SCP: Birth Of The Legends
Chapter 26: A Bad Memory.
[A/N: I must apologize for any mistake again mainly with the commas]
Yasaka crossed her arms, with a tail pointed at the front. Adam and Jennifer advanced, he did it in a rather childish manner.
"Das ist keine tür," Jennifer said looking at the huge oval stone.
"Es ist...wahrscheinlich," Adam replied with her hands on his hips.
Kuriho and Serafall were confused as well, they couldn't sense any trace of magic in it. For the devil, it was the first time that she would get to see the source of the power of Kyoto.
Yasaka smirked and infused her hand with orange energy.
Adam's attention was stolen by it, it was like a flame that menaced to consumed everything but was so charming to see.
"You're falling not just for her but for her energy too, you're helpless," Carmillia commented casually. Of course, she was making fun of him.
The Empress looked with curiosity at Adam's action."Is he totally hypnotized by my energy?"
To prove if what she was thinking was correct, she drew a circle with her hands.
Adam was in trance, he followed her hands with his head; something inside him was greatly attracted by the destructive yet peaceful nature of her energy.
"Such beauty, such appealing meal," he said while licking his lips.
Yasaka blushed intensely but recovered quickly. "What a bold child."
Kuriho focused on hearing Adam's thoughts and feeling his emotions.
Devour.
Embrace her.
Power.
Adam shook his head and looked at the ground, he crossed his arms around his chest and rocked his body back and forth. He heard his own thoughts and was ashamed of wanting something sexual with Yasaka having already Kuriho and Jennifer.
"Don't worry, I will purge those thoughts with my body," Kuriho said to Adam telepathically, she almost laughed when Adam's mind was occupied by fantasies of her and shame for having them.
"I guess that you will just touch this stone, your highness."
After saying that, Adam put his hand on the stone but what he didn't see was that it was at centimeters of an Ashidaka spider.
"Adam, get your hand off that stone," Jennifer warned. "Slowly."
The blond rose an eyebrow but totally froze up when he felt something climbing upon his hand, the felt alone wasn't enough to scare him but the thought of that being a spider was more than enough.
He slowly turned his head toward his hand to see if his fear was correct.
It was!
"HELP! Anyone! Salem, you useless goddess!"
"Come on! It's just a spider, shake your arm, and it'll fall off or just squish it against the stone."
Carmillia's words sounded very tempting but an uneasy Sylph's tantrum made him reconsider.
"NO! We can't kill an innocent animal, you're a big boy, control yourself. As the Spirit of Wind, I can't let you murder this critter."
"Though it is shameful, I agree with Sylph," Gaia said.
"Earth and Wind are inseparable fr...hey!"
Adam was about to make a choice but the spider decided that she wasn't happy on his hand.
"AAAAAH! It's on my forearm!"
"What are you waiting for?! BURN IT WITH HOLY FIRE!"
"No! We can't kill an innocent spider. Right, Gaia?"
"It's even more shameful a second time, but I agree with Sylph."
Adam was about to take some violent actions when he heard laughs, loud laughs.
Jennifer, Kuriho, Serafall, and Yasaka were cracking up!
"I'm sorry~, your thoughts were so funny that I couldn't help myself and shared them with these ladies," Kuriho confessed.
It wasn't done with bad intentions, but her nature as a fox made her playful and cheerful so when she heard Adam's conversation with the spirits she couldn't contain her instincts.
Kuriho walked to Adam and smiled tenderly.
"I'm sorry, Yaegiva. I'll take care of this evil predator," she said while drawing near her hand to the spider.
The spider felt the danger and rose her front legs to show her "fangs", this action almost made Adam faint.
In a quick movement, Kuriho grabbed the arachnid and squished its head; following this, she separated the head from the body and...
Yum
She bit one of the spider's legs off!
The women shared a surprised expression; with the exception of Yasaka, she was a fox too and she remembered the golden times when she had to hunt to survive.
She sometimes ate one or two insects or the occasional rodent, it was an animalistic impulse and almost an urge as if their fox side was telling her that it still was there. Of course that she never does it if someone else is watching.
