"He hasn't answered," Mai grumbled, handing Noll his tea. "I've left him like… Six voice messages."
"Perhaps he's busy with his studies," Noll suggested.
Mai shook her head, "No, he just got into university. I know he's taking a break."
Noll shrugged, "I'm sure he'll reach out soon, before we leave."
Monk frowned as he watched Noll and Mai carry on. He had been standing by the door, a large camera cradled in his arms.
That was the same thing Noll had said about Masako, before it was discovered she was missing.
He jolted, nearly dropping the camera when a hand came to rest on his shoulder. Monk glanced back at Ayako.
"So, I guess we'll be doing the heavy lifting?" Ayako nudged her head in Noll and Mai's direction.
"Yeah. Sounds like they're still trying to get a hold of Yasu. Apparently, he's not answering Mai's calls."
"Weird," Ayako sighed. "Kinda reminds me of Masako…"
Monk eyed her, "I was just thinking that too. You don't think something similar could have happened, do you?"
Ayako shrugged, "I doubt it. Masako is a medium. And she's also famous. There are too many motives to count. Yasu… He's just a kid. He's probably just slept in, or something like that. There probably isn't anything to worry about."
