Chapter 28, enjoy!

The next morning, Matt groggily sat up in bed after his phone began vibrating on the nightstand. He groaned and rubbed his eyes as he reached for his phone, but he was too late. His phone quit vibrating and a missed call was now present on the screen of his iPhone. Missed call from Landry Clarke was displayed across the screen. He unlocked his phone and clicked on the missed call notification to call Landry back.

"Hey Matt!" Landry greeted once he answered.

"Hey Landry, what's up?" Matt returned, trying to shake the tiredness from his voice.

"Not much, I talked to mom last night and she said you were back in town. Thought I'd call and talk to you," Landry replied.

"Yeah I ran into her at the store yesterday afternoon."

"How long are you in town?" Landry asked.

"I'm not sure yet," Matt vaguely answered as she climbed out of bed and avoided stepping on the beer cans that littered the floor from his night of drinking.

"Well, I'll be back in Dillon next week, maybe we could hang out and catch up," Landry replied.

"Sounds like a plan," Matt responded before they each said good bye and hung up the phone with a new excitement. Matt finally had something to look forward to. Then as fast as the excitement hit, it vanished. He would have to explain to Landry that Julie dumped him.

"Julieeee!" The child Julie was babysitting yelled from the other room. "Patrick stole my iPad!"

"I'm coming, please don't kill each other," Julie grumbled as she made her way into the kids' playroom. It was only her second day as the kids' after school babysitter, and she already hated it.

"Patrick stole my ipad," The little girl informed Julie when she entered the room.

"I didn't steal it, I borrowed it," The older sibling, Patrick, replied.

"If you don't ask it is stealing," The younger girl hissed back, causing them to being arguing.

"Stop!" Julie shouted to interrupt them. "Please stop! I am tired of the arguing, both of you go find a corner in the living room and sit there," She instructed. "You argued the whole time I have watched you."

"What you're giving us time out?" Patrick asked.

"Yes, I am," Julie replied.

"But I'm 11, I'm too old for time out!" Patrick argued.

"Yeah! I'm 6, I'm too old for time out!" The girl, Caroline, agreed.

"Please Julie, you can't give us time out!" Patrick pleaded.

"You know what, I have a college degree but I'm earning money by babysitting you two! Now go find a corner," Julie commanded as she made a mental note to look for a better job, one without kids. Julie's phone buzz and she looked down at it. It was a text from Jason: How's day two? Julie opened the text and replied: Horrible, I can't believe I willingly agreed to do this. It was no exaggeration that her two days on the job had been terrible, but Julie was trying her best to tough it out. After all, she needed the money. When the children found their time-out corners, the house finally silenced and Julie was able to think. She thought about her life and how it had changed in the past two months.

Julie went from living in Chicago with her fiancée and having a paying job, that she enjoyed, to living in her parent's house, single, and babysitting two very annoying children as a "job." Aside from Matt's frequent absence and their constant fighting when he was home, Chicago was nice. But as bad as these children acted, Julie wouldn't go back to sitting in that lonely apartment or having a full on fight with Matt about when he would be gone next or even what they were having for dinner.

Sorrrrry this one was short! I hope you enjoyed anyways. I've been stuck in a rut, but thanks to a review got some inspiration and I think you will all really enjoy these next two chapters. Until next time...