That would damage her image as Empress, just imagining the rumors or the titles of the newspapers made her shiver.
'The strange habit of our Empress, our highness has a soft spot for raw food.'
That wouldn't be good!
Serafall had an expression of slight disgust while Jennifer was completely neutral.
"I have eaten a lot of animals to survive," she explained to avoid the question.
Adam almost cried before throwing himself at his heroine and embracing her tightly.
"Sorry, this doesn't bother you?" the kumiho asked.
"Well, not really. I have eaten all sort of things from tuna to snakes."
Kuriho caressed Adam's head with her free hand, the other was stretched to Yasaka.
"Would you like some?"
As a fellow fox woman, Kuriho knew how it felt to struggle against their most animalistic instincts and how annoying it could be.
Serafall raised her hands. "I won't judge."
Yasaka nodded and ripped one of the spider's legs and ate it.
Adam copied her and did the same. "Crunchy, it's like chicken and cod at the same time."
The blond turned towards the stone and saw a spider. "Prepare to be my meal, eight-legged demon."
"NOOOOOO!" Sylphide cried out. "You already ate one!"
Adam frowned and ripped another leg from the spider.
"As long he keeps following the rules of nature it is fine, I guess," Gaia commented not really caring about the topic.
Kuriho was waiting for the moment where her food runs out of legs, the thorax was the tastiest zone of the spider.
Yasaka and Adam took the last leg at the same time.
"Sorry, but this is mine," he said.
"I don't think so, my hand grabbed it first," Yasaka replied.
Like a couple of children, they started to pull the leg.
"Mine."
"Mine."
"Mine."
"Be a gentleman and hand it over."
"Be a mature adult and hand it over."
Jennifer subtly facepalmed, Serafall put three fingers on her lips trying not to laugh.
"Can you two finish already?" Kuriho questioned wanting to eat her prey, that was like seeing a fox and a cat fighting over food.
Yasaka frowned, she wanted that leg!
The Empress smirked and with her other hand caressed the inner side of Adam's forearm, this caused Adam to blush violently and loosened his grip resulting in Yasaka's victory.
"I win~" she declared before eating the leg. "Now, let's open the door."
Adam felt how his heart was hitting his chest, that short caress was enough to turn him on in a second.
Yasaka infused her hand with her energy and touched the stone.
"So, this is going to take us somewhere?" Adam asked to get rid of his arousal.
His question was answered by a bright light.
Jennifer and Serafall grunted, the divine and pure energy harmed them a little, which was natural for them due to their nature as dark beings.
Kuriho simply ate her spider.
Adam didn't voice the pain that he was enduring; his skin felt as if it was melting and vaporizing away, his eyes were burning as well.
Each second he could feel getting weaker and weaker, every system in his body was being damaged due to the filtration of that harmful energy inside the blood.
The damage didn't matter too much, his body healed at the same instant it was inflicted but the pain was annoying.
Everything stopped, it shouldn't have last more than a few seconds but his brain felt it like decades.
"What a wonderful place," Kuriho said in awe.
There were in a huge cave with vegetation, they were in a "bridge" of natural stone with flowing crystal water on both sides. At the end of the bridge, there was a door that was exuding raw spiritual energy; it came out from the door and "shattered" in dozens of particles.
Something beautiful and hypnotic to see.
The women turned around attracted by Adam's panting.
"I can run a lot of kilometers, bench press seventy kilograms repeatedly, fight with broken bones, and yet a mere light exhausts me."
Adam's tone was accompanied by anger, he didn't notice it. Something in that place, maybe the eerie atmosphere or the purity of the place but something was making him angry.
The women were alarmed by the steam that Adam's body was liberating.
"It wasn't me and I felt it, however, let's eat her up. I'm talking about the energy."
Adam raised his hands and pointed to the front. "Let's get this over with."
"It's not that simple, gods will determinate if you're worthy."
Adam sighed at Yasaka's words. Of course that it wasn't going to be easy, it never was.
"Well, I am ready, nothing will stop me from getting the power I need."
