Chapter 27 – Tying up loose ends

As the sun was peaking over the horizon, they put their clothes back on and walked back to the villa. They enjoyed a refreshing breakfast and then took a leisurely shower together before going back to Potter Manor. As soon as they appeared in the lounge, Jekyll appeared with a letter from Gringotts.

Dear Lord and Lady Potter-Black-Bones,

Congratulations on your recent nuptials. Please come by Gringotts at your earliest convenience. I would also like to let you know that we have completed our work at the manor in Cornwall. Miss Black may move in whenever she is ready.

Kind regards,
Griphook

"Guess we have to go back to Gringotts," said Harry with a sigh as he handed the note to Amelia. She read it and nodded.

"Looks that way husband," Amelia responded with a cheeky grin.

"Jekyll." *pop* "Is Narcissa in?" asked Harry.

"Yes Harry, sir," responded the house elf.

"Could you ask her to come down to the lounge please?" asked Harry. Jekyll bowed and popped away. As soon as Jekyll was gone Harry pulled Amelia into his arms.

"I guess I can really call you my lady now," said Harry as he kissed her. Amelia grabbed the back of his head to keep him from pulling away. They kissed until they heard Narcissa gently clearing her throat from the doorway.

"Congratulations to you both. It was a beautiful ceremony." Narcissa said kindly.

"Thank you Narcissa. I wanted to let you know that the work on the manor is complete. We can move you in today if you want." Said Harry.

"That would be great, thank you my – Harry," said Narcissa.

"Oh, before I forget. Winky," called Harry.

"What can Winky do for Master Harry, sir," said Winky in a deep bow.

"Winky, this is your new mistress. Miss Black will be living at Cornwall Manor which is the house I am expecting you to maintain," said Harry sternly.

"Yes Harry sir, Winky will take good care of Mistress Black," said the house elf.

"Great, why don't you go upstairs with Miss Black and help get her things ready to transport. We will be moving you both to the manor this afternoon," responded Harry. Winky nodded enthusiastically and followed Narcissa out of the room. Once they were gone Harry pulled Amelia back into his arms.

"What do you think 'Melia, shall we go to Gringotts and get that out of the way, then we can come back here?" Harry whispered into her ear seductively.

"Hmm, I would love nothing more my love" said Amelia as she pulled away. "but unfortunately, I cannot put off meeting with Kingsley, so I will need to go into the ministry at least for a little while. How about after Gringotts I leave you to help Narcissa move and then I'll make sure I'm home for dinner and the rest of the night I will be all yours."

"That's fine Amelia, I suppose I can go a few hours without you if I must," said Harry as he wrapped his arms around her and apparated them both to Diagon Alley.

In Griphook's office they signed their newly minted marriage license and the forms giving Harry access to the Bones vault, properties, and assets. Then Amelia received her matching counterpart to Harry's house rings, moving her engagement ring to the other hand, and Harry then added the Bones house ring to his collection. Their business was done quickly, and they left Gringotts only fifteen minutes after they walked in.

"Wow, I think that's the least amount of time we've ever spent there," said Harry as they left the bank. Amelia laughed and kissed him thoroughly.

"I'll see you for dinner," She said and then she went to the ministry while Harry headed back to Potter Manor. He met Narcissa in the lounge with Winky, all of her things packed and ready to go. They floo'd to the Cornwall Manor and looked around at the repairs.

"They did good work. It looks great," said Harry after he finished a walkthrough. "I imagine you already know how you want to decorate?"

"Yes, I've been thinking about it," said Narcissa excitedly. Harry nodded.

"I look forward to seeing what you do with it. I do hope you'll be happy here Narcissa. If you get lonely feel free to come to Potter Manor for a visit," said Harry.

"I'm sure I'll visit often, especially once the little ones arrive," responded Narcissa causing Harry to blush deeply. He quickly changed the subject.

"I would like to put the manor under the Fidelius charm if that's alright. At least for now. I would like to have someplace for Draco to go if my plan regarding Voldemort should go bad, as my plans usually do," he said with a self-deprecating grin.

