Disclaimers: I do not own Fairy Tail.A/N: Okay, I'm almost done with work and will some be home to my laptop to finish my stories. This is all from my phone.

Asuka Connell couldn't believe the crappy luck she was having.. This morning was her first solo job outside Magnolia...at eighteen. The average guild mage gets their first solo job out of town at twelve or thirteen, but after what happen thirteen years ago her parents, as well as pretty much all the veterans of Fairy Tail, weren't too keen on letting her go past Magnolia's borders alone and it took so much begging and convincing on her part to finally get them to let up.

Her job was in Mulay Village and she miss her inital train due to overstepping and had to catch a later one, costing her quite a bit of jewel to do so.

Then when she finally got there she had to convince the mayor to let her still do the job, which was deal with some bandits who were stealing the farmers' crops. When he allow her to, she was quickly able to find their hideout thanks to the tracking skills her father taught her and she easily subdue them and turn them over to the proper authorities.

That streak of good luck ended quickly as she miss the train back home once again and had to catch the late one and she promised her parents she would be back before the sun went down.

But gods above, that train broke down halfway home due to the engine overheating and she had to walk the rest of the way in the dead of night.

And directly into a Mountain Vulcan hunting party.

And while she was easily able to avoid their attacks, they could tank her weak spells and the fatigue from today's events were starting to catch up with her, making her slower and sloppy. But she couldn't fall here, not on her first job, and definitely not with the lustful look the Vulcans were giving her. Asuka has heard the tales of what happens to women capture by Mountaim Vulcans and it was a well known fact that they didn't care if she was dead or alive.

Asuka had no intention of ending up like that

Or so she thought until she times a landing wrong and finds herself falling flat on the ground with a Vulcan barrelling down at her, his fist reel back and ready to pummel her.

That was before it stop in its tracks, its large free hand press down on the ground right next to her head, and Asuka could see an expression akin to shock and confusion etch on its face as it slowly looked up.

Curiousty getting the best of her, Asuka tilts her head to see what exactly the beast was looking at.

Whoever they were, their entire body was covered in a black cloak so perfectly match with the night that it was only due to the light of the moon that she was able to see them. They stroll directly toward Asuka and the Vulcan directly above her with no hesitation in their steps as if they knew exactly they were getting into against a tribe of Vulcans and didn't care in the slightest.

"What are they doing?", Asuka whisper to herself as the figure came to a stop just a few feet from scene.

Then suddenly to Asuka's amazement the Vulcan began tonslowly back up away from her.

"You have got to be shitting me", Asuka told herself as she watch the beast slowly move backwards to the rest of its tribe which was forming a line behind him.

She then looks back at the man who merely motions his head over his shoulder.

Without a second thought, Asuka finds herself shuffling backwards to the man though her focus was split between him and Vulcans who were staring menacingly and she couldn't even see the stranger's face. Soon she was right next to him and he slowly stroll past her and toward the Vulcans who seem to be working themselves into a frenzy as one of them, most likely the alpha male, began to beat his chest only for the rest of them to follow suit until it blended into a steady rhythm that carry into the night.

It takes a moment for the cowgirl to find her voice but when she does.

"Are you out of your cactus picking mind?! Just what exactly do you think you're going to do?!"

The man says nothing as the alpha male seem to be finish with his display of strength and charges toward the mysterious stranger, his primal cries carrying through the air, with his heavy arms raise above his head. The man just kept walking toward the Vulcan, the speed of his steps never changing.

"Hey! Get out of there!" Asuka shouts as she brings her revolvers up just as the hulking primate leaps at the man, but she couldn't get a clear shot in them.

And that's when she see something flash in the moonlight, the reflection so bright that it blinded her for a sec. When she regain her sight the man was still walking only this time it was toward the main body of Vulcans.

"Where did the other one go?", Asuka asks herself, baffle about the fact that such large creature sudden disappear. But that was when she noticed a huge mound in front of her that wasn't there before. Curious about it she approach it with both pistols aimed at it.

When she got closer she found herself horrified and surprise as she was staring down into the eyes of the alpha male Vulcan, only his head was detached from the rest his body.

"No way", Asuka whispers as she notices that the neck was cleanly cut, as though the beheading was done with a blade, "Where does he keep a sword?"