Yasaka touched the door and said something in old Japanese, none of the people there understood a word.
Adam understood the words "door" and "worthy", his knowledge about the language was too limited.
The door opened allowing everyone to pass through.
Where they were now was, at the lack of words, beautiful.
The place was shaped in such a way that gave the impression that one was inside a dome.
Unlike the bridge of before, the stone there looked polished, and the small vegetation didn't grow too much. Small streams of water made a peaceful sound; that was a place where anyone could find peace and calmness.
In the middle of the place, there were three pedestals with gemstones floating a few centimeters above them.
A ruby, moonstone, and an aquamarine.
Adam got closer and read the inscriptions on the pedestals.
Gem of the Sun (Ruby).
Gem of the Moon (Moonstone).
Gem of the Sea (Aquamarine).
The women got closer and inspected them carefully, they were emitting an almost imperceptible divine aura.
"These are the trials that will prove your worth, each one of them will test you in different ways," Yasaka informed while changing her clothes from a normal kimono to the ones worn by mikos.
"What kind of ways?" he inquired.
"I can't tell you, you must be unprepared and face them as they appear. That way your nature will show up."
Adam shrugged, that was a good point. "I'll pick the ruby. Will you all be alright?"
The blond doubted, his relationship with Kuriho escalated and Jennifer seemed to want to love him too.
The thought of not having them around made him feel uneasy.
"William, we will be fine, don't worry," Jennifer said with a brief smile. "We have matters to discuss so don't leave us waiting."
Adam exhaled heavily before grabbing the ruby.
"Oh shit, not this again," he complained, his hand covered his mouth when he noticed the bad word that just came out from him.
"Adam!"
The mentioned felt genuine fear when he saw Jennifer's angry face, she hated hearing him swearing.
Fortunately, destiny wanted Adam alive.
The ruby brightened intensely forcing everyone to close the eyes.
When the light disappeared, Adam was nowhere to be seen.
"Where did he go?" Kuriho questioned with her arms crossed. "Will he be alright?"
Yasaka nodded. "Now, we only need to have faith in him."
"Wow, wow, you didn't put the first member of my peerage into a death game, right?"
Serafall was concerned, if something happens to him she wouldn't...The Foundation wouldn't be happy.
Jennifer remained quiet and calmed, she was good at controlling her emotions. That didn't mean that she wasn't about to have a heart attack.
"Greg, you better come back."

Adam blinked twice, feeling dizzy he kneeled to recover.
"My brain is killing me, where am I?"
He stood up and scanned his surroundings.
All that he could see was crystal water, in fact, he was standing on it. Judging by the color of the sky was dawn.
Adam felt an eerie atmosphere, divine and pure in nature; it was making him feel a little uncomfortable.
"Masaru?" a charming female voice interrogated.
Adam turned around and was unable to speak a word to the most beautiful woman he ever saw in his life.
Long black hair that fell to her ankles, honey brown eyes, and ivory skin.
Her slanted eyes, thin eyebrows, small nose, and lips gave her a unique beauty hard to describe.
Her body wasn't as voluptuous as Kuriho's or Yasaka's but it was shapely, which gave her a vibe of purity instead of erotism.
She was wearing a miko kimono and her feet were bare.
Adam kneeled before her, it was an impulse and almost an urge as if he owned her respect. Well, he kind of did; he knew who was she.
"Amaterasu-sama," he greeted. "My name is Adam William Gregory Rose, apologies if my presence here is an annoyance."
The Goddess of the Sun smiled at him and bowed slightly.
"You're a Rose, I suppose that you are a descendant of Masaru."
Adam decided to ignore his paranoia and distrust, he was before the supreme goddess herself.
"I am, one of his great-grandsons, the other one is Adrien, my twin brother."
"I remember now, he and your father are powerful individuals."
Adam remained silent, talking or merely hearing about them awakened a whirlwind of emotions that he was unaware of.
Grudge, for all the beatings and stress that his father put him through. Physical and mental, having to kill an armed man who tried to abuse a little girl.