"Alright." Said Narcissa. Harry nodded and performed the spell. Then he wrote the address on a piece of parchment and handed it to Narcissa. After she read the note, she burned it. Harry gave her a quick hug and then walked back to the fireplace. Before he stepped into the fireplace, he turned back to Narcissa.

"I'll be talking to Snape soon about my plans for Voldemort. I can let him know where you're at if you'd like?" said Harry.

"That would be great Harry, thank you. You know, he's not as bad as he seems. If you give him a chance," responded Narcissa. Harry nodded.

"I'll try. Have a good rest of the day Narcissa. Let me know if you need anything," said Harry and then with a quick squeeze of her hand, he was gone.

When he got back to Potter Manor he went for a run and then did some spell practice in Charlus' training room until he was too exhausted to continue. He had a light lunch and then took a shower before heading to the library and sitting down in his usual spot to read. Amelia found him there when she got home from the ministry and quickly joined him, sitting across his lap with her arms draped around his neck.

"Did you get Narcissa settled then?" she asked after giving him an enthusiastic kiss.

"Yes. The goblins did a good job. How were things at the ministry?" asked Harry as he put his book aside.

"Fine, as expected killing 50 death eaters creates a lot of paperwork, but Kingsley is working on it. I'm glad that's not my job anymore. However, coming up with a plausible story for why the minister of magic was there in the first place will be the hard part," explained Amelia. Harry nodded.

"Would you like to see my memory of what happened after Bellatrix hit me with that killing curse?" asked Harry.

"I'd love too," said Amelia as she leaned down and gave him a gentle kiss. He grabbed her hand and took her to his office where he pulled his grandfather's pensieve out of the storage closet. He thought of his time in limbo and plucked the memory stands out with his wand and put them into the pensieve. When he was done, they both stuck their heads into the basin.

When they came back out Amelia had tears in her eyes. "I'm so glad you got that time with them and the chance to say goodbye to Sirius. I know it has been hard on you that you didn't get that chance. And your mother was right," said Amelia. Harry looked at her questioningly.

"I have known you love me for a long time. I can tell by the way you act when we are together, and it was confirmed when I saw your Fiendfyre form, but it is the best feeling in the world to hear you say it out loud. When I said it, I always hoped someday you would say it return, but I knew you needed to get there in your own time," said Amelia with a hint of sadness in her voice.

"I'm sorry I was such a prat Amelia," said Harry as he walked over and took her in his arms. "I love you, and I am the happiest man in the world to have you as my wife." Amelia smiled sincerely at him.

"Can I ask you something?" said Amelia.

"Sure," said Harry.

"What was that paper Sirius handed to you? Are you going to finally tell me what you and Hermione have been spending all those hours in the library working on?" Asked Amelia curiously with a soft smirk. Harry laughed gently.

"I hadn't said anything because I wasn't sure if we would ever be able to figure it out, but yes I will tell you." He led Amelia over to the sofa and gestured for her to sit down next to him. "We've been trying to find a way to use the dark mark to track death eaters. We made an interactive map of England and had a way of getting the tracking spell into the dark mark, but we haven't been able to get it to spread the way we want it to. It will spread, from one mark to others, but it takes ages so we knew it wouldn't get very far before Voldemort shut it down. Sirius gave us the piece we're missing to make it all work, particularly now that I wouldn't be able to use my link with Voldemort like we had originally planned. He was right, without that it would have taken us many years to find another way, even if we did figure out how to get it to spread soon." Amelia nodded in understanding and curved her legs so that she could cuddle into his side better.

"So when it works, we will be able to look at this map Hermione made and see where anyone with the dark mark is?" questioned Amelia.

"Yes, that's the idea. I don't think it works if the place is under the Fidelius charm, but I don't imagine many of Voldemort's supporters have bothered with that sort of protection, especially since they don't even know we can find them yet. It just means when we use it, we'll have to act quickly enough that we don't give them a chance to realize it," finished Harry. Amelia nodded enthusiastically.

