Izuku

I've found over the years that divine smite comes in many forms. Sometimes it's an asshole father and his boss ripping a piece of you apart, other times it's a trigger happy sadistic baby who is determined to make you into a mafia boss regardless of what you want.

Most recently, it came as a ring. The Vongola Sky Ring to be exact.

The same ring I had hoped I was done with, is sitting innocently in its box on the kitchen table. My first response is to chuck it out the window, and I get half way there before I stop myself and drop it back on the table.

I sigh, letting my head drop into my hands. Even if my intuition is telling me I need the damned thing, it doesn't change the fact that I'm going to punch Kawahira's face in the next time I see him.

However irritated I am with Kawahira, I'm somewhat thankful I have it, when I wake up the day of the trip with my intuition pounding. I have the sinking feeling I'll need the extra power. I'll have to be careful though, my body isn't used to such high output aymore.

I plop down next to Aizawa where he's going over last minute details in the living room

"It's today." I inform him.

He closes his eyes, looking very defeated in that moment. "I'll inform Nedzu and All Might."

"I'll warn Byakuran."

The morning passes in a flurry of last minute preparations. All too soon we're on the bus heading straight for a trap. All Might apparently has come across several instances in which he's been forced to intervene, but has managed to stay a little more than an hour within his time limit. However, he's currently dealing with another incident that won't take long to resolve, but will end up delaying him.

I tap my fingers on the armrest. It shouldn't matter too much, he'll come running when he gets the signal. Byakuran is also waiting nearby, but won't interfere unless absolutely necessary. No one really wants to explain him to the police.

"Are you alright?" Shoto asks, when I zone out for the third time.

"My intuition is acting up." I whisper. He immediately straightens. "I don't know why. I've already told Aizawa but be on your guard. It could be anything."

He nods, fully aware of the implications. Shoto has unfortunately been on the receiving end of my intuition and knows from experience it's not a pleasant place to be.

13-sensei meets us in the entrance way and begins to introduce himself, but I'm not paying any attention to him, solely focused on determining where and when the attack will come.

"Eraserhead." I hastily interrupt 13-sensei's rambling. "Somethings coming."

"Where" He demands, ignoring the others' confusion at the sudden shift. His usual lazy slouch gone, replaced by a calm and attentive bearing. Ready for whatever threat comes our way.

"Over there." I point over to the fountain. "There's a lot of them, roughly a hundred. They're hostile."

"Do we have time to evacuate?"

"No."

"Tch." He scowls. Eye's solely focused on the black mist that's starting to appear. That must be the person that was in the records room. "Kaminari try to get through to the school."

"It's not going through." He answers when he only gets static, panic leaking into his voice.

"Tsuna."

"Right" I push my flames through our bond in the agreed signal and Byakuran's responds in confirmation.

"What is that?" Someone gasps at the black mist spreading through the plaza.

"Quiet." Aizawa snaps. "We're under attack. You will follow orders, disobey and I will expel your ass, if you don't die before that." The first villains start to appear through the mist, making no motion to attack yet.

"13. Protect the students. Tsuna, how many can you drown?"

"I don't know. Maybe a third of them." I'm suddenly happy to have that God forsaken ring, I'd be out of commission after this if I didn't. I light my ring and the gloves shift to their battle mode.

He nods in understanding. "Do it on my mark. Shoto, watch his back."

"Understood."

I carefully move myself behind him so I'm out of the villains line of sight, Shoto right behind me. No need to broadcast who just took out a sizable portion of their force.

"I'll take out the ones on the right. Take that opportunity to escape." I say just loud enough for the others to hear. I doubt everyone will be able to get away, what with the teleporter in their ranks. Some are better than none however, and those who do get away will be able to get help.

"What about you?" Kirishima asks.

"I'll be covering your escape with Eraserhead and Shoto."

"But-"

"Shut up and do what you're told." Aizawa harshly reprimands. "Tsuna. How long."

I push a questioning feeling to Byakuran. "15 tops." I relay.

"It'll have to do." He grimaces in displeasure. "Get ready."

I shift my focus solely on my task, building up the flames I'll need to do this. Watching as the last of them come through the portal. A man with blue hair and disembodied hands covering his face and body, who I suspect is the leader, and someone composed solely of black mist who must be the teleporter are the last ones before the portal closes behind them.

As soon as the mist fully fades, Aizawa gives a swift hand motion behind his back. In response, I let out a tidal wave of flames in the invisible spectrum that crashes into the villains. They collapse like their puppets who have suddenly had their strings cut. I stagger a bit when the exhaustion hits me, this is probably the most flames I've released at once in this life. I nod in thanks when Shoto steadies me from behind.

Not missing a beat, 13-sensei spurs my other classmates towards the exit, taking advantage of the ensuing chaos.

The teleporter unfortunately notices and goes to intercept them while the blue haired man throws a temper tantrum. 13-sensei manages to hold him off for the others to escape. A couple of them get out the door, but Mineta ends up tripping. Resulting in 13 getting distracted, and taking a severe blow to the head, knocking the hero out.

Trusting Aizawa to handle himself for now, I rush over to help with Shoto right behind me. But it's already too late, portals have opened up beneath their feet, swallowing them whole.

"Go!"Aizawa shouts, kneeing some guy in the face. "I'll be fine!"

That's all the permission we need, just as the portal is about to close we both jump through.