That was the first time that he killed another human, his selfish and evil actions softened the blow but despite it, he killed a man by shoving a knife into his eye.
Jealous, of the bond between his father and siblings.
Respect, of the warrior that they are.
Abandonment, for the way his father walked away that day.
"It seems that there are a lot of things troubling your mind, youngling."
Adam shook his head. "it's nothing to worry about."
The Goddess stared at him serenely, Adam blushed and looked at the water.
"You must be certain of it."
"..."
"Well, why did you accept to do the trials?"
"Power," he answered lifting his head to stare directly at her eyes.
Amaterasu hardened her look but Adam did the same; the deity knew how greedy humans could be and what they could do to achieve their selfish goals.
"Tell me your reason," she demanded.
"I don't want to feel helpless anymore, I want to not face death again, I want to protect the people close to me," Adam confessed, he almost cried but that wasn't the moment nor the place for that.
Amaterasu relaxed her gaze, she was able to feel the truth in those words.
He was just a scared and angry child raise by and for violence, marked by brutality and loss yet his motivation was pure.
"I'll allow you to continue, Adam-san."
Adam nodded and stood up. "I'm ready."
Amaterasu smirked and disappeared without a trace.
The entire place changed in a blink.
The water turned into planks of ebony wood tainted by blood, the sensation of infinity vanished as decayed concrete walls rose from the nothingness, the hypnotic orange sky was blocked by a vertiginous ceiling.
Adam's body froze in fear, there was no day in which he doesn't remember that place.
Moans, chanting, grunts, and screams of pain and joy in equal parts echoed in the hall where Adam was standing.
Involuntary he embraced himself as if that would protect him from the bad memories.
"No more! Aaah~!" A woman screamed in pain and pleasure.
Adam swallowed his own saliva, it felt like sand.
"We're here with you, be brave and don't fear the past," Zapphire, the spirit of lightning, said to calm Adam down.
He shook his head, she was right.
His fear won't stop him from taking what is rightfully his. He had experienced the same nightmare hundreds of times, it won't get in his way.
Breathing the fear out, he started walking towards the screams.
Each step was heavier than the previous, his heart pumped blood faster and his muscles were trembling.
The sounds got louder as he drew closer to the source.
"Adam, don't look, please d-aah~!"
He stopped right beside the stone threshold. "I'm sorry, Kaz."
Adam gathered all his mental strength before entering.
The sight was the definition of madness and cruelty.
People wearing scarlet robes and chanting in unknown languages around a circle on the floor where all kinds of creatures were satiating their lust and sadism with a woman.
Silky light brown hair once clean now was covered in a slimy substance, one of her beautiful green eyes was severely damaged and her delicate features were slightly deformed by the abuse it suffered.
Her pale skin had diverse injuries over its surface, bruises, bites, cuts, and marks of suckers.
Her breasts were bleeding as a result of claws grasping them, marks of suckers around her waist, and her hips showed almost black bruises.
Her gluteuses had scorches with the shape of hands.
Adam deviated his sight trying to not see anything more but found another unpleasant sight.
Himself crucified, his limbs tied to the cross by barbed wire.
"Our Lord will be pleased by your sacrifice, we thank you," said one of the "priests".
Kassandra made an inhuman effort to kneel and smirked. Adam, clenched his teeth and fists when he noticed her swollen belly.
All of his anger was at two seconds from exploding.
No, it was just a memory, he had it every night. He had to keep calm.
"There are...a lot of ways to...have babies with a woman...rape is not one of them."
Adam smirked, even in such a horrific situation she was sarcastic and rebellious. So strong.
"You will be the vessel for the children of the daughters of our Lord."
Kassandra pointed at the diverse beasts around her. "Who's the father? The wasp, the deep one, the tentacles?"
"All that rebellion will be crushed and you will break."
"You are jealous," she said while getting back on her feet.
"..."
"Even these ugly-ass monsters have more chances to bang a pretty girl than you, maybe that is the reason for your idiocy. Jerking off wasn't enough anymore I see."
Adam smiled. "That is my cousin."
