CHAPTER 27: THE NEW ADDITION

It's been four months since Kai and Inuyasha had captured Menomaru. In that time, Sesshomaru had ordered his finest architects to build military lodgings for his soldiers along the Eastern, Western, and Southern walls of his massive shiro. He had blueprints made so that everyone knew exactly what was going on and where everything was to go. Huge watch towers were built only two hundred feet apart that surrounded the shiro walls. In the surrounding areas of up to about five miles in each direction, more watch towers were built every five hundred feet apart.

Sesshomaru spared no expense. He made sure that his soldiers had very nice barracks with a dojo built inside each one. Very quickly, the surroundings of his shiro were becoming a city. Smiths' set up their businesses, along with traders and shops. In all honesty, Sesshomaru didn't really mind the idea, although he had wished that everything wasn't so close to home. He had let it go, figuring that it would probably be best to have as many loyal subjects so close to his home. He kept only his front gates open and some of his best warriors erected a very strong barrier around the shiro, encasing it completely.

Atreus made a schedule for his men that were to contribute to the barrier. More than twenty thousand men had volunteered. Every six hours, they would stand post along the walls and erect their connected barriers. Sesshomaru himself had more than two hundred and fifty thousand men in his army. All of which who were loyal to the Taisho Crest the bore on their armor. The crest itself was that of a white Inu under an indigo crescent moon and they wore black and silver armor with spikes the curled outward at the shoulders.

As always, Sesshomaru made sure that his soldiers were very well taken care of and even show himself to spar with them on occasion. He always kept his mask of indifference in place when around others that he did not consider family. Reason being is because he did not want his men thinking him growing soft or weak. His men respected him for the fact that he was willing to teach them. Even if it was only a little. Sesshomaru's power and influence began to grow to heights that even he did not see coming.

With Katsuro and Tomoe almost a year old and already started to walk, proposals from all kinds of different lords from different lands began to pour in by the dozens. Kagome, of course, didn't like it one bit saying that they were too young to be forced into an arranged marriage. Sesshomaru agreed. He did not want to force his sons into an engagement that they had no knowledge of and would most likely, eventually, regret. He would always respectfully decline in his response letters, stating that his sons were young and that he wanted them to be able to make the decision themselves when they were older. Of course, there was a couple of lords that didn't like his response and all Sesshomaru did was show up and flare his power, but only a fraction. He only did this to intimidate those who wanted to possibly oppose him because after what Menomaru had done, he was not taking any chances.

Of course, each lord that came face to face with Sesshomaru always backed down. Word had spread like wildfire at what he and Kagome had done to Menomaru. No one wanted the wrath of their Lord and Lady. Who could blame them?

"My Lord, are you going to patrolling the boarders of the West this coming week?" Atreus asked as he entered Sesshomaru's office with a deep bow. Sesshomaru looked up from a scroll and his eyes settled on him.

"No. Kagome will most likely give birth within the next couple of weeks, so I am needed here. She told me that she doesn't want to be alone when she does. Naturally I agreed, even though she wouldn't be alone." He said with a slight sigh and Atreus nodded.

"I understand, My Lord. Would you like for me to put a few groups together and have them patrol in your stead?" Atreus asked.

"Yes. I would like each to have, at least, fifty men and no less. The more the better." Sesshomaru stated as he looked back down to another proposal invitation. He deadpanned and inwardly growled. Atreus noticed and chuckled.

"Another proposal, I presume?" Atreus asked humorously and Sesshomaru glared at him. Atreus laughed.

"Forgive me, My Lord. I'm not laughing at you. I'm laughing at the fact that so many people are so power hungry that they would think you would agree to betrothal of your, no even one year old yet, sons." He stated and Sesshomaru huffed in agreement.

"Atreus, find Kagome and ask her to come here. I wish to spend time with her." Sesshomaru said as he tossed the scroll away. Atreus bowed deeply and left to find Kagome.

Kagome was in her personal gardens with Yuki and the twins. She sat comfortably on a make shift futon of pillows with her hands on her swollen belly as the child moved and kicked vigorously.

"You are quite active today, Little One. Mommy and Daddy love you so very much and can't wait to meet you..." Kagome whispered adoringly. As Atreus approached her, he heard her whispers and a fond smile lit up his face.

"My Lady, Lord Sesshomaru is requesting your presence in his study." He stated as his held out his hands for her. She took them and he gently, and slowly, pulled her to her feet. He looked down to her belly and his eyes sparkled. "May I, My Lady?" He asked, gesturing towards her swollen belly. She smiled brightly and nodded. He placed both his large hands on either side of her belly. He felt the pup move and his face softened even further. Without a word, he offered Kagome his arm and she took it, smiling at him.

