When we came back to reality the kiss ended.

Still it was nice to feel not only his lips but the warmth of his arms again.

"Now he is gone would you like to tell me what really happened ?"

Guy asked me.

"Well it depends on who he is really"

Guy answered by saying he was Sir Jasper,

Envoy to prince John.

The man who held the life of Nottingham in his hands.

"Then I'm afraid I can't tell you."

I said with a hint of sadness in my voice.

He gave me a look.

But knowing Guy as I do,

The truth will have to wait.

All around the courtyard everyone had stopped and was silent.

We both only just noticed it now.

Well we were a little preoccupied a moment ago so you can not blame us really.

"Come I think it would be best if we went inside."

He said and we did.

Quickly.

When we were inside we spoke briefly about this matter with Sir Jasper.

Still I didn't tell him what happened between us.

But I promised him that when it was safe then he will know.

Which he wasn't happy with but if we were going to be man and wife we both must learn to trust each other.

'What about telling secrets ?'

Hush.

Just give that time also.

Back to the matter of Sir Jasper.

Guy said that he has sent guards all over Nottingham and still their was no sign of the sheriff.

Sir Jasper suspected Guy had murdered him.

He would of done it years ago if he could of got away with it.

I suggested.

"Why don't you try swaying him somehow ?

A bribe perhaps ?"

Guy nodded and hurriedly walked off in the direction that the envoy went.

Hopefully it will buy us some time.

Slowly I walked down the stairs and over by one of windows where I waited patiently for anymore news.

Guy's point of view

After a few minutes of hunting for Sir Jasper I finally managed to find him.

He was just casually walking towards one of the many tower windows.

With his hands in his pockets.

"Sir jasper"

I said to catch his attention but he didn't seem to hear me and just carried on walking.

So I continued.

"I think that we could come to some sort of understanding."

Again he just kept walking but gave a slight sigh,

To what I had said no doubt.

"See I know your only acting in the sheriffs best interests and so are we."

He stopped at the window and removed his hands from his pockets.

With a hand now on his hip and the other arm resting on the wall beside the window.

I stopped and stood beside him.

Looking out at the view he stated simply.

"Well your not doing a very good job of it."

Clearly.

'Be calm'

I looked to the right side briefly trying to keep my voice calm and steady before turning my focus back to the side of him.

"The truth is that we just don't know where he is."

Which is true.

"And we need more time"

"Look rules are rules.

If I make an exception for you,

Next thing every other ambitious young captains murdering his sheriff.

Thinking he can get away with it."

I smiled and briefly turned my head to the right at hearing this.

If only it was that simple.

Clearly this stupid man believes that I have killed Vaisey.

Whatever I say won't change that.

Quickly I again focused onto the side of his face.

"I have not murdered the sheriff I can assure you."

I said before I turned my back towards him.

My feet did not move away from the man but slowly turned back towards him.

A quick sigh left my mouth.

'Bribe him'

With a serious hush tone I said.

"I could make you a very rich man."

Silence.

Was he thinking about it ?

"Look if Nottingham or Darby or any other town under prince Johns protection gets raised to the ground. It has to be rebuilt and it so happens that the Royal charter for reconstruction has been licensed to my cousin."

Slowly he cocked his head to the side and turned his head to face me.

I momentarily looked up away from his stupid face.

No bribe will be good enough for him to risk it all.

"Did you think I was going to be a glorified messenger all my life ?"

With that said I looked back at him,

He turned his attention back to view from the window.

This was serious.

'I think he is really going to do this'

"You really are going to do this aren't you ?"

Straight away he nodded and said.

"Mm yes,

Come sunset no sheriff.

No Nottingham."

My attention focused on too many things at once which was no help at all as I looked down.

'Keep calm'

"It always amazes me how much dust an army kicks off."

He then stated as a mattered of fact.

Slowly I lifted my gaze as he turned his head once again to look at mine.

"But then it's a very big army."

My eyes didn't look at him instead they drifted past his dull face and fixed themselves onto the view from the window.

Now sir jasper walked off back down the hall and I focused on the dust in the far distance.

We are no longer playing.
