know Major, if you keep up with the good work you will make Lieutenant Colonel in no time" the President said.
"Thank you sir" Sam said smiling.
"Shall we go and face the media?"
"Yes sir" then they walked out of the office with Jack pushing Sam.
"So, what are your plans when you two get back?" Jacob asked.
"Go and check out the house, sort out our furniture… nursery"
"Well, you will have plenty of babysitters on hand"
"We know" Sam said.
When they reached the room, Jacob, Jack and Sam stayed out in the corridor waiting while listening to what the President had to say.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I'm pleased to inform you and the country that Colonel O'Neill and Major Carter have been found safe and sound after their kidnapping over eight months go. They managed to escape and contact their friends and Major General George Hammond from NORAD at Colorado Springs of their escape. Their friends were about to fly out and meet both Colonel O'Neill and Major Carter at a location. Unfortunately they could not fly back to Colorado Springs because of Major Carter condition. As you all know, about a week ago that there was a firefight outside of Cheyenne Mountain. Colonel O'Neill and Major Carter were able to make it to the base where they knew they would be safe. However, the kidnappers had men watching the roads to the base and followed them and tried to shoot the tires before they reached the base. They managed to call ahead for backup. The reason why the media hasn't been told about what happened is because I was waiting to find out myself." He looked around the room.
"I learned from both Colonel O'Neill and Major Carter that senator Robert Kinsey was the leader for the group who is behind the kidnapping of the two Air Force officers and further more… There were several arrests connected to the kidnapping of both the Colonel and Major… some were from both Air Force and the Marines" the media was shocked to hear what the President just said.
"Five days ago Major Carter's brother and his family were kidnapped and held for ransom; they are now fine thanks to friends of Colonel O'Neill, who were able to rescue them, all I can tell you that is classified" He looked at them before carrying on.
"Two days ago there was an attempted kidnapping of both the Colonel O'Neill, Major Carter and her father, retired Major General Jacob Carter. From a civilian named Adrian Conrad, for what reasons we do not know, and we don't know at this time if there is any connection between Mr Conrad and Senator Kinsey. Because of what happened in the past eight months a new bill has passed congress… If any officer from the Air Force, Army, Marines and Navy who have been kidnapped by anyone from this country while working on top secret classified work will be sentenced to life in prison with no parole… Before I introduce you all to the three Air Force officers, I know that you know about the forced marriage between Colonel O'Neill and Major Carter… they will not be court marshaled as you all heard. Yes, Major Carter was Colonel O'Neill's second in command till fourteen months ago when she was transferred to Washington DC. The major's transfer back to NORAD was a week after they were married which they didn't know at the time since both Colonel and Major was away on R and R. As for what's going to happen to them now, I'll let you ask them. May I introduce to you Major General Jacob Carter" Jacob walked out and gave everyone a smile; he stood next to the chief of staff.
"Colonel Jonathan Jack O'Neill and his wife, Major Dr Samantha Carter"
Then Jack pushed Sam's wheelchair into the room. The photographers were taking photos of them.
"If you have any questions, please one at a time" then the media put their hands up. The President pointed to one and he stood up.
"Colonel O'Neill, Major Carter, are you two going to get your wedding annulled?" Jack stepped forward up to the podium.
"Sam and I talked about that… no, we will not, but we are planing on having a second wedding with family and friends at a later date" then he stepped back. The President did all the pointing for Jack and Sam. When a woman stood up:
"Major Carter, two questions, when did you get promoted and when are you due?" the President passed Sam a microphone.
"For your first question, I was promoted half an hour ago, and for your second question, I'm six months with triplets, and yes, Jack is the father" Then another person stood up:
"Major Carter, is it true that there are six other women who are also six months pregnant and are carrying yours and Colonel O'Neill's children?"
Sam turned to Jack in shock, then she turn the President. He turned and spoke to one of his agents, then he looked at Sam and gave her a small nod. Sam turned and looked at the media:
"First of all I would like to ask you a question… how did you know about that information?"
"From an informant, so is it true?" Jack stepped forward.
"Maybe it is true, maybe not, I would also like to know who told you this" Then four agents walked into the room and over to the reporter.
"I suggest you go with these men"
"So it is true," he said when he walked out the door with the four agents.
"I'm not saying, since I don't know what's going on, if it is true, it news to all of us"
There was one question after another for the next ten minutes. When the President looked at Sam she gave him a small nod. After the last question the President stepped forward.
"I'm sorry but that is all the questions for now, Major Carter needs her rest… traveling here tired her out, thank you" then they all turned and walked out of the room with Jack pushing the wheelchair.
"Sam, are you ok?" Jacob asked.
"Yeah… Jack, have you got that candy bar with you?"
Jack stopped and pulled out a chocolate candy bar and passed it to her, then he carried on pushing the wheelchair.
"Thanks" she unwrapped it and started eating it.
"Sam's sugar level must be low" Jack said, Jacob nodded.
When they walked back into the oval office and the door was close they all walked over and sat on the couch.
"Major Carter, if there is anything you need, please let me know"
"Yes sir… there is any chance of having batted fish bites, chicken nuggets, cheese cake, milk shakes and sweet chili sauce at the SGC?" he smiled at her.
"Cravings, Major?"
"Yes, sir"
"Sure, I'll sort something out"
"Thank you"
"May I ask why them?"
"Well fish bites with mayo and mustard sauce on top… chicken nuggets tomato ketchup, mustard sauce and sweet chili sauce mix together, milk shake well I need it for sugar and calcium. And cheesecakes, I love cheesecakes…. I could go for one right now"
"Which one, old fashion?"
"Nope, one with biscuit base and cream cheese filling and blue jello on top"
"I know the one… would you all like to stay for lunch as my honor guests?"
"Will there be cake?" Sam said they all smiled.
"What sort, Major?"
"Chocolate with white icing"
"Sure" he stood up and walked over and picked up the phone and ordered lunch, then he turned to Sam.
"Major, would you like French fries for lunch?"
"Wedges, if that is ok, Mr President" he nodded then went back to talk on the phone then he hung up and walked back and sat down again.
"Lunch will be in half an hour"
"Thanks, sir"
"Dad, what did you find out from that reporter?" Jack asked. Jacob had followed the four agents and the reporter out into the corridor.
"He knows about the SGC and he knows about Sam and the six women's pregnancy for three months, because he has seen the women and you"
"What, is he NID?"
"No, he was told it was an experiment and I got him to tell me who was that spoke to him… Senator Kinsey"
"That no good rat bastard… sorry sirs" Jack said.
"Experiment, did he say?"
"No, but he was able to get to one of the computers and download every thing… he didn't know about the kidnapping, he was in South Africa at the time for two months"
"Oh" then he pulled a pen drive out of his pocket and showed them it.
"It's all here"
"Mr President, I would like to look at what's on the that pen drive" Sam asked.
"Sure, you can use my laptop"
"Thanks sir" Jacob stood up and passed Sam the pen drive, then he push her over to the laptop where the President was putting in his password, then he moved his chair out of the way for Sam. When she was there, she plugged in the pen drive and did some typing then looked at what was there.
"This is going to take a while"
"We will leave you to it"
Then they walked back over to the couch and sat down and talked, leaving Sam to look over what was on the pen drive. When lunch was ready, Sam pulled the pen drive out and put it in her pocket before Jack wheeled her to the dinning room with the others.
