Chapter 21. Secret reveal
[Hiccup turns to face a bolted, heavy door. Take a deep breath.]
HICCUP: I'm ready.
To be either roasted alive or murdered by my tribe- take your pick." Gues who.
[The door bolt is raised. The crowd grows quiet... Beat. BOOM! The doors blast open with a stream of sticky fire. Followed by a Monstrous Nightmare, coated in flames. It tears out of its cave like an irate bull - as the crowd roars and jeers. It climbs the walls and chain enclosure like a bat, hissing at the provoking crowd and blasting fire.]
Everyone in the room was tense. All but me who was now contacting the pack that it's time.
Dear Gods, please protect my foolhardy son. " Stoick mumbled into his hands not able to watch but unable to turn away.
STOICK: What is he doing?
Trying to end a 300 year war... You know... The usual…" Again guess who.
[The dragon presses closer, snorting. Hiccup extends his open hand. It snarls.]
HICCUP: (WHISPERED) It's okay. It's okay.
[The dragon continues to pace, focused on... HICCUP'S HELMET. Hiccup realizes, then reaches up and removes it. Taking a breath to acknowledge the point of no return, he tosses the helmet aside. It hits the ground.]
HICCUP: (CONT'D) I'm not one of them.
Gasps spread through the crowd like wildfires.
Dagur stared at the village of Vikings.
Did this seriously come as a shock to you? " He asked but all he got in return was shrugs.
[GASPS and MURMURS race through the crowd. ON STOICK, as all eyes turn to him. He's welling with upset. Hiccup avoids Stoick's glare and remains focused on the Nightmare, holding his hand out. It paces around him, calming down.]
STOICK: Stop the fight.
Oh, no bad idea. Bad idea! " Eugene shouts at the screen as if he will be able to wield future movie Stoick to his will.
HICCUP: No. I need you all to see this.
Thes' isn't goin' te end 'ell boyo." Comments Spitelout, clearly worried.
[The crowd gets restless.]
HICCUP: They're not what we think they are. We don't have to kill them.
Another very very bad idea." Jack adds.
STOICK: I SAID STOP THE FIGHT!
[Stoick whacks his hammer against the iron enclosure, rattling the arena with a terrible.]
You idiots! Know what I'm done you're all going to die! " Hiro says, throwing his hands in the air, clearly annoyed.
[Spooked, the Nightmare snaps at Hiccup's outstretched hand. Hiccup YELPS and springs backward. The spell is broken. The Nightmare reacts to Hiccup's sudden movements and blasts another stream of fire.]
What did I say, but did you listen to me noooooooo. " Both Hiro and Eugene add on, clearly forgetting their previous comment while I was Tempting to add another tally but Shrugged it off knowing there'll be more of it coming so there is no point and cause the blackboard to turn into ashes with the snap of my fingers.
As for Stoick he was mentally and literally cursing himself it was working! " No, no, no, no." Stoick keeps muttering as he watches the scene unfold, all because of his blindness And hatred.
[Hiccup SCREAMS and barely dives out of reach.]
Hiccup cringed. " Yep. Something bad happened." He stated Sarcastically.
Astrid gave him a small smile and a pat on the back. Hiccup returned the smile, his stomach now full of butterflies. He could get used to this.
EXT. COVE - CONTINUOUS ON TOOTHLESS
[His ear plates shoot up. Panic flares in his eyes.]
Hiccup laughed at his dragon." Aww. Someone is in protective mode! " Tease Hiccup at Toothless playfully.
The dragon mumbled some colorful words that only Hiccup could hear, making the boy laugh harder.
Dragons have a strange vocabulary of words they call 'colorful'.
Though I gotta say that, I can't believe Toothless could hear you screaming." said Fred.
Oh no. This is going to go from bad to worse." You can guess who said it.
EXT. TRAINING GROUNDS - CONTINUOUS
[Hiccup scrambles around the ring. The Nightmare pursues, snapping and springing from ground to wall. Stoick pushes through the crowd, rushing to the doorway.]
STOICK: Out of my way!
ASTRID: Hiccup!
Ah great! Now we have the crazy Dragon hating dad and the female love interest getting in." Jack says, shocking everybody about his comment and that it wasn't Eugene or Hiro ranting.
[Astrid wedges her axe under the arena gate and squeezes through.]
Hiccup stared at Astrid. " What was your future self thinking?You could have gotten killed! " He scolded at his girlfriend who
blushed at the fact that Hiccup was worried about her but just shrugged her shoulders in reply.
Snotlout let out a muffled yell from under the duct tape.