Just then he realized that he was invisible. Of course, he was, that was a mere memory.
More importantly than the past, that was surely a test so better to stay as calm as he could and analyze.
The young crucified Adam had a smirk too but an empty look. "I will rip and tear your bodies, I'll-"
Suddenly, everything changed.
Now, a bulky demon of pure darkness was in front of him.
Almost three meters tall, two horns pointing backward, two spheres of red energy that were slanted to emulate the silhouette of eyes, a rift filled by fangs, five-fingered hands with claws sharper than any sword, and a "spear-shaped" tail.
Nothing on that entity was very recognizable, one could just assume its appearance since it was a being made of pure darkness.
Its arms held a dead Kassandra with a small smile on her face.
Behind the Demon, numerous women, men, and children were staring and showed their respect for their savior and sadness by the death of the woman.
"How to forget it, this was the first time you used my power after I got into your body."
Adam shook his head. "What's the point of this?"
He spun his body as if he was dancing; that kind of childish act was what helped him to cope with those bad memories.
"Let's just keep going, Empress Yasaka said that you had to be unprepared so just deal with the situation as it develops."
Adam nodded at Rayane's advice.
Suddenly, the place changed back to its former state.
Adam looked around in confusion and crossed his arms when he realized where he was.
"I was starting to get used to the blood and labyrinthic halls."
"Brace yourself, master, here it comes," Kenkyo warned, she did her best to hide the pity on her voice. As he other spirits, she was linked to Adam's mind and she knew how he felt when someone had pity for him.
The environment changed again, this time he was in a dusty and bad-looking basement.
"This is...Angola."
That wasn't the first time that Adam hated his good memory.
"What did you do?!" a girl cried out in Portuguese. "You killed him."
Adam cursed and turned around to see the scene.
His young self on top of a "soldier".
"Are you alright?" young Adam asked in a cold manner.
"He is my dad! You killed him!" the girl recriminated before bursting into tears. "Monster!"
The girl ran upstairs and young Adam just stood up, a single tear came out from his eye but it was wiped quickly.
"A monster is what this world needs."
The place changed back to the infinite lake and beautiful dawn.
Adam crossed his arms.
He had no regrets, killing a father that abused his daughter was, in his eyes, the right thing to do. Sometimes, the pay for following one's sense of justice was high, that day he lost the only friend he ever had besides Jennifer.
"That was the price to free her."
Adam closed his eyes to meditate, his friend was happier now he was sure of it.
"My condolences to you."
The blond opened his eyes to see Amaterasu, he blinked to contain the tear that was menacing to fall off.
"Thank you very much."
The Goddess walked toward him and held his shoulders; having her supreme beauty at such a short distance was kind of relaxing and arousing.
"What am I thinking?!"
"Too late, boy, already heard you," Carmillia said. Seeing him ashamed again was a relief, the flow of negative emotions from before scared her, she almost could confuse him with someone suicidal.
Maybe that was the case, considering that he now could punish himself as much as he wanted.
"You controlled yourself in front of your worst fear and you seek to protect the innocent at any cost, even when your a being of darkness and violence."
"I'll use as much violence as it's necessary to save innocent lives."
"You will have my blessing, I'll watch your performance with interest."
Abruptly, a blinding light forcing him to open his eyes.

Jennifer was the first in throwing herself at Adam and trapped him in a deadly hug.
"We saw everything, I'll protect you," she declared with a slightly cold tone but also very concerned.
"You can count with my arms too!" Kuriho said almost crying before embracing Adam.
"I can't be a good Mistress if I let you angsted," Serafall said just before joining as well.
Yasaka crossed her arms, she was struggling against her motherly instinct to embrace him too. It was just that he was in such pain, she couldn't leave him like that.
The Empress sighed and joined to the hug.
Adam's face turned red instantly, he almost could feel their breasts against his torso and their sweet scent.
"Ladies, I'm dizzy, and...you're pressing your bodies against me," Adam tried to say in a calm manner but his voice betrayed him with its trembling.