"That's fantastic Harry. I'm excited to see this in action. I'll get the Aurors ready for more raids and have them start working on some related tactical training then I'll..." Harry listened in contentment as Amelia talked about everything she would do with Harry's idea. Eventually she stopped talking and pulled him in for a tender lingering kiss.

"Thank you for sharing that memory with me." She said when she pulled away.

"You're welcome. Shall we eat some dinner and then go to bed early. I do have to go back to Hogwarts tomorrow," said Harry wiggling his eyebrows suggestively. Amelia laughed.

"Sounds like a wonderful plan to me, husband," said Amelia as she stood and put her hand out for Harry to help him up.

o – o – o – o – o

The next morning Harry went back to Hogwarts early as Amelia had to go into the ministry. He ate his breakfast with his friends while he read his marriage announcement in the daily prophet.

"Well, that was almost nice," said Harry with a smirk. "Hermione must have had an interesting chat with Rita," he thought.

After they finished breakfast, they all headed to DADA. Harry thought about everything Narcissa had told him while he watched Snape sulk around the room. "I'm going to have to talk to him at some point, but I really don't feel like it today." He thought. After potions, Slughorn stopped him before he could sneak out.

"I am disappointed that you missed my party Harry?" said Horace.

"I'm very sorry Professor, it was an emergency that could not be avoided," replied Harry.

"Like getting married," said Slughorn with a smirk.

"Yes, something like that." Harry responded with a smile.

"I understand Harry, but I hope you will make the next one," said Horace.

"I will do my best professor," answered Harry. He spent the rest of the day studying in the library with Hermione, Neville, and Susan. Then he went back to his quarters. He laid in his bed alone, desperately missing having Amelia lying beside him.

o - o - o - o - o

It took over a week before he was able to meet with Hermione and Professor Flitwick. The three of them finally found time after Charms the next Thursday. Once they were settled in Flitwick's office Harry told them about jumping in front of Bellatrix' killing curse to protect Amelia and his time in limbo. When he was finished, they were both staring at him with wide eyes and Hermione was wiping tears from her cheeks.

"That's why you got married so abruptly?" Said Hermione.

"Yes," responded Harry. Hermione nodded in understanding and changed the subject back to why they were there.

"Can we see his note then?" asked Hermione enthusiastically. She desperately wanted to see what they had missed. Harry nodded and pulled the note out of his pocket and handed it to Hermione. She quickly read it and then handed it to Professor Flitwick.

"It's a modified cascading charm." She said in surprise. "It's so brilliantly simple."

"The spell can recognize a specific magical signature so if we combine it with the tracking spell it should work perfectly," said Harry with a smile.

"Yes I think it will," said Flitwick excitedly. "We can do a few simple tests now, but we should test this on a larger scale to see how it will work in a more realistic scenario. You need to know how quickly it can reach a large number of marks as well how recognizable it is to the owner of the magical signature since you don't have the link anymore." Harry nodded

"We could do it during our next DA meeting on Wednesday. We know enough about the dark mark to give everyone something similar, but temporary. Then we can test it. Hermione, can you make a simple version of the map before then? It would just need to show the room we are in. We can use that empty classroom on the fourth floor," finished Harry.

"Yes I can do that." Said Hermione.

"You will need to get everyone's consent Harry. I will ask Minerva to come along as well in case something goes unexpectedly." Harry nodded.

"I will ask Amelia as well. She said she wanted to be there when I use it, so I'm sure she'd like to see it tested," said Harry.

"Very well then, we will test it on Wednesday." Said Professor Flitwick in excitement.

After Transfiguration on Friday, Harry went home to Potter Manor to spend the weekend with Amelia. Hermione was there on Saturday as usual and Narcissa joined them for lunch on Sunday. Between studying for his quickly approaching NEWTS and completing his homework Harry found he didn't have much free time and Wednesday came quickly. Once all the year 6-7 DA members were gathered in the unused classroom Harry explained what he wanted to do. There were about 50 people there so it would be a decent sample size to test their charm.

