Hold my hand," Edgar told Noah as they walked into the hospital after Laimi brought Noah to him and met him outside.
"Can we get something for Mommy?" Noah asked, pointing to the gift shop.
"I don't see why not."
By the time he and Noah walked out of the gift shop, Edgar had brought a teddybear as well as some of Olivia's favorite chocolate.
"Mommy!"
Looking over to the doorway, Olivia smiled when she saw her son walk in with Edgar. "Hi, my sweet boy."
"Can I hug you?" Noah asked as he approached.
"Yes," Olivia answered.
Looking up at Edgar, Noah can you pick me up?"
"Sure," Edgar replied, lifting the boy onto the bed next to Olivia. "Should we give Mommy her present you got for her buddy?"
Noah hugged Olivia before snuggling into her side and nodding at Edgar.
"A present?" Olivia asked.
I got it for you."
Edgar picked up the bear and handed it to Olivia. "Noah picked it out."
Olivia smiled, pressing a kiss to the top of Noah's head. "I love it. Thank you. Both of you."
Edgar pulled a chair up next to the bed and reached for Olivia's hand.
"I knew you were going to wake up," Noah said with conviction.
"Oh did you?" Olivia said with a smile. "Well you're just so clever aren't you?"
"I told Laimi and Abby you would," Noah said. Olivia stroked his hair, but caught Edgar's eye as he put a sandwhich, drink and some chocolates down on the bedside table.
"Oh great, I'm starving," Olivia said, grabbing the sandwhich first.
Olivia kissed Noah's forehead. "I love you."
"Love you too mommy." Noah hugged her. "Your voice sounds funny."
"I know," Olivia said. "Sorry." Noah started chatting, a million miles an hour as Olivia stroked his hair with one hand. The other hand reached for Edgar and he held her gently. She was with her family, and she was happy.