They passed Inuyasha and Kikyo on their way to Sesshomaru's study. All four of them inclined their heads in respect towards each other but no words were spoken.

Kagome waddled into his study and she saw him at the open window gazing at the afternoon sky. She smiled at him and continued to waddle towards him. He turned to her and placed his hands on her belly, rumbling deep in his chest that caused his child to kick into his hand. He chuckled.

"It would seem that our pup has your fighting spirit, My Love." He told Kagome and leaned down to kiss her forehead. Her smile was radiant and she hummed with content without noticing. She leaned up, wrapping her arms around his neck, and nuzzling her face under his strong jaw. Such a submissive gesture made Sesshomaru's beast purr happily and he wrapped his arms around her, nuzzling into his mark on her neck. His cheek went to hers and nuzzled again.

She sighed happily and nuzzled back as he leaned into the window. They held each other, nuzzling, purring, and just enjoying each others company for a while.

Her ear was over his heart and she listened to the strong, steady thrum.

He noticed that she began to fall asleep, listening to his heartbeat, and a small smile made itself known on his lips as his eyes softened. He picked her up gently and made his way to their bedchambers. Servants bowed in respect as they passed with smiles on their faces at the sight of their lord carrying his lady. It was a domestic sight indeed.

Sesshomaru with all his very tall glory, carrying a small, heavily pregnant woman in his arms without a care in the world. No one could deny that he was very much a family man, even though his own mother was not affectionate and his father had been deceased for more than three hundred years.

Being alone can for so long can teach a man a few things. Loneliness is something that develops very quickly and lingers. As he began to reflect on his life and what he had done, he realized that all he really wanted was a family of his own. To love and be loved by someone for who he is, not what he is. Someone to see past all his many layers of ice. He looked down at his beautiful mate and happiness filled his heart. He had found what he was looking for for so long. Centuries of being alone made it all worth the wait of finding this woman in his arms. His wife...His mate for life.

He laid her down gently in their futon. She stirred slightly, looking up at him with sleepy eyes and a lazy smile appeared on her face. His responding small smile made her hum lazily as she stretched. She reached up and cupped his face gently. Pulling him down, their lips met in a soft kiss. Kagome flooded their bond with love and affection, causing Sesshomaru to purr deep in his chest.

Without breaking their affectionate kiss, he took his clothes off until he was only wearing thin hakamas. He pulled away as he slide into bed next to her, wrapping his arms around her and pulling her flush against him as much as he could with her protruding belly. With being pregnant with only one pup, she wasn't nearly as big as she was when she was pregnant with Katsuro and Tomoe.

Sesshomaru placed his large hand on her belly and kissed her neck, over his mating mark. She hummed with her lips soft on his cheek. He loved being so close to her. Spending time with her like this was always the best part of his day, other than spending time with his pups.

He knew that he still had a few things he had to do but right now, he couldn't care less.

Wanting to be closer to her, he pushed her yukata open to reveal her soft skin and swollen belly. Kagome's breasts stayed the same in size since they were still full of milk. She had decided to keep breastfeeding the twins until they were at least a year old. Of course Sesshomaru didn't mind. He quite enjoyed her milk as well while they were intimate. For the most part, he left her milk to his sons not wanting to be greedy. With Kagome so close to giving birth within the same year as Katsuro and Tomoe, her breasts just continued to produce.

Noticing Kagome's slight wince when her very hard nipples began to leak, he pulled them both together as much as he could and suckled them into his mouth. He growled deep in his chest when Kagome moaned at the relief he was providing her. Her milk was sweet, but not so sweet that it was overwhelming. Her hands found his hair and she pulled gently, causing him to growl his approval.

Sesshomaru felt his cock strain against the thin fabric of his hakama, it was almost to the point of painful. Kagome reached down and pulled his erection free, causing him to hiss as he pulled away from her breasts. Kagome threw her leg over his hip and lined his tip to her drenched folds. Their eyes met and his arm wrapped under her leg that was over his hip, pulling her hips closer to his.

The moment he felt his thick shaft slip deep into her depths, he grunted and Kagome moaned as she wrapped her arms around his neck. He laid his cheek on hers and began to move slowly in and out of her dripping folds.

