Sorry about chapter title, didn't really know what else to put.
Harry woke up the next day feeling as if he was in a dream, he had never felt so comfortable, nor did he ever feel so safe, even at Hogwarts. It was at that moment that he remembered where he was. Last night's meal had been one of the best he had ever tasted, and that was also counting the meals at Hogwarts, it was just this feeling he got when eating. Harry could tell it was made with so much love, for both the job, and the master. The elves were spectacular, not one day since Harry's late parents' last visit had the house not been cared for. It was always ready, ready for the Lord of the Potter Family to return. Harry's things had already been brought up as he reached his room.
Harry decided that he would get up now, he had been laying in bed for a good half hour now, so he had to start moving, today was the day he would begin his training. As he sat up, he looked around his room, he was in the master bedroom, and it was huge, it had a beautiful king-sized bed which he was currently sitting on, on one side was a door that led to his private office, and on the other side, there was his on-suite bathroom, along with his own walking wardrobe. Harry knew he would have to buy a load more clothes if he was to even fill half of the wardrobe, it was the size of Dudley's bedroom at Privet Drive. He knew it was designed for both Lord and Lady Potter, and not a teenager to begin with, but he would get there eventually.
In the bedroom itself, there was a huge window, which also contained french doors leading onto the balcony. He hadn't been on the balcony, and he didn't want to yet, it would ruin the surprise that was the garden. The three men had decided that they would explore the rest of the property that morning, and begin training that afternoon, it was going to be an interesting day Harry decided, he had never done much exercise, so he knew that he was going to be aching the following day. There were a few paintings on the walls, most of them showing the countryside, others showing different species of both magical and non-magical of animals.
Harry got up, and went into his office, he hadn't explored that either as he had just about collapsed onto his bed after he had gotten changed. As he pushed open the door, he was surprised to walk into a rather boring looking office, there wasn't anything personal in it, Harry assumed that the things that were there originally were taken by his dad when they went into hiding.
There was one thing that caught his attention, on the back wall, behind the rather nice looking desk, there was a painting of two people, they both looked to be in their fifties, possibly even their sixties, and they were both sleeping. At the bottom of the painting, there was a plaque, Harry approached it, and read what it said.
Charlus and Dorea Potter
Harry felt his eyes absorb every last detail of his grandparents, this was the first time he'd seen them, well from what he could remember at least, he knew that they had both died shortly after he was born, Dorea from an illness, and Charlus in battle after the passing of his wife. Harry didn't really know what to do at this discovery, he wanted to talk to them, but he didn't know what to say, so he decided that he would come back later with the other two.
For now though, Harry left the office, got changed into a pair of shorts and a t-shirt, he wanted to be able to move easily, and today was going to be warm too, so while he was out looking at the garden, he could make the most of the heat, which he found lacking in Scotland. He left his room, he came upon the long corridor which was where all the bedrooms were, there were a dozen of them, all with on-suite bathrooms, he then headed downstairs. As he reached the bottom of the stairs, he immediately turned right and headed to the informal dining room, where he could already hear voices.
When he walked through the door, he spotted both Sirius and Remus sitting at the table, a cup of coffee in front of them, and a bowl of cereal. Harry said 'hello' to the two of them, and then called Ula, asked for a cup of tea and some croissants with some jam. As soon as he ordered his food, he sat down at the head of the table. His breakfast arrived shortly after, and Harry, Sirius and Remus all spoke of random things.
When Harry had finished, they all went out, and visited the garden. As they walked out the back door from the ballroom, they came upon a nicely set out garden, it was very formal, not a garden that one would use in his every day life. They guessed that it was for the people who needed to take some air after a bit of dancing. So they had a quick tour around there, it was beautifully set out, it was a garden one would expect at a royal palace.
They went back through the ballroom, and into the bar-room, there they went out into the regular garden. As they walked out the door, they could tell that it was for less formal occasions. There was a patio that would fit around 8 to 10 people comfortably, along with a barbecue. Further down the garden, Harry spotted a Quidditch pitch, the one he had caught a glimpse of yesterday when they had first arrived. It also seemed to hold a football pitch, which Harry found quite interesting, considering the Potter family was Pure-blooded, maybe it had been installed when his dad had married his mother, maybe it was something she liked.