A roar snaps Asuka out of her thoughts and she looks up to see a scene straight out a horror lacrima. Severed limbs, decapitated heads, and Vulcan bodies littered the field and right in the middle of a circle of five hulking beast was the mysterious stranger easily evading every blow that was thrown at him. He was so nimble that he was actually making the creatures hit one another whenever he move out of the way of a punch or duck down to avoid a clothesline.

"I could barely avoid getting hit and that took everything I had but he is making it look easy and I have yet to see him summon a spell circle!", Asuka told herself as, " What kind of a man takes on an entire tribe of Vulcans with no magic? Even Natsu and Laxus use the occasional fire and lightning spell!"

As she watch the speculate, she notices that every now and then something flash in the moonlight around the general area of the man's hand; every time it did another Vulcan's limb or head with flying. Asuka also took note of the fact that the remaining Vulcans were starting to realize that this was one fight they weren't going to win and turned to flee the clearing, escaping and leaving behind any of their brethren too wounded to escape themselves.

Within moments, the only two living things remaining in the clearing were Asuka and the stranger that saved her life. There was a sea of blood and body parts between the two of them and the smell was nearly overwhelming.

"Girl,", the stranger spoke in a low masculine voice while looking up at the moon, paying very little attention to the person he was addressing, "You best be heading home. The forest is a dangerous place at night for someone like you and I'm sure your parents are worried sick about you."

And when that he started to walk away towards the woods, leaving a shocked Fairy Tail mage in his wake who could only stare at his retreating back in return.

As soon as he was sure he was out of Asuka's sight Romeo turns around and ducks down to make sure that she didn't follow him. Luckily, the girl began to head toward Magnolia instead.

"I have confirm that the Vulcans have fully retreated. I followed them for some time to make sure, Pup", Rhew states as he appears next to the summoner who gives a nod in return.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's all fine and dandy", Kasai interrupts as he appears on the opposite side of Romeo before putting his face directly next to his, "Care to tell us what in the Nine Hells was all that you just pulled?"

"What?", Romeo asks, "I can't save someone who I see as a little sister?"

"Oh no, you can do that all freaking day if you want. What I want to know is what was all that "you best get home" crap you were pulling?", Kasai replies.

"Hey, it sounded cool in my head, okay? It was all I could think of on the spot!", Romeo argues.

"You could have just said nothing", Kasai points out.

"I am in agreement with Kasai", Rhew intersects, "Perhaps you would have been better off with silence in this situation."

"Oh yes, because being the silent type after slaughtering a entire Vulcan tribe is definitely going to make me look trustworthy!", Romeo snaps.

Meanwhile, while Romeo and his spirits were arguing well into the night, Asuka was just walking through the front door at the Connell residence.

And was instantly swarm by her parents.

First up was her father whose hair was starting to show signs of gray due to the stress of raising a teenage daughter along with a number if other factors, the main one being having to take on enough guild jobs to feed a family of five. He was still wearing the same poncho he has been having for years only it was now starting to fade due to wear and tear along with the constant washing.

Behind him and holding up Asuka's twin siblings, Shinji and Rei, was Bisca who looked just as tired as the five-year olds in her arms. No one was more surprise than the cowgirl, other than her husband, the day Porlyusica told her that she was pregnant again, this time with twins. She had since ditch the bikini top and skirt after she finally accepted that after having three kids she could no longer dress in that manner and just accept that her figure just wasn't what it used to be. Instead, she was wearing body length sleeveless leather dress that went down to her ankle though she still carried a revolver on the back of her waist after she gave her favorite rifle to her oldest daughter.

"Asuka, where have you been, young lady?!", Alzack shouts as he walks briskly over to her, "You were suppose to be home hours ago! Laxus was ready to form a search party to go looking for you and I was going to let him!"

"Daaaaaaadddd!", Asuka whine, "I'm fine! There was no reason for you to even go that far!"

"Well everyone was worried about you! Mira, Levy, and Lucy are all waiting on me to call them to tell them that you're home safe!", Bisca step in as Shinji and Rei began to wake up from the shouting, though they seem happy to see their big sister, "You promise to be home before the sun went down!"