You see, after the break and when Snotlout Recovers from his "Play Time" with us after that break earlier, I sent the Twins to sneak up on Snotface and tie him to his chair and cover his mouth with duct tape. No one has missed him tough, so we're good.
EXT. COVE - CONTINUOUS
[Toothless bounds to the cove walls, clawing them in desperation. It seems he's as trapped as before, but with an incredible BURST of effort, he HOOKS a claw over the upper lip of the stone wall.]
WOOOOOOOOOO! " yelled Anna. When everyone looked at her, she turned pink, Embarrassed. " Whoops. " Everyone then saw I nearly jumping up and down in excitement as for Hiccup he was shock at what his best bud doing.
Toothless! You too? " Hiccup said, exasperated, and Toothless snorted, and put his head in Hiccup's lap.
Holy Morgana's Tits do you know what this means? " Elsa said staring at the screen sort of talking to herself I actually snorted at her cussing words.
What?! " Rapunzel asked for most everyone in the room.
He couldn't get out before. His survival depended on getting out of the cove and he wasn't able to." Everyone looked at the almost queen for an elaboration.
Toothless couldn't get out when his life depended on it, but now that he thinks Hiccup's life depends on it he is going to find anyway possible to get out to rescue his friend. It's pretty much saying that Hiccup's life is more important than his own." Elsa Explain shocking everyone.
Everyone sat there for a minute to digest this information. The Vikings found it especially hard having grown up thinking dragons were mindless beasts.
I on the other hand smirk and playfully bow to Elsa. " Well said, Queen Elsa well said. " I mused and she mock bow in return.
EXT. TRAINING GROUNDS - CONTINUOUS
[A narrow stream of fire narrowly avoids Hiccup as he continues to dash around the ring, evading the Monstrous Nightmare. Desperate, he goes to the weapon rack in an attempt to arm himself, but the Nightmare quickly destroys the rack and closes in on him.]
Rapunzel covered her face with her hands." This is NOT going to end well. " She Whimper.
Well do much for that idea. " Mutters Tadashi as Aunt Cass kept eating her Snack.
And as for Toothless he growled but calmed down slightly at Hiccup's touch.
EXT. COVE - CONTINUOUS
[Toothless tears through the woods, bounding like panther and taking to the air in short bursts.]
You know however I play this out realistically in my head I can't think of a way for this to end happily. " Eugene said breaking the tension a bit, but not really after his slightly pessimistic comment sunk in.
EXT. TRAINING GROUNDS - CONTINUOUS
[Stoick wrenches the grated door to the arena and jumps through. The Monstrous Nightmare is only a few feet behind Hiccup. Astrid is now in the ring.]
ASTRID: Hiccup!
[She picks up a hammer and hurls it at the Monstrous Nightmare, hitting it in the head. It turns its attention to Astrid, and begins chasing her.]
Really Astrid?! " Groans Hiccup. Astrid to too worried for Hiccup to reply.
[Stoick raises the arena gate, waving her toward it.]
STOICK: This way!
[Astrid makes it through, but the Nightmare BLASTS the doorway, cutting Hiccup off. It pounces on him and prepares to finish him off.]
Everyone shouts "NO!" In unison as they see Hiccup trapped under the Nightmares claw. Hookfang crrons sadly and nudges Hiccup's face in a attempt to apologise, nothing. Hookfang then curls up around the worried boy as croons in a apologetic tune, making Hiccup stroke the nightmare, telling him that the apology is accepted.
[Suddenly, a terrible roar pierces the din.]
Stoick and Gobber paled, worried about what could happen to Hiccup.
Hiccup smiled slightly, turning towards Toothless and petting the dragon making him purr but then he groan knowing what's coming next
GOBBER: Night Fury! Get down!
Oh gods." Hiccup mumbled, putting a hand over his forehead.
TOOTHLESS TO THE RESCUE! " came an excited scream from the left. Everyone whirled to see GV and BV ( @Hiccstrid-Smp2 ) Came running out of nowhere around in excitement, us pack just rolls our eyes.
Your in for it now guys. " I thought As I saw lucy dragged the twins back into the Inner room next to the Diner.
[Toothless bounds over the crowd and BLASTS a hole through the chain enclosure. He flies through it and disappears in the boiling smoke. The Vikings rush to railings... in time to see a flurry of wings cutting through the dissipating smoke. Toothless and the Nightmare tumble into the clear, locked in a toothy, vicious fight.]
Ya know, dragon vs. dragon is way cooler than viking vs. dragon." said Kristoff everyone from the glared at while most who had Experience from the dragon fight wince even the grimborns.