"We are going to do something a bit different today. I'll explain what I would like to do. If you decide you do not want to participate you are more than welcome to leave or stand to the side and watch, but if you do agree to participate you will need to give your verbal permission to either Professor McGonagall or Professor Flitwick. So, Professor Flitwick, Hermione and I have developed a way to track the dark mark, but we need to test it before we can actually use it. What I would like to do is place a temporary mark on the back of your hand. It will be completely painless, and it will fade away in about twenty minutes. Both Hermione and myself have tried it. Then Professor Flitwick will say a spell and Hermione will record some information. You won't feel anything. All you have to do is stand there. I know we aren't giving you a lot of information, but for now it's better that way. So, if you are willing to participate, please let one of the professors know and then line up here in front of me." All but three DA members agreed to help and lined up. "Wow, they trust me more than I expected," thought Harry. Just then Amelia and Dumbledore came walking in. Harry gave Dumbledore a nod as he went to stand next to Professor McGonagall and then he motioned Amelia over.

"After I place the marks, I am going to leave the room. As soon as Flitwick does the incantation, I want you start timing. Stop when I come back into the room," said Harry. Amelia nodded in understanding.

"Alright is everyone ready?" asked Harry. They all nodded. Harry walked over to each person and placed a mark on their hand. When he was done, he left the room.

Once Harry left Flitwick waited a few minutes and then randomly chose one of the volunteers and touched their mark with his wand while whispering the incantation. Everyone looked around expecting something to happen, but nothing did. It was eerily silent. However, as soon as Flitwick finished the incantation small black dots started rapidly appearing on the parchment Hermione was holding and she let out an excited squeal. The volunteers looked at her in confusion.

Outside, Harry was pacing along the hallway in nervousness when he started to feel a strange vibrating sensation in his magic. He quickly ran back into the room. "Stop timing, Amelia," he called as he entered. She nodded and dropped her wand.

"How long?" asked Harry.

"About two minutes," responded Amelia.

"Hermione?" he asked.

"They are all on here," she said excitedly. Harry nodded and turned to Professor Flitwick.

"Professor Flitwick, was it Justin Finch-Fletchley's mark you placed the charm on," asked Harry.

"It was." Responded Flitwick. Harry nodded

"Thank you, everybody. Professors Dumbledore and McGonagall have agreed to stay and work with you on some defence tactics. I have some things to attend to, but I will see you all next week," said Harry. The volunteers nodded to him and then gathered around Dumbledore and McGonagall. Harry took this opportunity to sneak out of the room, Flitwick, Hermione, and Amelia hot on his heels.

"I can't believe it works," said Amelia once they were in the hallway. "This will give us a great tactical advantage Harry."

"I know," said Harry with an unenthusiastic sigh. "I just have to go do something I've been avoiding. I'll meet you back in my quarters Amelia. Thanks for your help Hermione, Professor Flitwick."

"It was a delight to work on this with you Lord Potter-Black-Bones. Let me know if you have any other charms you want to develop." Said Flitwick as he left for his office. Harry nodded. Hermione went back into the classroom and Amelia gave him a gentle kiss before leaving him in the hallway. Harry slowly found his way to Snape's office and took a deep breath before knocking on the door.

"Enter," he heard Snape call, clearly irritated at being interrupted. He looked up with a sneer when he saw who entered.

"Everyone may think you are some kind of defence prodigy Potter, but that does not give you an excuse to keep missing my class." said Snape harshly.

"You will notice that I have kept up with all of the assignments I have missed, Professor, and turned in nothing but exemplary work. That's not why I'm here," said Harry as he walked around the room taking in the random objects, annoying Severus even more.

"What do you want then Potter?" he sneered.

"I have developed a way to track people with the dark mark," said Harry nonchalantly. Snape's eyebrows rose in a mix of curiosity and suspicion.

"The only problem is that Voldemort will know what I've done and whose dark mark I used as the host so to speak. He won't know soon enough to stop me, but if he had any doubt which side Draco is on, I imagine there won't be any after I am done. He will not be safe. The manor Narcissa is staying at is under the Fidelius charm. After we initiate the cascade, I will be taking Draco there until I have finished my business with Voldemort."