"The train broke down and I had to walk home", Asuka began to explain but her statement did little to make matters better.

Why didn't you stay on the train then? It would have been much safer!", Azlack questions.

"Because who knows how long it would have taken to fix", Asuka argues, "I could have been there all night!"

Alzack was about to say something when he notices a stain on Asuka's poncho. He had made her one when her….figure started to come in. She obviously inherited all of her mother's curves and he was quick to make sure that she was covered up although he lost the battle with her skirt; he wanted her to wear full-on pants but his wife took their daughter's side and there was nothing he could do though he was able to make it a long skirt.

Anyway, upon closer examination he realizes that there was a number of bloodstains all over the poncho. Not human blood but the distinct red and blue mix of….

"Mountain Vulcan", he said aloud, "Asuka, why do you have Mountain Vulcan blood on you?"

Asuka closes her eyes and let out a breath. She had been hoping, praying, that they wouldn't notice that but it seem the gods were paying no heed to her prayers.

"Well, young lady", she heard her mom say, "We're waiting."

"Might as well go the Fairy Tail way and dive straight in", Asuka told herself, "I was attack by a tribe of Vulcans just a bit before the outskirts of town."

Back in the forest, the arguement/discussion between Romeo, Kasai, and Rhew was interrupted by a loud screech emitting from Magnolia.

"Well, I'm going to have to get my eardrums fix in the morning", Asuka says as she recovers from her parents' panic attack. Shinji and Rei look extremely annoyed by this and were on the verge of tears. Luckily, Bisca notices this and moves to calm them down, leaving Asuka to only have to deal with her father.

"A tribe of vulcans this close to Magnolia and you were attack by them?!", Alzack booms as he began checking over Asuka frantically, looking for any wounds.

"Daaaaaadddddd, I'm fine!", Asuka whines again, "They didn't even touch me!"

"And do you mind telling me how exactly you achieve that?", Bisca whispers harshly just as the twins were starting to go back to sleep, "Asuka dear, you're a capable mage for your age but I have my doubts about you taking on an entire tribe of vulcans by yourself."

"Geez, thanks Mom for the boost in confidence. Anyway, full speed ahead", Asuka now thought before speaking, "I didn't take them on all by myself. A stranger came by and help me."

Alzack and Bisca exchange looks for a moment, as if though neither one of them could believe what they just heard and were looking toward the other for confirmation.

"What stranger?", Alzack finally asks.

"I didn't catch his name, I didn't even see his face. He wore a black cloak that blended in perfectly with the darkness and if it wasn't for the moon, I never would have saw him nor heard him", Asuka explains, her voice entering a trance-like state as she recalls, "He only spoke once and that was to tell me to go home after he was done with the tribe."

"Done with the tribe?", Bisca repeats.

"I never seen anything like it. He straight up slaughtered them. No magic whatsoever but he must have had a small sword or something because he was slicing off heads and limbs left and right", Asuka kept going, "I'm pretty sure he killed a good chuck of the tribe before they ran away."

"Then what did he do?", Alzack asks after a moment of silence.

"He stared up at the moon and told me to go home; didn't even look my way when he did. After that, he walked into the woods and I decided to take his advice", Asuka finished.

Alzack look out the windows at the front of the house, as if expecting a mysterious figure to be on the other side looking through at them.

"How about you go get wash up and go to bed, dear? Seem like you had a long day", he then told Asuka who merely nodded in return and move pass him to the stairs. He waited until the door to the upstairs bathroom opened and closed before turning to look at his wife.

"I don't know what to be more worried about; our daughter getting attacked by a tribe of Mountain Vulcans this close to town or the fact that she was saved by a random stranger who butchered the lot of them before disappearing into the woods", Alzack spoke.

"We should bring this up to Laxus and the mayor", Bisca suggested.

"Yeah, I'll do that first thing in the morning", Alzack says, "Why don't you and the twins go to bed? I'm going to stay up a little while longer. I'll call the others too to let them know that Asuka is home."

"Okay, come get me if anything comes up", Bisca said before heading upstairs. Once she was out of sight, Alzack turns one of the chairs in the living room around and has it facing the doorway before sitting down in it. He stay that way for the next three hours with his hand on his gun and his mind deep in thought.

A/N: Will be home soon.