There was no way of escaping from that comfy prison, soon enough he relaxed and decided to enjoy it. What kind of man wouldn't love to be in his situation?
Jennifer blushed and separated a little from him. With her eyes, she pointed downward and bit her lip.
Adam didn't understand at the moment but realized that he felt his pants tighter in the zone of the crotch.
"WHAT?! WHY?!"
"You're a healthy young man, four beautiful and voluptuous women are holding you tightly, their scent is awakening your normal-for-your-age libido, and let's face it, you can't get the wonderful sensation of Kuriho's body out of your mind."
Adam cursed at the accuracy of Sylphide's words.
Kuriho's cheeks acquired a cute pink tinge, and she embraced Adam even more tightly. She made sure to show him a mischievous grin.
"Come on, Jenny, it's your chance to gain terrain on his heart and mind. I'll get you some privacy," Kuriho told the blonde through telepathy. She wasn't messing with her, she was serious.
Jennifer separated from Adam, it was shameful to admit but her brain really considered the proposal.
No! Her first time must be magical.
Straddling him in the darkness and solitude of the forest, with their moans and obscene sounds echoing in the night.
She shook her head to get rid of the lewd thoughts.
The rest of the women already let Adam go and were speaking to him offering their support.
Kuriho was a little far from them and was staring at Jennifer, her face was completely red because she saw Jennifer's fantasy.
She would give him her virginity in a different place.
Kuriho magical first time would be straddling him slowly on the beach, slowly making him melt in pleasure and confess her love since they were united for life from there on.
"I'm fine, I just need to end these trials," Adam said with a trembling voice. "I can't disappoint the Supreme Goddess."
Adam turned around to hide the reaction of his body. He was about to touch the next gemstone to face the next trial when he realized something.
"How did you see my memories?" he questioned turning his head to see them.
The women rolled their eyes suspiciously and coordinately said...
"You'll know soon."
Adam frowned, he hated the intrigue.
"Alright, keepers of secrets. I'm going to drain my stress from my trauma by-"
Serafall grinned, it was her turn to mess with him. "Doing such a thing in front of four ladies."
A big question mark appeared above Adam's head. "Such a thing?"
"You know~" the maou kept going. "What young people do to relax."
Adam turned around to face them.
He hadn't too much experience with what was generally considered fun; his childhood was just studying, training, read a lot, traumas, more training...He had no idea of fun outside manga and fighting.
But music and meditation were fun too, weren't they?
"Meditation?"
The women blinked twice in confusion, well, Yasaka and Kuriho didn't.
The golden kyubi used to meditate to control her energy and Kyoto's; someone with a huge power like hers needed to learn how to control it always or there could be great consequences.
The white kumiho used to do it too; her mental powers needed a huge amount of concentration and self-control, otherwise, the people around her could suffer the consequences.
Jennifer simply indicated him with her hand to keep going with his objective.
Adam turned around again, now there were two gemstones, two trials.
"What should I pick?"
Moon or Sea, they probably were completely different challenges.

[...]
?, another universe.
Jonathan Rose put a knee on the ground and looked down from the cliff.
"Master, this wasteland is filled with nothing that may be of your interest."
The man turned his gaze to the Hound of Tindalos; since he subdued it, its behavior became more docile and respectful.
Despite Jonathan's distrust, the truth was that the hound respected him for his power. There was nothing more important for them than strength.
The stronger rule, the weak obey.
Those were the rules of nature.
Although, its respect didn't just originate from that but for the good treatment that he had with it.
He didn't treat it as a slave but as a companion.
For the hound, being treated as an equal and respectfully was new and felt nice.
"I wouldn't say so, there a group of space marines, that is how this kind of soldiers are named, right?"
"Yes. Why would they be of your interest?"
"They aren't regular ones, my shadows and familiars have been spying on the Imperium. You did it as well."
The hounds of Tindalos had the ability to travel to any point in space and time and use corners to materialize themselves; they entered in a special dimension independent of any other universal laws.
Using this dimension, they could travel through the nothingness and go to other multiverses.