"What does this have to do with me Potter?" Asked Snape through gritted teeth as he watched Harry walk around his office and pick up various objects and look closer at them. Harry could tell he was annoying Snape that's why he was doing it, but he stopped and sat down in front of the desk instead.

"You made a vow to complete his task if he couldn't, did you not?" asked Harry. Snape said nothing. Harry sighed. "You catch more bees with honey," he thought.

"The reason I am here is because Narcissa will never forgive me if I put Draco in any more danger, so I will need you to complete the task Voldemort has given him," said Harry.

"You want me to bring you to the Dark Lord?" Asked Snape in disbelief.

"Well, I was originally going to ask you to kill me, but since the Horcrux in my forehead is taken care of you'll have to be satisfied with transporting me to my death instead," said Harry with a cheeky grin.

"The Horcrux in your scar?" Snape said as he came over and lifted Harry's hair to look closely at his forehead. "That is why the Dark Lord was in so much pain that day? You died?"

"I did," said Harry, refusing to elaborate further. Snape looked at him intently and then went back to his seat.

"Fine, I will take you the Dark Lord when you request it," said Snape as he motioned for Harry to leave, but Harry didn't move.

"There's one more thing I need you to do." Said Harry.

"I'm not sure you're in much of a place to be making demands of me Potter." Said Snape. Harry sighed in frustration.

"I know about the life debt to my father and Narcissa told me how much you love my mother. She claims you are a better man then I believe you to be. I would be perfectly happy if we never saw each other again after I left Hogwarts. I don't like you any more than you like me, but if you do what I ask of you I will consider your life debt paid and we can go our separate ways as much as Narcissa will allow us to," said Harry with as much patience as he could muster.

"Go on," said Severus.

"When you take me to Voldemort, I need you to kill Nagini. As quickly as possible. What you do after that I don't really care," said Harry. Snape looked at him in surprise, but said nothing. "She is the last Horcrux," expanded Harry.

"I had wondered, he is unusually protective of her." Said Snape. Harry nodded.

"If you succeed and you manage to escape before Voldemort kills you, I will give you my blessing with Narcissa. She says I should give you a chance. I just hope someday you will do the same for me and realize that I am not my father," said Harry with finality. Snape didn't say anything, he just scowled but Harry figured the lack of insults meant he was trying. Harry stood up to leave.

"I will kill the snake," Snape said softly as Harry reached the door. Harry nodded and returned to his desk to write the address of the Cornwall Manor on a sheet of parchment.

"Don't hurt her," he said as he handed the parchment to Snape. Once he watched it burn, he left the office.

When he got back to his quarters, he found Amelia on the sofa reading a book as she waited for him. Harry gave her a chaste kiss and then sat down beside her.

"When we use the spell, Voldemort will know, but it will be too late for him to do anything about it, but we should still be prepared for retaliation," said Harry once he sat down. Amelia nodded.

"I was thinking the same thing. We should be as methodical about it as possible, we should have teams of Aurors ready and as soon as you do the spell send them to the locations showing up on the map. If we act quickly, they won't have time to rally before we lock most of them up," responded Amelia.

"That's a great idea Amelia. How long do you need to get the Aurors ready to move?" Harry asked.

"Three maybe four days," responded Amelia.

"Alright how about we do it on Sunday then?" asked Harry.

"That should work," said Amelia as she moved her feet onto his lap. Harry started massaging her legs and feet aimlessly as he told Amelia the rest of his plan.

"When Voldemort concludes that Draco is my spy, which he will, I think he will send others after me. We should end this sooner rather than later. I think we should give the twins two weeks to send as many pins as they can and then we should take the fight to Voldemort. I have already talked to Snape, h will pretend to capture me and bring me to Voldemort. Once there I will activate the pins. Severus has agreed to take care of the snake, and once that is done, I will finish off Voldemort once and for all," said Harry.

"I don't like the idea of you going in there alone, but the pins make me feel better about the whole thing, and honestly, I'm as desperate as you are to end this, and I don't have any better ideas. We can do it your way, love," said Amelia. Harry looked at her in surprise. "Well, that went better than I thought it would," he thought.