[Toothless kicks the Nightmare off and plants himself between Hiccup and it. The Nightmare snarls, circling them.]
The Vikings were shocked at how protective Toothless was of Hiccup. Anyone with half of a brain could see that the two shared a special bond.
[Toothless lunges and ROARS... causing the Nightmare to relent and back away. To everyone's shock and horror, Hiccup gets to his feet and grabs Toothless protectively.]
Wow dragon fights are intense. " Tuffnut says. everyone shushes him except for his sister who throws a shoe at him.
HICCUP: (PANICKED) Alright, Toothless, go. Get out of here!
[The crowd is gob-smacked, growing livid.]
VIKINGS: Night Fury!
Yep I'm think banishment at best and mass murder at worst." Eugene says scratching his chin looking thoughtful. Everyone stares at him in shock." What? it's true! if you're being realistic. " He pout crossing his arms.
[Hiccup tries to shoo Toothless away in vain. Vikings begin pouring clambering through the enclosure and dropping into the ring.]
Mala and Throk growled st Berk.
Stupid Vikings! " Mala cried.
Throk's hand itched for his Stone Axe but got held back by Viggo.
Throk stared up at him in shock but Viggo merely shook his head and sat down in his seat getting a confused look from Ryker.
As Honey Lemon turn to Hiccup Confuse. " Why didn't you ride off on him? " Asked Honey Lemon, incredelous. Hiccup shrugged.
HICCUP: Go! GO!
VIKING: Take it alive!
No! " Hiccup yelled, wrapping his arms around Toothless tightly.
[Stoick grabs an axe and charges into the arena. Astrid calls out to him, panicked.]
ASTRID: Stoick no!
Thanks Astrid." Hiccup smiles at her, a smile which she returns as they cuddle.
HICCUP: Dad! No! He won't hurt you!
I pinch the bridges of my bose. " You're a really bad listener, Stoick. You know that, right? " I scoff.
Stoick looked over at his son but Hiccup looked away, avoiding his gaze. The large man sighed but nodded his head.
Yes, I know. " Stoick admitted.
[The other Vikings surround and attack Toothless. He tosses them aside like rag dolls, his eyes focused on Stoick.]
He's stronger than he looks! " cried Eugene as Gobber then comes to a realization.
The Night fury thinks you're going to hurt his young. " He whispers.
What? " Asks Stoick and Spitelout, confused. They appear to be the only ones who heard him.
The night fury- he's attacking Stoick because to him it looks like Stoick is going to kill or harm Hiccup- who he sees as his young. " The vikings are touched.
Though when Valka was about to correct him when a cold Metallic hand touch her shoulder that cause her to look up and when she did she first thought ut was some kind of a stranger who got lost but when she notice he was wearing a brown leather lab coat and has a weird futuristic metallic arm with a clock core attach on the back of it's metal hand wrist which was patting her shoulder startling her a little but then she Recognize him from the Godzilla viewing as she looks up and sigh in relief knowing it was Professor Paradox though not sure why his here but he saw him made a shushing gesture and said…
Shhhssss Spoilers. " Paradox Said before walking behind me and Whisper something to my here and I look behind and nod as he disappear in a flash of blue light Though Valka notice and was confuse but Shrugged it.
As for me He said that it was almost time and I nod in understanding where Almost at the ending point for Kong Skull Island after showing all the movies.
HICCUP: (CONT'D) No, don't! You're only making it worse!
I turn to stoick again and glance at Valka who stare wide eyes those words she said before she was taken by Cloudjumper.
Sound familiar guys? " I asked to stoick and Valka who gave each other a knowing look.
Now is not the time to give people the silent treatment." Jack says.
Yeah, I bet if everyone all calmed down and went about this logically we might actually avoid the things Eugene was talking about." Kristoff says.
They're Vikings. Logic isn't in their vocabulary. " Hiccup said.
HICCUP: (CONT'D) Toothless! STOP!
[He pins Stoick and inhales. The familiar hiss of gas builds. Everyone braces...]
HICCUP: (CONT'D) NO!
[Toothless swallows back the blast and turns to Hiccup, not understanding.]
You know this feels like foreshadowing. " Said Eugene and for some weird reason others agreed.
VIKING: Get him!
[The crowd rushes him, piling on, and taking Toothless down. Astrid holds Hiccup back.]
HICCUP: (DESPERATE) No! Please...just don't hurt him. Please don't hurt him.
Almost everyone had tears in their eyes.
[Stoick gets to his feet, fuming, shaken. A Viking presents Stoick with an axe. He eyes Toothless for a moment, then pushes the axe back into the Viking's hands.]
STOICK: Put it with the others!
