Nesiote: adj. living on an island
The war was long over, and Hogan appreciated this reunion with his men. Hawaii was a nice place. But then their hired boat went off course, and they landed on an uncharted island occupied by seven strangers.
They tried to help the castaways escape—after all, that was where they excelled—but then a wave carried their boat off the beach with only the five of them, leaving the other seven behind.
"We'll tell someone who can rescue them," Hogan finally decided.
"Really, Hogan," said his unimpressed navy contact. "No one who knows your record believes a word you say."
