Malfoy looked nervous and muttered, 'Draco means dragon. I can do it.'
Harry's face skin convulsed, he barely managed not to chuckle, when he was surprised by Malfoy's next spell:
'Expecto Patronum!'
What's the hell was that? Malfoy could summon his patronus. A silvery dragon, the speices Harry had never seen. Malfoy tried remembering his happiest moment. Harry wondered what that was. The students applauded Malfoy after Harry clapped his hands.
The blood flushed into his face, Malfoy told them to sit. Then he cleared his throat and spoke,
'I won't teach you how to tame dragons like ginger... Mr. Weasley, nor defense against them like Potter. The lordship. No copy my lecture for your homework Granger suggested the other day,' he paused when some students mumbled, 'Disappointing...'. 'You have enough time to consult the books later. I could get the fee for this, but I'll give you my knowledge for free.' He glanced at Harry.
Harry shrugged. Did Malfoy want his compliment? No way. Malfoy hated him. Why did he care what Harry think of his attitude?
'Back to the ancient time, there used to be dragon lords. Most of them were druids. Only honorable pure bloods could share their power. First, they trusted each other, but tragedy happened. King Arthur's father nearly eliminated them, both druids and dragons.'
Hermione frowned and held her hand up, 'It doesn't make sense. They attacked the magical academic town in Australia. The area would have been protected by the ancient magic, if your logic were right.'
Malfoy scoffed at what she said, 'Granger, your insight is poor. Tons of half-Bloods moved there from Europe and the native pure bloods in Australia haven't learned there. The intelligent speices respect only pure bloods who have shared their knowledge for centuries.' He kept glancing at Harry whose face got severe, 'Don't get me wrong. I didn't mean any offense against muggle-borns. I tell you about history of lordship between dragons. Dragons used to have so much great power that they shared it with the magical humans at the ancient time.'
'Pure Bloods,' one question came up, Harry asked, 'do they include people whose ancestors were druids?'
Hermione looked stunned to hear his question. She tried to speak words, but she shut her mouth.
Malfoy's answer didn't betray his guess. 'I didn't know you had interest in history, Potter. Ten points to Gryffindors. If your mother had come of druidic blood, and your father...oh...' he stopped talking.
'My father was pure blood in your term.' Harry answered.
'Yes, which means you can be one of the powerful dragon lords.' Malfoy finished amazed. 'I'd like to add Mr. Weasley is also a pure blood, I think that's why he is adept at taking care of them. Verify the other dragon tamers. They are from pure bloods, or they are descendants from druids.'
'So you mean,' Hermione finally spoke, 'The lordship has been passed on in their blood?'
'Five points to you, Granger. Half and half. Some of them don't notice their power until the end of their mortal life. I am lucky. I mastered patronus and it is dragon!'
Ginny whispered to Harry, 'Can't believe Malfoy tames any dragons. I heard from Ron about Hagrid's class in your third year. Remember he was scared of Hippogriffs.'
Harry nodded and asked Malfoy, 'You told me it was useless to learn defense against them. Tell me your plan to stop their attack against the innocent people.'
Flicking off hair that covered his eyes, Malfoy pulled and unrolled the screen. His wand tapped a black box and it reflected an enormous dragon and warlocks on the screen, which reminded Harry of King Dragon.
'The dragons used to be god for the magical people, Druids. It was the tragedy King Arthur and his men captured and killed them. Merlin persuaded them to hide themselves somewhere at the safe place. He had to save them since he got the magical power from dragons. Fire is the characteristic of most of dragons except the rain dragons in Asia. They try to keep balance of the climate condition. If they attack the magical city, they have a reason for that. Only solution is the magical water. They won't attack the place where live the wizards and witches possessing the water power, so Hogwarts was founded by Salazar Slytherin who had the greatest water power, that's why it's safe here, and...'
'You mean the other elements have no defense power against dragons?' Harry spoke aloud interrupting Malfoy's words.
'No. They absorb the other powers such as earth, fire and wind power. The dragons which traveled to Australia, must have got more powers there.'
Harry had something to feel wrong with what Malfoy said. What Harry experienced after reading the book of dragons told him Malfoy's story was not right. He also believed in the wand dynamics. 'Malfoy, thank you for telling us history about the ancient dragons. Tell me which element Merlin mastered the most?'
Malfoy answered, 'According to the old book in my father's library, I remember he loved the lightening power.'
Harry smiled at the information. He found a way to confront the uncontrolled dragons.
