"Wait I'm not wearing pants!" Ash shouted, as Duking hurried him along.
"Don't worry about it, just put in some shoes, and put up a good fight." Duking said energetically.
Ash was still wearing one of Serena's shirts, and while it could pass as a full outfit for him, Ash wasn't sure he was comfortable wearing only that and some shoes in front of a large crowd.
"I'll try and find some shorts!" Serena shouted after them. "Hmm, I think I packed them all at the bottom of Ash's suitcase. I shouldn't mess it up just for this." Serena said to herself, before running off to catch the matches.
Round 1
"Rampardos! Bastiodon! Let's go!"
Ash looked in his hand, he had two pokeballs and Pikachu on him when Duking rushed him to the arena, and one of those contained Impidimp, he was no longer sure which one that was.
"Alright guys let's go!" Ash shouted, throwing the pokeball, as Pikachu ran onto the field.
Out of the Pokeball popped Hawlucha.
"Bastiodon use Metal Sound! Rampardos use Head Smash!"
"Hawlucha use Karate Chop! Pikachu use Iron Tail!"
Hawlucha landed a hit directly in the center of Bastiodon's head, as a roar echoed through the arena, while Pikachu and Rampardos collided, with Pikachu hurtling backwards from the impact.
"Bastiodon use Flash Cannon! Rampardos use Stomp!"
"Hawlucha use Flying Press! Pikachu use Thunderbolt!"
Hawlucha ever the show off, spun out of the way of the Flash Cannon at the last second before landing a direct blow on Bastiodon, while Pikachu managed to stun Rampardos from below.
"Bastiodon use Rock Blast! Rampardos use Head Smash!"
"Hawlucha use Karate Chop! Pikachu use Iron Tail!"
Hawlucha landed a third hit in the same spot, knocking out Bastiodon, as Pikachu knocked Rampardos off balance, leaving him prone.
"Rampardos use dig!"
"Hawlucha use Karate Chop! Pikachu use Iron Tail!"
Rampardos wasn't able to spin around fast enough, as Ash's pokemon struck it down in defeat.
Outside the arena
"I'm telling you I'm with the Unbeatable One!" Serena pleaded.
"Yeah, you and all the others." The security guard said pointing to the group of guys and girls trying to get in with the same excuse.
"Fine, I'll call them to prove it." Serena said with a huff.
In the waiting area
"Come on Serena, where are you?" Ash said, very self conscious of himself.
At the house
"Toto?" Totodile questioned the ringing object in front of him.
"Pan?" Pancham questioned, also turning his head.
Back at the arena
"He's not picking up, must be a bad signal, so if you'll just let me…". Serena said, trying to squeeze by.
"Not gonna happen." The security guard said.
Round 2
"Slurpuff! Vanilluxe! Let's go!"
"Pikachu! Hawlucha you're up!"
"Slurpuff use Energy Ball! Vanilluxe use Ice Beam!"
"Pikachu use Iron Tail! Hawlucha use Karate Chop!"
Pikachu sliced through the energy ball, striking Slurpuff on the side. Hawlucha went in for the strike, only to get shot away by the Ice Beam.
"Slurpuff use Flamethrower! Vanilluxe use Mirror Shot!"
"Pikachu use Thunderbolt! Hawlucha use Flying Press!"
Pikachu and Slurpuff traded blows, both being pushed back. Hawlucha managed to spin out of the way of this attack, slamming down on the Vanilluxe.
"Slurpuff use Play Rough! Vanilluxe use Hyper Beam!"
"Pikachu use Quick Attack! Hawlucha use Karate Chop!"
Ash noticed three things as the Pokémon charged forward, Slurpuff didn't move, Pikachu seemed to be in a bit of pain, and Hawlucha was leaning to the left.
"Statuses." Ash muttered to himself.
"Pikachu use Thunderbolt! Hawlucha use Flying Press!"
"Vanilluxe use Self Destruct! Slurpuff use Protect!"
Unfortunately his opponent hadn't seen the new changes, Hawlucha was nowhere near Vanilluxe when it went off, and Pikachu was attacking from a distance anyway.
"Now let's finish this! Hawlucha use X Scissor! Pikachu use Iron Tail!"
"Slurpuff use Play Rough!"
The three Pokémon got into a tussle, with Ash's Pokémon coming out on top as the victors.
"Can anyone beat her!" The announcer said as Ash walked off.
"A strong breeze might do it." Ash said tugging at the shirt.
In the waiting area
"I'm telling you! Ash is waiting for me!" Serena said.
"And I'm telling you, if you try getting through here again, we'll have to detain you." A security guard said.