"How is it that you are always so tight?" He asked breathless. He could feel her constricting around him, making it somewhat difficult to move within her because of how tight she was. She couldn't say anything because of the pleasure he was giving her. She loved the feeling of her walls stretching around him, being filled to the brim.

"What I wouldn't give to watch as you thrust inside me..." It was more a statement than a question.

"That can be arranged, My Love." He growled as he pressed against her occupied womb and panted.

Her arms tightened around him when he picked up his pace. A slap of skin could be heard when their hips connected, causing Sesshomaru's name to fall from Kagome's lips seductively. Her moans and mewls were like music and only encouraged him to move deeper.

Kagome's release hit her hard and she gushed her succulent nectar all over Sesshomaru's thick and heavy with seed shaft. He threw his head back with a deep growl as he spilled deep inside her walls with a force that made them both gasp. They could both feel each time his seed would spray against her cervix with scorching heat.

They were both a little surprised when he continued to spill for several moments and by the time he finished, Sesshomaru could hardly breathe.

"That's never happened before." Kagome said a little confused. Not that she didn't enjoy the feel of his seed inside her. She was just surprised that he had came so much. More than he usually does which was still more than normal.

Sesshomaru couldn't say anything as he panted, trying to calm himself. "I don't know why that happened but if I'm honest, I wouldn't mind if it happened again." He panted and Kagome giggled.

"Come, My Love. Let us bathe and spend time with our boys." Kagome said gently and Sesshomaru kissed her forehead.

LATER THAT EVENING

"Lord Sesshomaru! Lord Sesshomaru!" Jaken called as he ran down the hallway, sliding to a halt in front of Sesshomaru's study. Sesshomaru's eyes casually found their way to Jaken and he lifted an elegant brow. The small movement telling Jaken to speak before he lost his patience.

"Milord! It is Lady Kagome! Her waters just broke and has now gone into labor!" Jaken said hurriedly. Sesshomaru stood instantly and not even a moment after he heard Kagome screaming in pain.

In an instant, Sesshomaru was at her side, one arm around her waist and his opposite hand holding hers in order to help her walk. Her labor escalated very quickly and her contractions were only about a minute apart.

"The pup should not be coming so quickly, Kagome. Is something wrong?" He asked, clearly worried.

"Nothing is wrong, My Love. Sometimes this can happen after having children already. My body already knows what to do since it has had to before. Plus, we had sex today. Sex can help women go into labor much faster than when they don't. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if I am close to crowning." She hissed that part as another fierce contraction ripped through her. She squeezed Sesshomaru's hand tight but he paid no mind. She was about to give him another child and he was excited.

Finally reaching their bedchambers, Sesshomaru sat down on their futon and leaned back. The midwife had already laid out furs for the birth and Sesshomaru held his hands out to her in order to help her settle against him. When she did, the midwife went to check Kagome's progress and gasped when she realized that her lady was indeed already crowning.

Sesshomaru pulled Kagome's legs up and around his as she gripped his knees, squeezing tightly.

"Alright, My Lady. You have done this before. When you get your next contraction, push with everything you have because I can already see the head." Kagome nodded, her face tight and her brows were furrowed as deep as they could go. She felt a particularly strong one and pushed as hard as she could while trying to breathe and not scream. Sesshomaru's hands were over hers and he whispered words of encouragement in her ear as she continued to push their pup out.

Kagome felt the head slip out with ease but next was always the hard part. With another contraction and another hard push, she felt her baby's shoulders pass and finally slide out. A breath of relief left her as she slumped against Sesshomaru, panting harshly. Sesshomaru kissed her cheek as they heard their new pups cry when the midwife started cleaning the pup of birth fluids. The midwife's assistant cleaned Kagome and gently pulled the afterbirth from her.

"You have a beautiful baby girl, My Lord and Lady." Said the midwife as she wrapped the girl in warm furs and handed her to her lady. Kagome and Sesshomaru got more comfortable and he looked down at his new daughter. She had his signature silver hair but Kagome's beautiful sapphire blue eyes. A crescent moon upon her brow with demon markings that were identical to his own. Other than that, the girl looked just like Kagome.

Kagome pulled her yukata open and the small pup latched immediately, causing both parents to smile brightly.

"She's beautiful...Just like you, My Love." Sesshomaru whispered and placed his large hand behind his daughters head.

"She needs a name." Kagome said gently and Sesshomaru hummed.

"Sumiye." He said tenderly and Kagome smiled at him.

"'Bright mind'. I love it, Sesshomaru." She said adoringly and he kissed her gently.
