POKEMON: LET'S GO

Episode 27: Friends In The Finale

"Our heroes are competing in the Pokemon Battle Challenge, held at Mikado Town. Riley and Chase have made their way to the finals and are standing against each other. Hold your breath for a tough battle is about to start between two friends."

Chase and Riley stand against each other in the battlefield for the final match. Dorothy joins Elaine in the stands as the latter worries about whom to cheer. Dorothy helps her and suggests cheering for both.

Riley and Chase ask each other to use their full strength in the battle. Riley calls out Sandshrew and Chase goes with Nidoran. Sandshrew begins with Rollout that is easily dodged by Nidoran, but Sandshrew swiftly returns and strikes Nidoran. He quickly regains his composure and uses Poison Sting. Sandshrew uses Dig to dodge and hit Nidoran, appearing beneath him. It then quickly digs back, but Chase tells Nidoran to keep running in the field. Sandshrew repeatedly digs out and in, but fails to hit the mark. Finally, Riley decides to change the strategy and has Sandshrew use Rollout. Nidoran, already being weary, is unable dodge in time and takes three consecutive hits.

Dorothy tells Elaine that she has read that Rollout becomes stronger with every consecutive hit. Elaine worries about Nidoran.

However, Nidoran stands back to fight. Sandshrew returns with another Rollout, but Chase has Nidoran hop into one of the holes dug by Sandshrew. Inside, Nidoran uses Double Team and a Nidoran pops out of each hole. Sandshrew stares in confusion as all the copies disappear and the real Nidoran uses Poison Sting, hitting Sandshrew. Nidoran further hits his opponent with a powerful Double Kick. Sandshrew moves with surprising agility and lands a hit with Rollout. Chase tells Riley that he is not the only one with a secret move and has Nidoran use his fully mastered Horn Attack. Riley has Sandshrew use Rollout again. The two moves collide mid air and both the Pokemon fall back on the ground, fainted. Riley and Elaine are left shocked by the surprise from Chase as the match fight ends in a draw.

Riley sends in Growlithe for the decider and Chase trusts Pikachu. Pikachu begins with Thunderbolt and Growlithe counters with Flamethrower. The two moves collide and a big dust cloud arises. Growlithe jumps out of the dust cloud and lands a critical hit with Secret Power. Pikachu uses Iron Tail that is blocked by Growlithe using Bite. Holding Pikachu by his tail, Growlithe throws him up in the air and lands a hit with Flamethrower. Pikachu falls on ground but manages to get up and continue. He rushes to Growlithe using Quick Attack. Growlithe uses Flamethrower, but Pikachu swiftly dodges it and lands a head on critical hit with Iron Tail. Growlithe manages to stand back and use another Secret Power attack. This time Pikachu blocks it with Iron Tail. Both Pokemon land back on the ground, but Growlithe stumbles due to fatigue. Pikachu takes the chance and finishes it off with a Thunderbolt.

The dust clouds disperse and Chase is declared the winner. Riley calls Growlithe back and the two trainers shake hands, praising each other. Later, Chase is given the winner's Gold Medal and the prize free Pokemon food for a month.

Elsewhere, Team Rocket counts their earnings from the noodle shop and their savings. Meowth claims that they have enough money to build a new Mecha.

Back at the Pokemon Center, Dorothy bids farewell to the group as she decides to stay at Mikado Town for a little longer and the group moves on towards Vermilion City.