When he was finished with Amelia's massage, Harry went and wrote a letter to the Weasley twins asking them to send as many pins as they could in the next two weeks. Then he joined his new wife in bed. The next morning, Harry woke up to a response.

Sure thing, Harrikins.

Later that day he ran into Draco and pulled him aside to talk to him.

"On Sunday I am going to use your dark mark to put a tracking charm into all the dark marks, that way Amelia can find where the remaining death eaters are hiding. Once I do this Voldemort will know it was your dark mark I used. I don't imagine he will want you alive after that and I'm not sure he'd believe you if you told him I forced you. Your mother will never forgive me if I let anything happen to you, so as soon as we are done you will go stay with her until I've taken care of Voldemort. It shouldn't be more than a couple weeks. Snape will bring me to Voldemort in your stead," said Harry. Draco nodded in relief and then they went their separate ways.

On Friday morning Ron and Ginny returned to Hogwarts. They were both eagerly greeted by the quidditch team. Harry vowed to do his best to keep Ron busy when they weren't in class or studying. "I guess I'll be spending a lot of time playing wizards chess," he thought.

o – o – o – o – o

After lunch on Sunday, Harry and Draco floo'd to Potter Manor. Harry wrote the address of the Cornwall Manor on a sheet of parchment and then handed it to Draco.

"Burn it once you've read it." He said.

"I know Potter," responded Draco with a sneer.

"Now, as soon as I have cast the charm on your mark you should go there. Do not leave the manor until I come to retrieve you," instructed Harry.

"Fine," said Draco annoyed. They floo'd directly to Amelia's office to avoid the wand and dark mark check. When they stepped out of the fireplace, they found it filled with Scrimgeour, Shacklebolt and about 15 Aurors that Harry didn't recognize. As soon as they noticed him, they all went still and silent. Amelia came over and gave him a soft kiss before pulling the both of them over to her desk.

"I have 15 teams of 10 Aurors and about 30 on standby to escort the death eaters brought in to temporary cells so that the groups can just head right back out." Amelia told him before she turned to the lead Aurors milling around her office.

"Alright people, we are ready to go. The head of the floo oversight department owes me a favour so he's going to shut down the floo network for 30 minutes for maintenance. We need to get as many as we can in that time frame. Remember to put up anti-portkey and anti-apparition wards as soon as you arrive," reminded Amelia. Everyone nodded.

"Good, then gather your teams and meet me in the bullpen in 5," yelled Amelia as she took Hermione's map from Harry. When they got to the bullpen there were 15 rows of Aurors standing in formation. Each team's commander standing in front awaiting orders.

"Let's do this," said Amelia with barely concealed glee. Harry nodded and asked Draco to reveal his arm. Many of the Aurors eyed Draco suspiciously when they saw the dark mark, but Amelia's stern glare kept them from saying anything. Harry gave Draco a reassuring nod and then he placed his wand against his marked forearm.

"CONTACTUS AEGROGUM SEMITA," he whispered. The dark mark flashed for a moment and then suddenly Amelia gasped as little dots started to appear on the map she was holding. Harry nodded to Draco who immediately left for the Cornwall manor.

"Group One…..Nott Manor…..Group Two...the Parkinson property...Group Three...the Carrows shack." Amelia continued on until all of the groups had been dispatched.

"I'll leave you to it my love. I have a lot of studying to do," said Harry when she finally took a breath. Amelia nodded and kissed Harry gratefully.

"Tell Hermione she's a genius." Said Amelia.

"Very well, should I give her a kiss as well," asked Harry cheekily. Amelia rolled her eyes.

"Just go. I'll stop by your quarters later and let you know how it went," said Amelia. Harry kissed her goodbye and then returned to Hogwarts.

Late that night a giddy Amelia walked out of the fireplace and into his quarters. She immediately pulled him off the sofa and led him into the bedroom, much to the surprise of a blushing Hermione that Amelia was too occupied to notice sitting in a plush chair nearby. Hermione quickly gathered her things and headed back to the common room, assuming correctly that they wouldn't be coming back out.

