I put some money on the table then turned to my NPC followers
"I am Leaving wait here," I said the command to make the NPC stay at a place
"Well let's head out Naofumi" I looked at the newbie with a hacked? Or maybe it is a glitched avatar I am not sure as I could not believe this newbie could hack a game like this but then again that might be an act or even the reason they were hacking as some newbies like to exploit or cheat the game so they can get used to it before they really play honestly I wasn't sure but soon I got out of my thoughts as I saw Naofumi start walking towards the door I quickly followed them but still, the thought continued as another thought entered my head maybe could they even be a… no that definitely isn't the case that wouldn't make sense right? I gave Naofumi a once over once again hoping that I could notice something else to think about I then noticed the monster egg once again ah yes I was planning on asking them about that
"Hey, Naofumi may I ask why Myne decided that it was a good Ideal to buy that monster egg?"
Naofumi stopped and gave me a confused face
"What do you mean?" they asked with a somewhat harsh tone
"Well didn't Myne show you the slave market?" I asked them
'Was it not the tutorial NPC that showed them where to get that?' I thought
"No she didn't I found it on my own and bought it myself," Naofumi said
'What that is strange as I would assume that the NPC would give them a party member or show them how well the NPC could still do that but the Newbie decided to go with a monster egg that is strange but whatever not my problem if they wanna have that playstyle'
After Naofumi said that silence enveloped us which was fine with me
Soon we arrived at the Church it took a bit longer with Naofumi walk cycle being making him have short steps
I felt like I should be annoyed but once again that emotion never appeared I remember how it felt and can emulate it but I can't I just simply can't hell even my memories of being annoyed feel a bit alien now like they were some abstract art that I can't understand I feel like I should be "scared" that is happening but I am not I am feeling nothing at the thought of that maybe my game is glitched also as before in Brave Star Online you could, of course, feel emotions so maybe was wrong with the game that was preventing that? It seemed that Naofumi wasn't the only one with a glitched avatar I wonder if everyone had a glitched avatar
We have already entered the church as I was thinking I was brought out of my thoughts by Naofumi asking me something
"Ren, I don't know where the hourglass is, can you show me?"
"Huh of course," I said getting those thoughts out of my head and started to walk towards the hourglass I went slow so I didn't leave Naofumi behind as I walked I frequently turned to see Naofumi following me and as I did I noticed Naofumi's ears laying flat against their head
'Technology certainly has advanced allowing you to control appendages like that. I wonder how they do that?' I wondered to myself but besides that thought, we arrived at the hourglass without much incident
"Here we are just walk close to it and it should automatically connect you," I said with my normal monotone voice and with that Naofumi walked in front of me I notice their bushy tail softly waging
'So they can also control that I wonder how? Is it automatic or is it like a switch?' I thought before a Pink beam hit the Shield pink gem it then stopped and I could hear Naofumi release a small
'Wow" which seems to cement that this a newbie and not someone simply acting
"There you go Naofumi, that should be all right?" I asked them they then nodded
"Okay let's head out," I said before turning around and started walking I heard a soft patter behind me which I assume is Naofumi as I walked back to the entrance I noticed one of the Nun NPC having a harsh look at us
'Quest NPC?' Is the first thought I had when looking at them I'll probably come here later to see if I can find them but most likely I won't as of course the Nun NPC all look too similar to tell them apart and even if I did find them they probably won't give me any good rewards probably holy water or something which I don't need so I pushed that aside and continued to walk before finally arriving at the entrance I then turned to Naofumi
"There you go let me know if you need any more help," I said as I turned and left
Naofumi was now alone and he kind of glad as combined with just being in the church which was already kinda scary you also had Ren which was just kinda creepy he said very little and when he did it was always monotone almost bored tone then you add onto the fact that his face never really changed as he talked it kind of Reminded Naofumi of a doll or an NPC in a game it was just kinda freaky but that aside Naofumi had what he wanted and now he wasn't sure what he wanted to do as he wasn't confident that he could grind that well with or without the egg as last night he only got a quarter of a way to Level 2 so he found it kinda pointless currently well until the egg hatched so now he had a day or 2 to do things he tried to think of what to do before he finally arrived on an option he could get some sort of pants for his armor and also get his new hair under control and also get that new shield and so with that thought Naofumi headed out