When they got closer to a regular dimension bounded to universal laws such as time, they were able to interact with the material dimension, see and hear whatever was near before coming out from the corner and satiate their hunger.
This last ability was what Jonathan used to gather information.
He made appear binoculars of high technology and looked into the horizon.
"Almost every Astartes is indoctrinated and basically brainwashed to be loyal to the Imperium and its values, yet they are talking about a Blood God."
Astartes, superhumans created through bioengineering, trained for combat, and indoctrinated to fight for the Imperium of Man.
They wore bulky power armor and wielded powerful weaponry, their commitment should be considered a weapon too.
Jonathan had no knowledge about their abilities, that's why he was there. With luck, some of them would accept to follow him.
A normal Astartes would have been too hard to convince or deceive but the ones who were marching toward him weren't normal ones.
Their armor was red, with the mark of one of the Chaos Gods on the shoulder plate and horned helmets.
"What are you planning, master?"
"We going to need them as security guards, once the ritual is complete we'll be in the nothingness itself and creatures from other multiverses will be attracted to us."
Those space marines were getting too close, the sound of their heavy steps could be heard beneath the cliff.
"I see, how will you convince them to join you?"
"I can feel their bloodlust, I can use it."
"Shall I go with you?"
"No, stay here. I'll take care of them."
Jonathan stored his binoculars with magic and jumped off from the cliff. In the middle of the air, he infused his body with the power of the elements and activated his Aura.
He used a gust of wind to do a curve before landing to reduce his speed and avoid unnecessary damage to his aura.
Jonathan was not a fool or arrogant, he threw himself into the group because he was certain that his current power would be enough.
They were at least ten of those space marines; unlike the ones he saw with his familiars, they wielded melee combat weapon and there were no firearms in their hands except for a powerful-looking handgun.
The Chaos Space Marines stopped their march and analyzed for a second the person in front of them.
A blond man with blue eyes and a beard, wearing some kind of black and white power armor.
It clung to his body tightly to accomplish its duty as an exoskeleton; it had plates that imitated the form of the muscles of the torso, the legs were covered by the same kind of plate but made to fit the user's legs perfectly.
There were rigid plates all over its surface to add protection, there were exceptions like the abdomen, inner thighs, and calves.
What couldn't be seen were the artificial fibers that worked as second muscles for the user, incrementing his physical attributes.
It also covered the chin and the occipital area.
Something that was obviously no part of the suit was the military harness with a sheathed katana.
[A/N: If you need a clearer image search "Jetstream Sam" in Google images]
"Who are you?" asked one of the Chaos Space Marines, the one in the front.
It was a language that Jonathan didn't understand but the power of water took care of translating.
"Just someone with a proposal."
Jonathan could feel the violence that those space marines exuded, it was perfect.
"What can you offer us? You can't make the voices stop."
"Maybe I can help."
"No, the voices order us to kill and they won't stop until we satiate their desire."
Jonathan smirked at the idea of finally see the fabled Space Marines in action.
"Let's do this as warriors, if I best you all in combat you'll accept me as your new leader."
"We just are loyal to Kranon the relentless," the space marine said with a tone that sounded offended. "We will shed your blood."
"Let me change the offer then, if I best you all in combat you will take me to your supreme leader."
The member of Crimson Slaughter increased his grip on the chain axe and decided to obey the voices in his head.
"Blood for the Blood God, skull for the skull throne!"
The rest of them roared and readied for the battle, since there was just a man in front of them it won't be a battle at all more like a competition to claim his blood first.
Jonathan unsheathed his sword and got into the Chudan no Kamae stance.
"Okay, let's dance."
The plates beside his ears moved to unite and form a kind of mask to cover the lower half of his face.

Atlas, Remnant.
"This is more Weiss' place."
"We sorry, Miss Xiao Long, we ran out of fire dust."
Yang grunted before the soldier's words; the cold and she weren't good friends.
The blonde wasn't too happy, she was sleeping placidly when Iroonwood called her saying that was a matter of urgent nature. Of course that she swore a little before ending the call.
And there she was now, in the middle of nowhere (well, it was Solitas), freezing in a facility that belonged to the Foundation.