Afterwards, as they laid in bed sweaty and panting Harry kissed her tenderly. "I'm guessing things went well then?" he asked.

"We managed to bring in about 100 death eaters before the floo opened up again. We kept going until they caught on that we were tracking them somehow, and started to move around to quickly for us to catch them. I imagine there are at least a few homes under the Fidelius, so the map is being monitored and if any new dots appear a group will be sent to bring them in. We'll give them a chance to fall back into a sense of false security and then we'll go after the ones we missed tonight. Every shift will focus on bringing in more until we've got them all. It'd be great if the only one there when Snape brings you in is Voldemort. I know it's unlikely, but if we don't give him enough time to build up his numbers again then at least we might have a chance of overpowering his remaining forces," said Amelia.

"I'm glad it went well. Causalities?" asked Harry.

"None on our side," said Amelia in relief. Harry nodded.

o – o – o – o – o

Over the next two weeks Harry barely saw Amelia, she pretty much lived at the ministry helping with raids. He was worried about her, she seemed more tired than usual and was often grumpy with him when they did see each other. He wasn't sure what he'd done wrong. Finally, the day before he planned to present himself to Voldemort Amelia showed up in his quarters to spend some time with him. He was happy to see her, but he noticed how fatigued she looked and that made him worry even more.

The next morning Amelia woke Harry up by running to the bathroom to throw up. He quickly jumped out of bed, pulled a pair of trousers on, and followed her.

"Are you okay Amelia?" asked Harry gently as he held back her hair and rubbed her back soothingly. When she moved back from the toilet, he helped her into her robe and looked at her in concern.

"I - I think so," she said, but then her eyes rolled back into her head and she passed out. Harry swiftly picked her up and carried her to the hospital wing.

"Madam Pomfrey! I don't know what is wrong with her. She was throwing up and then she just passed out," said Harry frantically as he laid Amelia on a bed. Madam Pomfrey rushed over and ran a diagnostic spell.

"She's exhausted, dehydrated, and a little malnourished, so she clearly hasn't been eating right. She's been overdoing it Mr. Potter, but she will be fine, and the baby seems to be fine as well." She said happily as she doubled checked everything.

"Baby?" said Harry in surprise.

"Yes, Amelia is pregnant," said Madam Pomfrey. Then she waved her wand again. "About five or six weeks by my estimation."

"Pregnant." Said Harry in amazement as he sat down next to her bed.

"I'll give her a nutritional supplement and a hydration potion, then she should wake up soon," said Madam Pomfrey. Harry nodded. A half an hour later Amelia woke.

"Where are we?" she asked groggily.

"In the hospital wing." Said Harry as he took her hand in his.

"What happened?" asked Amelia.

"You were throwing up and then you passed out," responded Harry as he squeezed her hand gently.

"I did?" she asked in concern.

"Madam Pomfrey says you've been overdoing it and that you should take better care of yourself given your condition. I happen to agree," said Harry seriously.

"Condition?" asked Amelia.

"You're pregnant Amelia," said Harry with a wide smile. Amelia gasped.

"We're going to have a baby," she said in awe as tears filled her eyes.

"You're not coming with me," said Harry suddenly in a serious tone.

"What?" asked Amelia in confusion.

"Tonight, I need you to sit this one out Amelia. You've worked hard bringing in the death eaters, there are hardly any left on the map. Have the Aurors ready to go and let me finish this so that we and our baby can live in peace. If you are there with our baby, I will be too distracted and that's when bad things happen. I need to go alone Amelia, please don't push me on this." Amelia sighed.

"I don't like it, but I understand. Just promise me you will leave as soon as you finish Tom. The Aurors can clean up the mess," responded Amelia.

"I promise," he said as he leaned in for a kiss.

A/N - There will be one more chapter of this story and then an epilogue. This is the first fanfiction I have ever written, and I definitely learned a lot. Thank you for all the helpful feedback. Thank you for joining me on this journey! FYI, I have started a new story, if you are interested in joining me on that journey as well!
