Chapter 27
Fritz finally finished fixing the tracks, when he heard the news of the rest of Oarai's forces arriving in the city and smirked. "We can end this match quickly," he said as he slid back into the Tiger I. His friends responded with grunts and nods of approval at that. "Panzer 5! Follow us to the city. We'll split up and meet again at point H017!" he shouted into the (finally) quiet main channel, understanding the tactical advantage of the pass located there.
"And why?" the radioman of the tank asked. "If we get there before Oarai, we'll hold one massive advantage and the defensive capabilities of our tanks would get much higher," he responded with a sigh escaping his lips. Seriously? Are they that bad tacticians, except Kommandant herself?! he thought and gave the order to enter the city.
"Do not enter the city, Panzers 5 und 30!" the voice of Maho suddenly shouted with a very angry tone. "Why? It's a trap?" Fritz asked and changed his tone in hopes to imitate admiral Ackbar. "Exactly. Regroup with us and we'll attack afterwards as a group," Maho responded and Fritz (unwillingly) obeyed and gave the changed orders, not noticing the Hetzer as it fired again.
"Scheiße!" Fritz shouted in frustration as his Tiger stopped again, with the sound of tracks getting loose, accompanying it.
Anzu was grinning like a madman, when the same Tiger I got disabled, but this time ending as a perfect target practise, because they used a HE shell as Trafalgar suggested. "Harassment success!" she cheerfully announced into the comms. "Good. We would breathe easier now, that we have one less mobile Tiger I breathing on our backs," Trafalgar responded.
"Meet with us near point H010. We'll regroup there," Nishizumi announced after a few moments of silence. Anzu knew that after the regrouping, it would quickly turn towards the end of the battle, depending on who was the better tactician. "Okay, we'll go there," she responded and ordered Yuzu to get them there, while passing the disabled Maus.
Viewing platform for VIP #1
Shiho looked with approval at the latest action of both of her daughters: calling all their subordinates to or near tactical positions. "Well, it looks like Maho is forced to work without the other Tiger I…" she heard Tsuji comment as he looked at the replay of the former Panzer 38 (t), now Hetzer's perfect track shattering shot.
"Yeah… Miho also has the advantage, when in a city. No one is better than Oarai in Urban warfare," Tsuneo added the obvious thing that she already knew. "Miho is going to utilize the advantage of the passage located at the point H017, while Maho's forces would be forced to zigzag in those cramped streets to avoid an ambush, but they'll get lost soon after that," Tsuji deduced, surprising her.
Suddenly, a cloaked figure stood up from the nearest non-VIP platform and walked away, looking around it and unintentionally showing a metallic mask. "Him," Tsuji muttered darkly as he too noticed the person. And that reaction meant only one thing: the bastard who wanted to harm her daughters, was preparing something to do, right here and now, to finish, whatever his goals were.
"Huh?" Trafalgar's voice brought her attention back to the screen just in time to see him grabbing the MG42 from the top of his tank's turret and scanning carefully the area around him. "What is it?" the voice of Erwin asked the armed boy. "I think that I saw someone with a suspicious tube walking in one of those buildings…" the boy answered, surprising everyone.
"Raven's Nest is trying to kill someone from Oarai's team again…" she heard Tsuji mutter and felt her anger rise enough to start releasing her killing intent at the possible assassin.
Traf walked slowly with the MG42 at the ready towards the place, where he saw the person walk. If I am not mistaken, that person carries either a Bazooka or Panzerfaust… This wasn't in my dreams. Definitely not, he thought and as he glanced to the far right, he saw the bulge of the Panzerfaust's rocket aimed at the area before it.
Traf slowly set up the MG42 on its bipod and aimed at the rocket. The person still didn't notice him and that was good for him.
There was a short silence, before Traf muttered "feuer frei!" and fired a salvo at the dangerous weapon. The action resulted in the Panzerfaust being dropped and the person shouting in surprise and anger.
Traf watched the fall of the rocket and right before it made contact with the ground, he had already the MG42 removed from the bipod. and retreated a step back. Then, the Panzerfaust exploded and Traf almost fell over due to the shockwave it made. "Heh… Talk about NERF ammo being safe… That thing is really an overkill," he muttered and walked back to his crew, intending to catch on whatever they discussed.
Maho looked at the assembled rest of her commanders. "Since Fritz is unable to join us without abandoning his tank, we should devise a strategy to pass to the point H017 mentioned before by him," she started. "And why?" Erika asked with her usual arrogant tone clearly hearable.
"That point is an easily defendable passage to an old factory-like complex. It is luckily for us wide and large enough even for the Maus, if it would be still active. I believe that my sister would try to have a final duel against me there," Maho explained with a hardly hidden sigh escaping her lips.
"I see. So, the rest of us must get you there and hunt the remaining enemy tanks?" Koume showed a bit of common sense. "Ja. Be vigilant all the time, or you risk being disabled by either their Tigers, T-34/85, StuG, Hetzer and/or a lucky shot from the Type 89B I-Go and M3, Lee variant," Maho announced and glared at Erika suddenly.
"And, zweiter Kommandant?" she said to her. "Ja?" Erika asked with a bit of fear in her voice. "Do not rush to help me. My crew and I are enough to defeat my sister in her IV H," she said and continued with giving specific orders to each of her commanders to try and avoid confusion.
Erwin smirked, when the StuG was completely hidden in a random heap of rubble, aiming in the direction of the main street, waiting for any unsuspecting enemy tank to be shot down. "Remember, move away after you shoot ASAP. And do not fire at the Flag! It is reserved for commander," George reminded everyone, except the Tiger (P) and Panzer IV.
"And the same, but with the Tiger II of Itsumi applies to you," she responded to that, earning a small laugh from both boy crews. "Да. And we are the cleaners. Destroy the TDs, when you can't," Boris said after a while and Erwin swore under her breath that she could actually hear the grin that the boy had.
"The enemy should be here soon," Trafalgar said after a minute of silence and after that, two Panthers, flanking the enemy Flag, showed up and Erwin smirked again before giving order to fire and run away to another side street.