She was wearing proper clothes; a light brown trench coat, white pants, black gloves, and boots.
Her aura helped her to stay warm, she learned to respect normal people.
Surviving was really hard without the enhancements that aura gives; no super strength, no special powers, nothing to shield the body against damage. In the case of monster girls and Faunus, they normally were stronger and more durable than humans considering that some of them have physical traits of certain animals.
Humans without any kind of power that struggled against the elements and fought creatures absurdly stronger than them, were worthy of being named warriors.
"Here, Miss Xiao Long, they are waiting for you."
Yang nodded at the soldier before opening the metallic door.
That was the area of Research and Development of the military branch; at that time everyone was taking a break from creating all kinds of weapons, with the exception of two scientists and...
"Mom?" Yang muttered perplexed. "I thought that you were looking for Johnny."
Raven Branwen almost threw herself at Yang to embrace her, some months have passed since the last time they saw each other. She wasn't a person who showed too openly her feelings, especially in front of others but after what she experienced almost witnessing Yang's end was enough to not just scare her to death but to awaken her inner mother.
"Yang," she simply greeted.
The blonde didn't mind her cold answer, she knew her mother too well. "So, what's this about? I was sleeping in the warmth of my bed."
The scientists turned around and took a kind of rifle from their table and handed it over to Yang.
The brawler took the weapon and inspected it.
It was similar in silhouette to an M4, there were no iron sights nor chambers where the bullet would slip into ready to be shot. There was no barrel at all, if what she was seeing was one then could be named a triangular-shaped barrel, which had a kind of plasma inside it.
The only things that remained as a recognizable part of a rifle were the buttock and pistol grip, the magazine more than that, it was a rectangular-shaped energy cell.
The weapon was painted in gray and had the named Hydra in white.
"A new kind of plasma rifle?" Yang questioned while adopting the proper stance to shoot. "This should make things a lot easier."
The scientists remained silent, the Director told them about the nature of Yang's in the matter. Raven looked at them, there was no use watering down the truth.
"Yang, this weapon was created to kill Adam."
Yang's hair shone slightly at the same time that her face showed her anger.
"WHAT?!"

Well, It's been a few days since my last update.
If there is any fan of Warhammer 40K I apologize beforehand, I'm new to that grim and dark future. If any of you could tell me some feats of the space marines I would appreciate it.
The lexicanum doesn't tell anything specific, you know, something like "they can bench press 20 tons", and I've noticed that their feats tend to be either exaggerated, supposed or what is for me the worse case: the feats of a single individual are assumed to be the general feats for every space marine in existence.
I've been looking for information on Reddit and even quora, don't kill me, please.
Maybe I'm wrong and space marines can react in a nanosecond (which is pretty exaggerated considering that the brain wouldn't even process the information and send an order to the muscles), hear a heartbeat and etc.
I repeat: I'm new to Warhammer 40K and I would appreciate if any of you can tell me any specific feats.

I've been thinking about supporting some RWBY ships.
Of course, that they would have a little screen time, almost a cameo.
In special chapters (filler cough cough) they would have more screen time.
The ones that come to my head are:
White Rose (Ruby x Weiss), Bumblebee (Blake x Yang), Black Sun (Blake x Sun), Baked Alaska (Yang x Neo), Snow Bird (Qrow x Winter).
I personally like White Rose and Snow Bird the most, followed by Baked Alaska but I would like to hear (read) what some of you may think.

Now that I touched on the topic.
Special chapters are chapters that will be either non-canon or just focused on something else than the main story.
Some stuff like Masaru's history, part of the Grimm Wars, RWBY shippings, etc. (I thought to add chapters of entirely lemon but 5 thousand words about it may get tiring, even more, if they get to be as poorly written as the last one.)
Since they would be special chapters they would be 4-5 thousand words long or shorter depending on the topic.
The number of these specials will be limited, consider some of them as an expansion of the lore that I'm building along with the future Codex entries.
With nothing more to say, I'll read you all later. Have a nice day and be as happy as you can.