Back at the house
Totodile had dug through some things and he and Pancham were now throwing some random articles of clothing at each other.
"Totototototo!" Totodile laughed, playfully dancing on the mess they had made. He had landed a pair of shorts on Pancham.
"Cham!" Pancham shouted, tackling Totodile to the ground.
Round 3
"Pinsir! Scyther! Let's win this!"
"Pikachu! Hawlucha! Lets go!"
"Pinsir use ViseGrip! Scyther use Slash!"
"Pikachu use Thunderbolt! Hawlucha use Wing Attack!"
Pinsir and Scyther dove right in going for Pikachu. Hawlucha swooped in, taking Pinsir with him, while Pikachu zapped Scyther.
"Pinsir use Seismic Toss! Scyther use Fury Cutter!"
"Hawlucha use Flying Press! Pikachu use Iron Tail!"
Pinsir locked Hawlucha in it's pincers as Scyther began slashing away at Pikachu. Hawlucha took the chance and mid spin took control, sending Pinsir crashing to the ground with him still locked, while Pikachu knocked Scyther off balance finally. As the smoke cleared from Pinsir and Hawlucha's falls both were knocked out.
"Pikachu use Discharge!"
"Scyther use Fury Cutter!"
Scyther didn't even make it close, as Pikachu pulled out a win for Ash.
"Serena, you better be here this time." Ash said.
In the waiting area
"Serena? What are you doing out here? Ashley has been waiting for you!" Duking said.
"I've been trying to get back there, but they wouldn't let me." Serena scolded.
"Let her through boys." Duking said. "Did you bring some shorts?"
"Couldn't find any." Serena said. "I have a different idea though.
In the locker room
"How is this comparable to shorts?" Ash complained as Serena tied a sash around his waist.
"Trust me, it's less likely to billow, and you only have one match left." Serena said.
"But you couldn't grab shorts, or pants, or anything better?" Ash said.
"I couldn't find them." Serena said, guiltily.
Round 4
"Duking! What are you doing out here?" Ash asked in shock.
"I'm your final challenger. Figured once you leave, I'd start re entering the arena, try and build up business myself." Duking said.
"Don't think because we're friends that I'm gonna go easy on you." Ash said.
"I wouldn't dream of it." Duking said holding two pokeballs. "Flygon! Quagsire! It's time to battle once more!"
"Pikachu! Hawlucha! Let's do this!" Ash said excitedly.
"Flygon use BoomBurst! Quagsire use Mud Bomb!"
"Pikachu use Quick Attack! Hawlucha use Flying Press!"
Pikachu charged forward brushing off Quagsire attack, as Hawlucha and Flygon began an aerial battle.
"Flygon use Dragon Claw! Quagsire use Slam!"
"Pikachu use Iron Tail! Hawlucha use Karate Chop!"
Pikachu jumped out of the way of Quagsire's attack, striking it from the side. Hawlucha and Flygon clashed, claw to wing, neither giving in.
"Flygon use Earthquake! Quagsire use Protect!"
"Hawlucha get Pikachu into the air!"
Hawlucha just barely made it in time, rescuing Pikachu as the arena shook.
"Flygon strike them down with Hyper Beam!"
"Hawlucha get in close, and Pikachu use Thunderbolt!"
Hawlucha struggled maneuvering with Pikachu, but swooped out of the way as Pikachu sent a bolt of lightning at Flygon.
"Ashley that won't do anything." Duking said.
"Just watch." Ash said confidently.
The bolt of electricity was enough to momentarily stop Flygon's attack.
"Now Pikachu use Iron Tail! Hawlucha use Karate Chop!"
The two Pokémon struck Flygon at the same time, sending it pummeling to the arena below.
"Flygon use BoomBurst to cushion your fall! Quagsire use Hydro Pump!"
"Pikachu use Thunderbolt! Hawlucha use Flying Press!
The free falling Pokémon took the commands with ease, Pikachu hitting the Hydro Pump, zapping Quagsire, while Hawlucha struck from above, and the shockwave from Flygon's attack hit from the side.
"Quagsire use Mud Bomb! Flygon use Dragon Claw!"
"Pikachu use Iron Tail! Hawlucha use X Scissor!"
Serena watched from the locker room, seeing a fire not only in Ash's eyes but Duking's as well. They may have come here on accident, but they had helped a lot of people in the time they'd been here.
Later at the apartment
"So you couldn't find any of my shorts huh?" Ash asked, seeing the chaos that was his room. Several pairs of shorts, easily visible.
"I can explain, because I didn't look." Serena admitted.
"Okay, you can clean this up, and as for the actual punishment, I'll need these." Ash said, grabbing a pair of jeans. "Have fun!"