There was also a couple of table-tennis tables, a big sitting area with a bar next to it, Harry considered having his birthday party outside instead now. Closer to the patio was also a big swimming pool with a huge slide. That was something that Harry wanted to try, his aunt and uncle had never taught him to swim, they had never taken him swimming to be fair, but Harry considered it a skill worth learning. The whole garden was surrounded by trees, keeping the whole place private. Harry assumed there were muggle repelling wards around the place, otherwise he guessed there would be a lot of questions about the hoops in the sky.
The three men spent a bit of time outside, just sitting around the sitting area with some refreshing drinks, a cold muggle beer called Corona in Sirius' hand whereas Harry and Remus both had a butter beer each. Harry thought it was a bit too early for Sirius to be drinking a beer at this time, they hadn't even had lunch yet, but he didn't say anything, he knew Sirius had been deprived of a lot of things during his incarceration in Azkaban.
Their lunch was brought out to them st 1 P.M, and they ate it with great pleasure. They all knew what was planned for the afternoon, they were going to head down to the basement which was an exercise room, and begin Harry's physical training. Harry was half dreading this, as he didn't want to feel the pain the next day, but he knew it was a necessary step towards his betterment.
Neville was currently in his greenhouse taking care of his plants. His gran wasn't as good at Herbology as he was, so when he came back, he realised that there were a lot of his plants that needed tending to urgently. It didn't bother him though, he was actually thankful for it, as it gave him something to do. His holidays had never been overly exciting as he never really had friends, so he didn't spend much time outside, or invite people over. He would occasionally invite Hannah Abbot and Susan Bones over when he was young, but they had grown distant since then, Maybe he could fix that next term, he thought.
Right now he was taking care of his Venomous Tentacula. He was used to working with rather dangerous plants, and so they didn't scare him. He understood those who were scared of them however, because even if Neville was good at Herbology, not everyone was, so they didn't have the required skill to do so.
Just as he finished unravelling two of the plants tentacles which had managed to make a knot somehow, a snowy white owl with amber eyes flew through the open window. Neville automatically recognised her as Hedwig. She perched herself somewhere where the plant wouldn't be able to reach her, and held out her leg. On it was a package, which Neville guessed he knew what it was, and couldn't wait to open it. He quickly retrieved said package, and the owl flew off, obviously not waiting for a response, it also had another package similar to the one Neville had, and he guessed that that package belonged to Hermione.
He opened his package, and picked up his new wand. Not that he had disagreed with what Harry was doing, but he was happy to have it back given that had barely had it before he'd had to pass it over to Harry yesterday. As he picked it up, he could feel his magic tingling inside him. It quickly disappeared, and he went off to find his gran. This was very good news in his eyes, news worth sharing.
Hermione was sat on her bed, reading a book. She had already started her homework that morning, but decided that she wanted a break, and decided to read The Lord of the Rings. She had barely stated the book however, when a snowy white owl which she recognized as Hedwig from the moment she flew in, landed on her desk, she looked like she had been travelling for some time, so Hermione got up and poured a bit of water into a bowl for her. She hooted happily and began drinking. Hermione carefully removed the package from the owl's foot, and going by the form of it, she could guess what it was.
She quickly unwrapped it, and examined her wand, checking to see if there were any changes in it, but she didn't notice any which disappointed her, she was rather interested in seeing how it was done. After Hedwig had finished drinking, Hermione made her way downstairs. She found both her parents in the lounge watching TV.
"Mum, Dad, I've got something to show you." Hermione said excitement clear in her voice. The two Granger adults seemed to have noticed this, and turned around to look st their daughter with a smile.
"What is it dear ?" Ms. Granger asked.
"I can now show you magic, Harry took my wand to a shop where they removed the Trace placed on it which would tell the Ministry of Magic when I do magic, so I can show you now." Hermione replied happily. Both her parents' eyebrows shot up into their hair at this statement. They hadn't even met this Harry Potter, but they both knew that Hermione considered the boy her brother in all but blood.
"But wouldn't that be illegal ?" Mr. Granger asked, Hermione could tell he was curious about the magical world, which meant that Hermione had to answer a lot of questions.
"Well yes and no, I haven't seen anywhere a law saying that one isn't allowed to remove the Trace from their wand, but many people discourage it due to the possible risks involved. But I don't believe there are any risks because otherwise it would be written down. Anyways, want to see some magic ?" Hermione asked. Both Grangers gave eager nods to see what their daughter had learned in the last year of schooling, and not just the theory part.
An hour later, Hermione had shown her parents every spell she could think of, she had shown some of them a few times so that her parents could watch the wand movement too. The two Granger parents were just as happy as Hermione about the Trace being removed, they had enjoyed this show a lot.
