Chapter 27
School Spirit
A day has passed since Class 1-A started to prepare their exhibition for the school festival. Joshua holds Eri's hand outside of the gate to U.A. The young girl stares at the two letters on the gate.
"U.A," said Eri slowly.
"Yeah. This is the prestigious U.A high," said Joshua.
"It looks big," said Eri.
"It's even bigger inside. Let's go," said Joshua.
Joshua and Eri walk through the gates of U.A. They walk until they see Class 1-A practicing outside. Izuku turns around and sees Joshua and his new little sister.
"Where have you been and who is that?" asked Izuku.
"She's the girl that Mirio and I saved from Overhaul. She's family now," said Joshua.
The rest of the class turns around and notices the little girl standing next to Joshua.
"She's so cute!" exclaimed Ochaco.
Once Ochaco says this, Eri hides behind Joshua. Joshua turns his head to look at her.
"Why are you scared?" asked Joshua.
"I've never met them before," said Eri softly.
"They're nice. They want to become heroes. They won't hurt you," said Joshua.
Eri moves back to Joshua's side. Ochaco walks up to her and kneels.
"I'm sorry for scaring you. I'm Ochaco Uraraka," said Ochaco.
Ochaco extends her hand.
"I'm Eri," said Eri softly.
The two girls shake hands.
"Why did you bring her here today?" asked Ochaco.
"I want to give her a tour of U.A," said Joshua.
"Will Principal Nezu be ok with this?" asked Ochaco.
"Yeah. he gave me permission to do this," said Joshua.
"Have a good day then," said Ochaco.
Joshua and Eri walk into the U.A building.
"Saturday is usually a day off but because we live in dorms now, there are students in the building working on projects," said Joshua.
They continue walking until they see two business course students.
"Hey, Girai!" exclaimed the business course student.
"Wait, you have a kid?" asked the other business course student.
Joshua doesn't respond.
"Answer me. I need to know," said the other business course student.
"Jokes aside, I have something to give you," said the business course student.
He pulls a flyer out of the box that he is holding.
"Class 1 is doing something cool this year. You gotta check it out," said the business course student.
"We will. Thanks," said Joshua.
Joshua and Eri walk through the door on the right. They see many classes working on their projects outside. They continue walking until they see a dragon in the middle of the pathway. Eri shrieks and hides behind Joshua. The dragon head is dropped and reveals Class 1-B students.
"Sorry dude. Oh, it's you Girai," said Tetsutetsu.
"What is this dawdling back here? We don't have time to waste," said Monoma.
Joshua turns around and kneels.
"Are you ok?" asked Joshua.
"I thought that it was the dragon lady on the news," said Eri.
"The dragon isn't real. It's probably just a prop," said Joshua.
"Are you ignoring me? I heard that your class is going to have a live show! Can you guys even pull that off? We're going to outshine you guys this time! Romeo and Juliet and the Return of the Prisoner of King of Azkaban. It's a spectacular screenplay from no other than Class B! You better get back to your practice or we will blow you out of the water! You better grab your hankie!" said Monoma.
Awase grabs a piece of wood and hits Monoma across the head with it.
"I'm sorry Class A guy. Monoma's handler isn't around, so he has no filter," said Awase.
"That's odd. Kendo is always around Monama," said Joshua.
"She's in the beauty pageant," said Awase.
"I didn't think she was into beauty like that," said Joshua.
"She isn't. She kind of got pressured to join," said Awase.
"Where could I find her?" asked Joshua.
"She should be over there," said Awase.
Awase points at a building down the pathway.
"Thank you," said Joshua.
Joshua and Eri walk for a couple minutes until they find the building. They enter it and see Nejire floating in the air, wearing a dress and high heels. She sees them and floats to the ground.
"Why are you guys here?" asked Nejire.
"I just wanted to show Eri around the school. What are you doing here?" said Joshua.
"I'm in the beauty pageant," said Nejire.
"I can tell," said Joshua.
"I want to beat Bibimi Kenranzaki. This year is my last chance," said Nejire.
"Kendo is also competing this year. She's built an underground group of fans after she was in that commercial. Performing in front of a large crowd just makes me feel nauseous by just thinking about it," said Amajiki.
"I'm taking home first prize this year!" exclaimed Nejire.
Joshua and Eri turn around.
"I'll be cheering for you," said Joshua.
They walk out of the building. They walk for ten minutes until they enter the Development Studio.
"This is the support course. I take support course classes in the afternoon. They must be working on a big tech exhibition for the school festival," said Joshua.
Before Joshua can say anything else, he senses a familiar girl standing behind him.
"You're correct. This is the time of year where the support course gets to strut its stuff," said Mei.
Joshua quickly turns around to see his support course classmate standing behind him.
"Mei," said Joshua.
"Look at my super cute baby number 202!" exclaimed Mei.
She stands in front of a giant mech.
"You look dirty," said Joshua.
"There's no time to waste on cleaning when I have so many ideas! The sports festival was my chance to shine, but I was just a splash in the hero course's shadow. Now, we will be the stars of the show! Those industry hacks will be eating me up when they see my babies!" said Mei.
Mei places her hand on her mech and it explodes.
"My baby!" exclaimed Mei.
"Not again Hatsume!" exclaimed a support course student.
"We better get going. Have a good day," said Joshua.
Joshua and Eri exit the Development Studio. They walk for five minutes until they reach the cafeteria. Five more minutes pass. Joshua and Eri now sit at an empty cafeteria table.
"Do you feel more comfortable now?" asked Joshua.
"I don't know. There are so many people working so hard," said Eri.
"That's what we call excitement!" exclaimed Principal Nezu.
"Principal Nezu, Ms. Midnight, why are you guys here?" asked Joshua.
"I'm excited about the festival as well. It's my job to encourage you, students, to produce the best attractions ever. Now then! I have places to go to, but I hope you kids have fun," said Principal Nezu.
Principal Nezu walks away.
"The only thing that I can tell you is that the security will be tightened for the festival so no villains can interfere and put people in danger," said Midnight.
Midnight stands up.
"Don't tell anybody that I told you this," said Midnight.
"We won't. Thank you," said Joshua.
Midnight walks away.
"What will you guys be doing for the festival?" asked Eri.
"We're going to be having fun. We're going to be dancing, singing, and playing instruments. You're going to enjoy it. I'll make sure you have front row seats," said Joshua.
Eri smiles.
"I can't wait. Your performance will be exciting," said Eri.
Joshua smiles. He ruffles Eri's hair.
"I'll make sure to practice a lot just for you," said Joshua.
Eri's smile grows larger.
"Let's go. I have to practice with the rest of my class," said Joshua.
"Ok," said Eri.
Joshua and Eri stand up. They walk until Joshua's phone buzzes. He stops and pulls the phone out of his pocket.
"That Gentle Criminal guy is back at it again. His crimes continue to get closer and closer to U.A. He seems like he's a clout chasing YouTuber, so his next crime will probably be at the school festival later this week. I can't let him ruin a day that will be special to Eri," thought Joshua.
"What's wrong?" asked Eri.
"Nothing. I just got to do something important later this week that I didn't want to do," said Joshua.
"Will it stop you from dancing on stage?" asked Eri.
"No. I'll make sure it doesn't interfere," said Joshua.
"Ok," said Eri.
Joshua and Eri start to walk.
"Gentle Criminal, don't overstep your boundaries. I'm coming for you," thought Joshua.
