Angie was buckled safely in her booster seat in the front of the group home. The car was parked on the side. Brooke stayed back to reassure the young girl and add a layer of comfort.
"I told Angie we would find a way for her to have contact with her parents. Please tell me that's possible. That this couple didn't cut all ties with their daughter.?" Lucas asked.
The social worker locked her gaze on Lucas.
"I have contact information from them. An address. The move alot. Hotel to hotel. Nothing very stable. They didn't bother leaving a phone number that changes alot too."
"The issue is they don't want to be contacted. They signed their right away. It was difficult enough for them deciding to do that." The woman admitted.
"I can't and don't know what having to do that would feel like. I have a great amount of sympathy for them and i'm grateful and relieved that instead of harming Angie or leaving her in a impossible situation they made it a point to ask you to reach out. But Angie needs closure. She's too young to understand why her parents did this."
"At the very least they need to say goodbye to her. She deserves that don't you think.?" Lucas asked.
"She does. But if i'm being honest. At this point. Giving her access to them now would only lead her to pain and disappointment so i won't give you their information." The social worker said.
Lucas sighed deeply. Turning his back as he left the group home.
