"Man, Crim's crying like a bitch-"
"I take offense to that... the females of my species don't cry that much." Brooz stated, and Stunk just sent him a look. "Oh... right... just an expression." Brooz realized a moment too late that it was just a common expression, and to be offended by a common phrase was a petty and pathetic thing.
"I'm not crying because I'm sad, this book is just really, REALLY good!" Crim shouted at them as he wiped the tears from his eyes. The book was taken out of his hands by Kanchal as he passed by, and he started to look at the page that Crim was on.
"Hmmm... so far, it doesn't seem bad, but it's not erotic at all."
"It's not an erotic book!" Crim complained at the misunderstanding. The book that Naruto translated and lent to him was not erotic in the slightest, it was an amazing book about ninjas with the will to never give up, and a desire to create an everlasting peace among mankind. It was an inspiring book.
"... It ends like this?" Zel was given the book. "So... the hero doesn't even have an answer to bring peace, and the book ends with him just saying he will never stop looking?" Zel looked at the final pages of the book as he scratched his head, before the book was taken from him by Stunk.
"This is Naruto's handwriting... and the main character is named Naruto too... total self-insert... if you're going to insert yourself, at the very least, make it an erotic story about getting tons of girls... but I guess those are pretty common." Stunk realized that kind of self-insert was too common. "Most men aren't able to put aside their own personal tastes in order to write sexy AND convincing female characters... oh well." Stunk had the book taken from HIM by Meidri this time as she looked at who the author of the book was.
"Says it was written by some guy named Jiraiya, and translated by Naruto... so the name thing seems to just be a coincidence. Naruto lent you this book... Jiraiya... that name seems familiar somehow... AH... isn't that Naruto's Godfather?" Meidri had heard Naruto mention it in passing before, and it took her a moment to remember that little tidbit. She had asked him if he had any family, and he told her that everyone in his real family was dead, but he considered his entire list of friends and his village to be a family to him.
Still, the people he held closest to his heart seemed to be his Father-Figure named Iruka, and his Grandfather-Figure named Jiraiya. The biggest role models in his life were those two people who influenced him the most.
"The super perverted guy... right... Naruto told me that Stunk reminds him of that guy." Zel pointed out as he gestured to Stunk.
The pervert puffed his chest out in pride.
"Hey, Birdmaid Girl... how do I become an Adventurer?"
"Oh... it's a bit too early for you to become an Adventurer kiddo. Maybe when you get a bit older and stronger." Meidri felt a hand pulling on her skirt. She saw a year old boy staring up at her, and she got a good look atg him. He had spiky white hair that was styled similar to Naruto's hair, and he had facial markings of red lines that started to go down from his eyes.
He had a very "Naruto" grin when he asked her that question, and something about him seemed to imply that he heard something that put him in a great mood.
"If I get stronger, and become a super famous adventurer, would you go on a date with me?"
"You're barking up the wrong tree-" Stunk was knocked out of his chair when Meidri kicked the leg out from under him. She smiled and pat the kid on the top of the head.
"Become a handsome, hard working man, and one day girls just as pretty as me will be right in line to get a chance with you. But you need to work really hard, get really strong... and remember to be a really good man with a kind heart." Meidri saw the spark of "Naruto" in this boys eyes.
"Spark of Naruto" was a term that Meidri had come up with.
She used it to describe people who had kind eyes, eyes that showed that they had strong souls and could endure any amount of pain. Eyes that showed great depth to them, something a 4 year old shouldn't have.
"That's my favorite book, and I'm glad you liked it Crim. Sup Meidri, I'm feeling a lot better now..." Naruto looked at the kid that was standing in front of Meidri, and instantly, a spark of recognition appeared in his eyes. Meidri turned to face Naruto, and she smiled a wide smile at him. "Hey brat, you're a bit young to be in a pub, aren't ya?" Naruto asked the kid with a grin on his face.
"You're the Legendary Army Fucker!... Aren't you just a Pervy Ninja?"
"Hahahahahaha!" Naruto laughed a roaring laugh when the kid said that to him, and he looked at Meidri with a grin on his face. "Looks like he got me pegged... but kid, I'm not just a Pervert... I'm a Super Pervert." Naruto grinned down at the kid.
Meidri gently smacked his head.
"Nonsense, you're a hero. Since this kid wants to become an adventurer, do you have any advice for him?" Meidri wanted to give the child a good impression of a strong man to be like. Naruto looked down at the kid for a second, and he scratched the back of his head awkwardly. His finger touched the cloth of his headband.
Naruto grinned as he took off his headband, and he leaned down in front of the child. Everyone who knew Naruto and saw him take off his headband dropped whatever they were holding when they saw Naruto put the headband on the child's forehead. Crim floated and smacked his face against the ceiling.
Everyone told Naruto he looked better without the headband, but he always refused to get rid of it.
"Pervy Ninja?"
"My advice is to never give up. You're going to fail a lot, and a lot, but never give up. Always endure, and eventually you're become great. I believe in you, that you will be something great... so protect that headband for me until then." Naruto grinned as he looked at the kid. Naruto pat the top of the child's head, and the child grinned a wide grin at him.
"Thanks!"
With that, the child turned around and started to run away.
'He looked about 4 years old... that's about how long ago he died...' Naruto thought as he watched the happy child running off, a softer grin on his face.
"Naruto..."
"Sup."
"You just... gave away your headband..." Meidri stated with her eyes widened in shock. That headband was one of the few things that Naruto treasured more than anything. It was hard to believe that he would just give it away like he did.
Naruto just looked away from her for a second as he tried to think of a way to say it. He looked towards the child just as he opened the doors to the pub and started to leave.
"... Fine feathers make a fine bird is how the saying goes. I think that kid has a lot of potential, so I'll give him something to encourage him to never give up. It's hard to explain-"
"Naruto, ignoring that kid! Why is this character named after you in this book!?" Zel asked loudly as he walked towards Naruto and pushed the book into his chest. Naruto tilted his head in confusion for a moment.
...
"OH! No, you're got it backwards, my parents named me after the main character of that book. They hoped that I would become the kind of person who never gives up... funny story, that character was named after ramen. It seems my love for ramen was determined by destiny." Naruto jokingly said to lighten the mood. "Who is up for a Succu girl joint... my treat, doesn't even need to be a review... I'm in a really good mood right now." Naruto put his hands in his pockets and looked around.
"Naruto... that was-"
'I know Kurama... I know who he was...' Naruto thought when Kurama called out to him. '... Have a good second life Pervy Sage... you've earned it.' Naruto thought as Stunk wrapped an arm around his shoulders and Zel slapped him on the back.
"I know JUST the place we should go!"
"Crim, come along too, Naruto's treat!"
This was just the world that man would have loved to be reborn into.
